This doesn't seem right.
I paid for a rental and downloaded an HD movie, Avatar. I could start watching within about a minute, it played without skipping a beat.
My wife started watching the movie the next night and got about half way through.
The next day, she tried watching the rest, and selected the film and clicked on "resume watching".
But instead of streaming and playing like it should, we got the spinning wheel of death followed by a message "Ready to play in 1 minute" which soon became "Ready to play in 2351 minutes"!
Additional information that I can add is that it was Sunday afternoon which is peak time for internet usage and I'd just exhausted my data allowance before the speed limiting kicks in. Basic internet using browsers at that time was really slow.
So it was as though the movie we were going to resume watching was going to be downloaded from the iTunes Store again, and since my connection had been speed limited, it was going to take forever. I thought you downloaded a rental to your hard drive and it deleted itself after it expired? So any subsequent streaming to AppleTV would be coming direct from your hard drive. It shouldn't have been affected by the speed of my internet connection at that time, surely. Anyone else experienced this?

Move next/previous buttons in a region with over 100 items

Hi,
Is there a way to show items in a region in chunks and then have a move next/previous buttons. I have a region on a page that has over 100 items how can I show 10 items a time and then have move next/previous buttons. I am using 10.1.2.0.2

In the "what to search" tab, select the pagegroup where stands your page.
below teh pagegroup selection you got an option named "Which pages should be searched?"
Browse to your page.
Leave the search criterias blank (so taht the portlet won't make any filter)
In the "results display" tab, select the pagination.
Now, your portlet will display all items on your page.
The best way to use it is to put all your items on page1.
Create a page2 with only this portlet configured to serach for all items on page1.
In your portal, just make a link to page2.

This command no longer works in iPhoto. The photo just bounces for a moment, then all the photos begin scrolling. I used to be able to just hit the key to scroll one at a time.

What version of iPhoto and system are you running? What mode are you in, edit, full view, full screen, ???

Previous revision

We need a report to show the quantities for the current Purchase Order (PO), and the quantities for the previous revision. This way we can see at a glance how the quantities have changed.

which should hopefully make things a bit clearer. What I need to end up with is the data in the red rectangle. This shows the data for the current revision (3) of the PO, but it also shows the quantities for each of these items from the previous PO revision (2).
I can't see how I can get WEBi to look at data from the previous revision. I can hard code it to look at revision 2, but I need this to be dynamic as the current PO revision could be anything

the best way to perform you issue is to create a view or alias from the PO table in the unviserse and put it in some context in the universe
so when you inquiry the PO from the Webi it can give you automatically the Previous PO with the same item in the Current one and also you can calculate the variance and the growth of the Itmes between the 2 POs
talk to your IT Departement about this issue and discuss it with them.
if you want to make it in Webi, you can handle it too, but it will be more compliacted and it will take much of time.
you can use the multiple queries concept with some restrictions and subqueries.

Why can't i see my movies in "Previous Purchases" I bought the movie 6 months ago and just recently watched it- i had to restore my ipod and my computer becasue the both broke. now i can't see any movies, only apps, songs, books, and tv shows.

OK i will explain my whol situation.
My computers hard drive broke, so i had to get a new one.
My itunes from the hard drive is gone now.
MY ipod was disable to the point where you must plug it into the same itunes on the same computer it was last synced on.
i had to restore my ipod.
i re downloaded itunes.
i got into my account.
i re downloaded all songs, apps, books, tv shows, and pod casts.
IT WON"T SHOW ME MY MOVIES.
i looked in my purchase history so i know i bought it.
i went back to "Previous Purchases"
it still doesn't give me a category for movies.
i really need to get that movie back because it was 9.99 and i refuse to let my money go to waste!

Films can currently only be downloaded once from the store, which I think is a requirement from the film distributors, so they won't show in the Purchased section for re-downloading. Have you not got a backup of it on, for example, an external drive or CD/DVD ?

Move to previous message instead of more recent message?

I just switched from Thunderbird to Mail, and was wondering about the order in which you can read messages (after deleting one.) In Mail, I see that when I delete a message the viewer automatically takes me to the next--the most recent--message. Is there a way to change this so that it moves back to the previous message? I've tried changing the sort order to read old to new, and it still moves the viewer to the most recent message.

For me, it's been automatic. When I go into Messages to text someone who is enabled for iMessage, it sends the message as an iMessage, whether I want it to or not.
The first time my husband sent me an iMessage, it looked like it was sending it as a text, but after it sent, the bubble was blue (instead of green), and the text input bar said "iMessage" instead of "Text Message."
So from what I've seen, it just happens if the other person is set up for it. I think you'll probably have to turn off the iMessage feature altogether (which it looks like some other people have mentioned).

Video problem with movies that previously played okay

I transfer movies on and off my Touch to open up space. I previously copied a dvd using toast Titanium 8 to my touch which played fine. I then deleted it to make space. When I tried to transfer the movie back to the Touch a few days later it wouldn't copy, giving me the message "the video is not the right format..." etc.
Why would it copy over one time and not another.
Any help would be appreciated. I seem to find this to be a recurring problem with some files, even though they have been converted to iPod compatible files with Toast, which are the .mp4 variety. Same thing has happened occasionaly with iSquint.

Probably because the iTunes file has an embedded Digital Rights Management certificate which prevents unauthorised publishing of copyright music to web sites such as Youtube.

CS6 won't export movies with previously exported Quicktime .mov files in them?

On several different projects now, I've made videos which include previously exported CS6 Quicktime .mov clips in the timeline. When I go to export these new projects, Premiere will start compiling and exporting for a few moments, but then will stop and freeze up the program or even my Mac, or it will show an error message. I've tried changing my settings and everything. The only way my projects will export correctly is if they contain NO old .mov files. I'm trying to do a demo reel, so I kind of need those old files. They aren't even old, I exported them out of CS6 a few months ago. Why isn't Premiere exporting correctly and is there any way to fix this?

There are files, and there are files... the important thing is what is inside the file?
MOV (or AVI or MP4 or ???) is a wrapper that may contain many things... not all of those things edit well
Report back with the details of your file, use the program below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

Is it possible to move my previous conversations from the Messages app from my old Macbook Pro to my new one?

Both are running the latest Messages 8.0. New messages are coming in fine on both computers but I would like to have my previous conversations moved over to my new computer if possible.

Are these active messages or ones you have saved? If active, make a new post and the new computer should pick them up if the setup is the same.
