SWF movie trailer stutters and stops on first loading...

Hi.
I am working on a site using the creative suite CS5. The site in question is www.dystopiafilm.com. My partner, a professor, is promoting his free film. On the second page, we will be using a streaming service, Streamhoster, to show the whole film or the various individual chapters in separate pop up windows.
But on the first page, the index page, we would like the movie trailer (less than 2 minutes) to start playing immediately when the user gets to the web page--it is a very dramatic trailer. The second time a user plays the trailer, it plays smoothly, but of course, the dramatic effect has been damaged. Does anyone know how we could make the swf play more smoothly the first time through? I understand that if we use Streamhoster for the streaming for the first page trailer, we'd have to have a javascript pop up window, but I would much rather the trailer div stay embedded in the web page for aesthetic effect.
Help, anyone? I'm an amateur at this web creation business--just starting learning 6 months ago.

Quicktime movie audio stutters and freezes viewer and browser

I uploaded a Quicktime movie to my website and it plays fine on all of my computers except one - the one that I do my website on. All Quicktime movies hang with rapidly looping audio on this machine - even the ones on Apple's website. This lasts for a minute or two and hangs the programs until it stops. Other video and audio formats work fine on this machine. Help!

Hardly surprising. You didn't really ask a question to which readers could respond nor do you seem to be looking for a workaround for your unexplained and rather circuitous workflow. I did attempt to duplicate the download/conversion process using my own system, software, and workflows but since you did not include any particular YouTube source file (i.e., URL) reference and my results were different than yours, I can't even be sure I started with the same content as you. Basically, such sync problems normally devolve from a problem in the source file or in the processes used to download and/or convert the content.
A YouTube search for the file name referenced in your initial comments directed me to this YouTube page which I used as a source file: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_INlMhECFA
However, when I downloaded the 426x240 version of the YouTube source file, it turned out to be a standard H.263/MP3 FLV file with stats quite different than those of your H.264/AAC MP4 download posted above and which did not display any AV sync issues. (Source File)
I then used QT 7 Pro (with Perian codec package installed) to directly convert the H.263/MP3 FLV compressed data to an H.264/AAC MP4 file having the same target settings as the original FLV file. (Converted File)
In short, based on the information provided, I cannot duplicate your problems. In addition, the downloaded 720p30 resolution H.264/AAC MP4 version of the same content also played correctly in the QT 7 player without conversion or additional third-party codecs. At this point (i.e., without further information to the contrary), I suspect your issues may be self inflicted as a result of your workflow and may explain why others have failed to make comments here.

All streaming video with my Firefox browser is choppy and constantly stutters and stops and starts. This does not happen with Internet Explorer. Help!!

Any streaming video that I view on Firefox stutters, is choppy and very irritating to try and watch. I opened up Internet Explorer and found that I don't have those issues. This occurs on YouTube, Facebook, and all other videos that I attempt to watch.

I've tried both things, but video still stutters.. Have also tried removing profile, and complete reinstall of firefox.
I'm on 24 Mbit cable and the only user atm. IE and Chrome seems to work without stuttering.
I've having this stuttering every ~5th second, like a small "1/4 sec buffering".

Mailbox moves extremely slow and stopping with StalledDueToCI status

I am migrating mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. I have an Exchange 2013 DAG. Previously I was running Exchange 2013 CU2 and had no issues with migrations, they were migrating fast and had no issues. After upgrading Exchange
2013 to SP1 I have had very slow migrations and they eventually halt with the StalledDueToCI status. I was originally doing batch migrations, I dropped it down to a single move request and even migrating a single mailbox from one database to another
on the same Exchange 2013 server and I still have the same issue. I've also tried moving a mailbox to a database that is not part of the DAG and I still have the same issue. I have the ContentSubmitters group so that's not the issue. Once
it stalls I have to restart the MRS and it kicks off again but then it stalls again with the same error. ALL of my databases have a "Healthy" status for the content index. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

While launching iTunes error -45054 appears and stops iTunes from loading

Recently, error -45054 (Unknown Error Occurred) when attempting to start iTune on my Mac.
I've tried reinstalling iTunes, but to no avail.

FLV starting and stopping at specific times?

Im using the flvplayback to put up a video in my swf.
in my swf i also have several buttons.
the thing i want to do is when i for example click a button i want to
start playing the movie from 5 seconds in it and then stop the movie at for
example 10 seconds in it. even if the video is 20 seconds long i want to
be able to stop it automatically at 10 seconds in the movie. the start and stop should be
controlled from the button..
i know how to start the movie at a specific time but i dont know
how to stop it at a specific time. is this possible?

FLVPlayback class has a property playheadTime.You will need to read the value of it periodically - so when a desired time is reached, you implement required functionality.
To do that you will need to add either Event.ENTER_FRAME listener or instantiate Timer class or setInterval method for reading playheadTime.

