Hi
Currently, you can only distinguish between your branches by looking at the location of the working copy on your file system. So, for instance, if you have checked out branches to /test1/myApp and /test2/myApp in your file system you can see this information when holding the mouse over the project in the App Navigator. Of course, your application/project will be the same name - but the file system path will give you the additional information. We are working on providing additional information in the Navigator to show this information (as we do with the repository name and version nos on files).
By the way, are you checking out at project level or complete applications? I am interested in building up a picture of how users are versioning their JDeveloper applications

Log Message:
Integrated Build 192 of what used to be called TCAL (and, before that, Vellum).
The Text Component ActionScript Library (TCAL) has been renamed to the Text Layout Framework. Its classes are now in the package flashx.textLayout rather than in flashx.tcal, and they are packaged into SWCs named textLayout_xxx.swc rather than tcal_xxx.swc. The XML namespace for importable markup is now "http://ns.adobe.com/textLayout/2008" rather than "http://ns.adobe.com/tcal/2008".
QE Notes: Please update package names (and XML namespaces, if necessary) in all test files.
Doc Notes: Please eliminate all references to "Text Component ActionScript Library" or "TCAL" and use "Text Layout Framework" instead.

ADF Faces & BC: Best pratices for project layout
Season greetings my fellow JDevelopers!
Our software group has been working with ADF for around 5 years and through the years we have accumulated a good amount of knowledge working with JDeveloper and ADF. Much of our current application structure has been resurrected in the early days of JDeveloper 10 where there were more samples codes floating around then there were "best pratice" documentation. I understand this is a subjective topic and varies site to site, but I believe there is a set of common practices our group has started to identify as critical to streamlining a development process(reusable decorated ui components, modular common biz logic, team development with svn, continuous integration/build, etc..). One of our development goals is to minimize dependency between each engineer as everyone is responsible for both client and middle layer implementation without losing coding consistency. After speaking with a couple of the aces at the last openworld, I understand much of our anticipated architectural requirements are met with JDeveloper 11(with the introduction of templates, declarative components, bounded task flows, etc..) but due to time constraints on upcoming deliverables we are still about an year away before moving on with that new release. The following is a little bit about our group/application.
JDeveloper version: 10.1.3.4
Number of developers: 7
Developer responsibilties: Build both faces & bc code
We have two applications currently in our production environments.
1.A flavor of Steve Muench's dynamic jdbc credentials login module
2.Core ADF Faces & BC application
In our Core ADF Faces application, we have the following structure:
OurApplication
-OurApplicationLib (Common framework files)
-OurApplicationModel (BC project)
-src/org/ourapp/module1
-src/org/ourapp/module2
-OurApplicationView (Faces project)
public_html/ourapp/module1
public_html/ourapp/module2
src/org/ourapp/backing/module1
src/org/ourapp/backing/module2
src/org/ourapp/pageDefs/
Total Number of Application Modules: 15 (Including one RootApplicationModule which references module specific AMs)
Total Number View Objects: 171
Total Number of Entities: 58
Total Number of BC Files: 1734
Total Number of JSPs: 246
Total Number of pageDefs: 236
Total Number of navigation cases in faces-config.xml: 127
Total Number of application files: 4183
Total application size: 180megs
Are there any other ways to divide up this application? Ie: module specific projects with seperate faces-config files/databindings? If so, how can these files be "hooked" together? A couple of the aces has recommended that we should separate all the entity files into its own project which make sense. Also, we are looking into the maven builds which should remove those pesky model.jpr files that constantly gets “touched”. I would to love hear how other groups are organizing their application and anything else they would like to share as an ADF best pratice.
Cheers,
WesAfter discussions over the summer/autumn by members of the ADF Methodology Group I have published an ADF Coding Standards wiki page that people may find useful:
It's aimed at ADF 11g and is intended to be a living document - if you have comments or suggestions please post them to the ADF Methodology google group ( [http://groups.google.com/group/adf-methodology?hl=en] ). -
BPM 12c: How to connect bpm composer to the svn not with the integrated one

I want to connect bpm composer with the our svn hosting on different server not the one which comes integrated to bpm suite (PAM).

