Swf shrinks in chrome, fine in IE FF

I have a swf that loops continuously as a comin soon image. Two weeks ago it worked fine across the board. Now it works fine in IE and FF, but in chrome it is TINY. the website is www.djomi.com I am not incredibly experienced with any of this, its pretty new to me, so I probably left out something vital, or maybe its just a browser problem I need to work around. any help is appreciated, i didn't have much luck searching for answers. thank you

There are a number of issues here. In order for digital signature fields to work in Reader, regardless of version, the document needs to be Reader-enabled with Acrobat Pro (or LiveCycle Reader Extensions). In order to submit the entire PDF with Reader versions prior to 11, the document needs to be Reader-enabled. How you do this depends on which version of Acrobat you have:
A9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
A10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
A11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)
The next major issue is certain browsers have built-in PDF viewers and they have limited or no support for PDF forms. Firefox 19 introduced  one that has no support for forms and otherwise isn't very good. Chrome's built-in PDF viewer has more forms support, but this type of submit was not supported last time I checked. Both vrowsers can be configured to use Reader to display a PDF in the browser, on Windows at least, but this is something the user has to take care of.
A form can be submitted if it is not being viewed in a browser and instead directly in Reader/Acrobat. The problem with setting it up to submit by email is it simply won't work for some users, especially those who use web-based email and have no functional desktop software. It is better to set up the form to submit to a web server, which has the additional benefit of the possibility of a secure transmission, unlike email.

  • Wifi network failing, but Chrome is fine!

    Hi,
I've recently started to have terrible problems with my wifi network: i thought perhaps i was losing internet connectivity, but this is not the case.
All i can say is that periodically my internet apps lose connection, and then i will notice i've lost network connection.
Eventually, some of it is restored, but this time i noticed something interesting: I can use Chrome fine, I can now see my network, but apps such as Slack and Safari are totally failing to connect.
This is a brand new Macbook Pro with16GB Ram, a 521MB SSD, and the latest Yosemite OS (10.10.4 14C109)
From my perusing, i noticed that often a log is requested from EtreCheck, so I include one here in advance, taking whilst Chrome is working but Safari etc are not.
    Thanks
    -Mark

  • Weird bug in my animation, only happens when playing in Chrome browser? How do I debug this?

    Hey all,
I have an animation / swf file I have created in flash, when I export the swf and test it in flash it's fine.
And when I run the webpage that contains the swf in Google Chrome browser I get like a white box that just pops up on the screen for a few seconds on the first loop of the animation and then it goes away, and I can not workout why it does that in Chrome, all the other browsers show the animation behaving like it should
I put this animation into my webpage using a method like
    <script type="text/javascript" >
    AC_FL_RunContent(
                                  'codebase', 'https://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0',

                                  'loop', 'true',

                                  'wmode', 'transparent',
                                  'devicefont', 'false',

    </noscript>
This is probably an outdated method? This file was originally created in 2006.
This doesnt come up when testing the file in flash or show up in another of the other browsers liek ie, ff, safari etc and behaves like it should. Why is Chrome doing this to me?
I tried debugging the file and going through the layers but I don't see anything why that box would be coming up for a few seconds on the first loop.
    Any help would be great

Hi moccamaximum, thanks so much for the reply, that is exactly what it was. I just inserted the swf using the updated function through dreamweaver CS5 and the white block went away! Thanks again

  • Swf act in diffferent way in browsers

    Hi.
I'm developing a rpg game project now, and I found a very strange thing.  My swf act in different way in different browsers. My swf doesn't  working properly in mozilla firefox. In google chrome, and IE works just  fine. How is that so? what could be reason for that? I used external  xml file stored on my server so mayby browsers handle xml in different  way? But I'm sure xml i loaded into swf in every browser.
    Here's link for my game:
    http://www.truesign.ie/rpg
In fight section (after few seconds) you can attack enemies in chrome and IE but not in mozilla.

I did it before and nothing had change. By the way, on my local machine swf it's working fine in flash and even in firefox. But not from server. I'm sure browser load correct version of a swf file. Te newest version is 1.1 as on first screen.

  • SWF Compression

    Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me with what I think is
    a swf compression error.
I created an animation in Flash MX using a large Jpeg
background and smaller gif objects. The Jpeg moves at times, as if
a camera is panning accross a scenery while most times the gif
objects are stationary or move off the screen. The animation is a
total of 7 scenes. However when I convert the animation to a .swf,
the background at times becomes blurry and smeared (like a gradient
or horizontal lines) even though the background is stationary in
that part of the scene and only the foreground gif objects are
moving. Other scenes the background pans correctly in the SWF and
everything looks fine in the original Flash MX file.
My question is, is this an error caused by Flash MX or SWF
compression? Is there anything I can do to correct this and has it
    happened to anyone else?
I can post the animation on my website if anyone wants to see
    the error.

