SWF Animations Run at Startup - Before Reaching Imported Screen?

Hello,
I imported a simple swf animation into captivate. The animation runs smooothly enough. However, the problem is that the animation which is on screens 3 has already finished playing by the time the user reach that screen???
I read some of the posts and could not find a solution to this preculiar.
Does anyone have any input that might address this issue?
I'm using Captivate 5 (eLearning Suite 2).
Thank You
iaustin

Hello,
Perhaps, If the only problem, is that the animation might loaad on a new window on --OPEN File or URL option, you can get around that by defining, that it should continue playing on the same window.
Like this--
Alternately you can assign an Advance Action to --
Enable Object SWF on Slide Enter 3. And similarly keep it disabled on Slide --On Enter for Slide 1st and 2nd.
Thanks,
Anjaneai

  • Swf animation runs incorrectly in captivate 6

    I created a simple maze game with question gates in Flash CS6 which runs fine in the flash player, but when I import it into captivate 6, the player runs through the walls.  Any ideas why?

    Here I go again.
    I found the solution in these forums. Here it is:

  • Mail runs at startup

    Possibly not a Mail issue but Mail runs at startup and I don't want it to!
    I looked in Sys Prefs at the Login items under Accounts expecting it to be there but it isn't. I put it there, restarted, removed it and restarted again hoping that would persuade it, but no, it still runs at startup. Any ideas?

    Thank you Tony, this may be the cause but I don't have access to the machine at present to be able to check. Let me explain:
    The machine belongs to a friend who lives quite a long way away from me. It was bought from a non Mac specialist who "set up" the machine before handing it over. (Mail has always run at startup.) I went along yesterday to help sort out several issues and was successful with all except this one. I've never come across a system wide 'run at startup' before and certainly on my own machine the folder you mention is empty. If it's not empty on my friend's machine, is it safe to delete the file(s) we find there and just use the user 'open at login' system instead for anything we do want to run at startup?

  • Imported AS3 swf animation not looping

    I have tried all of the settings in Captivate 5.5 but can't keep my animation looping and not sure why.
    I've imported an AS3 swf animation (just a simple movieclip animation of a blinking line) into Captivate 5.5. I placed the animation at the end of the timeline on the slide, and want the blinking line to stay there and continue to blink (i.e., animate) even after the slide has come to the end of the timeline.
    I've tried everything I can think of. I assumed that checking the "Loop" setting in Captivate for the animation would do it, but it seems to have no effect.
    I am pretty sure what is happening is that the click box on the Cp slide is forcing the animation to pause. In other words, the imported animation's timeline is being forced to pause too. Is there a way to stop this?
    Any ideas?

    Hi there
    Try inserting a Click Box that pauses the slide about half a second before the end of the animation on the Timeline.

  • Noob question. SWF file runs as slideshow, does not allow navigation.

    Hi. I run my own company, and hired a professional to design my website in Flash. I have the editable .fla file in my possession and given that what I need is really simple, I´d like to do it myself and start knowing the tool by reverse engineering an already built site.
    My problem is this:
    I need to update some text information, really simple, so I did open the .fla document in Flash CC and changed the text.
    However, when I publish/export the .swf file, it runs in the browser as a slideshow, and it does not allow for navigation.
    The animations run in a loop that cannot be stopped, and the buttons are disabled.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

    Error one:
    if (Link[ID] == undefined or Link[ID] == "") {
    bttn.enabled = false;
    } else {
    bttn.enabled = true;
    Error two:
    if (isNaN(percentage) or percentage == 0) {
    percentage = 0;
    left.half._rotation = 0;
    right.half._rotation = 0;
    this._visible = false
    } else if (percentage<=50 && percentage>0) {
    left.half._rotation = 0;
    right.half._rotation = (360/100)*percentage;
    this._visible = true
    } else if (percentage>50 && percentage<100) {
    left.half._rotation = (360/100)*(percentage-50);
    right.half._rotation = 180;
    this._visible = true
    } else if (percentage == 100) {
    left.half._rotation = 180;
    right.half._rotation = 180;
    this._visible = false
    I studied Graphic Design waaaaaay before everything was done in a computer, but I do have some rather limited computer skills.
    I´d like to know, if at all possible, what caused this errors, so I can avoid making the same mistakes in the future.
    All I did was change some text/update pictures in the flash file, how come the code got messed up?
    Thanks so much for your time.

