Swf file with external video not playing properly in Captivate 5

So I'm trying to create a captivate project using swf file that has code that loads external flv inside of it.
It all works great when I test it in flash but once I export it and insert it in Captivate the screens don't synchronize.
The content of the video starts playing as soon as the project starts even though it's not on that video slide and when
I try to scroll through the project the audio of that video screen doesn't stop.
Anyone has an idea why this is happening, could it be my code in flash that's affecting it?

Unfortunately, no. I gave up on the idea of inserting question slides in the middle of videos. That means I no longer have videos distributed across multiple slides, which I assume was causing the problem. Now, I only insert quiz slides AFTER the video slide. Not preferred but that's what I ended up with.
I have recently upgraded to 7.  I haven't had a chance to see if the issue is fixed in 7.  To be honest I am having many issues getting my courses to play properly on the iPad. I am using all the default functions and quiz slides, but I continue to run into problems.

  • Videos not playing properly

    Videos recorded in iphone 6 when stored in Z10 are not playing properly. May be because video resolution or settings differ. But this shouldn't be a problem. If all the video formats and resolutions are supported why is it the case. I tried videos of. Mp4 and. Mov formats. Both couldn't be viewed properly. Kindly fix the video application in bb10. Its very annoying. Other videos work fine but videos recorded in other phones specifically iphone doesnt work.

  • Captivate 6 published HTML5 video not playing properly in LMS

    I published my Captivate 6 video to SWF and HTML5, with SCORM.  I uploaded the files to my LMS, Absorb.   The video contains some multi-slide synched video and a couple quiz slides.  For some reason, when viewing on the iPad my quiz result slide and the last part of the video appear to merge into one slide.  Any idea whay this is happeniong?  Note...this does NOT happen when I view the video on a web browser on my PC with Internet Explorer.  The quiz result slide appears all by itself at the end of the video as expected.  I am including a screen shot...appreciate any help!

  • .swf files with imported video are just white slides with no audio.

    Hello there,
    I had been using Adobe Presenter 7 until recently and I have now upgraded to Presenter 10 for use within Powerpoint 2013. Unfortunately I am having quite a few issues with it.
    I am using it to make presentations built up of imported video files, as I had been doing before with Presenter 7 without any issue. I typically have a presentation of 6 parts and import each video file ~80MB Mp4 into a single slide then name each slide adding a presenter and output it to an 'swf' file. This worked fine in Presenter 7.0.7. Now my issue is that the output will load the player it will have the correct presenter, and timings on the chaptered sidebar but when it plays the presentation area of the screen is just white, there's no audio, no video just the correct time for each section. I've checked the output folder the individual video files will play within windows media player without issue.
    It should be noted that the html5 only version works fine, until uploaded to a web server and then it will not load any of the player with IE11 (I can't test it in other browsers).
    I would appreciate some help with this if anyone has any ideas to fix this.
    Many thanks

    Well make sure you have read and write permissions on the file. Do a get info in the video (command-I) and alter it as necessary.

  • Lumix Camera video not playing properly

    I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 digital camera which, in addition to still photos, can record short video clips. According to the user manual the videos can be played on my Mac by using QuickTime. I am able to transfer the file from my camera to the Mac and open it with QuickTime but it does not play smoothly. It starts, then stops at some frame while the progress bar shows that the video is playing (also the voice portion continues, albeit with interruptions). If I pause the video and click on various positions on the progress bar, I am able to get to frames further along in the sequence. I have tried to open the video using Real Player and get the same outcome. I am able to play the video on the camera's display and, using the cables supplied by the manufacturer, on my TV. Any suggestions.

    Sorry - this isn't help, just an extension to your problem. Since the compulsory update to QT7 from QT6 when I went to 10.4 I've not been able to play a number of previously okay avi, mpg, and mpeg files. The codecs are a pain to sort out - because they offer no help at all. In "upgrading" to QT7 I'm now further behind! By offering links to the codec sites the producers of QT seem to be offering a skeleton product (with some big bones missing) and a catalog shopping service for multi-media software. This is not what we need.
    I'm as frustrated as you are!!!