How do I get all the control buttons in one place in 3.6.16, like they used to be in previous versions? Having the refresh and stop buttons between address and search windows, and the home button to the far right is awful.

In 3.6.16, the buttons are all over the place. In previous versions, the forward, back, refresh, stop and home buttons were all together. In this version, the refresh and stop buttons are between the address and search windows, and the home button to the far right.
I would love to have them all together as they used to be - much more user friendly that way. I have tried installing alternate themes, but the coding of this version over-rides the themes.

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload and Stop and Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Move the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

I have some problem in live cache in APO , i was posting in APO forum could not able to find clear findings
so i am diverting my questions here in this forum
basically the APO and R/3 system are running smoothly with no problem in CIF
but accidently we done the below steps
Entered into transaction LC-10
Click Live cache Monitoring
click the folder - Administration
click Operating under - configuration
There are two Icon bar - start LiveCache and stop LiveCache
First i clicked stop and then after few minutes i click start
After some time i try to open the Product view in APO, the system says Live cache not available
can some one help me in this regard

How Can You Slow the Titles in Movie Trailer Down?

I love the new movie trailers in iMovie, but I need to slow the title slide down. Does anyone know how to do this?

You can do it by converting the Movie Trailer to a Project. However once converted, you cannot go back to the Movie Trailer interface and continue to work using the Movie trailer tools. So what you might want to do is get everything, Everything you can get accomplished using just the Movie trailer tools. Then at the very end, the very last step Convert to Project and stretch out the duration of that title slide.
To Convert to Project go to the File Menu > Convert to Project. iMovie will then move everything into the iMovie Project Browser as clips, background sound tracks, titles, etc.

Imovie movie trailer previews have changed to one of my videos

I'm using iMovie '11 (9.0.4) and have noticed that when I try to create a new project and look at the movie trailers, each of the movie trailers show my last iMovie project instead of the generic preview that they once showed. I can choose one of the the movie trailer projects and it will be the correct movie trailer, but when choosing a new project, the previews are not what they were when I installed the program. Anyone else with this issue and a fix?

I plugged my ipod touch into my laptop and started to down load an (1) upgrade. But Itunes says that the upgrade will take two hours. I started the down load and it started and stoped and eventualy never complerted the down load. How can I fix this ?

I plugged my Ipod touch into my Dell laptop and went to Itunes. Itunes told me I should down load an upgrade, so I did. Itunes said the down load would take two hours. I started the down load, but after two + hours (&longer) , after several starts and stops the down load never completed.
I recently got a (fake anti virus) virus and it damaged my computer. I got it fixed and reinstalled the software and it appears to be working correctly. Could this be the part of the problem ?
Would it help if I reloaded the Itunes (off an external HD) or downloaded it again from Itunes ?

I doubt it. For my updates, it has typically taken me many tries/retries. Like for you, the download would stop. and I would have to restart from the beginning. If you get a network timed out error try disabling the security software on your computer.

At various stages over the years, mouse-related iTunes trouble has been associated with driver conflicts. So it might be worth following up on that possibility.
Head to the drivers and downloads page for your model of PC, and check to make sure you're not behind on any chipset and input-device-related driver updates. (And while there, just in case, also check to make sure your BIOS, sound-card/integrated audio, and video-card/display-adaptors are up to date.)
If you're behind on anything, and you update, does that help with the mouse-related iTunes issues?

How can I remove a child swf and stop all sounds when parent closes?

I am new to actionscript 3 and trying to learn as I go. The problem I am having is the following:
I have a carousel of images that load an external swf movie with a FLVPlayback component on it. The problem is that when the external swf unloads the sound of the FLVPlayback component continues to play. I am using a carousel component I found online to load the images and each image loads an external swf file. here is the code for it.

The external movie loads fine. Then the external swf calls for a second swf containing a video. This is the code that is used to load the swf:

You want to stop the audio from playing and also downloading more video/audio if it is still downloading when you go to a new keyframe where the video display/component or mp3 player is removed from the stage because it's keyframe ended or do not exist anymore but you still hear the audio.
Add an event listener to your video playback component that calls a function when the flash player tries to remove the video plaer from the stage that stops the netstream or at least stops/pauses the video playback.

How can I move the tab bar to the bottom, and how do I get my reload and stop buttons back?

The new version of Firefox has repositioned my tab bar to the top and I cannot move it to the bottom. I tried about:config, but browser.tabs.ontop was already set to false - very curious, since this should have solved my problem in the first place.
In the new version of Firefox I cannot get my reload and stop buttons back again.

Firefox uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.
*You get a Stop button during page loading that changes to a Reload button when the page has finished loading
*You get a Go button if you modify the location bar content
*Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab
