Swapping not possible in Portal

Dear Friends,
I have a report which has weekly and monthly version with keyfigures in rows. I have calendar week in columns. The output is fine in BEx. I am able to swap calendar week with other chars which are in free chars.
But on portal I am not able to swap or drill down horizontally or vertically when swapped. Swapping has become impossible. In web template I have table and a chart. Awaiting suggestions....

This will happen only if you are using the 3.x templates - try executing the query on web from Bex 7.0 and then try the same. It might be possible that you are running on a 3.x template.
Also if you do try to swap - do you get any warnings or errors ?

  • Getting error on Portal : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible

    hi friends,
While executing a bapi,I am getting this error : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
I am calling a bapi with only one required parameter from Portal as per the design of the bapi and the bapi itself is calling some other functions internally.
I a using ECC 5.00 i,e. EA-HR 5.00. On SDN it is suggested to Apply OSS Note 1018036. But it is applicable to EA-HR 6.00 and subsequent releases,I guess.
Need your suggestions and also need to know if the above Note can be applied to EA-HR 5.00.
P.S: Points would be assigned, thanks is advance.

I have raised log and trace levels like mentioned in OSS 1054145 to get more information. But maybe anyone can already give me a hint how to hunt this down?!?
    Best Regards
    Juergen Kuechle.

    Hi Juergen
From the error description,  I can see that the problem you have with activity report is due to 'DuplicateKeyException ' .
The error message above indicates that the Aggregator is trying to
insert to the database data which has already been aggregated.
The data already exists in the WCR_* database tables due to a previous
aggregation which has failed, stopped its work, and hasn't deleted the
raw data yet. The next time an Aggregator will run, it will try to
    re-insert the already-inserted value.
The failure could occur due to variety of reasons, starting improper
functionality of the Aggregator and ending with a momentarily
    disconnection to the database.
The common reason for this exception usually occurs on a clustered
environment, where every server node runs an aggregator of its own.
    AN UPDATE:
    A fix was implemented starting from NW04-SP21 / NW04s-SP13.
    WORKAROUND :
The suggested workaround for this matter would be to access the DB and
delete the specific problematic duplicated record from the relevant
      table (WCR_WEBCNODESTAT in this case).
If there are more than one problematic entries, you will notice it again
within the next hour's trace file, and will need to perform the deletion
      process again.
In case there are a lot of duplicated records  this might consume a lot
of time. In this case we would recommend to either delete records per
timestamp or to delete all the content from the DB tables and start
over. This solution is applicable only if you do not need the data that
was gathered up to now. (you do so by going over all the DB tables which
start with WCR and delete the contained data).
As mentioned in Note 1054145 to fix this problem

    Alex,
I'd be curious to know what SAP says.  We have the same problem.  Not sure how/if we broke it, but we can no longer create iviews using the wizard.  I opened an OSS msg a while ago, but did not get much assistance.
We have recently upgraded to 2004s and it did not resolve the issue as I hoped it would.
If SAP provides a solution for you, please post it.
    Thanks,

  • Use of Input Variables in SQL-Queries Sometimes Not Possible

Only in simple SELECT-statements the use of input variables ([%0], [%1], etc.) work without problems.
In more complex queries the use of these variables is not possible (e.g. SELECT-statements with sub-queries, sometimes when UNION is used - but I couldn't find any general rule when the problems will arise; sometimes two different queries with the same query-structure behave in different ways when these variables are used).
In these cases the query is not executed - not even the input-window to enter values into the input variables is displayed. The query stops with some strange error-messages in the status line. These error-messages doesn't have any relation to the actual query - sometimes it refers to field-names never used in the query or refers to syntax error which do not exist.
If the input variables are replaced by constant values there are no problems so there can't be any syntax errors - the only difference is the presence or absence of input variables.
    Example:
provided that the queries have a certain complexity
      SELECT ...
      FROM   ... OINV Tx ...
      WHERE  ... Tx.DocDate >= [%0] ...
      does not work,
      SELECT ...
      FROM   ... OINV Tx ...
      WHERE  ... Tx.DocDate >= '1.1.2007' ...
      works!
Does anybody have run into the same problem and now if it is a bug of SAP-BO or an error on behalf of the user? Does anybody know a way to correct the problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Frank
By the way: Are there any rules where exactly input variables can be used in a query?
Only in SELECT-statements? Where there exactly?
    In statements outside of SELECT?

