I don't see any reason why being an Argentine company means
    that their ads
should be written in poor English.
In writing in an advertisement for a commercial enterprise -
    one which is
completely centered around language - broken English
    definitely SHOULD be
    held against them, of course.
I never suggested or even slightly implied that bad English
    was directly
related to intelligence. We're talking about the impression
    made by an
advertisement for a business, posted on an English-speaking
    forum.

  • Question to all Webmasters: Search Engines

To all webmasters out there, I need your thoughts on the
    subject.
There are so many scam and junk emails coming our way, about
search engines submission. I am pretty confused. That is why I am
asking you guys your thoughts and advice.
For the benefit of my clients, how can I maximize their
    search engine positionning?
Does it work paying for this? Who are the best for the buck?
Or does a free submission (and easy) method works well for
    you guys?
What do you do? What should we avoid? Give us your links and
    tricks.
    Looking forward hearing from you.
    Reebok

    > Does it work paying for this?
    No.
    > Who are the best for the buck?
    You are.
    > Or does a free submission (and easy) method works well
    for you guys?
I don't really submit either. I just link to them from my
    website - that's
    usually enough.
    > What do you do?
This (I think) is a good general approach, but it also
    depends on the kind
of keywords/phrases you are trying to optimize as to how
    effective it will
    be -
    1. I make sure that the page validates.
    2. I make sure that I know what keywords and phrases I am
    optimizing
    against.
    3. I make sure that I have used the principle keywords and
    phrases in the
    home page's title tag.
    4. I make sure that I have used well-structured content on
    each page, with
    paragraph headers containing page/content-specific keywords
    and phrases and
    located within <h#> tags.
On pages that are likely to be SE hit pages, I include a good
    meta
    description.

  • About serilize/deserilize complex objects

    Dear friends,
I have a question about transfering complex objects between client and server. if I just transfer primitive data type, any language of client side can consume this web service. but how about if I transfer complex object?
for example, in the server side, I use java to make a bean--bean1, in this bean, there is a variable bean2, it's also a java bean with primitive variables. though WSDL file, I know the complex data type is mapped to primitive data type at last. but I don't know if the client side can consume this web service if it's made by c language or perl language. also, supposing such kind of client side can consume this web service, can the client side transfer back this bean object to server and server can recognize it?
I really confused about this, from theory, web service is platform indepedent, does it mean language indepedent? or conditionally? does there any samples or articles about it?
any hint will be greatly appreciated!
    Sammy

It depends on the product and version of CORBA spec you are working with, but you can always pass a reference to the interface of the object in the parameter list, then the code can do whatever it needs to by manipulating the interface.

  • Best practise for installing patches for SCCM Client 2012 (Both x86 and x64)) - OSD and Client Push Installation

    Hi All,
What is best practice for automatic installing of SCCM 2012 client Patches
(using Patch switch) during installation of SCCM 2012 clients? The challenge is that now there are two versions of clients and updates (x86 and x64).
    I need information for:
    OSD
    Client Push Installation
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,

Not everything that can be or is supported or not supported is documented (or ever can be):
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/jj643252.aspx
Your expectation here needs to be adjusted. No one recommended contacting support. William just mentioned that *if* you have an issue and needed to contact support, they may decline to help you because you've done something explicitly unsupported.
For clientpatch, here's the specific documentation noting it as unsupported:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2009/04/08/automatically-applying-hotfixes-to-the-configuration-manager-2007-client-during-installation.aspx
Additionally, I've also been in contact with the sustained engineering folks responsible for the CUs and they've reinforced the statement.
What can happen? Who knows? Microsoft does not test against unsupported configurations and features -- that's the definition of unsupported. It's not tested so no one really knows. They did find a couple of explicit issues (outlined in that post above) so
know that at least those exist and probably more since it is, as mentioned, abandoned code.
Why does it matter what can happen though? If the folks who write and support the code tell you shouldn't do it, you are simply asking for problems by doing it. Ultimately, you're asking a question that has no defined answer (except "bad"/unsupported things)
that really doesn't matter if you follow the explicit guidance. If you don't, as William points out, that's a risk for you take and an answer for you to discover.

