You da man! I also had to add grpconv and chage to get filesystem working but all seems well now thanks!
Doug piston had me try something that I think will help anyone else who has this problem. Try re-installing pambase and shadow. It generated back most of any I was missing.

Q: Are there .class files in that directory in that jar file? (the compiler doesn't ( can't )) look for directories, it can just look for specific files , and scan to get a list of all files matching certain criteria. So if there are no class files, it will say the package doesn't exist, even if there is a directory, possibly containing other files.yes there are class files in the jar, the tree structure:
j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\(lots of class files)
META-INF\manifest.mf
and thats it.

Q: Is the compiler finding other classes (in other packages) in that same jar file?No. all the class files are in the jar, they all have entries that start with "j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\*.class", and since I get 47 errors I guess it does not load any other class.
thank you for you comments, the problem with having these errors, is that I can't even get a piece of information where this error is coming from, only that it is an import loading error package not found, what does that mean? that the jar was not loaded in compilation(no error about this), that the jar is corrupted(no error about this), that the path is incorrect(it is correct I made sure), that there is no such package in the jar(There is), that the compiler does not load the package(does it even do that?), really I can't even guess why this happens, I've been at this on and of all day today, really annoying.

Help can't add new jar files into BDK beanbox(plz see details)
I am unable to load new jar files into bdk beanbox inspite of
packaging bean class file and manifest file in a jar file and
placing it in bdk jars directory. On trying to load it says(THE JAR
FILE DOES NOT HAVA ANY BEANS).

File -> Import -> Selct radiobutton - "Jar file" -> Next
-> Select the file name(ur jar file) - > click on the java button and ensure that u have selected all the file or what evre files u want " -> Finish
If at all u r not getting any errors but the files are not apperaring in ur Project means go to
Step 2:
From the work bench click
Window -> Reposiroy Explorer -> Select the Project,edition,package or type and right click and from the pop up menu click "Add to Workspace"

Can't re-add MP4's back into iTunes
Something bizarre has happened to my iTunes which I hope someone can explain. Basically, I imported videos into my iTunes last yaer. They were all originally converted with handbrake and all showed up and played fine in iTunes. Anyway, tonight I wanted to change the artwork. So I got the relevant image and applied to all videos. Some changed successfully, some didnt. The ones that didn't, I thought I would delete them from iTunes, but clicked the "Keep Files" button, with the intention of just re-adding them (hoping this mught refresh the artwork). Well now they will not re-add!
Its so bizarre as two hours ago, before I started this process, they were sitting in iTunes! And now they won't re-add. Is it something to do with the video formats? They all have read/write permissions. I can't of anything else to do as I feel I have tried everything. One set of the videos was 3 seasons of a tv show - 2 seasons changed artwork successfully, but the 3rd season didn't change artwork - so this was one of the ones I deleted, and then tried to re-add.

Problem in configuring jar file into a j2me polish project
look guys i know it might look noobie question but it is realy urgent !!
i want to add a jar file into a j2me polish project--: i added it as a jar into the resources , put it in a liberary .
and when i wanted to import it into my classes it was shown in the auto-complete and it showd no error but while i try to comile my project i got this error:

Compress two .jar file into a new .jar file
Hi all, i would like to ask it there anyone know how to compress two or more .jar file into one new .jar file?
because i'm currently need to engage with one big project which have to add 34 .jar file into JCreator, so that the relevant classes can be found when compile the code.
another question is, what is the maximum archive can be add into JCreator? is it limited or unlimited?
So, any idea from you all?

poh_ccYou should probably ask the authors of JCreator about the limitations of it.
The classloader can't read jars from jars and I would advice against extracting all jars and jar all classes into one big fat jar.

How to add a jar file to a project
I believe I have followed the necessary steps to add a jar file to my project. I have added this jar file as a new library and I see all the classes in it. I have even added it to my SessionBean1.java via the Add ---> Property menu. I noticed that this did not do the import of the class, so I did it myself. I also noticed that it did the drop downs and found the class for me automatically. Specifically, the IDE knows about the class layout and can see my class package as I type it out.
So far so good....
I then go to compile the project and I get the error:
C:\Projects\safe\Safe\src\safe\SessionBean1.java:11: package com.dusa.bo does not exist
import com.dusa.bo.BackofficePerson;
Am I missing something? I looked around and it looks to me like the jar file is in the project and it should know about it. Again, I do know that the editor can find it, because as I type import ..... it then list "com" as an option to click on, then if I click on com, it will then list dusa ... and so on.

I'm trying to add a .jar file to my applet using the code:
<applet name=myApplet.class archive=model.jar></applet>
Both the .class and .jar files are in the same directory as test.html
So, when the applet starts an exception is thrown:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: it/bizware/session/interfaces/HardwareLogManagerUtil
at AppletPistolaL.getHardwareLogManager(AppletPistolaL.java:222)
at AppletPistolaL.init(AppletPistolaL.java:97)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
The model.jar contains the path it/bizware/session.../HardwareLogManagerUtil!
I can't understand why this exception is thrown

Add ejb.jar as a module into ear using jdeveloper

i have problem with ejb.jar file.
i want to add one ejb.jar module into jdeveloper application.
I means i want to add into ear as dependencies.
right now, I can only add jpr project as dependencies.
Unfortunately my ejb.jar dont have source file.

WPOK, here is a working solution which I finally found myself:
1. register the ejb references in the consuming web application manually (in web.xml)
2. add the interfaces jar to the app APP-INF/lib file group (Application Libraries)
3. add a new file group for libraries and add the ejb jar library (should be among the dependencies of some project to be available)
4. the path in ear field should be empty so the ejb jar goes into root, but JDeveloper (11.1.1.4-6) in it's amazing helpfulness fills in lib all the time if field left empty: so edit the .jws xml directy and enter v="" in the according element and make sure to check if still empty whenever editing the profile -

How to add external jars in the configuration of JSmooth?
Hello,
I am trying to create an exe file from a java program using JSmooth.
The program is a simple hello world proogram.
I am developing under eclipse, and I am using some external jar files as libraries.
If my program is simple,; it works fine. If I add an import of a class that is in one of these jar files, I get the following error when executing the created .exe file:
"Could not find the main class. Program will exit".
I guess I have to add this Jar file to the path for the creation of the .exe file.
My question is: does anybody know HOW to add an external jar in the configuration of JSmooth for the creation of an exe file from a Java program?