  • FLV videos not playing correctly in Captivate 6

    I am running into an issue where my FLV video is not playing correctly when my Captivate project is exported out and saved to the web. The FLV video is about 20 mins long (~100 MB) and it is being streamed from Kaltura. The FLV video is inputted into the Captivate project as a multi-slide synchronized video across 27 slides. The slides themselves are imported from Powerpoint. The problem that we are running into is that the Captivate project and the FLV video play correctly when viewed with decent bandwidth, but they do not appear to play correctly for users with slower bandwidth. However, if a user views the videos independently of Captivate, they can view the videos correctly, even at slower bandwidth. I have tried hosting the Captivate files on several different webservers, including an LMS. But the issue continues and I'm searching for any type of answers that might help.
    Thanks for reading and any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Nathan

    Nathan,
    Your welcome, if that is the case, then can you try and insert the MultiSlide Video, you can insert the streaming video URL.
    You can add the server to you computer as network Drive and then browser to that location, once you do that, the options to add the Video as Streaming can be chose and your Vidoe would remain insync with main playbar, users can play and pause content that way.
    See if this can be implemented at your end.
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

    Is there any specific video software do I need to install or Belle doesn't support FLV format?

  • Issue with HTML5 video not playing

    Hi,
    I've set up a simple HTML5 video test in Dreamweaver CS4.  I pulled the code needed from the W3 schools site:
    http://www.w3schools.com/html5/html5_video.asp
    After making a few adjustments in my code for file path and dimensions, I uploaded the clip and web page it to my server.  Here is the result and I'm having trouble with browsers; in Chrome it plays great; in IE 9, the video is jerky and the toolbar does not have the fullscreen option like in Chrome:
    http://designerandpublisher.com/multimedia/5/video.html
    I also uploaded everything to a second server, one completely different than the one above.  The result is worst - again, the video plays fine in Chrome, but in IE9, the video does not even show up at all.  See below:
    Does anyone know how to resolve this?  Thanks.

    In the end, you should end up with a piece of code that looks something like this:
    <video id="YourID" width="600" height="400" preload="auto" autobuffer autoplay controls>
      <source src="YourVideo.mp4" type='video/mp4; codecs="h.264, aac"' />
      <source src="YourVideo.webm" type='video/webm; codecs="vp8, vorbis"' />
      <source src="YourVideo.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"' />
      <object width="600" height="400" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
        data="flowplayer-3.2.7.swf">
        <param name="movie" value="flowplayer-3.2.7.swf" />
        <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" />
        <param name="flashvars" value='config={"clip": {"url": "YourFullVideoPath.mp4", "autoPlay":false, "autoBuffering":true}}' />
        <p>Download video as <a href="YourVideo.mp4">MP4</a>, <a href="YourVideo.webm">WebM</a>, or <a href="YourVideo.ogv">Ogg</a>.</p>
      </object>
    </video>
    This has all 3 video formats and a Flash fallback that plays the mp4.
    I use http://www.mirovideoconverter.com/ to convert to all the formats required, which I just realised Jon has already mentioned. It's a very easy converter.

  • YouTube videos not playing properly after 10.1 update

    I am using  firefox 3.6.4 and tried with chrome 5.0.375.86 also, both seem to play the videos sluggish/lagging.. the audio seems to  be fine..everything was fine until the update today to 10.1 . I tried the hardware acc enable/disable, was of no use.

    Hi, along with disabling the hardware acceleration feature, it is advised to update the graphic and video drivers to the latest versions.
    See if that helps.

  • Why are videos not playing in Adobe Captivate 6?

    We are having issues with videos (F4v or .mp4) playing in Captivate 6 produced projects? We've set them as progressive downloads like we did in CP5 or 5.5 that still work corectly, but now they do not. Has anyone else had this issue? It is the biggest one of a few i've found in captivate 6 so far.

    Hi Michael

  • Captivate 7: How to troubleshoot video not playing.

    I've received MP4 files from a client and converted them to FLV. I created a blank project, added a Content-Center slide. Loaded an FLV video file. Previewed in Captivate no problem. Published and reviewed no problem. Load the SWF file to the company Intranet and the slide displays but the video object is not included. What am I doing wrong?

