Swedish "åäö" letters in outgoing mail from E90

Hi
I can type åäö-letters in my outgoing mail on my E90 but when the recipient opens the mail the åäö:s is shown as hieroglpyhs, for instance &o7 or %ae.
Which setting is my E90 should I set to which alphabet-standard?
regards,
Johan

Hi,
I had the same problem with my E90 and the origional FW. With use of my Nokia keyboard I got proper characters on the small "outside" screen, but had to use - to get å on the inner screen. All this was solved when I installed the 300xxx FW. BUT, bluetooth was then ruined and has not worked since! So, update FW is you dare... This is really a problem for Nokia that they must solve. Mobile Windows is a good alternative!

You cannot, but you can delete the mail in your Sent folder.

  • Why is Outgoing mail from my iPad not appearing in Outlook 2010?

I have set my iPad to synch with my gmail account.  In turn my gmail account downlaods and synchs with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 PS.
Everything works except that when I send mail from my iPad or reply to incoming mail from my iPad, my replies, whilst synchronising with my gmail account, and showing in the Sent folder in gmail, do not download to Outlook.
If I log into gmail (from my email or via Safari) and send mail direct from gmail these messagesshow in the Sent box and DO show in iPad gmail outbox and Outlook, though they show in the Outlook inbox!
So the only mail that gets stuck in gmail and won't download to Outlook is outgoing mail sent from gmail in my iPad.
I can work around this by sending a bcc to myself of every outgoing message I send from iPad.  In this case the Send copy shows up in the Sent folder in gmail and does not download to Outleook but the bcc copy arrives in nthe Inbox in gmail and does download to Outlook.  Its ugly but works.
A proper fix would be better - does anyone have any ideas?

For Exchange GMail there is a way to set your iOS device to use a different "Send As" name than when using a computer.  Unfortunately in your case, you can set your computer to send an alternate name but the iOS device can only send the default GMail name, which is the name associated with your account.  Ideally, you would like your iOS device to use the alternate and let your computer use the default.
But if you want to play around with this ...
1- On the iOS device itself, use Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync.  You will have to log in at the prompt with your GMail account info.
2- Select the iOS device name (in case you have multiple iOS devices using Google sync).
3- Select "Enable 'Send Mail As' for this device" and Save the changes.
4- Using a computer, log into your GMail account and select Settings/ Accounts and Import, then at the "Send mail as" prompt select "edit info" (off to the right).
    5- Change your outgoing name.
The name you specify in #5 will be used by your computer, but the iOS device will continue using the original (default) outgoing name.  You can see why you need the opposite in your case, so unless you can change the default to be your wife's name and then set the alternate to be your name, I think you're out of luck.

  • Is it safe to disable outgoing mail from one of my accounts?I

I have two e-mail accounts, but want to eventually stop using one of the accounts and use my gmail account full time.
Sometimes when I send e-mail it will use my old e-mail address as the sending address. I want to cease using the old e-mail address to send mail so it will decrease people replying to and using the old address.
How can I stop that address from being used for outgoing mails? Can I change to "None" for Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), or will that create problems for me?

Hi & welcome to the forums!
See if this from Mail>Help... helps...
"Setting the account your email is sent from
If you have multiple email accounts, *you can choose to send all messages from the same account*, or you can select a different account for each message you send.
To choose an account from which to send all messages, choose Mail > Preferences. Click Composing and choose the account from the "Send new mail from" pop-up menu. By default, messages are sent from the account of the last viewed mailbox.
To choose an account for a message you're composing, click the Account pop-up menu and choose an account.
If the Account pop-up menu is not displayed, click the Customize Header pop-up menu in the header area and choose Customize. Select the checkbox next to Account and then click OK.
To change the order in which accounts are listed in the mailbox list, drag the account mailboxes into the order you want in your Inbox. You can also rearrange the account order in the Accounts pane of Mail Preferences."

  • Apple Mail switching my outgoing mail from receipt e-mail to another e-mail within my accounts

    Hi ~
My Apple Mail account keeps switching outgoing mail accounts on me, nilly-willy. If a mail comes in under a particular address, i.e. [email protected] it will send a return e-mail from another address within my accounts, i.e. [email protected], EVEN if a) the account shown in the FROM line is the original [email protected]; and 2) my signature for that particular account shows in the e-mail.  It seems to happen only with the 5 G-mail accounts synched into the mail program, and not with a business address with a different server.
Any suggestions to fix this particularly pesky problem?

I have something similar.  I have 4 email accounts one being Gmail.  No matter what account receives the email the replay is automatically directed to the Gmail account.  There have been some discussions out there about problems with Gmail accounts.  This may be connected to problems.

  • Advice on SMTP setup for outgoing mail from internal devices only?

    Hello.
I'm trying to set up a basic SMTP server using OS X Server (10.5.6) so I can have devices (Server Monitor, my UPS power system alerts, router alerts, etc. — all on the local LAN/same subnet) send out mail when they need to send out alerts. These devices do not have the ability to configure SMTP authentication, so I just need to set up this outgoing SMTP server on one of my Xserves so they have a way of sending said mail.
Would anyone be willing to provide information on how I'd set this up?
I thought I had it set up correctly, but whenever I try and send a test email (from my mail.app account), I never receive anything at the intended delivery address (an email address hosted by a 3rd party)?
    Thanks!
    Kristin.