Only SAP Partners Can access service.sap.com/notes, but I think it is possible to search in them from the customer portal as well.
Here are summary of the two notes mentioned before this:

The following query is an example for how to define variables in long
queries rather than using "Fixed Declares".
You need to use exactly the same template as follows, do not delete
    "comments" from this query.
The only changes you need to do :
    1. In the first and in the fifth rows you need to select the table to which you would like to relate the variable e.g. in this example, the variable is related to the table VPM1 - 'Payments to Vendors - Rows'.
    2. In the fourth and in the eighth rows you need to select the field to which you would like to define the variables e.g. in this example, the variable is the field 'DueDate'.
    /SELECT FROM [dbo].[VPM1] T0/
    declare  @fromdate as datetime
    /* WHERE */
    set @fromdate = /* T0.DueDate */ '[%0]'
    /SELECT FROM [dbo].[VPM1] T1/
    declare  @tilldate as datetime
    /* WHERE */
    set @tilldate = /* T0.DueDate */ '[%1]'
    select  OVPM.docnum, VPM1.dueDate,VPM1.CheckNum, VPM1.Branch,
    VPM1.BankCode, VPM1.CheckSum, OVPM.CardName,
    case
when OPCH.docnum is null then VPM2.docEntry
    else OPCH.docnum
    end as 'docnum'
    from OVPM INNER join VPM1 on OVPM.docnum = VPM1.docnum
left join  VPM2 LEFT JOIN OPCH ON VPM2.DocEntry = OPCH.DocEntry
    on OVPM.docnum = VPM2.docnum
    where OVPM.Canceled = 'N' AND VPM1.DueDate >=@fromdate AND
    VPM1.DueDate <=@tilldate

Using SAP Business One Survey Variables (parameters) in a 'Set' SQL Statement can give an error in the Query Generator.
    For Example:
    Declare @Num as numeric(2)
    Set @Num = [%0]
    Select T0.DocNum
    From ORDR T0
    Where DocNum = @Num

    FAQ
    Solution
In such cases you need to put in an SQL remark statement a reference field in the DB for the Survey Variable (any field).
For Example: (to make the above query work)
    Declare @Num as numeric(2)
    Set @Num = /* T0.DocNum */ [%0]
    Select T0.DocNum
    From ORDR T0
    Where docnum = @Num

  • XI IDoc Acknowledgement - Acknowledgement not possible status

    Hi Experts,
    My scenario:
SAP IDOC - XI - jdbc (oracle)
    Problem:
Getting the infamous "Acknowledgement not possible" status in SXI_MONI. I only need the transport acknowledgements back to SAP not the application acknowledgements. The messages themselves route fine from source to destination.

check if this blog helps you:
    /people/saravanakumar.kuppusamy2/blog/2005/01/20/configuration-tips-for-a-business-serviceintegration-process-to-send-back-ale-audit-idoc
    From the blog:
The system acknowledgement sent by the file adapter is converted into an ALE audit message and sent
back to the sender SAP system by an IDOC ACK channel configured in XI(an IDOC receiver adapter).

  • Working with documents via BEx Analyzer not using the portal

    Hello,
i read that we are able to create (work) with documents (comments) via
BEx Analyzer. When i want to add a comment how it is described in the
help we get connected to the portal. We dont want to use the portal for
that. Therefore we searched a way to skip the portal. We read that in
BW Versions before 7.0 the portal was not connected but since 7.0 we
have the portal connectivity, but it should also possible to not use
the portal and to access directly the BI Server. I searched for the
Customizing to do so but i could not find it where to switch to the old
    logic.
And another question is when we use the Portal with the knowledge base . The documents are stored in the document framework (SKWF). Is it the same as the Datawarehousing Workbench --> documents. This storage we want to use.
Can anyone give me a hint?
    Kind regards,
    Murat

    Hi Murat,
We are also facing the same issue of when trying to create/access the documents from BEx analyzer it is connecting portal , we need to bypass portal and directly access the document browser in BW server.
In your thread you mentioned it is done. So can you please let me know how did you enable the old configuration?. It will be very much helpful to us.
    Awaiting for your reply.
    Thanks,
    V.Senthilkumar

  • Optional variables within report  not shown on portal

    Hello,
    I have got following phenomenon:
I created a report with the Report Designer. This report contains different queries that all use the same optional variable. Our first tries showed the selection screen for this variable within the portal.
After we changed the technical name and the description and published it into portal again the selection for the optioanl variable isn't shown anymore.
It's no general problem because on queries for example the optional variables are shown.
Has anybody an idea what could be the problem and how we can solve it?
    Greetings & thanks
    Bettina

