I m trying to import SVG file to Muse project, but it don't seen in the Design window, (only box and "can'not generate thumbnail"). It is seen in Preview window and in Browser Preview. What happened?
I try this on two computers  - there are ok in one of them, but on the other one i see this bug (
Thank you for help.

  • How can I import SVG file to Flash CS5.5

    I want to import a .SVG file that I made in Inkscape to Flash CS5.5 how do I do this? Do I need to install some type of plugin/extension? Is there some way around it?

    Actually no, that's incorrect. Flash CS5.5 can NOT import PS/EPS. I've seen a few threads mentioning this, but it's not the case (maybe older versions supported that?).
    The list of supported file formats can be found here;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/supported-file-formats-flash-professional.html
    To import PS/EPS, you'd need to convert it first through another tool, such as Illustrator.

  • Import/Open SVG Files in Fireworks CS5!

    Hey,
    I really need to import/open SVG files in Fireworks CS5. I have been searching the Web for days now, but I can't find anything. The reason for this is that I get thousands of files sent to me in SVG format that I needto incorporate into my designs made in Fireworks. I solve it today by opening the files in Illustrator, copy each one of them, paste in Fireworks... WTF!
    So please tell me someone made this easy for me?
    Many thanks!

    I also have this problem. I didnt exatly find a solution, however here's the way i learnt to use .svg without losing editability in Fireworks.
    1. Download Inkscape as suggested by Joyce Evans Erb. Here
    2. Open the SVG file you need to work with in Inkscape.
    3. Go to File > Save As and select .eps (Encapsulated PostScript)
    4. Open the saved .eps file in Fireworks.
    Now you might get a bit of unnecessary space around the file but it should work out just fine.
    Also, if you havn't already go check out thenounproject.com . It's a great resource for us Fireworks types.
    As a final note, i'd just like to plead with Adobe to put a bit more effort into Fireworks. It's a great program that i feel is being dragged along with the suite. (Hope to see some really awesome stuff in Fireworks CS6.5 *wink* )

  • How can I import svg files into photoshop?

    I am trying to import some svg files into photoshop shapes, how is that done?

    Although you CAN open SVG into Illustrator, save it as PSD or Illustrator, I think Photoshop should directly support opening SVG files in the same way it does PDF. You set the pixel size you want and then rasterize it.

  • How do I use an Edge Animate project with SVG files in InDesign for DPS output?

    Is there any way to include an Edge Animate web content using .svg files in InDesign for output to DPS?
    Edge Animate works great with InDesign, except for when you're using SVG files. I've worked with SVG files on the web successfully (writing .htaccess files and such), but it seems like InDesign doesn't like them.
    This is pretty important because I don't want to have to design multiple renditions on the DPS suite. Currently I have it setup as a PDF format (DPS) and that scales all of the vector-based type perfectly. It would be wonderful if the animations could also be in a vector format so that when the iPad (3) users see the designs, they will scale naturally through the PDF framework.
    Any advice would be invaluable.
    Thanks!

  • Reducing SVG File Size

    I'm using Wallaby for simple animations, and as long as you remember what Flash features aren't supported (eg, filters), it's working fine. However, the SVG files are rather bloated. I've brought them into Illustrator and re-saved them, which resulted in a huge reduction in file size.
    One gotcha to fix: For whatever reason (Wallaby guys?), an underscore is placed before the font name, as in _Book Antiqua. Illustrator of course can't find the font. Open the SVG file that Wallaby generates with a text editor (I used TextWrangler) to remove the underscore, and all will be well.
    The resulting animations work fine on Webkit browsers (including Safari iOS). I'm assuming code for Gecko browsers is coming. Unfortunately, nonWebkit browsers grab the first frame of the animation and display that. The work around is to take a screenshot of the SWF's final state, optimize it, import that into the first frame of a new Flash layer, insert a keyframe in the second frame, and delete the screen shot. No animation, but a pretty reasonable image.
    Wallaby is a great idea because (IMHO) nothing beats Flash as an environment for creating animations. I'm sure Wallaby will become only better with time, though improving it  obviously nontrivial. Thanks, Wallaby guys, for a great effort.

    Hello,
    Hmmm... I've run into an unexpected problem. I'd like to scale the unscaled data from DAQmx for some calculations during the data collection, but it isn't scaling the way I would have expected.
    My range is +/-10V and the largest unscaled numbers for data filling that range are very roughly about +/-125000. I would have expected them to approach 2^31 (one bit for sign)!!  How can one scale this data?
    Also, my saved TDMS file doesn't seem to have the information that "Cont Acq&Graph Voltage - Graph Unscaled Data from File (TDMS).vi" needs to scale it.
    Regarding I16, my data is unusual in that it contains a signal of interest that is about 80 dB below the stimuli that are also in the measurement. For that reason I need the full I32 to avoid excessive quantization error in the signal of interest.
    Thanks again!

