SWCV DEV - QA

I have imported a map change from DEV to QA, but the changes were not took place in the QA. Tried importing Message Mapping only, Namespace only(http://test.com/test1), and entire SWCV. None of these worked.
Then deleted the namespace http://test.com/test1 in QA by editing manually. Now when I do the full SWCV or partial import again none of the objects related to (http://test.com/test1 or the namespace (http://test.com/test1 is visible.
I do not want to delete the SWCV and re-import the whole thing because there are other namespaces which are being used.
Did anyone face this kind of problem ? If yes please answer.
Thanks

  • Dev to testing SAP SWCV

Hello i have this following scenario :
Its an SAP SWCV , Every thing already imported in Testing box as well when installed , the only thing extra i will be making is importing IDocs. Now we have the same scenario in dev as well , now even after configuration : when IDocs generated i see messages only in dev box ? what might be the reason ?

    Hi Krishna,
Check the Business System in the Test environment. Is it pointing to proper system? Also check the Adapter Specific Properties in the Business systems.(Open the Business system->Menu->Services->Adapter Specific Properties).
Also make sure that all configuration is done correctly by checking business systems,Adapter configuration in the Directory.
    Hope this helps,

  • Error in Updating SWCV SLD Info

    Hi
When i try to use the 'Update SLD Information' under tools in the enterprise repository i get the following error -
GUID of software component version in SLD has changed To import the software component version with the new GUID, create a new software component version
Why does this occur and what can be done about it?
    Thanks
    Riaz

    Hi,
    1. In your SLD of dev, do you have the same GUID for this SWCV ?
if yes,  you should do a clear cache of your IS (PI web page -> administration -> cache -> etc..) + SXI_CACHE.
    2. if no, eventually, think to this non-normal action.... but...
Do you have this SWCV in another PI environment (exm PI qua) with your GUID (this one of ESR)?
If yes, check if you have this SWCV (same GUID) in the SLD of this other environment (exm XI QUA).
if yes, maybe a solution to avoid your conflict in ESR dev / SLD dev is to do an export of this SWCV from SLD qua to SLD dev... but... that's clearly not the normal way... with perhaps other impacts (I don't know your landscape, your SWCV dependency, your development phase vs production and/or maintenance)... so that's just an idea which could be thank. • Mass deletion of SWCV in ID ?

    Hi,
I know how to delete one by one a SWCV in the ID, but is there a mean to do a mass deletion of SWCV in ID ?
I explain my pb: a guy import ALL SWCV of the SLD into ID... Thus we have ours but among hundreds of SAP that we don't use....
    Funy game !
    Regards.
    Mickael

    Hi PT,
In fact, I already deleted one by one all "non-wanted" SWCV in the IR of our PI DEV environment.
It was not really an amazing game... but we did it ! and loose many many many time...
And now, I see that it's the same in our QUA envrionment :-(((
and I presume it will be the same for our pre-prod and then PROD environment... I hope no, but it certainly the same guy who made the same error (several times!).
So I try to find a quick easy solution.

  • Transporting from DEV to QA

We have 3 different sld's for DEV,QA,and PRD systems.
i need to transport my XI objects from DEV to QA.i'm working on standard XI contents.
i need answers for my following questions.
1.if i use full export for transporting SLD from DEV to QA,can i use the same tecnical systems and business systems in QA?
Can T.S and B.S also get transported from DEV to QA?
2.In such case how to define business systems groups and transport targets?
pls don't send any blogs..i've all the blogs
    thanks
    Abhijit

    Hi,
1.if i use full export for transporting SLD from DEV to QA,can i use the same tecnical systems and business systems in QA?
Can T.S and B.S also get transported from DEV to QA?
You can use same technical systems and Business systems.
    1. Go to Dev SLD and Export all your SWCV, Products, Technical and Business Systems. This is nothing but saving of the SLD objects as a CIM file on your local machine. You would also need to export the Technical And Business System poitning to your XI integration server .
    2. Go to the QA SLD and then import these objects exported in Step 1 in QA SLD
    3. Now, create the QA Tech and Business Systems in the QA SLD
    4. Go to the Dev Business systems imported on the QS SLD and you will have an option Transport Targets. In this map the Source Business System to the Target Business Systems.
Make sure that all Dev Business Systems have the correspodning Transport Targets for the QA Business SYstems
    5. Now if you import the ID objects in QA , the business systems name will be renamed automatically.
2.In such case how to define business systems groups and transport targets?
You need to create Transport Groups on your QA SLD. One for Dev and One for QA. You can create Transport Groups only for Integration Server Business Systems.
And this is why you would need to export the Dev XI technical System and Business System from the SLD of Dev and Import it into the QA SLD.
    2. Create the transport groups and then assign all Dev Business Systems to Dev Group, all QA Business Systems to QA group and then create the transport targets.
You use the Option related Integration server in the Business Systems to assign a Business System to a Group.