The default mail server configuration should accept mail from local clients and relay it to the destination domain. The only gotcha would be if the mail server thinks it's authoritative for the domain you're sending to (e.g. you're sending to '[email protected]' and this server thinks it is the mail server for 'yourdomain.com'. There are various ways of overcoming this - the easiest of which is to tell the server it's not authoritative for yourdomain.com.
The mail logs will give you an indication if that's the problem - it'll either say it delivered the mail locally, or that there was some problem connecting to the remote mail server.
Either way your ISP can't be blocking outgoing SMTP traffic (well, they could, but it would be pretty stupid of them), but your internal traffic shouldn't be touching your ISP's network anyway, which may indicate a configuration problem.

  • CANNOT SEND OUTGOING MAILS FROM HOM

i am unable to send outgoing mails with my computer from home and other few locations. However, in other places such as public libraries, coffe shops, apple stores etc the outgoing mail works perfectly. does anybody know where the problem can be? i work from home and is getting me out of my nerves. Thank you for the help

    Does web mail work?
Have you checked the outgoing mail server settings?
That's the smtp address of your internet provider.
You may need to change the outgoing mail server for each location.

  • Server rejects outgoing mail from PC's but will send mail from Macs

I am having a strange problem with outgoing mail all my mail clients are pointed to the server as smtp server. All mail from Macs are delivered without any problems but mail from PC's are universally rejected and I can't understand why. I did not have this problem with 10.4.11 and we do not authenticate. Here is the reject message:-
+Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.+
    +Subject: hello 16:34+
    +Sent: 26/08/2010 16:34+
    +The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:+
    +'user@cp-lighting..*' on 26/08/2010 16:34+
    +504 5.5.2 <PHILSPC>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname+

    This should help:
    http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/view/145/84/
Will work without authentication as long as your network range has been entered into the postfix settings.
That said, you should require all your clients to authenticate to send through your server.

  • Outgoing mail from a pc has someone else's name attached

I have an apple id, my daughter attached her name to mine when she got her macbook.  Now when I send outgoing emails from a pc through icloud, it shows her name as the sender, though it's my email address.  When I signed in to set up my username on here, it showed her as the name attached to my email address.  How do I fix this?

Go to appleid.apple.com and click "Manage your Account". Sign in, then you should be able to edit the name linked to your account.

  • Outgoing mail from Mail.app received as junk/spam mail.

I am having a problem, and I can't seem to find an answer. I hope someone can help me. I have owned my machine for a little less than 2 years, and this problem has always been present, but now it is serious.
When someone receives my emails sent from the Mail app in OSX, it is not sent as my My Name <[email protected]> it is viewed by me in my sent folder, and received by others as Administrator, with no address attached. Often this leads to my emails being sent directly to their junk/spam folders. I am a designer, and have been trying to send clients pdfs, as well as communications to others of importance...and they are not receiving these emails. I changed my address card in OSX from administrator to my real name, and have searched for eons for a solution, all to no avail. I am in desperate needs for a solution, please someone help!?!?!?

    never mind I fixed it......
it was a short name issue....

    <b>Problem is</b>,
When user assigned substitute for him a period of time, Substitute person gets N number of mails for a particular workitem.
I need solution for how to restrict those N number of mails. In this scenario, substitute user should get a single mail for that workitem.
Please let me know that If I'm NOT clear.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Subbaruj,
Ok well as you've changed the original program you should eliminate your changes from your enquiries.  Also make sure you have all the OSS notes applied to RSWUWMFL2 and copied to your ZSWUWFML2.  There were some notes on substitution issues - which perhaps you have applied to the standard program but not your copy?

  • IPhone can send outgoing mail, Macbook can't from same wifi

I have a local wifi spot that I spend a lot of time at and all of the sudden I'm unable to send outgoing mail from my MacBook but ougoing mail works fine on my iPhone using the exact same wifi.
Mail works fine when I'm at home, and my house, as well as the public wifi have the same ISP. (smtp.cox.central.net)
The connection doctor has a green light on and says it's connected to all outgoing servers but stil won't send anything.
I've read tons of threads and have stumbled onto a couple hints to add the ISP's DNS numbers to my account settings, but I don't know how to do that.

The SMTP servers you're using will probably need to be adjusted, when you send from the local wifi spot. That or you need to use authenticated SMTP (like .Mac).

  • Problem with outgoing mail server since getting .mac account

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out.
I've been using Mail for a few years now with several mail accounts. (Yahoo!, gmail, and my own domain mail). I have always been able to choose which account to send my outgoing mail FROM. That is, until I purchased a .mac account.
Since signing up for .mac all my settings are still there for my other accounts, but I have not been able to send even ONE email from any account except the .mac account.
I have tried setting up the outgoing mail servers and resetting them, but nothing works. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?
I'm starting to consider using Yahoo! mail online for all my mail, but I would prefer to be able to click mailto links and sent right from Mail.
    Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
Where and how are you connected to the internet with the laptop, vs the desk top -- same venue -- wireless, etc?
Is the account you have set up, the same primary account with Charter that you use on the Desktop?
On the desktop Mac, in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information, when listed as the Outgoing Server, does smtp.charter.net have any Username appended to the name?
Not sure if it could be case sensitive, but have you tried lower case letters for smtp?
    More info, please.