  • Need to run php script before the Flash component kicks in

    I have a slide show component in Flash which uses an xml file to load images. The xml file, however, is created dynamically when the user selects which slide show they want to see. How do I run the php script BEFORE the slide show component has a chance to look for it? Usually it begins as soon as the .swf is run.
    thanks,
    chop

    thank you for responding.
    I'm still new at as3 so forgive me for needing details.
    I searched adobe for help and came up with the following to import the component. However, it seemed too easy to be true and so it was. I received errors when I ran it. The component is a commercial one called SlideshowBox and is in my library with that exact name.
    //add a component to the stage
    import fl.controls.SlideshowBox;
    var aSlideshowBox:Button = new Button();
    addChild(aSlideshowBox);

  • SWF animation issue in Captivate CS4

    Hello All...
    Okay, I have been working on this for hours, and I am getting pretty frustrated.
    I have an swf animation that I need to insert into Adobe Captivate CS4 slide. I have thested the swf file and it opens and plays just fine. I am able to insert it into the Captivate slide just fine, and it plays - however it only plays for about 27 seconds then cuts out. The total swf animation is approx. 40 seconds long.
    Why is it cutting out the animation? When I import the swf file, it plays the entire animation before I actually insert it (in the Animation window). However, the "duration" only shows 27.7 seconds. Why is it only showing a duration of 27.7 seconds, when the actual animation is longer?
    I extended the slide to be over 40 seconds in length, and I am playing the animation for the "duration of animation" - but it is still stopping early!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated!

    Hi there
    I'm wondering if the issue might be a mismatch of frame rates. You need to investigate the frame rate the SWF was created at. Captivate typically uses 30 frames per second. So if the SWF animation has a different frame rate, perhaps that explains it?

  • Issue with looping swf animation - conflicting settings

    I have a captivate project where I use a click box “stop” to inhibit the slide from moving to the next slide. (The click box set to no action, pause until user clicks.)
    This forces the user (using the player control) to click the “forward” button to advance to the next slide. This is by design.
    I have a Flash swf file embedded in one of the slides. This Flash file does not have a stop function. It is meant to continuously play (loop). I also have this Flash file set to loop in the Captivate project file.
    The problem is this…
    The click box “stop” (pause until user clicks) seems to be causing the SWF animation file to stop at the end of the slide. I want it to keep playing.
    Does anyone have any idea as to how to do this? Is it even possible since I am essentially giving conflicting commands?
    I suppose I could embed another SWF file (that would command the Captivate slide to stop) but I am unsure how to script the swf to pause the Captivate project. I could also use an animated gif, but I would like to use a swf file if possible.
    Any ideas?
    TPK

    Hi 1970Skylark,
    I still haven't been able to figure out the mechanism, but I have been able to determine something rather interesting (but mystifying).
    If I take and drop a SWF (set to loop) or animated gif (set to loop infinitely) directly on a Captivate slide, and include a click box "stop" like I usually do, then when the slide timeline reaches the "stop" both types of animations stop.
    However, if I first drop either of those animations and drop them in a PowerPoint slide, then import the slide into the Captivate project, then the animations continually play (even though the slide timeline might be at its end).
    I haven't a clue as to why importing the PowerPoint slide changes the play behaviors of the animation, but it does. The problem with this approach is that I want to keep the file size of the project files down. Importing PowerPoint slides seems to cause some serious file size increases that I want to avoid.

  • .swf animations stop half way through?

    Hi!
    Urgent question about a problem that I would love to have fixed by tomorrow.
    I am using Captivate 3, probably trying to do some things that are not really recommended. I have recorded multiple demonstrations of a software product, then exported them as .swf files. Each of the demonstrations is about 15-20 slides long.
    I have a 'master' project of about 70 slides in length.
    I want to import the .swf files into my master project, so that about 15 slides will have one .swf on them each. I have a pretty complex menu navigation system - I want people to be able to go back and forth between the slides with the animations quite seamlessly from slides with static information on them.
    I am publishing the project as a standalone file - my idea is to have it as an autoplay CD. File size at the moment is about 12 meg. I have only imported 3 of the animations so far, and I already have a problem.
    When two of the animations get about 2/3 of the way through, they stop. I have tried inserting a dummy 15 second 'loading' screen on the page before them, and that made no difference.
    Can anyone help explain why I am having this problem, and suggest a solution?

    First of all, are the .swf animations recorded at the same frame rate as your master project? Default is 30fps. They need ot be the same so everything rols along at the same pace.
    Secondly, check the timeline of each slide is sufficiently long enough to allow the animation swf which it contains to play right through.
    What happens when the animation is finished playing? is there something pausing the slide before the animation has finished like a button or is the navigation of the slide set to auto return the learner to the menu slide when completed?