  • SVG file with links to other SVG files - links don't work

    I have an SVG image with a few dozen linked images, all of which are pointing to external SVG files. If I open the main SVG in a web browser, it loads up correctly with all the linked images, so I know the file is correct.
    When I open it in illustrator, I get the following message:
    Could not find a plug-in to read the linked file "test.svg". Choose Replace to select another file or Ignore to leave the link unchanged.
    If I choose Ignore, the file loads up but the linked SVGs are removed. Obviously Illustrator doesn't really need a plugin to read an SVG file, because it loads the main SVG with no problem.
    Meanwhile I have other links pointing to PNG files which all work fine. In fact I can open the main SVG, find one of the PNG links, and click Re-Link, and then link them to an SVG, and this will work! Although it doesn't work as desired, instead of making a link, it seems to import the external SVG's layers, which is not desired.
    I'm pretty sure it's just one of those things that will never work, but does anyone have any thoughts on making it work?
    FYI here's some source code from the main SVG, where it links to the external SVG:
    <image overflow="visible" width="420" height="300" id="_x30_1_13_" xlink:href="images\graphics\SVG\test.svg"  transform="matrix(0.2534 0 0 0.2534 438.8486 458.8145)">
                        </image>
    this link, to a PNG, works just fine:
    <image overflow="visible" width="420" height="300" id="_x30_1_14_" xlink:href="images\graphics\211.png"  transform="matrix(0.2534 0 0 0.2534 246.3306 458.8145)">
                        </image>
    and like I said, both links work fine when the main SVG is opened in a web browser.

    I think the problem is that illustrator just isn't capable of linking to an SVG from within an SVG. Try it yourself with two very simple files, I just did.
    create a "main.svg" with just a line
    create a "link.svg" with another line
    save a copy of link.svg as link.png (using export to web)
    -- now you have three files, put them all in the same directory just to make life easy
    in main.svg, file >> place >> link.png
    -- illustrator will place the PNG as a linked image
    in main.svg, file >> place >> link.svg
    -- illustrator will import layers from the SVG, it will not place it as a linked image
    If you save this file and open in a text editor, you'll see your image link to the PNG file, and you'll see two <line/> elements, one that you had in main.svg and another that you had in link.svg (it has now been imported into main.svg)
    In the text editor, try duplicating the image link, and change the href of your duplicate to link.svg, then save.
    Re-open main.svg in illustrator. It should give you the error message about the linked svg, the same one I saw originally.
    I did all this using CS6. Then I tried opening the final main.svg file in CC and saw the same error message.

  • Open SVG File, manage it and save it

    Hi!
    i'm new using java and batik

    i open the svgFile.svg and i put it in a 'org.w3c.dom.Document docSVG'
    now i want to manage it, but i suppose it wont be a problem with batik toolkit...
    but the problem is this:
    now i want to save my 'org.w3c.dom.Document docSVG' into a newsvgFile.svg... then i do this:
    import java.io.IOException;
    import org.apache.batik.svggen.SVGGraphics2D;
    import org.apache.batik.dom.GenericDOMImplementation;
    import org.w3c.dom.DOMImplementation;
    public class Manager {
    public static void main(String [] args) throws IOException {
    //SVGDatei is a function to put the svgFile.svg in org.w3c.dom.Document docSVG
    SVGDatei svgDatei = new SVGDatei();
    DOMImplementation domImpl = GenericDOMImplementation.getDOMImplementation();
    SVGGraphics2D svgGenerator = new SVGGraphics2D(svgDatei.docSVG);
    svgGenerator.stream("svgFile.svg", true);
    But this code only generate a empty svg file in 'svgFile.svg '
    Why don't load my document??
    Somebody can help me?

  • SVG files not rendering in Muse

    When I place SVG files into Muse they do not render. I get a spinning wheel and the message 'Unable to generate thumbnail', however the image doesn't show in preview either. I have tried with files I have made myself from Illustrator and also tried files downloaded from the Katies Coffee tutorial. Any ideas?

    There are multiple issues at play here:
    1. The use of a slow IP by Muse's preview server resulting in the rendering of the SVG timing out and failing to draw. We believe we have a fix for this issue, for a future release, involving sorting the available IPs by their relative speed. Some people have worked around this issue by turning off Internet Sharing or using an Ethernet connection instead of a Wireless connection to the internet.
    2. Muse does not allow Placed or Pasted SVGs to be resized smaller than 20x20px. This issue will be resolved in a future release, but can be worked around by importing the SVG as a Fill on a Rectangle and choosing a Fitting of "Scale to Fit."
    3. A min height getting erroneously set on Placed/Pasted SVGs after attempting to resize. The effect of the erroneous min height problem is that it prevents a tight fitting height and at design time, a dashed line can be seen at the bottom of the graphic. This issue will be fixed in a future release.
    4. Muse currently allows Placed and Pasted SVG to be resized, but not scaled. The only time that SVGs get scaled is if you import them as a background fill and set the fitting on the container to "Scale to Fit" or "Scale to Fill." If you Place or Paste an SVG, then changing the dimensions is not a scaling operation but a resize. A scaling operation is equivalent to putting a lens over the object. In a resize operation, the browser is given the new dimensions within which to render the SVG and the drawing operations within the SVG are executed, allowing the SVG to crop or behave responsively depending on the options chosen when creating the SVG. Typically, the result is that the SVG is scaled and centered to fit within the new dimensions, adding padding to the sides when necessary but sometimes it results in a cropped graphic - it all depends on the options chosen when creating the SVG and potentially how the browser has chosen to implement its support of SVG. Perhaps in the future we'll change the handling of these Placed/Pasted SVGs such that a resize gesture will result in a true scaling.

