Swapping Color images for B&W

I'm looking for a script that will allow me to automatically swap out all the Color images in a document for their B&W counterparts. I'm thinking that maybe I could use the suffix "_bw" on the b&w versions and store them in the same folder as the color versions. Then maybe I could find a script that would look for the file with the suffix that matches the placed file and would automatically swap it out. Does anybody know (A) if this is possible, and (B) if a script like this already exists out there. Thanks for any help. --Chris

Well, it could be scripted, but a nice trick that has worked for me is just putting all color images in one folder and B&Ws in another. Close document, rename the folder, open document. ID will prompt you, and you can "update" (replace) all of them at once.

    I hired a commercial artist to create a color image for the cover of a self published book. I want a black and white image for the inside. The commercial artist has not responded to this request. How do I determine the format of the color image, I'm guessing it's Illustrator's formatting but I don't know. How can I find out if Illustrator will open the file and allow alterations? The image opens only in Apple's Pages software?

    rons,
    It seems that all you have is a raster image, presumable PNG24 or JPEG, in RGB.
    It may have been created as raster artwork in Photoshop, or it may have been created as vector artwork with the help of Illy, or as a mixture of vector and raster artwork in either application, or both combined.
    If you just need to have a raster representation in black and white based on the current colour image, you may try this, in a new RGB document (View>Smart Guides are your friends):
    1) File>Place the image (you may tick Link or untick and have it embedded);
    2) Create a rectangle with black fill (R = G = B = 0), at least as large as the image, and place it behind the image (you may ClickDrag with the Rectangle Tool between opposite corners, then Ctrl/Cmd+X+B);
    3) Select all and in the Transparnecy palette flyout click Make Opacity Mask with both Clip and Invert Mask ticked.

    I have been using lv_vfw.llb VI's for grabbing images from a CREATIVE WEB CAM ,i am able to get color images in the continues shot but when i try to snap a color image which i need for my processing i get only a monocrome image ,i have been trying to play around with the RGB weightings but i am unable to get a color iamge,it shall be of great help if you could help me in doing this as it is urgent for me.Thanks for your help.

    vicky,
    I am unfamiliar with the lv_vfw.llb, and have not used it before. However, I noticed that you stated that you are able to grab in color, just not snap in color. If this is the case, why not just perform a grab and then extract a single buffer from this grabbed data, which would likely be in color? This seems like a possible solution to the issue that you are seeing.
    Other than that, I really don't know enough about the lv_vfw.llb to be of much help on this issue. Hopefully another member of this forum will be able to assist you with this software.

  • How can we change the  color of the image for product display for different

    Hi All,
    How can we change the  color of the image for product display for different colors, to be displayed on site.
    jeff

    Hi priya,
    The requirement that you have stated is not a standard feature in ISA CRM. In order to do the same, you will need to modify the standard ISA code in Java. A common path for the solution would be as follows:
    1. Colours
        a. Maintain a text type for Color under the object - PCAT_ITM in Customizing.
        b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search within your new text type as well. (In standard it only searches in Description.
       c. Maintain all shirts colour data in the new type created in step a.
       d. Your requirement will be done!
    2. Price
      a. Use list prices for your shop and assign the appropriate condition type, acces in your catalog.
      b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search on the list prices as well.
      c. This too will be done!
    3. Accessories - This is very tricky, and will require some exploration. However, here's my opinion,
    a. Search for the standard function module, which will return the accessories when provided the product as an input.
    b. Modify this function module according to your requirement and ensure that it can be accessed remotely.
    c. Modify the JSP as in steps 1b and 2b above to call this new remote-enabled function module.
    d. Now you're done!!
    The ISA modification part is not so simple, you need a really good guy like "Sateesh Chandra" who'll be able to handle your requirements. This is all I could manage, hope it is some help to you!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nelson.

  • I can select a rating and a color label for my images, but I can not sort by rating and color label.

    I can select a rating and a color label for my images, but I can not sort by rating and color label. when I click on the filter drop down, color label is not one of the options.  how do I get both ratings and color lables as an option to sort with.

    You can Filter (not sort) on both color label and rating if you want, open the Filter Bar with the backslash key, then click on Attribute, and then select the stars and color label of interest. If you really meant "sort" and not filter, then you can't do this in Lightroom.

