Swap Error: Windows Azure is currently performing an operation on this deployment that requires exclusive access.

When swapping our deployments for a web role, we are receiving an error, "Windows Azure is currently performing an operation on this deployment that requires exclusive access."  We have been waiting patiently for over 48 hours and the error
persists.  We have deployed/swapped many times before without issue.  The dashboards do not show any known Azure issues at this time.  We are stuck with an out-dated deployment.
We have deleted the staging deployment and tried again and it still does not work.  It appears to be an issue with the production deployment.
Other threads state to create a support ticket.  So we have attempted to do so with the following scenario:  We are a BizSpark Plus partner and have MSDN tickets available to use for support.  It bites that we have to use 1 for this Azure
issue.  However,  it appears you can't use MSDN support tickets for Azure as each time you go to create a ticket, it kicks you back to Azure to force the purchase of an Azure support plan...??

If you have the MSDN support plan, please contact their local Global Customer Service center for assistance in creating a Azure support case.

  • Error: Windows Azure is currently performing an operation on this hosted service that requires exclusive access.

    Hello,
We are creating 2 cloud services in parallel with one deployment(VM Role) in each cloud service. For both requests (Sometimes only on 1) we are getting the following 409 Conflict error as a response to create hosted service POST request:
    409 ConflictError :
Windows Azure is currently performing an operation on this hosted service that requires exclusive access.
On getting the exception we have a cleanup call and in retry we are trying to create again. On each retry we are using a new cloud service name.
The error occurs few times, every time we invoke the creation of 2 cloud services with VM in parallel. And on 2-15 retries, its getting created successfully. However when we invoke 1 cloud service creation with VM, we are not seeing this error.
Not sure why this error is thrown during simultaneous creations. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Sowmya,
We are using the REST APIs for all our operations – Edit:
Creating two cloud services with one virtual machine (IaaS) each having
    two different deployment IDs.
Step by Step procedure for creating the services:
    1.
    Create an Affinity Group
    2.
    Create a Virtual Network
    3.
    Create Hosted service
    4.
Create Deployment (VM Role) under that hosted service
Step 3 & 4 are executed concurrently for two different VM Creation where it is failing with 409 Conflict error.
Also, the two cloud services are being deployed under the same Virtual Network and same Affinity Group. Apart from this there are no shared resources
    between two cloud services.
Please let us know if you have more queries.
    Thanks.

  • An error occurred while attempting to perform the operation.

    Hi All,
I am getting an error while running the report:
"An error occurred while attempting to perform the operation. Then operation did not complete successfully."
Although I can see the data coming is correct, but don't know why this error is coming.
I have seen for NULL values.
How can I see the detail log to trace the error?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Himanshu Tiwari

    Hi,
You can login as system using SQLPlus and use the DBMS_SYSTEM.set_sql_trace_in_session procedure to set trace on another Discoverer session. This should establish if there is any database error occuring in the Discoverer session.

  • Update problem. "error writing to file c:\config.msi\22be9d65.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory."

Every time I try and update to the latest version, I get an error messages saying to manually do it from tools menu. After doing that, I get an error message saying "error writing to file c:\config.msi\22be9d65.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory." I am the sole user on this computer and have full administrative rights to my computer. Why am I getting this? I REALY don't care if I upgrade or not but want to get rid of the stupid apple update crap that comes up everytime I turn my computer on. If there are no suggestiong on how to fix this issue, is there a way to turn apple update OFF?! I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

Are you running Kaspersky security software on that PC? (There's been a few reports in recent times of Kaspersky interfering with iTunes installs, with that message being produced.)
If there is Kaspersky on board, we should try some general-principles getting-past-security-software-interference troubleshooting.
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (32-bit installer file) or iTunes64Setup.exe to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the install just yet.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Any better luck with the security software shut down?

  • "Error writing to file: C:\config.msi\3a3043.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory. "

I keep getting this error when trying to update iTunes: "Error writing to file: C:\config.msi\3a3043.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory."  iTunes will not work.  Any time I try to apply settings iTunes locks up.  Anyone know how to fix this?

I had this exact same problem just now, trying to upgrade to 10.7.
I even got that error msg when trying to UNINSTALL iTunes!
After hours of frustration trying everyone's different suggestions, I downloaded Revo Uninstaller http://www.cnet.com.au/apps/revo-uninstaller-10610875/ which solved the problem.
Use it to help uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    1. iTunes
    2. QuickTime
    3. Apple Software Update
    4. Apple Mobile Device Support
    5. Bonjour
    6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Then you can install iTunes from scratch.
    Good luck

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to correct your rescue email address for potential future use

  • An error occured while attempting to perform the operation.

