  • Cisco 2950 - 24 WS switch express install issue

    Hi Guys,
Got a Cisco 2950 24 port switch that I need to setup and I can't seem to get the page for Express install
In firefox when trying to connect to 10.0.0.1 I get the message "connection was reset" in internet explorer "page cannot be displayed"
when doing a arp -a I can see that the switch does get the IP address 10.0.0.1 and I can also ping the switch ok.
Have followed the instructions and reset the switch and all the mode lights are green etc.
my ethernet adapter does get the address 10.0.0.2 given from the switch (however connectivity is limited / not sure if this is supposed to be like this or not)
have tried earlier versions of firefox (even 1x 2x 3x 4x) etc and also older versions of IE incase there is something weird going on there. have also tried using a mac and trying safari which gives similar results.
So i think the http server is enabled on the switch, as it should be by default when it is reset etc. according to cisco's documentation.
I know using the console cable would be alot easier however I don't have one available and not easy for me to get
any ideas? has anyone ever successfully been able to use this express install  web page on a cisco 2950 before? It has Version 12.1(22)EA14 so express install should work on this switch!
    cheers,

managed to get hold of a console cable. checked switch and http-server command was enabled so have no idea why this feature was not working...
did some research and someone suggested that it is fussy with the version of java you are running on the pc ( requires old version of java?) .. possibly that may have an influence who knows?
Think ill just carry around a Console cable in future!

  • Please Help: Flash Express Install Problem

    Hello,
I am having a bit of trouble getting Flash Express Install to
work correctly with my Flash Detection kit. Basically, I have
    followed the steps in [URL="
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/fp8_detection.html"
Hoekman, Jr.'s article[/URL], but when I test the Express Install,
    I get the following errors:
    (1) When I test it out with all my files on the server, the
browser crashes and the upgrade fails.
    (2) When I test it locally on my Mac OSX hard drive, I am
prompted to quit my browser in order to perform the upgrade. It
should allow me to keep the browser open and load my SWF once
    updated:
"Express Install... prompts users to upgrade to Flash Player 8
if they do not have it already and, when installation is complete,
returns the user back to the page that started the process."
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
    -Scott

I'm having the same issue, Slunceford. It works perfectly on
PC IE but the Mac requirement of closing the browser (Firefox)
means that the user leaves the page entirely. Any advice
    yet?

  • I need help with express install

I am attempting to use the express install option in the swf
    object discussed
    here
I have used this to embed flash content to overcome the
'click to activate' issue, but so far, I have been unable to get
the express install option to work.
I removed flash player using the
“uninstall_flash_player.exe” and now the embedded flash
content doesn’t show up, I get the content between the
“<div id="flashcontent"> This text is replaced by the
Flash content. </div>” as expected but express install
    doesn’t run.
I have expressinstall.as and swfobject.js in the root folder.
This is the code from the html page:
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashcontent">This text is replaced by the
    Flash content.</div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var so = new SWFObject("rolloverBG.swf", "mymovie", "700",
    "200", "7", "#bdbdbd");
    so.addParam("useExpressInstall", "true");
    so.write("flashcontent");
    </script>
In the fla file, the first frame has the #include
    "expressinstall.as" code in place.
I think I have all the parts in place and deployed
appropriately, I would appreciate any assistance.
The test page I am using
    can be
    found here.

The following are important in a roaming network:
The Express must be connected back to the 2Wire router by Ethernet.
The Express must be configured as a bridge.
The Express must broadcast a wireless network that uses the same Network Name (aka SSID) and wireless security type/password as the 2Wire's wireless network.
In a roaming network, the Express will "extend" the 2Wire's network by creating a second wireless network with the same characteristics. You can literally roam with a wireless laptop between these networks and still be on the 'same' network. However, if the Express is placed outside of the signal range of the 2Wire, then there will be a coverage gap and that can appear as though the network is not extended.

  • Did 10.5.2 break Adobe's Flash Player express install?

I hit a Flash site, it requested I update my Flash Player using the express install. I did this, it downloaded a package, which opened an installer asking me to close the browser. The browser was frozen (tried both Safari & Firefox), so I have to force-quit.
Is this the same for anyone else on 10.5.2?

The Adobe Flash Player seems to be having issues with 10.5.x in general. Some people have to use the latest update, some people had to revert to an older version. The Adobe installer doesn't seem to always work correctly from Standard accounts. The Adobe Uninstaller certainly does not work correctly from Standard accounts.
Try logging in to an Admin account, then download the Uninstaller and the the Flash installer from the Adobe site. Uninstall Flash using the Uninstaller. Then install it again from the download. Might work.
However I have to say that web surfing with an iPod Touch (which lacks Flash) gets rid of an awesome number of annoying advertisements, so I uninstalled Flash on my iMac.

  • Express Install Not Working

    Hello,
Im using SWFObject to activate the Expressinstall for flash
player versions < 8 but, ExpressInstall doesnt seem to work.
Everytime I try it, i get a message asking to "close out the open
browser window. When you close the window click continue." when i
click continue the installer just quits and nothing happens. I
checked Adobe for the issue and they had a help page about OSX
issues with Flash player installs failing, but taht problem was for
computers with multiple users but i have only one user on my
    machine, the admin.
Another problem arose with Express Install, it is trying to
access OS9, even though my system runs OSX 10.4

has anyone found a fix for this? Has Adobe issued a fix?