    Don't assume anything.  You need to CHECK where the video is located.
    You also seem to be assuming that since you uploaded the SWF file that your video is somewhere inside the SWF and must have therefore arrived at the intended destination.
    This is also incorrect because Captivate does not encapsulate videos INSIDE SWF files.  All videos are externalized nowadays.  So if you upload an SWF, that's all you've uploaded.  No video.
    Additionally, Captivate SWFs require the HTM and JavaScript files that Captivate also publishes in order for everything to work.  If you do not upload all required files, your content will not play properly for end users.
    I'm hoping by "company intranet" you mean an actual web server, not just a company LAN?  And if you're uploading to a Dropbox account, you may also run into issues with playback unless your business partners download the entire set of required files to a folder on their PC, AND make sure that folder is set up as a trusted location in their Flash Global Security settings:

  • Skin control in swf file created from indesign not showing online

    Hi,
    I used indesign cs5.5 interactive to create a swf file with embeded video and skin control.  When I view the video on my pc the video and skin control works but when I uploaded both the swf file and the skin control file  online to my client's server the skin control doesn't show. I suspect it has something to do with the path, is there somewhere I can specify the path to where the skin control is loaded online?
    Thanks.

    Which file - the .swf or the .exe file?
    If the .swf, you need to create a file association to the projector.

  • HT3775 My Macbook Air (still with Lion) will not play .avi video files

    My Macbook Air (still with Lion) will not play .avi video files (brought over from an older PC where they play with another viewer). This site implies Quicktime Player should be able to do so. Is there a codec or something else I'm supposed to download?

    I had found this through other threads, but it is what worked, even allowed my AVI files to be played in PowerPoint. Changing to 32-bit encryption did not work, BTW.

  • Youtube videos do not play properly

    I appreciate any suggestions with this problem. I have a Mac G4 laptop (PowerPC) running OS 10.4
    Most web videos do not play properly on my computer, especially if they use Adobe Flash Player. (QuickTime videos play fine.)
    I have had my internet connections checked by my provider, and the speed is very good, and the configuration is OK, so they do not understand why I am having trouble. When I try to play YouTube videos, I get a slideshow, with a new frame every 2 or 3 seconds. I have tried using my computer on my friend's internet connection, and it has the same problem. My friend can watch the same YouTube video perfectly well on his own computer, even though his download speed is much slower than mine.
    I have already tried the following fixes several times:
    complete uninstall of old versions of Flash Player
    reinstall of the latest version of Flash Player. (My computer does recognize that the player is there, as I said, it just plays the video as a slideshow.)
    Repairing permissions and restarting
    resetting Safari, manually clearing cache, cookies, etc. (Although I also have the same problem in Firefox)
    Downgrading to Flash Player 9
    Trashing QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
    Trying to trash all DivX files (I don't have any, it turns out)
    making sure audio midi settings are for 44.1
    trashing the Macromedia preferences folder
    None of these things have helped me. Thank you in advance for any other ideas of things to try.

    Rogerskth,
    Sorry, I wasn't clear. My computer NEVER played flash videos properly, with any version of Flash. Considering that Flash is maxxing out my CPU power (as measured by the Activity Meter) I suppose that slow CPU speed really IS the cause of my problem. Since you have a faster computer, and your computer used to play the videos OK, it seems likely that your problem is SOME OTHER mysterious problem.
    Bungee33,
    You might be pleased to know that in English we have the same expression as the German which you quoted
    "we in Germany say, that a horse given as a present must not be critizised  by judging the teeth in the mouth of the animal"
    In English, we say "don't look a gift horse in the mouth."

    . I'm running Windows XP and FF 8.0. I'm having more trouble than ever with intermittent streaming and videos not playing all the way through. What is the easiest way to fix this?

    That may be a problem with the VLC plugin. VLC has never worked for me properly on the occasions that I've tried it on Windows and Linux, so I have stop using it. There are usually other plugins or media players available that work better.
    What kind of media files are that?
    For WMP files you can install the new Windows Media Player plugin you can also try RealPlayer and QuickTime if it is about media that those programs can handle to see if that works better.