  • Interview questions to ask regarding companies network

I had a quick phone interview the other day for a network engineering position and was asked to have another interview.  They asked me to have questions for next time regarding their network?
Any good questions that I should be asking regarding their network?

Depending upon the type of position, I would tend to ask questions regarding Design and Support. Always ask the questions in a manner that allows YOU to follow up and highlight how your skills would be beneficial to the company - don't just aks questions and listen to the response, use the answer as an opportunity.
    Design:
    Routing protocols used?
    Firewalls used?
    Switches/routers used?
    Level of redundancy?
Type of Service? i.e. MPLS, VPN, etc.
    and many, many more
    Support:
Is the network fully documented via diagrams?
    Are procedures documented?
Expectations of support for the environment?
    Change procedures?
    and many, many more
However, equally important is the stability of the company & department you would be working for:
How long has the person been the Manager for the team?
Why is there an opening? i.e Did someone leave or is the company expanding?
Always ask for a tour of the facilities where you would be working
Try to meet some of the staff before starting
The key is the company is looking for someone that will suit THEM. You, in turn, should be looking for a company where you would feel comfortable and fit in with the team. Most people know within the first 5 minutes of meeting someone whether or not there is any interest - that's why first impressions are so important.
    Good luck,
    Steve

  • Iweb on Google

I have just received my copy of Ilife 06 and now want to create a web site for my music school in the UK.
If I use a .mac account with the long web address how do I get my web site on the google search engine.
I have looked at many of the sites made with iweb mentioned on the discussion board and then have tried to find them using key words on Google and none of them seem to appear.
Can anybody offer me some advice?
    Thanks

Have you tried testing the position of your pages on Google using ranking software? Just because your page doesn't come up in Google's first few pages of results doesn't mean it isn't there.
Google uses complicated algorithms to "rank" web pages. It analyzes every page on the web and then decides how important each page is to a particular subject. So, because your page doesn't show up on the first Google results page when I type in "Portsmouth" doesn't mean that Google hasn't indexed the page, but rather than it considers lots of other pages more important or relevant than yours.
There are many ways that a person can boost their ranking on search engines. One is to get other sites to link to yours using your important keywords in the anchor text. Another is to use html code that validates and is clean. Another is to have text positioned properly in crucial parts of the page such as in the title tags, h1 tags etc. Search engine positioning is almost a science. A whole industry has grown up around it. And the problem is that the rules and algorithms change regularly (Google is getting ready to unleash another algorithm change at around the beginning of March I believe).
If you're really serious about it you will need to do your own research on the internet or find a couple of good books on the subject.

You need to disable the old com object first. Under File/Options/Add-Ins/Manage/Com objects/Go... disable the preview and enable the new Com object. After you made this change create a new power map and it will ask you to remove the old
    version.

  • BSM auditing of  useradd, userdel etc.

I want to use auditing on my system and have found that when I do any user administration commands,
audit doesn't catch them. Further searching let me to :
    Bug 6178396: useradd(1M), usermod(1M), userdel(1M), groupadd(1M), groupmod(1M), groupdel(1M) do not audit actions
Does anyone know if a patch to fix this problem has ever been released. The "work around" is not acceptable
    to me.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
Reading the bug/defect notes shows that it is not fixed and the bug has been open for over 6yrs. There are several reasons why this issue hasn't been resolved:
    * Engineering don't have enough time or resources to work on the problem
    * A workaround has been provided, so the bug is marked as Prority4 (lowest available).
    * Only 4 customers have been linked to the Bug, all of which deployed the workaround, so no justification to fix it.
    * Nobody has given enough business justification to bump up the priority and put it back on the radar to be fixed
You're welcome to raise a new service request if you can provide enough business justification to the Sustaining/Engineering Group to see if we can get the resource needed to resolve the issue.
    Regards,
    Steve