  • How can i compare two color images in vision builder for AI?

    What i want to do is to compare two images. I have a base color image that represents the desired colors and tones. I have another image to be compared to the base image. What i want to do is to compare this two images to know how close they are regarding contents of color and tones. In other words, i want to know how close is image 2 to image 1 (base sample)....
    I would like to know how to get the content of certain colors in an image and then compare this values with the same values from another image.
    For example..i have two sheets of paper that contain various mixed colors...i want to know the amount of green, red an blue in each image and then comapre this values.
    What i want to do is to compare difer
    ent samples of fabrics. this fabrics must be of a specified color...but due to the process they may vary in tone or even color...so i want to compare this fabrics to a amster sample to see how close they are in color and tone..
    Anything would help since i dont have experience in this type of comparisons...thanks

    VBAI allows you to work with grayscale images only. You can acquire an image, use the vision assistant to convert it grayscale by extracting the luminance plane (or any of the other color planes) and then analyze the resulting grayscale image. To do what you are talking about, though, it would really be better to get Vision for labview. You could then take color images, compare color plains, use statistical functions to determine average color values, and so on.

  • Which color space to save still images for FCP?

    When saving still images as TIFF files to be brought into FCP, what color space should the files be saved in? The Adobe color space or SRGB, or other?
    Thanks.

    sRGB/JPEG is the best because all the color information is encoded in the actual image when you create a JPEG, as JPEGs don't carry color space information with them, like .PSD and .TIFF do.
    As for sRGB, that is as close as there is to a universal color space for monitors, and you are least likely to find a surprise when you check across many monitors. The tradeoff is a reduced color gamut if you display on a well calibrated broad gamut monitor.
    The gamma matters all the way through, if you want what you see in Photoshop to match what you see on a calibrated display monitor. The newest Photoshop, and Lightroom, use a native gamma of 2.2, which matches all video displays (not computer displays). If you generate JPEGs from them, they will have a gamma of 2.2. You then need to import them into FCP with a gamma of 2.2 for the interpretation. If you go directly to DVD from there, all is fine. If you go to a Quicktime movie, you need to know what the codec you plan to use will do. ProRes maintains the existing gamma, H.264 lightens up to 1.8, as does animation. I haven't characterized the others.

    How to make a colorful Gif Image for Happy Holi 2014

    Okay, I know this doesn't answer your question, but don't get me wrong. A logo is meant to be the way it was designed - upright, no flipping/ swiveling animation. Why exactly do you want to let your logo turn around?
    If its to grab attention, why dont you consider animating the area on which your logo sits (header)? Or maybe add nice transitive slideshows on your main content area to add more interactivity?

  • Swap image for video in DW

    I want to swap an image with a flash video of the same
    dimensions on a page. The reason is that the encoded videos all
    have a useles black frame as the poster frame which is not very
    descriptive. As I have no access to the original videos to
    re-encode and select a useful frame for the video, I suppose a
    solution would be to place an image in it's spot and on click, swap
    it with the video using js perhaps?

    You may be able to achieve what you want using the SetText behavior.
    Take a look here - it's rough but it shows it can be done....
    http://murraytestsite.com/mouseoverFlash.html
    The div#flashDiv starts with a jpg inside, and when you mouseover, it switches to containing a Flash file that starts from the same frame as the image.
    And by the way, please, when you post, use a subject line that is a summary of your question.  Yours is pretty vague.  I will edit it accordingly.

  • Image Swap + Click Image Swap & Restore Help

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having trouble figuring this out and was hoping someone could help me with the code. What I currently have is a world map for my books. What I want is to have several hotspots that change the image (the world map) in five ways.
    1. When the mouse goes over a continent it swaps the image of the continent with a rollover, letting you know that continent is clickable.
    2. When the mouse goes out of the continent it restores back to the original image of the world map.
    3. When you click the continent it swaps to a "zoomed in" image of the continent.
    4. The image in #3 (zoomed-in) stays on screen until clicked. Once clicked it then returns to the original image (the world map).
    5. When the continent is double-clicked it sends you to a separate browser with that continent.
    I've got all of them figure out except for #4. As soon as the mouse moves out of the hotspot, the "zoomed-in" image returns to the original image.
    Here is the link to what I have so far: http://christopherdeldridge.com/Photo%20World%20Map.html
    Here is the code I have for one of the hostpots for one of the continets:
    <area shape="poly" coords="335,145,310,134,280,137,255,141,231,144,196,147,170,143,132,146,127,174,144,188,1 64,211,188,211,208,213,231,216,265,217,272,234,295,240,316,227,343,225,357,241,368,226,364 ,203,347,195,315,196,288,198,264,202,246,200,241,171,288,163,315,156" alt="" style="cursor: pointer;" onclick="MM_swapImage('ZenitaSatellite','','Pics/Satellite Map 2/WestVadra 2.gif',1)" ondblclick="MM_openBrWindow('Vadra Photo.html','','')"  onmouseover="MM_swapImage('ZenitaSatellite','','Pics/Satellite Map/WVadra.gif',1)" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"  />
    Thanks for the help...