AnshulThe repository defaults to this folder under the domain directory: $domain/bpm/bac/$server/repositories. While you can change its location by updating the RepositoryPath attribute in the BacNode MBean, you won't be able to use your own SVN.

SQL DEVELOPER integration/setup with SUBVERSION (SVN)
Hi All,
Can any one kindly forward/explain me the integration process of SQL Developer with SUBVERSION (SVN). I found the following link with a tutorial on its usage but not its installation/setup/integration process. http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/08-jul/o48sql.html
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
AjWell, first of all you need to know what subversion is and what is tne purpose of use a data repository like this. If you understand the filosphy of SVN you get almost all you need. May be this links will be useful for you: http://svnbook.red-bean.com/, http://www.germane-software.com/~ser/R_n_R/subversion.html, http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~comp314/svn.html
Next you need to know that SQLDeveloper may integrate with subversion in two forms:
1. Creating a new repository to maintain your code: Menu Versioning -> Createnew repository
2. Using a created repository and importing files: Menu Versioning -> import files -> select repository -> select files
May be this few words be useful for you, good luck! -
External SVN vs. XCode SVN integration
We've been using an external SVN (springloops) for our XCode collaboration and are finding that unless we remember to move the /build folder up and out of the SVN repository, the SVN system constantly is getting its knickers in a knot because the contents changes without telling SVN about it. So we've had to remember to move the /build folder when we start, and remember to move it back when we do an actual build for the app store, because otherwise the provisioning stuff doesn't work.
So we are considering switching to just use XCode's built-in XCode support. I've done a small test (with Unfuddle, this time) with a HelloWorld type app, and it seems like the SVN integration doesn't care about the /build folder and doesn't seem to care what happens with it, which is exactly what we want. But it's hardly an exhaustive test, and I hate to experiment with the actual code we are working with.
Is my impression accurate? Is anyone else using this, and if so, do you have to do anything special about /build? Does it Just Work (I'm hoping)? Thanks for that reminder, that might be what we end up doing, but I still would like to know from the people using XCode's SVN integration whether that is even necessary - or does XCode just take care of that stuff by itself?

Version Control integration with SVN
We want to implement Version Control integration for Siebel Tools with Subversion (SVN).
After an informal chat with a consultant from Oracle, we got the reply like: Test, and see if it works.
Now for my question, does anyone know a project where they used SVN as the version control tool in a Siebel project?Nothing much yet, but I found a website that has the batch file for integration with SVN.
Guess I have to contact the author to get more details:

Svn-integration of sqldeveloper not working for Datamodeler
Hi everyone,
has anyone been able to use the SVN-integration of SqlDeveloper for the datamodeler? It appears that the Datemodeler has simply been appended to SqlDeveloper without real integration.
SVN-integration of SqlDeveloper works for SqlDeveloper files, but not for the datamodeler (eg it does not recognize any incoming or outgoing changes etc). It was working in the Standalone version of datamodeler, though.
Anyone with positive experiences?
Yours,
qwe15056.Hi qwe15056,
Data Modeler uses its own svn integration. If you are working with DM from within SQL Developer, you can open View / Data Modeler / Pending Changes to see its own Pending Changes window that you can use to update / commit/ revert /compare changes.
By the way, there is a separate forum concerning Data Modeler:
SQL Developer Data Modeler
Hope that helps,
Ivaylo -
Hi experts,
I'm using Version 4.0.2.840. I'm experiencing problems with Subversion integration:
1) My colleague makes changes and commit then and they're neither shown in "Pending Changes" tab or "Pending Changes (Subversion)".... by the way, whats is the difference?
2) If do a clean checkout, in the "Version History" tab, it's show's last version as 5 when actually, last version is 9
Thanks in advance,
Jose.Thanks for your help Philip.
You need to click on incoming changes and click "refresh" button there.
Of course, this is what I'm doing and no updates are detected!
Elements in SVN repository are at different revisions, the same is for working copy....
Of course each single file has its own version, but in the Version History it seem it should show the log of all revisions:
Also I've detected that if I close the model and reopen it and click "Team->Version History" I get several error messages like this:
svn: E200005: '....\businessinfo\Objects.local' is not under version control
For versioning it's better to use the latest published version DM 4.1.873
I've tested the same problems with this version as well
Best regards,
Jose. -
