Swap old ipod touch for newer model?

I have the 2nd gen touch and want the 4th gen.

Sell yours, buy a new one. Apple will only buy your old one at a nominal price for their recycling program. They will provide you with a gift card.

  • Exchanging old ipod touch for new one

    Hi
I'm kind of new on this forum, just made this account so be easy one me thx
kk, so the problem is th i bought an itouch on July 24th and i was wondering if I could exchange it and pay a little extra to get the itouch with a camera on it. Do you think it's possible?
I erased all the apps and songs i downloaded and it looks brand new

Apple won't exchange it, if that's what you mean. If you bought it from an Apple Store, they give you fourteen days to return a product, and after that, it's yours, and you're long beyond that time. If you bought from a dealer, you can ask the dealer, but I don't know any that would accept a return this long after purchase.
Sorry, but you'll probably have to sell your iPod if you want money to put toward the new model.
    Regards.

is there any way i can get a discount by trading my old ipod touch in for a new one?
i have the 1g and the only issues it has are from software upgrades (no-wifi) and hardware issues from bad manufacturing i guess
is it possible to get a discount?
because it angers me how apples products have ruined themselves and im the one to suffer...

Apple recycles ipods. If you bring in an ipod for recycle, then you can get a 10% discount.

  • Transfering data from old iPod Touch to new

Just picked up a new iPod Touch 4G, wanted to know if there is a way to transfer my data from my old 3G one to my new one. Would it be possible to do a back up of my old one and restore it to my new one or is there a function in iTunes I'm missing?

That did the trick! I plugged in the new one and it asked me if I wanted to start it as new or restore data from a back up.
    Thanks for the help, Sally!

  • Trade in 1st Generation of Ipod Touch for new generation of Ipod Touch?

Is there a policy on trading in my Ipod I have now and having it upgraded to the new Ipod touch? I got it for Christmas 2007 and do they do a trade in when a new model comes out? Especially if the newer bigger model is cheaper than what I paid for mine.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Not to be rude but there are many other topics on this subject.
Sadly, Apple does not have any kind of upgrade system.

  • Trading in broken iPod Touch for new one

I left my my 4th generation iPod touch on outside on a cold day and water condensation got inside. My iPod is fully functional except there's a white streak that runs from top to bottom on the left side of the screen. I went to the Apple Store and one of the employees informed me that I can do some sort of trade off for a new ipod? I don't quite recall what he said but I believe I would get some sort of discount. If anyone knows the answer or other options I might have, I would highly appreciate. Thanks!

Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod when you purchase a new one. Better off selling it yourself.

  • Transferring music from old iPod Touch to new iPod Touch.

I had a iPod touch but while I was on vacation I either lost it or it got stolen. So right now I have iTunes and my whole library that is registered with my lost iPod. I just got a new iPod yesterday. How do I transfer all these songs to my new one?

Easy.  Just restore the new iPod from the backup of the old one.  When you first connect the iPod to your computer to activate the iPod, iTunes should give you message that says it found a backup and would you like to restore the iPod from that backup or set up the iPod as a new iPod,  Say restore from backup.  Then sync the music you want to the iPod. Restoring from backup will keep all your all settings and app data but you will have to reenter keychain items like passwords.

  • Transfer playlists from old ipod touch to new one?

My daughter downloaded music directly to her ipod touch and made a bunch of different playlists directly on the touch.  She just bought a new touch and would like to transfer the music and playlists from the one touch to the new one.  Is there any way to do this?

After reading several help menus and some discussions here, I was able to solve the problem for the most part.  For those who may have the same question:
Backing up your ipod will not back up music and videos and playlists associated with them in the backup.  It will, however, add all that music to your itunes library, but you are stuck re-creating all of your playlists.  After searching, I found that senuti (itunes backwards) will do the job.  You can download a free trial, or, if you have more than 1000 things to transfer, you can purchase it for $18.99.  You can then move music, videos and any playlists that you created on your ipod onto your computer's itunes and then just transfer those onto the new itunes.  It worked really slick for me.
My only remaining issue was that the backup does not save folders that you may have sorted your apps into.  My daughter had over 200 apps that were all nicely sorted - now she has to recreate all of those folders.  Does anyone have any quick tips for this - or know how to get itunes to save that folder configuration for apps?

  • Sync old ipod touch to new pc

im trying to sync back to my (new) computer, but it wont let me. ( it keeps telling me the all my music will be erased and replaced with my i tunes libary. ther is no music on my pc.... its new.) can you please tell me how to do this... i have a ipod touch, i belive 1st or 2nd gen, with IOS 4.02.

You can only sync your ipod to one computer. Since this is a new computer, when you sync, it's warning you it will delete the ipod's contents and replace it with whatever you have in your new computer's itunes library. You can follow these steps:
1)In iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>check Prevent iPods from syncing automatically.
2)Next, go up to the iTunes Store>Authorize this computer.
3)Connect your ipod, select it, and right click. Select Transfer Purchases. This will transfer over any Apps or Music you purchased from the iTunes store.
4)Also, while right clicked, select Back up. You will want this back up when you sync your ipod with your new computer so you can restore from your backup. See [About Backups|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766] to learn what's included in a backup, but note that it does not include the items in step 3.
5)You also will need to restore from the backup made in step 4. [Backing up, updating, and restoring your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414] will tell you how. When prompted to create another backup before you restore, decline as you will use the backup from step 4.
If you had music on it that you did not purchase from the iTunes store, and you had no back up of your computer's data, then you are out of luck as far as Apple's software. You will need to get a third party solution such as [CopyTrans|http://www.copytrans.net/copytrans.php] to transfer music from your ipod. There are others, that's just one I know of.
    Hope that answers your question.

  • Replacing 3 weeks old MacBook Pro for new model

Well i purchased a MacBook Pro 13" just three weeks ago and now there is a new model launched which is of the same cost now i want to change my MacBook for the new one so how can that be possible??
will i have to pay more because i got mine for same cost just three weeks ago...
    Will be waiting for reply

You've passed the 14-day 'no questions asked' return policy so your best best would just to be to sell on eBay or some other online retailer that takes 'used' computer equipment (though your best bet is eBay).
