SWF in IE has Project Created by Adobe Captivate 7

When someone attempts to play an swf in Internet Explorer a small box appears with " Project Created by Adobe Captivate 7" and the video won't play
Anyone know why this might occur?

I have seen this error if AS2 content (Flash animations containing AS2 actionscript) was imported into Captivate 7. Check that you don't have any AS2 content in your project and also check that you didn't select an AS2 based preloader by mistake (only relevant if you have earlier versions of Captivate installed).

  • Learning Solution - Java Applet errors WBT created by Adobe Captivate 2

    Hi,
I am experiencing problems with running WBTs created from Adobe Captivate.
We can checkin a WBTs created by Captivate using the published SCORM1.2 files.  The first WBT checked in works OK, but all following WBTs created by Captivate have Java Applet problems with error messages "Object expected" and "g_objAPI not defined" when run from the WebAS.
Has anyone come across a similar problem and found a fix for it?
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ben.

In your browser, look at the HTML code that gets sent to the browser and see if there is something wrong with it.
Specifically, I would look at the code near the <APPLET ..></APPLET> tags, both before and after and look for stray quotes, brackets, or what not.
Finally, I would look inside the <APPLET ...> tag. It appears to me that the output will probably be:
<APPLET code="simpleAppletPackage/SimpleApplet.class" codebase="Applets"archive="SimpleAppletPackage.jar" width="250" height="250"></APPLET>See, you may be missing a space between the "Applets" and the archive=. Try making the second out.print look like this:
out.print(" archive=\"SimpleAppletPackage.jar\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\"></APPLET>"); See the extra space at the start of the output?

  • Open Project .cp in Adobe Captivate 7

    Hello,
We acquired 8 licenses Of Adobe captivate 7. we were on adobe captivate 3. So all our projects have .Cp format. Currently we can not open old project .Cp with this new version. We wish to implement a solution that allows us to convert old project format.cp to format .cptx. I want your advice for a best Solution.
    Cordially

Yeah, wasn't really expecting the file extension change to work - but it has worked for me in the past with other types of software, so I reckoned it was worth a shot. Desperate times call for desperate measures...
Anyway, I know that this was a long time ago. In fact, I was triggered by your question whether I was absolutely sure the files were made in Cp3. So I investigated further and discovered that some of the files are actually Captivate 2... We're talking 2007 here. Luckily, I was able to open the rest of the files that have been created in 2008 through Cp5. As for the one course created in Cp2, I'll probably have to extract the images from the swf and build them anew...
(The reason we haven't updated the courses until now is that our client has never requested this. In fact, we were under the impression the courses were no longer running, but now appear to be still in use.)

  • Can a quizz created in adobe captivate be published through adobe formscentral.

I currently give printed question papers to my students.  As the adobe captivate is most suitable for quiz creation, is it possible to distribute the quiz created in the adobe captivate through adobe form central and collect the answers given by the students.

There is a web viewer but there is no way to allow anyone to download the folios from your website.
You might want to look into Fixed Layout EPUB for that.

  • Need to import .swf into Flash 8 project

I'm working on a project that requires me to use an already
made .swf file in it. I'm creating the whole project (which is a
presentation) strictly in Flash 8. This project requires a user to
be able to navigate through various menus and categories to see
what's in them. Most of the categories have a slide-show of images
that are accompanied by a voice over sound track that explains to
them what they're watching; however, for other categories I already
have a previously created .swf file that I need to import into
Flash 8. The issue that I've noticed when I just import the .swf
file into Flash is that the file plays at about 100x the original
speed. I think that it is because Flash looks at this file as one
frame and tried to play everything all at once. I also looked into
the possibility of trying to the loadMovie() function, but that is
not that convenient for me because this requires me to decompile
the .swf file into .fla and edit it so that a user has a way of
coming back to the main menu of the presentation from that movie,
unless there is a function parameter of loadMovie() similar to
HTML's "_blank" where a new window opens so that the user can close
this window without having to worry about restarting the
presentation. I hope that what I'm doing is clear, and I'm very
much open to any suggestions about what I should do about it or any
other ways of doing what I'm trying to achieve, which is to be able
to play already-made .swf files in my Flash project. To give more
details on these .swf files, they were originally created in Adobe
Captivate and exported into .swf. They play perfectly when you play
them, but it's just that there is an issue when I try to play them
from my Flash project. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi Braulio
a good tutorial site can be found at
    http://www.kirupa.com
and also, look in your Flash Docs, for loadClip() and
loavMovie() methods. They should get you started on some ideas to
    import external content.