  • Copying prod/SWCV across systems.

    Hi
If  there is a parallel XI landscape with one XI 3.0 system(DEV,QA and PRD) and other PI 7.0 system (DEV,QA and PRD) , both running in the same landscape , and there is requirement of transferring/ copying  some software components (some interfaces) from the XI to PI system.
Both XI 3.0 and PI 7.0  are having their own separate SLD each.
Can anyone please tell what would be the series of steps that need to be performed on the SLD and XI/PI systems for copying the SWCV.
    thanks
    Nilesh.

U can export the SWC as zip files from one XI server and simply import it in other SLD of PI system. Aslo see this

  • Namespaces dissappeared under SWCV

    Hi,
In my ESR of XI dev (only), for two SWCV among 5, I have no more the Namespaces in the tree (left side). They completely disappeared !
I continue to see them if I open the SWCV (right side) or by doing a search. But why I cannot see them in the tree ?
It seems this effect arrived after using the button "Tools > Update SLD Information" of one of these two SWCV (both are link by a usage-dependency).
I checked the SLD of XI dev and XI Quality, and SWCV have the same definiation and usage-dependencies.
    Any idea ?
    Regards
    Mickael
    P.S: PI 7.11 SP06.

    hi,
    I solved this issue.
It seems it was like a conflict between "Underlying SWCV"  of my SWCV (in ESR) and the usage-dependency defined in SLD: my SWCV was linked to another SWCV. And this last one is itself link to another SWCV and after that again to my SWCV... So something like SWCV -> SWCV1 -> SWCV2 -> SWCV (the same at the beginning).
My solution: by waiting to re-modelize (correctly) the SWCV dependencies, I kept the SLD definition and I deleted the entry under "Underlying SWCV" in SWCV (tab "details")... and now the namespaces of this SWCV are reappeared...

  • Is SWCV required to be present in production SLD? Debate

I have DEV and QA XI systems pointing to one SLD and Production XI is on another SLD. I created Product and Software Component Version in DEV SLD and developed my scenario. After transporting to QA and subsequently to Production, the scenario runs fine despite the SWCV not being moved from DEV SLD to Prod SLD. So it appears there is no reference to the SWCV from SLD after the design is done the first time and transported completely (including the SWCV from Repository not SLD).
Is this how it is supposed to work and what is the need to maintain SWCV's in production SLD if they are not referenced at runtime.

I think this is possible if you scenario used business service, rather than using Business Systems maitained in SLD, not clear with your situation.
Your SWCVs in PRD are orphaned, I had similar experience that I have particular SWCV used for my mapping test, however, one day when i checked SLD, I found that the SWCV is missing from SLD.
Someone else has deleted it. but I did not come up complete scenario to test.
I also imported SWCV from one system to another one which does not have corresponding SWCV maitained in SLD, import is success, no error reported.
Nice to see you raise the question, I do not have definite answer either. To see what other expert respond.

  • Transport using CMS between Dev, Qual and Prod

    Hi,
I'm a little bit curios if there are others out there using CMS for transport in a XI production line -
    Dev -> Qual -> Prod.
My company is using it, and it seems to me that at consolidation stage, you can only select transports related to a SWCV and NOT select transports individually or related to a namespace?
    Anyone?
Our version is XI 3.0 SP14 latest patch.
    best regards
    Torstein Nesby

