SWCV in SLD

Hi,
we have added one new software component to the product in SLD.
But when defining Process Integration Scenario in ESR for graphical representation, on choosing product...... not able to see newly added SWCV?Kindly guide us?
And also suggest the steps to transport the added newly SWCV to product from SLD to Q system?

Login to ESR and do the follwoing steps:
1. Go to Environment Tab (top most section)
2. Click Clear SLD Data Cache
A pop up wil lbe displayed saying SLD Data cache cleared .

- Try again. It should show now if the SWCV is created for the particular Product and saved correctly in SLD.
> Suggest the steps to transport the added newly SWCV to product from SLD to Q system
- For PI 7.1 and above
1. Goto IR/ ESR of Q system
2. Right Click on any object and click New
3. Under Work Area - Select Software Component Version
4. Check Import from SLD box and press Display
5. A pop up will display the list of exixting SWCV from SLD.
6. Select your required SWC and press Import.
7. Click Create
For others (3.0 and 7.0) do as mentioned above
IR/ ESR --> Tools --> Transfer from SLD --> Import SWCV --> select your SWC and import

I am using PI 7.1. And there is no option showing Tools --> Transfer from SLD .
It has only Import Design Objects option.
Please advice.

SWCV in SLD versus Configuration

Dear all,
Although I have assigned our own SWCV to the technical business system in the SLD, this SWCV is not visible on the tab 'Other Attributes' for the corresponding Business System in the Configuration. Moreover, the IDocs imported into the own SWCV are NOT visible in the tab Receiver->Inbound Interfaces and/or Sender->Outbound Interfaces.
Any idea what might be wrong?

Hello John,
it seems that your Technical System has not the necessary relationship to your product. You have to add this first and configure your Business System again.
Then you will see the SWCV under Other Attributes for the corresponding Business System in the Configuration.
Steps to solve your problem:
SLD:
navigate to Technical System --> choose your system
     navigate --> Installed Product
          press ADD
     check the Installed Software Component Versions for your Product
          all boxes you need, should be selected (tick)
navigate to Business System --> choose your system
     check the Installed Products (must also have a tick)
     now you will see the (example)
     Installed Products: JohnsProduct
     Software Components: BAPI, 1.0 of John.com
                               MATERIALSTAMM_TO_SUB, 1.0 of John.com
Open Integration Broker and check your system again.

Error in SWCV-Update SLD information

Hi Experts,
I have imported a XI content from marketplace and the same is imported successfully and i am able to create end to end
scenario.
But when it check SWCV->Tool->Update SLD information i am getting the following error.
Cannot update SLD information because there is no entry with key <604><sap.com><ECC-SE><01200615320200010995><ESA ECC-SE 604><509ac7568dff11dcbb6fc5790a115642><ExtSwc> in the SLD, or the ID 509ac756-8dff-11dc-bb6f-c5790a115642 already exists
Do I need to check if something wrong with PI system version and XI content not in sync.
I check in SLD the entry for 604 is not there.
My doubt is , in SLD -SWCV-XI content i am not able to see ECC SE 604 but 603 is present ;Does 603 comes by default durign
installation.
Do i need to upgrade my PI from 7.1 to 7.1 EHP1.

Hi Abhi,
Please check if the software component versions ESA ECC SE is installed, which should be the perquisite for Enterprise services implementation .
Generally the Xi contents are shipped with the sap releases so you might be having the XI content already in SLD which comes during installation in a similar way as we have SAP BASIS.
If you download the XI content , you just need to keep the .tpz file in the server under import directory or repository.
once you do a import from server , the component will appear and can be used for scenarios.
But before thinking to upgrade please do check with any other Xi content import and see if it is shown in the SLD
after import in ESR.

Creating SWCV in SLD for downloaded repository objects?

I want to download some SRM xi content from market place, but i guess on download i get the tpz files for repository,
my concern is, if i import these tpz files into the repository, what are the prerequisites?
1. do i need to have these SWCV already in the SLD?
2. how will i create the SWCV in the SLD?
please help..