    Hi
I'm getting the following error message in my disco plus report.
"An error occured while attempting to perform this action. The operation did not complete successfully.

    Cause:OLException {
    Code: OLCmRefException::eNullRef
    Args: OLCmRefException::eNullRef
I have searched the forum but have found no usefull information for me.
The problem occured when I added a calculation to woorkbook that was working perfectly fine before. Now I can't even remove any item or calculation (or anything) from the worksheet.
I then edited the calculation to just show "1" instead which allowed me to remove that certain calculation, but I can still not remove any item.
Please ask if more details are needed.
What can have caused this problem, and is there a way to solve it? Do I have to redo the entire report?
    BR
    Robert

    Robert,
We encountered this issue with our 10.1.2.54.25 installation on a Solaris OS. We are currently at CP3. We have tried CP4, 5, 6 and 7. No resolution. Oracle has replicated our issue assigned a bug # and say that they have found a fix but it will not be made available until the release of 10.1.2.3 CP2. We have requested a one-off patch for 10.1.2.54.25 CP7. They are currently thinking about it. We have been hung up since Feb. '08 and not be able to resolve any bugs because of this problem.

  • Error:  BACKUP A:.Trashes (current privileges do not allow this operation)?

I recently purchased a Western Digital Elements external USB hard drive, 1TB capacity. I bought this as a backup HD and figured it would be plug-and-play. I’ve owned several external HDs without issues; in fact I own a WD MyBook external drive that is a few years old which has been flawless.
In order to set the HD up for the Mac platform, I followed instructions. I plugged it in and ran Disk Utility to format it. Settings for the formatting are Mac OS Extended (journaled), with Apple Partition Map selected. I set it for one partition.
Everything apparently formats fine. I named the WD Elements HD ‘BACKUP A’. Unfortunately, when I go to run my backup program ‘_Synchronize! Pro X_,’ I cannot do a routine backup! I’ve never had any problems with this backup software, ever, including usage with several external discs (including WD external disks).
Now, when I hit click on the button in _Synchronize! Pro X_ to initiate the backup, I get an error message: ‘BACKUP A:.Trashes (current privileges do not allow this operation)’ and the program stops the operation. I can't resolve the problem. I am not performing a boot-able backup, just a regular backup.
I tried reformatting the WD hard drive several times and I get the same message.
I called Western Digital’s tech service and they also wanted me to reformat and still I get the same error message. Then they had me do it all over, this time connected to my laptop (iBook G4), but nothing changed. WD said they didn't understand the error message: after their technicians failed to get the drive to work w/my backup software, they declared the drive defective and I was sent out another brand new drive (from DELL). I just formatted the new replacement drive for my G5 and when I ran Synchronize! Pro X, I get the same error message! I reformatted this replacement drive but still it makes no difference. Gah!
I am at wits end. I searched the web but can’t find anything. I need to backup my data ASAP and resolve this issue.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks a bunch!!

    Another detail from SPX's log:
10/29/10 5:42 PM Starting backup for "Untitled 2".
Backing up THE CAPTAIN => BACKUP A. 5,783 files (5.90 GB) to copy.
    * An error occurred while preparing to delete a folder.
Current privileges do not allow the operation.
    Path: BACKUP A:.Trashes
    * 10/31/10 11:12 AM Backup cancelled. 0 files (0 K) copied.
I'll look into your recommendation a little later regaring possible damaged .plist file.
With Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC), I'm discovering that I have a new backup shortcoming. This new external backup HD is USB (actually, it's my second backup) and since the backup source is a PowerPC, Carbon Copy Cloner cannot create a bootable backup. I need to have my Apple 'Mail' program with all its archived emails, as well as my library>mail downloads, and numerous other system and user files backed up. When using CCC to back up the entire PowerPC source drive to the target USB drive, none of the above listed files are copied.
With a daily routine backup regimen solidly in place, having a second bootable backup drive (and having my mail and associated system files backed up) may not be as mission critical, although I'd certainly prefer all system files associated with my user to be on two separate backups.
However, at present I am nearing completion of a major primary drive upgrade and system reorganization, and my 1st backup drive is an archived backup from before the upgrade....I want to make certain everything is squared away before I erase that archive. Therefore, this new USB HD is my only current backup until I complete the transition. I want security knowing my system user files are backup up before I move forward.

  • I just updated to 10.9.3. I now cannot open Mail - it comes up with an error window and suggests it may be incompatible with this OS. What is the fix for this? Thanks

When I try to open Mail from the launchbar it won't open and comes up with a window saying it may be incompatible with this version of OS X.
What is the answer to fix this?!

Backup for safety on at least two reliable drives.
Reinstall using the combo update at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1746
You would be wise to quit all apps, disconnect all peripherals and preferably delete all email accounts before upgrading.