  • Export release build fails with project created by Launchpad

When I try to export a release build (using Flash Builder 4.5) of a project created in Adobe Air Launchpad (p8_3-0-1_081911) I get the following error message:
"error occurred while saving the project settings: 'default' build target cannot be found for the selected project"
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
    Rob

I solved this by creating a new project and copying everything across. But it was time-consuming work - especially creating all the new value objects and data services. Air Launchpad is a great concept and has helped me a lot, but this particular forum is dead.

  • Program Compatibility Assistant popping up after running and closing .EXE flash created by adobe cap

    Hi,
I am using windows 7. I have a .Exe flash file created using Adobe Captivate. I have closed the file after running it successfully.  Then this message popped up.
Why this message is coming even after successful playing of flash? Is there any way to avoid this?

    Hello there,
Are you using Captivate version 5 or 5.5? Do you know the version of Flash Player Installed? I have not seen this message appear any time, can you please confirm in one more machine? What flavor of Win 7 do you have?
    Thanks,

  • How to Control the "tab order" in Adobe Captivate 8?

    Hi Guys,
I was just trying to insert "tab order" to the module that I am creating using Adobe Captivate Version 8. I was not able to insert the tab order feature when I switched to the responsive project mode (project for Destop, Tablet, and Mobile).
Kindly guide me to insert tab order. I have checked all the online resources but was not able to find the relevant steps to create "tab order" in Captivate 8.
    Thanks!
    Peace

    Hi,
You can set the Tab order for Interactive objects from the Properties panel:
This will open a dialog where you can arrange the order for all the interactive objects on your slide.
    Hope this helped!

  • Adobe Captivate 7 unsupports Adobe Captivate 8?!

Hi all, I have a problem with Adobe Captivate 7: I have to work on a project (video) created by Adobe Captivate 8, but I can't open this file...what's the matter? Projects created by Captivate 8 are unsupported by Captivate 7?!
The view I see is this:
    Thank you so much!

Adobe products have never worked like Microsoft products. There is generally no way to open and work on a project once a newer version of the software creates or touches it.

  • Adobe Captivate TTS

Hello! Can a media file (ex: mp3) created using Adobe Captivate TTS be used in a commercial project if I use the trial version? Thanks.

Any projects created with the trial version of an Adobe project cannot be used in commercial projects. I would assume that the same applies for an mp3 file created with Captivate TTS as this is part of the Adobe Captivate application itself and therefore falls under the same licensing terms.

  • How to convert Adobe Captivate 3 to an audio file?

Hey guys, I have a class that has presentations online using Adobe Captivate 3.  I was hoping to somehow get it to an .mp3 file so I may listen to it in the car.  To access the lecture, I am directed by a .htm link, so I do not have access to the file directly, but I am certain there must be some method of "ripping" the audio.  Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance!

That's happened to me too, Mark. I know there is a lesson in

Still, its a nice blog ... though I've never understood the

  • Capture User Information from Adobe Captivate Quiz

I created an Adobe Captivate (version 5.5) interactive training, which includes a 10 question quiz. Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out the best way to get the user to submit their name, location, and email along with the quiz. Without this I just seem to be getting the quiz results without any identifying information. I tried adding a "short answer" slide, but then I seem to have to create several of those slides just to get one piece of identifying information at a time. Is there an easy way to get the user's identifying information on a particular slide before they submit their results?
(As a side note I'm having a tough time even getting the Post Results working in the first place. But I'm thinking it might be better to ask that as a separate question since it's not necessarily related to this one.)

    Hi there,
    Thanks for reaching Adobe Community.
You can create a username and password on the Captivate slide through Advanced actions.