    Hi Torstein,
I saw your other threads related to this as well as your thoughts on 'Quality Feedback' (which I agree with btw). It sounds like you may have been able to come to a resolution to a problem that continues to cause me issues. Can you review and provide some guidance on the following please?
    Current Environment / Setup:
    - XI 3.0 system, SP12
    - Single SLD with appropriate Group / transport Targets setup
    - Single IR Track, Single ID Track
    - CMS usage for transports. Successful from Dev to QA, QA to Prod has not yet been attempted.
    - SWCV are setup in IR and are specific to tech system / product. For example there is a SWCV for Peoplesoft where all related message / data types for Peoplesoft are located. There is another SWCV for SAP, another for Oracle,  etc.
    - Message Mappings and Interface Mappings are created in the target SWCV. This means that a single interface will normally consist of 2 SWCV to be migrated.
    - Currently migrations are bundled in Transport (export) lists vs change lists when migrated out of the Dev environment
    - As an aside, I understand the approach of effectively setting up a SWCV per interface with Usage dependencies across SWCV's for reuse of data / message types, however this is the architecture that was recommended at the start of development for this first release.
    What I am attempting:
    - In the Assemble tab in the transport Studio I want to be able to use a 'Subset Assembly' option to selectively choose which transport / change lists to allow to go to production.
    - Based on reading the SAP Help in the XI system, numerous SDN Posts, the SAP docs "Using CMS for XI 3.0" and "How to Transport XI Content Using CMS" it appears this option should be readily available for both the IR AND ID.
    Issue:
    - For both the IR and ID when I go to the Assembly tab and get the subsequent popup (after "Assemble Components") the "Subset Assembly" option is not visible. Supposedly when going to this Assembly tab, selecting a specific SWCV (not the default 'All Components' option), and choosing "Assemble Components" generates a popup with a checkbox listed for "Subset Assembly". I get the popup in both the IR and ID but the "Subset Assembly" checkbox is not part of the window.
The docs are somewhat unclear in this area. It alludes to seeing this option after the initial migration to Prod is done (which again we have not done yet), but only mentions this in the context of the ID. Another doc alludes to seeing Emergency Transports created in CONS (QA) as if that may be a pre-req to having that option, but is a weak reference.
    Can you advise on:
    1) Do you see the "Subset Assembly" option in the popup?
    2) If so:
    a) Did you see it prior to the inital migration to Prod?
    b) Do you see it for both the Directory and Repository in the Transport Studio Assembly?
    3) Any other thoughts on why I'm encountering this issue?
    Thanks for your help!
    Darin

  • SWCV RFC/IDOC Import settings

I have to input client number for SWCV. We have different client number for DEV, QA, PRODUCTION system. I have to change this parameter for each build of integration content.
How do you solve this problem?

    hi Denis,
    no need to do it
you import IDOC/rfc only on dev (as they are the same on quat and prd)
and then you do standard XI transports (of repository) to quat and prd
just like the rest of your integration repository objects

  • How to Edit SWCV

    Hi All
we have import a SWCV from the SLD, but when i am tryring to edit the SWCV in the IR the Edit & Save option is disabeld.

    Hi All
we have created a complete interface in the Development system. the type of interface is Proxy to Web service.
Now to move the Interface from Development to Quality system, we have exportd the SWCV from DEV SLD to QA SLD.
Import the .tpz file for the IR & ID in the Qualtiy System.
Now the issue is when we are going to SPROXY transaction in the Quality system of the ECC, we are getting the option of Display only. we don't have option for regenerate,Craete,Delete the proxy etc.
and when i am trying to excecute the proxy using the Excecute button i am getting the Error as OBJECT_IS_NO_PROXY Object CLASS_NAME <my proxy class name> is not a proxy object.
could any one of you please tell me why i am getting this error in SPROXY transaction while executiong & why there is no other option for the proxy.

  • SWCV  Dependency For Mapping

    Hi All,
In my scenario I have a message mapping/Interface Mapping  where the source message type/Message Interface  is in the same SWCV but the for the Target message type/messageInterface  I want to refer to a message Type in some other SWCV .
My question is do I need to create a Dependancy between the 2 SWCV so that my SWCV is dependant on the other SWCV . Bacuase when I tried to create the message mapping , I was  able to refer to the Target MessageType in the other SWCV without creating the Dependancy.
Is a Dependancy really Required .
    Regards
    Nilesh.

    Hi Nilesh,
You would still need to create a dependency , because when you want to transport the IR objects from your DEV system to QA, without dependency your scenario would NOT work, since it needs the Interface defined in SWCV1 to be transported prior to the transport of SWCV2.
If you have the dependency set, your Transpport management system would prompt you to transpot the SWCV1 before you trasnport the second SWCV.
YOu will not face any issues as long as you are in the same system (eg: DEV)

    Ravi Kanth Talagana

    HI EVERYONE
I MADE AN EXPORT/IMPORT OF A NAMESPACE FROM QAS TO DEV. WITH THAT I CORRECTED SOME INCOSCISTENCES.
BUT NOW I CAN NOT CHANGE ANYTHING, IT SAYS:  "SOFTWARE COMPONENT VERSION CANNOT BE CHANGED".
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME TO SOLVE IT OR TELL ME HOW TO RE-IMPORT THAT SWCV  WITHOUT LOOSING LAST MODIFICATIONS??

    HI,
To be able to edit contents of a software component version, open the software component version in the Integration Builder, goto change mode and select 'Objects are Modifiable'.

  • SWCV dependancies set at ESR

    Hi,
We have set up SWCV dependancies at ESR by adding the required SWCVs by clicking on the SWCV -> Details -> Underlying Software Component Versions.
Please could any of you let me know if there would be any impact on this during transports. If there is,then is there anything which will have to be set up at the SLD level as well.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Induja

Say for example in DEV you have SWCV1 that depends on SWCV2 and you transport SWCV1 but not SWCV2 to QA. Obviously things wont work at QA part
Hence both need to be transported.