    While looking through your code I see several things you should change:
    1.  Your CSS is flawed -
    <style type="text/css" media="all">
    <!--
    .hiddenlink {
    color: #000; /* same color as the surrounding text */
    text-decoration: none; /* to remove the underline */
    cursor: auto; /* to make the cursor stay as the auto cursor, not the hand */
    -->
    <style type="text/css">td img {display: block;}
    .auto-style1 {
    Note that the .hiddenlink rule does not have a closing "}", and that there is an improper opening <style> tag embedded there immediately before the 'td img' rule.
    2.  I also note your liberal use of file/pathnames containing spaces - this is a bad practice as some browsers will assume that a space is the end of the file/pathname.
    Anyhow, I have not tested this but it should work.  You need to set up a toggle on the onclick event call so that you can know which image to load, like this -
    <area shape="poly" coords="622,367,592,366,566,373,542,381,527,391,531,407,556,421,592,424,622,411" alt="" style="cursor: pointer;" onclick="if(alekandria==1){MM_swapImage('ZenitaSatellite','','http://christopherdeldridge.com/Pics/Satellite Map 2/Alakandria 2.gif',1);alekandria=0;} else { MM_swapImage('ZenitaSatellite','','http://christopherdeldridge.com/Pics/Satellite Map 2/Alakandria.gif',1);alekandria=1;" ondblclick="MM_openBrWindow('Alakandria Photo.html','','')"  onmouseover="MM_swapImage('ZenitaSatellite','','http://christopherdeldridge.com/Pics/Satellite Map/Alakandria.gif',1)" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()"  />
    So - when you click on the image, the value of the toggle (a variable specific to that particular image) is tested.  If its value is 1, the image has already been expanded, and you need to swap in the unexpanded image.  You also set the value of the toggle to 0.  If its value is 0, the image is unexpanded, and you need to swap in the expanded image.  You also set the value of the toggle to 1.
    Get it?

  • Setting color codes for more than one photo at a time

    Is there any way to set color codes for more than one photo at a time?

    Hi John,
    I will look at keywords. My issue is speed. Right now I am culling and editing an event shoot that spanned a week with 35 separate events and more than 5000 images. So I use the fastest most convenient method I can and it still takes a long time to have a completed and final shoot. On this shoot I will end up with a final set of around 1500 images. Right now I am finishing processing a show that will hang in the Deutsches Amerikanish Zentrum in Stuttgart.
    As I am sure you are aware by now, having seen enough of my inane questions that over the last two years or since Lightroom version 1.xx if I could not figure out how to do something I skipped it. So many things in Lightroom are buried and unless you have a mind like a steel trap (and think that some of you guys in the forum do) locating how to do something is not obvious.
    For example, I only learned (in the last hour) that I could assign colors as a group of selections by using Shift + number. I found this in a side head in Martin Evenings Lightroom book. I still do not know how to find a way to display the color filter "selection" set in Library mode. Is there a way?
    To top it off, Stuttgart Media University asked me if I would add a Lightroom module to my schedule this year. Now I have a compelling reason to learn all those missing pieces that I have created workarounds for. Hence the number of posts you have been seeing from me over the past few of weeks.
    I tell my class that there are no such things as stupid questions, only questions. Now I am practicing what I have been preaching for the last gazillion years. Guys like you have been great.
    My workflow is
    1. I first separate all images by event. I do that at the time of import.
    2. I do a fast pass rejecting all the obviously bad images
    3. I do a second pass grouping the images by sub-group (speeches, people talking, performances, etc.) This is where I run out of selection methods and your key-wording could work but it would probably take too much time to establish a keyword set for a single event. Where I have more than five subgroups I set up different collection sets with one collection for each sub group. However I would like to keep a single event in one collection.
    4. I then select the images to be used by color code.
    5. Next I process the final images (crop develop etc) by collection.
    6. Last I output the set according to client requirement.
    If you have a better workflow, I am all ears.
    By the way, what is your photo specialty and where are you located?
    Jim