Hello Sudeep,
To import .tpz file in XI you have to put that .tpz file in import directory of your integration server.
D:\usr\sap\PP7\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import
Then from IR go into Tools->import
It will show all the .tpz ready to import, select the desired and then import.
Here PP7 is my client it may be XI3.0 also for XI3.0
When you will import .tpz file in IR you will find the software component in IR for that .tpz file.
But as of PI 7.0 the SWC will not be created in SLD but you have to create it.
IN PI 7.1 we have concept of autosynchronization between SLD & IR.
Not creating SWC in IR will not cause problem at Run time but you will be in trouble at Run Time.

Error in Updating SWCV SLD Info

When i try to use the 'Update SLD Information' under tools in the enterprise repository i get the following error -
GUID of software component version in SLD has changed To import the software component version with the new GUID, create a new software component version
Why does this occur and what can be done about it?

1. In your SLD of dev, do you have the same GUID for this SWCV ?
if yes, you should do a clear cache of your IS (PI web page -> administration -> cache -> etc..) + SXI_CACHE.
2. if no, eventually, think to this non-normal action.... but...
Do you have this SWCV in another PI environment (exm PI qua) with your GUID (this one of ESR)?
If yes, check if you have this SWCV (same GUID) in the SLD of this other environment (exm XI QUA).
if yes, maybe a solution to avoid your conflict in ESR dev / SLD dev is to do an export of this SWCV from SLD qua to SLD dev... but... that's clearly not the normal way... with perhaps other impacts (I don't know your landscape, your SWCV dependency, your development phase vs production and/or maintenance)... so that's just an idea which could be thank. (coud be)

SLD deleted and SWCV remaining in IR - what now?

strange situation:
There was the idea to build up the SLD new. Don´t ask why...
So the basis guy deleted the old SLD and created a new one. All the content from our own SWCV created there was lost!
Unfortunately we had some SWCV with interfaces developed in IR. The new SLD has now no SWCV for the ones existing in IR. I need now a usage dependency to one of the SWCV from a another one.
As the SWCV get a unique id I think this cannot work any more because the newly created SWCV in SLD will have a nother id. Is the only solution to start in IR from scratch? (New SWCV in SLD -> Import to IR -> Start development again)

I woult try to find out the database tables where the link between SLD and SWCV is.
If use use SXI_CACHE --> Software Components.
Then F1 on Top - or basis softwarecomponent
Then "Verwendeungsnachweis"
--> Maybe you find the DB-Table
Scan the table via SE16 and make a screenshot to see the actual entries.
After that import a new SWC into IR.
Than scan the DB-table again.
If the is now one more entry, it seems that you found the correct table.
If this works, create another SWC as in your old SLD.
Now look which ID was given by the system.
Try to overwrite now the existing old ID with the new-ID.
Make notices what you have done in the case you have to REDO your work.

ESR objects after re-importing SWCV into ESR from SLD

We created two SWCVs in SLD and imported into ESR.
I_MYCOMP_SWCV_ONE
I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO
I created few design objects like DTs MTs SIs like dtA, dtB, siC in I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO
but later, for some reason, to enable usage of objects of I_MYCOMP_SWCV_ONE to be used/referenced in I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO, we had to create dependencies in sld, something like I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO depends on I_MYCOMP_SWCV_ONE,
after we defined the dependency in sld, the SWCVs need to be reimported into ESR, and my previous design objects dtA, dtB, siC will be lost if i reimport I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO
is there any wayout, in which all my previous objects will not be lost, (so that i need not re-create manually) after importing I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO

A software component version with the name I_MYCOMP_SWCV_TWO already exists
To update the SLD information, use the relevant menu option in the editor for software component versions
But it is possible to update SWCV from the content from the sld.

Is SWCV required to be present in production SLD? Debate

I have DEV and QA XI systems pointing to one SLD and Production XI is on another SLD. I created Product and Software Component Version in DEV SLD and developed my scenario. After transporting to QA and subsequently to Production, the scenario runs fine despite the SWCV not being moved from DEV SLD to Prod SLD. So it appears there is no reference to the SWCV from SLD after the design is done the first time and transported completely (including the SWCV from Repository not SLD).
Is this how it is supposed to work and what is the need to maintain SWCV's in production SLD if they are not referenced at runtime.