  • White background on SVG file

    Please help. Why do I always get a white background with my imported SVG file from Illustrator? I'm always using the copy + paste technique but when I'm using the place technique, it's the same result. I mean if I preview it in the browser it doesn't have the white in it but while I'm in Muse, I'm finding it hard to work with it.

    Hi,
    see this link:
    http://caniuse.com/#feat=svg
    .svg Files are supported by most browsers, but in some browsers like IE8 or older Android smartphones is not supported.
    Adobe Muse automatically creates an image of the .svg file to make sure that images are displayed properly in older browsers.
    When working with adobe muse it uses images associated with files and NOT the svg files.
    The bug is just that, when working with adobe muse and you are using an old browser svg files are not properly displayed.
    We are all waiting for an update that solves this problem!

  • FrameMaker 10 Corrupts Searchable Text in SVG Files

    I notice that a font issue occurs with SVG files in FrameMaker 10.0.2.419 saved as PDF.
    1. Open a FrameMaker document that contains SVG images. The SVG images contain text. Text is in Arial font.
    2. Save FrameMaker file as PDF.
    3. Search PDF file for instances of words contained in SVG images. Text not found. Text is rendered correctly. But upon inspection, when copied and pasted into NotePad, text is rendered as squares:       .  Acrobat properties show that the original font is ArialMT.
    Things I already tried:
    Font embedding settings in Distiller. No effect.
    Using File > Print in FrameMaker instead of Save as PDF. No effect.
    Using a different version of Distiller. No effect.
    Using a printer instead of Distiller and printing a post-script file. No effect.
    It seems instead to be an issue with the FrameMaker patch that updated the version to 10.0.2.419. Prior to that patch, things seemed to work correctly. And things seem to work correctly in FrameMaker 8.
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Arnis,
    Thanks for your offline replies. To summarize, we found that it's either the CoolType engine or the SVG import filter. One of those is converting the fonts to the CID Identity-H format and rendering it unsearchable in the PDF file. In FM8, it depends upon the font specified as to whether or not it gets converted to the CID Identity-H format.
    Font Type
    FM8
    FM10
    TTF
    OK
    CID
    OTF
    CID
    CID
    Type 1 PS
    Fails
    CID
    So the newer versions of FM always convert SVG fonts to CID, while older version does not convert TrueType fonts to CID. That's why FM8 appeared to handle SVG-text conversions correctly.
    I took it upon myself to attempt swapping out the CoolType.dll file to see if an older version would work with FrameMaker 10. But this did not work, and depending on the .dll version, caused FrameMaker to crash.
    We talked about a potential solution with ExtendScripts where we might create a script that extracts the text strings from the SVG, which is a simple XML format with the text is clearly delineated-- so perhaps an XSLT to get the strings externally first-- puts the text strings in a look-up table associated with the svg filename and then in the documents adds those text strings (using the invisible colour) to the anchored frames containing the appropriate svg. But this seems like a big project to me. I don't think I could spare the time.
    We suggest (for now) to use another graphic file format OR re-enter the required text using either the Text tool or a text frame overtop of the graphic (use a custom colour so you can see it and then before generating the PDF, redefine the colour to render as white so it's invisible in the PDF). That way, a search in the PDF will stop at the graphic.
    We are reporting this as a bug.

  • Get Photoshop to open a SVG File?

    Is there a way to get Photoshop to open a SVG File? I know I can open it in Illustrator save as a EPS file then open into photoshop but I would prefer a quicker method than that work around.
    I found a Plug-In that will do this but it cost 99 for a year license and I do not use SVGs enough to justify the cost. Are there any free plug-ins?

    This very along the lines of what I'd like to see as well...
    I mean what's involved?...  SVG is all paths, fills + gradients, no?   I wanted to do this to, but to change them all manually into shapes and paths seems pretty broken.
    This is related to many recent (past 3-5 years) problems in Photoshop...its inability to handle vector information appropriately.
    I tried importing the SVG into illustrator, and exporting as .ai, thinking photoshop would understand the data as PATH's and masks and gradients then...but nope... wanted to force it all into bitmask data..Broken!  Why can't it read in the paths and gradients AS paths and gradients?  I don't want
    to convert to a bitmap...
    Seems like photoshop tries to force you into inefficient format by default and makes it difficult, near impossible to change from things created as vectors and shade/gradients, and patterns into objects that are those things, whereas the default should be to create the items as objects and convert or overlay bitmask layers on top of a layer so created, when needed, automatically.  (sized for the actual bit mask and relative to the created shap layer.