  • In Flex 3 how to Stop and Replay .swf animation created in Flash

    Hi
    I have an animation file that is created in Flash (I think
    CS3). In Flex if I import it inside a SWFLoader or if I import it
    as an Image. It plays once and stops. Then I can not replay it. I
    also can not pause it when its playing.
    I have tried few things based on help and code available in
    the Web to of no help. I have tried to convert the swfLoader
    instance to a movie clip like so to stop
    var c:MovieClip = swfLoaderHeaddress1.content as MovieClip;
    c.stop();
    <mx:SWFLoader x="53" y="116" width="206" height="255.3"
    visible="true"
    source="assets/animations/curatorial/ZoomHeadress_2nd.swf"
    id="swfLoaderHeaddress1"/>
    It does not work.
    I have not created the .swf animation, I am not sure how it
    is done. I belive it may not be using any ActionScript as I know
    the artist who created it does not know ActionScript. Does
    something need to be done inside the Flash to support the stop and
    play? Or is there a way to restart/replay stop a .swf animation in
    Flex 3 no matter how (and whether or not its developed using
    ActionScript) its developed in Flash?

    One way is she has to add some AS code to the animation, or
    you can do it yourself.
    In swf there must be something like this:
    var connReciever:LocalConnection = new LocalConnection();
    connReciever.client = this;
    connReciever.connect("fromFlexToSWF");
    function myFunction(parameter:SomeClass):void {...}
    And in Flex:
    var connSender:LocalConnection = new LocalConnection();
    connSender.send("fromFlexToSWF", "myFunction", [..args]);
    The other way: in case with just play/stop there is a way to
    resolve this by using that Flex Component Kit (or maybe "Flex Skin
    Design Extension", i do not remember), it is something like she
    just adding labels to animation frames then she exports it with
    Flex Kit and then you can work with it like with an object with
    "states".

    Are you saying you want to check the hd for problems?
    Verify a disk
    As an alternative, you can verify that the filesystem on the disk is correct. You will not be able to repair the file system.
    I suggest that you use disk utility to verify that your startup disk is OK.
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
    Start up disk utility.  On the left pane view, you will see a list of all your disks.
    Click on your startup disk.
    Click on the First Aid  Tab.
    Click on verify.
    Hopefully your disk will verify.  If not, you have to boot from your installation DVD and run Disk Utility from there to attempt to repair your file-system.

  • Choppy Playback of small swf Animations

    Ok, this may be a very a simple and easy question...  I would just like to know what would be others workflow or process per my given situation. We are creating a virtual classroom and building several swf animations to support the content for the classroom. Our swf files are no more than 80kb. When we do share my screen to show the files the playback of these animations are choppy, extremely pixelated and not playing back real time. (Starting to gather that is a bandwidth issue even though we do have our setting set up for the highest bandwidth during our rehearsals.)
    Another option we have played with is uploading our files to the adobe connect server and creating a link. This still seems a little choppy, a slightly better quality but still not the quality of the original animation. Plus, we are not to keen on having to pull up a browser window throughout the presentation/ classroom to show our animations.
    My question is what would be your best workflow or process to present these small swf files so there is no skipping/ choppy or degrading the quality of these animations in a Adobe Connect virtual classroom?
    Appreciate any feedback or advice. Kind of newbie to Connect :/

    The screen sharing option makes sense, as the screen share runs around 5 FPS, so it would be visually choppy, and would have lag.
    Are you custom building the SWF files? I would use the Collaboration SDK to make it so your SWF files can play in the sync'd mode in the connect room, or you can just load them into the Share pod as is and each individual will view it independantly. Just make sure you are making the SWFs in AS3.
    SDK documentation is listed here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobeconnect.html

  • LSMW of runs with a mandator export/- import

    At present we migrate our system landscape of SAP the releases 4.6C on mySAPERP2005. Before the migration of the quality assurance system (FQ2) we imported here in the mandator 151 a mandator export of the productive mandator (FP2 system/mandator 150) with the profile SAP_ALL. Shortly thereafter the Upgrade on mySAPERP2005 was then accomplished. The specialized divisions announce now that the defined LSMW of runs differs in the FQ2 system from the FP2 system (production) and/or still the conditions before the mandator import has. It looks apparent in such a way, as if the runs and/or the definition those does not stand behind it at all was copied. Does the LSMW become runs with a mandator export/- import with copies? How can we examine that?
