Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. I think it's better to start with Ubuntu or another user-friendly distro than try your hand at Arch. A lot of the things you talk about reveal a lack of knowledge about the inner workings of Linux (no offense; that's just how it is). Linux distros are extremely modular, and GUIs are interchangeable. Aesthetics, therefor, are as well. You can install Ubuntu, OpenSuSE, Fedora and Arch and get them to look identical.
As for creating your custom distro, I am not sure distros would like you to strip logos and stuff (which, for consistency, at some point, might also involve copyrights - you do not want your boot logo to say 'Customix - (c) Ubuntu Canonical' or something).
If there are projects around that allow you to change the aesthetics (which seems to be mostly what you're after), then by all means use those . Hacking scripts etc. for consistency can be a tedious job, if you are not comfortable with command line tools. It will only be harder to (re)brand Arch since it comes with the minimal amount of branding required upstream.
The DE menus are ordered by XDG standards. It's fully automatic. If you want to change that, you need to hack the .desktop files.

Ah, thanks. Goes to show how carefully I look at keyboards these days...
So Opt(alt) on the Mac should map to Alt on PC.
It would actually be helpful if the OP told us waht the shortcuts were meant to do...

I want to add a V-Card to my signature in Apple Mail (by drag and drop from address book to signature pane in Mail>Preferences). I have read that, in the past, this can caused problems for some recipients who use Windows Outlook.
Is this still the case? If so, how can I add a V-Card to my signature without causing problems for recipients?

I take note of your WNLB recommendation but in this case the error start on one of the CAS server first and client connected to the CAS that does not have any errors continue to work as normal.
I upgraded to SP3 late last year. This problem first happened in Feb 2014.
Have you checked the DNS settings on the VM - yes, and both of them are pointing to one of our DC's.
I would set the client with a Host file to just one CAS to rule out the WNLB - this would be too hard
to manage as when the issue happens again it could happen on CAS1 but the client could be connected to CAS2 so it wont experience the issue.

First are you going to use the same keyword/categories hierarchy in the same Elements version (or newer)? If so, using the backup/restore process will also restore your hierarchy.
If you want to create the same hierarchy in an older Elements version, it's possible to save that hierarchy in a special text file and to restore it in the new catalog in the destination computer. It's also possible to restore it in another catalog in the same computer.
Look at the title bar of the keywords panel. Next to the '+' sign on the right, you see a small icon which opens a menu offering the option to save or to restore the text file.