  • How express install works

Hi, i seem to have a problem with the flash player detection
tool that Adobe so kindly distributes, I just went on with the
playerProductInstall html that comes by default, only custumizing
it by loading a different swf in case it finishes installing.
However I don't get it, it simply does not install any new
    version of Flash Player.
I cant figure out really whats wrong, maybe something in the
order of my swfs? I suppose the functions in the javascript
provided get the version of the swf currently playing, which is
playerProductInstall since I didn't modify it (well, I did, then I
thought it wasn´t a good idea so I returned to the previous
    version).
However, being completely ignorant of javascript as I am, I
can´t figure out where the variables come from. Does the swf
takes them from the Macromedia site. If so, what is the problem
with my disposal of the code kindly made available by Adobe. Is
there anything I didn´t get of the part in the documentation
where it says that Express Install allows to provide an
installation without leaving streamlined content from the site
    which is building?
I would really appreciate some comments, any comment.

  • Express Install for Intranet Apps

I've been reading the Express Install chapter of the Build
and Deploy manual and have 2 Questions.
If the target system needs to have Flash installed, is there
a way to load the Flash install file from our own WebServer rather
than loading it from the Adobe site? We are looking at using Flex
for an Intranet application where we can't guarantee that all
workstations would have access to the Internet.
Also is there a way to guarantee that we run under a
specified version of Flash? Our QA group likes to be able to
certify software for a given runtime environment. So for example
they might do all testing under 9.0.28 and want to be able to
ensure that the release will run under 9.0.28. But from the way I
read the Express Install docs if a install was needed it gets the
latest version and runs under that.

has anyone found a fix for this? Has Adobe issued a fix?

  • Express Install Bug - work around

I think the Express Install has a bug. If you have one .swf
on your page, and it is either outside of the user's view or the
flash dimensions are much larger than the user's resolution, the
express install prompt appears outside of the user's view. All the
user sees is a darknened screen.
My resolution during express install is to get the user's
resoluion using Javascript and scroll the window or move the flash
as necessary. This is a pain.
I just reported a Bug/feature request that will have the
install prompt appear in the center of the user's window, rather
than the center of the flash.
Any one got a better workaround to this problem?

I had to put the image onto every slide in power point, then
RE import it. You can put the image onto every slide in PPT easily
    - apparently this is just a bug, and there is now way around it.
    that is what I heard.

Obviously since you have iOS 7 you're a developer.  As a developer, you signed a NDA with Apple not to discuss the iOS on a public forum.  Please log in to the Developer Forum using your credentials and ask for help there, lest you risk having your credentials terminated.
Thanks, and best of luck to you.

  • Implementing Flash Player Express Install

I'm implementing Flash Player Express Install, there is
    written in the
point 8 to copy the javascript from
playerProductInstall.html but i don't find any javascript there in
this file. Am i doing mistake somewhere, plz guide me.

Has this been solved yet? I am attempting to use the express

If this file has been pulled then surely it should have been

  • Express install broken on firefox???

if you initiate expressinstall from firefox (1.5.0.4) you get
"Some files that need to be updated are currently in use."
    (firefox all)
ok, now heres the catch, it wont start the installation of
flash player 8 if firefox is open, but you cant start it if its
closed. DOH. any suggestions on how to make it work? other than the
"download the exe, close all browsers and run it" method which
would seriously piss my client off.

*Express Install will not work for updating the Flash Player
8 preview release (8.0.17.0 or 8.0.27.0) to the latest. Users
should go directly to the Player Download Center to install the
    latest release.

Final Cut Express installed when I bought my machine will not open, can not find any upgrades. I am working on Mac Os10.6.8.
    It always worked before.

There are no upgrades to FCE any longer.  Apple has discontinued the product.   If you need to reinstall the version you have from the original install discs, use this app to uninstall it first: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/

  • Express install VISE installer problem

Some of us are having a problem on OSX where the express
installer quits after prompting the user to close his browser
regardless of what action the user takes. This does not happen with
the updaters you get manually from the Adobe site; only with the
express installer. I did some checking to see what the difference
might be and I found that the express installer is VISE X version
2.0 while the manual installers are VISE X 3.0. My guess is that
there is a bug in VISE X 2.0 that is causing the problem. If this
is indeed the problem, can someone from Adobe update the installer
    to v3.0?

  • Adobe's Express Install doesn't load original url

I implemented Adobe's Express Install on my website, and all
works well except at the end of the process, it doesn't
automatically close the original window with the old flash player
and it doesn't automatically reload the original url typed into the
new window with the new flash player. Adobe's documentation says
that it is designed to do this, but these final two steps don't
    seem to be what happens.
Does anyone know what code must be changed to make this
    happen?
    thanks for any help.

you can contact adobe support and see if they can sell you another set of cds, Contact Customer Care
but you should be able to download. you may need to use a different browser or different (wired) connection.