    Hello,
if I execute the report within the Report Designer there occurs a drop down menu on the variable screen "Available variants:" with on item "Report with variable".
I can save this variant - but it's not possible to choose this special variant for publishing into portal (ok, maybe it works but my first tries didn't work). Do you have an idea how this setting can be used in portal??
    Greetings & thanks
    Bettina

  • Acknowledgement not possible though the message was sent successfully

    Hello Everyone,
I have the following scenario below.
    Sender = R/3
Interface = IDoc - stored procedure
    Receiver = JDBC Adapter
I need 2 kind of acknowledgements.
    1. If the message got an mapping error in XI/PI we need to send "any kind of ack" back to the R/3 to inform the Team that something happens during the mapping.
I do get a ALEAUD success message when a IDOC is sent to PI .
    2. If everything is ok and the message was sent to the MSSQL- I gett an error like "Acknowledgement not possible". AnywayIi don´t need a ack if mapping in XI/PI is successful as it is a asynchronous scenario.
I think it is trying to send back an ack because i have a receiver IDOC channel defined for the R/3 receiver.
How can I get rid of this Acknowledgement not possible  information ?
    Thank you ,

    Ivan

    Hello
The most important information is (again) missing: which object reference is initial ("NULL")?
The ABAP dump will tell you.
Below I show an example how this can happen (and be avoided):
    LOOP AT lt_accountings INTO ls_accounting.
      lo_po_account ?= ls_accounting-accounting.
    ENDLOOP.
" QUESTION: Are you sure that lo_po_account hold an instance ???
" If LO_PO_ACCOUNT is empty the following statement will give you the dump.
    ls_mepoaccounting = lo_po_account->get_data( ).
" And that is how to avoid this (at least the dump. Whether your logic is still ok is another matter...)
    CHECK ( lo_po_account IS BOUND ).
    ls_mepoaccounting = lo_po_account->get_data( ).

  • IDoc - JDBC, acknowledgment not possible

    Hi Guys.

  • Homogeneous System Copy - Installation of Database Instance not possible...

I try to create a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 Portal based on a homogeneous SAP System Copy. Therefore I already installed in a first step (first option within SAPINST for installing a target system of a system copy) the Central Services Instance successfully on a machine. In the next step I'd like to create the Database Instance with SAPINST but I cannot choose the DB instance that I already created based on a restore within the new DB server (MS SQL 2008 Cluster installation). I can only choose the local machine for using a DB instance but there is no MS SQL Server installed!
Do I have to start SAPINST on the DB server itself which is not possible/allowed (due to operating/organization reasons)?
Is there any SAPINST parameter which I have to use for telling SAPINST that the DB is located on a different server?!?
    The documentation just says:
The target system is installed using the exports from the source system.
Choose the installation services exactly in the order they appear. For more information, see the MS SQL Server installation guide for your SAP system at http://service.sap.com/installnw70.
On the SAPinst screen SAP SystemDatabase make sure to select Homogeneous System Copy (MS SQL Server-specific: Detach/Attach or Backup).
    Thanks for supporting and Regards,

    OK, SAP Note 1076022 says:
SAP installation packages on SAP Service Marketplace
On March 27, 2008, SAP released the Netweaver installation package SR3, which supports SQL Server 2008 (R2). Note 1152240 discusses the details and lists some restrictions. Make sure you carefully read Note 1152240 and use a recent enough installation master DVD.
    SAP Note 1152240 says:
If you want to perform a system copy of an SAP system that is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 on SQL Server 2008 (R2), you cannot use the Installation Master and Kernel DVD that you received from SAP or downloaded from SAP Service Marketplace (SMP). Instead, you have to do the following:
    - Patch your runtime libraries as described in SAP note 684106
    - Use a modified Installation Master DVD. For more information, see section "IV Creating a modified Installation Master DVD".
    - Use a modified Kernel DVD. For more information about how to create a modified kernel DVD, see SAP note 1480785.
What problem is fixed by using the modified Installation Master DVD? Is it possible to install the DB part on a server apart of the local machine where SAPINST is run (my initial question/problem I want do resolve)?

  • BI Reports not working in Portal after SPS 15 upgrade

    Hi,
We have applied Support Pakage Stack 15 on our BI systems (NW7) and now none of the BI reports in the Portal seems to work anymore.
We receive the following Portal Runtime error when trying to open any BI report from Portal:
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
No further info is displayed in the log.
I am thinking it might be possibly due to authorisations.... Has anybody else experienced this issue and have a possible solution?
    Regards,

    Hi Radhika,
The problem was that the BI system was on a higher Support Package Stack level than the Portal. We had to install the same Support Package Stack on the Portal.
Is this not possibly your issue as well?