  • Using a background image for the buttons in spry menu

    Hi All,
    Going nuts here.
    I'm using the vertical spry menu widget w DW CS3 and trying
    to alter the css style sheet, so that I can use a li class for each
    of the 14 links on this page, with an upstate and a hover state
    only. (the focus, and hover while down will be the same as the
    others, to keep it simple and not too distracting)
    The page is here that I will be replacing the entire
    background image in sidebar1 and sidebar2 with a custom spry menu
    with the 14 li classes for 2 seperate menus:
    http://audibleimagesav.com/blank_doc.html
    Has anyone used a background image in place of just using
    bkgrd colors and borders for the spry menu ?
    I am aware of the attributes that the help docs suggest that
    need to be altered as listed here :
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Spry/1.4/help.html?content=WS0BB04E11-1BE3-4a67-BC94-BE7DA 93A0159.html
    I have been working on just an experimental page, that is now
    hacked up, however if you want to see that it is here with only the
    first list item coded:
    http://audibleimagesav.com/site%20theme%20ideas/sprymenu_exp.html
    The spry css menu widget for that page is here:
    http://audibleimagesav.com/SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarVertical.css
    So in short, has anyone done a bkgrd image for the main menu
    (not submenu) in a spry widget?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Default Colors Limit for Graph in OBIEE 11g

    Hi, I'm using OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.6.6)
    When I use a graph (either bar or pie), I notice that OBIEE only has 12 default colors to use in the graph. So it starts from blue, red, and so forth, until the 12th color, then for the 13th color it will use the same blue again, and so forth.
    The problem is that my column values are more than 12 (it could be 20, it could be 30, etc). So, the repeating colors doesn't make any sense for the graphs.
    Could somebody please advise me on how to increase the default number of default colors used by OBIEE (so that it will be like 50 default colors set automatically by OBIEE, just in case)?
    Thanks so much!

    Hi,
    type HexaDecimal colors in google you will find n number of colors with the code number, just use this color codes by adding# before every code in the column format properties.
    for ex: #ccc99
    Follow this follwoing link

  • How to find out embedded raster image is Black&White or Color image?

    Is there any possibility to find out the embedded raster image is Black&White, Gray image (or) Color image in "illustrator cs3" without using color mode shown in "document info" pannel. Kindly advice me, the possibilities and solution. And also any scripts avilable for this?
    Thanks.

    Or you could select the embedded image, and open the Window>Document Info panel. Select Embedded Images from the fly out menu on the Document Info panel. This should give you the color mode and more info on the embedded file in question.

  • Problem using IMAQ Array to Color Image vi

    I am doing some pixel manipulation & while going from an image to an Image Pixels (U64) array using IMAQ Color Image to Array VI I cannot see the image once it is modified.
    I am...
    1) converting the image to the 64 bit pixel data using IMAQ ColorImage to Array.vi
    2) doing the manipulation
    3) converting back to an image using the IMAQ Array to ColorImage.vi using the 64 bit input.
    What I get is...
    1) a black image with data behind it... meaning... if I take the magnifier tool and go to the approximate locations of my image where I expect to find the manipulated data, it is there.
    2) cast that image to a 32 bit image & still get a black image for the output.  The data however is no longer there and appears to have been stripped.
    3) no error's out of any VI's...
    TIA

    With Vision 2009 situation is not better.
    It happened because U64 image displayed in full scale. So, if you have full range of intensities (from 0 to 65535), then you can see something. But if your intensities in small range, for example, 0...255 in all channels, then you will see black image.
    Feel differences:
    It should be possible to map U16 values into U8 display range  with given range (like IMAQ WindDisplay Mapping does), but right now this feature available for I16 images only, not for U64. What you can do is following - map each channel to U8 (with linear LUT, for example), put channels together, then display 32 bit RGB instead of U64.