I think this is possible if you scenario used business service, rather than using Business Systems maitained in SLD, not clear with your situation.
Your SWCVs in PRD are orphaned, I had similar experience that I have particular SWCV used for my mapping test, however, one day when i checked SLD, I found that the SWCV is missing from SLD.
Someone else has deleted it. but I did not come up complete scenario to test.
I also imported SWCV from one system to another one which does not have corresponding SWCV maitained in SLD, import is success, no error reported.
Nice to see you raise the question, I do not have definite answer either. To see what other expert respond.

GUID of SWCV is not matching with SWCV in ESR(IR).

Hi Experts,
I have developed two interface under same existing SWCV of existing interface.
These two interfcae are under separate Namsapace declared into SWCV of existing Interface.
Now we need to export the ID and IR objects to deploy the Interfaces in Client enviornment.
I am facing one problem now. Earlier Client was on 7.0 now they have upgraded to 7.1.
    We have done the .tpz deployment into their server. but now the GUID of SWCV is changed by imported .tpz file.
   During import at client side conflict occurs. we settled the conflict.
   SWCV of SLD 's GUID is not mached wih IR SWCV's GUID - this message is coming when we check with tool->check SLD value.
Please give suggestion.

            In client's Server one of the Interface is already in use and In Production System it is working.
           We have developed additional two Interface under same SWCV under respective namesapaces.
          Th .tpz we have to deployed is the delta developemnt only. but now when we have deployed this .tpz in their enviornment, the Conflict occcurs , we have settled this conflict and additional Interface's IR objects are imported.
Now we are able to see all objects under respective namesapace.
Problem is now of SWCV's GUID is overwitten by import. it showing our sever 's SWCV's GUID.
So Client SLD is not Matched with SWCV of IR.
Please suggest in this context.

IR - Error connection with SLD

Guys,
I m trying acess the SWCV in Integration Repository, but i go in IR -> Tools -> Import SWCV from SLD...
occurs the error "Cannot open Software Component Versions from SLD..."
I have opened Log text and appears the follow error:
com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.LcrException: HTTP response code: 403 (Forbidden)
Details: Im using PISUPER user for login in Integration Repository.

Create dependencies 4 SWC in SLD which are directly imported in to IR

We have imported the SWCV 6.02 from SAP Marketplace to use the predelivered content. When we wanted to create a dependency in SLD for my own SWC, I was not able to find associated SWCV in SLD for 6.02. Any one has any idea on how we can update the SLD content to include this new content pointers. We tried importing the latest CR data for SLD but that did not work out and threw some errors.

Hi,
you can create a new SWC with the right vendor and transfer the objects into. From the menu "Tools / Transfer Design Objects", in former releases it was something with "Release".

One product having multiple scenarios, for our better convience and visiblity and easyly readable/understandable purpose we can create the namespace under the SWCV.
Software component having multiple versions, representing the version it is called the SWCV.
Simple Ex: Microsoft is a product and Word windows are called software components and word 2000/2003, windows Xp/Vista are nothig but the software component versions.
I think now you are clear, why SWCV are using.

Namespace Creation for my SWCV

Guyz,
i just created a swcv and i right-clicked and select 'Namespace' item. In edit mode, though the section 'Namespaces*' is appearing , there isn't any placeholder to type my namespace value.....
i'm on NW04s ....is it something i missed while creating SWCV in sld ? In SLD while creating swcv, i added SAP BASIS 6.4 & 7.1 as dependencies at 'installation time' context...
any pointers pls ?

Are you able to see + symbol , after opening Namespace window i.e SWCV->Right click Namespace ?
If it is non edit mode, there are check boxes in the screen, it is almost down the screen ..i think like "modifiable" etc..check that.. Once you do that, you can see editable screen and there are + sign to add/create namespaces.