Flash .. turn on the compression option on output. I'm pretty
    sure free
tools like FLASM will also do the compression for you.
If that is already one, try reducing the size of your images,
    the quality of
your sounds etc, the number of embedded fonts you use, if you
    have complex
vector drawings, try drawing them smaller and then scale them
    bigger.

  • HTML/SWF publish from captivate 8

I had created an project and published it for HTML/SWF, it is working fine in all the browsers and only in Firefox it gives the below error:
    Adobe Captivate
This browser does not support some of the content in the file you are trying to view. Use one of the following browsers:
    Internet Explorer 9 or later
    Safari 5.1 or later
    Google Chrome 17 or later
can some one give me solution on this.

Check this post. The message usually is because Firefox doesn't support mp3, hence the message from CP.
You need to make .ogg files and redirect CP to use them if in Firefox, else use the .mp3

i go to File => Open => swf
it opens just fine, but then when i resize the window
everything grows or shrinks with the window.
    what's that about?

    Seth Prince;
That is what happens when you open a "bare" swf--embed the
    swf in an
html page and set the size in pixels. See flash's publish

  • Flash .exe or swf files will not play on Vista

I decided to learn how to create captions for flash video,
using CS3. I tested this project and it worked fine. I could just
double-click on the app or the swf and the captioned video played
fine on my Mac. I only had Flash (CS3) on my Mac, so I created the
    files there.
I then published an exe to move over to my Vista machine.
When I double-clicked on the file, it brought up Flash Media Player
version 9, but only showed a blank white box. Very frustrating.
After some research, I read that Windows Vista was not
compatible with Flash Media Player 9. Only 10.02xxx or later (I
forget the exact version - it was long) was supposed to work with
Vista. Since CS3 uses version 9 to pack into the executable (PC) or
app (Mac) projector files, I thought maybe this was the problem.
So I downloaded the demo of Flash CS4, thinking this version
would pack version 10 into the projector and this would solve my
    problem.
While the CS3 version of my saved flash video project would
open in Flash CS4, it would not play when I tested the movie inside
Flash CS4. It would just show a skin at the bottom of the video
player only (with a play/pause button), and it had moving blue bars
on the skin like it couldn't really load either.
I then decided to create the whole flash video with captions
from scratch under Flash CS4. This time when I tested the movie in
Vista, it worked fine. When I published either the projector exe or
the html/swf combination, it worked fine. So proudly (and finally!)
I sent the exe over to my boss. But..... you guessed it. The Flash
Media Player 10 that started up when the file was double-clicked
just showed a blank white screen again!
So then I moved the exe over to another partition to test to
see if there was some dependent directory pathway saved as part of
the flash video file. The exe wouldn't play on the other partition!
So I thought I was onto something. I then tried moving files that I
thought the exe might be dependent on (although isn't the point of
a projector to be stand alone?) to the same directory on this
partition as the flash exe projector file.
I ended up moving the captions.xml file, the swf files (flash
video player skins included), and the html file that the swf file
is supposed to be embedded in. NOTHING worked.
I even read that someone with this problem saved his Flash
CS4 file as a Flash CS3 file before he published it, and that
worked for him. So I tried that too, but with no joy.
So I am totally stumped. Does anyone out there have advice or
    even a solution?
    Much Thanks,
    Chuck

    HI
You can use FlashJester Jugglor to create one EXE file by
    adding the FLV in

  • Swf file not playing in browser

I have a problem with a swf file which will not play in web browser.
It played fine until I updated my site. I therefore suspected a pathing issue within dreamweaver and looked thorugh that forum for an answer.
I tried typing the absolute path to the swf file in the browser address bar and found it straight away. When I clicked on it the screen stayed blank.
I checked the path to the file and the flv file was relative to the document and not the site.
swf plays fine in flash player, flash, and locally on dreamweaver.
I moved the swf up the file tree and changed the links accordingly but still would not play.
I also tried saving it as a new swf from flash, but that doesn't play either.
I added another swf to the containing folder and that played fine in the browser.
When I open the fla file in flash it only shows a flv playback movie, not the elements, I think this is because it was created in after effects.
Here is the link to the containing folder, the swf file is Home_page_movie_V2.swf
    http://www.joinerycadsolutions.com/Flash/01 Home
I have other swf files playing fine and this swf played ok originally so I still think it's a pathing problem but I am not that savvy on flash and cannot figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, just bear in mind my low level of ability.
    Thanks
    Stuart

The .swf is loading just fine... but it is expecting to load a .flv video file.
The path inside the .swf to the .flv file is not correct. The path inside the .swf to the .flv file needs to be relative to the .swf as it's located on the Web page, NOT the physical location of the .swf.
Here is the absolute address of the .flv:
    http://www.joinerycadsolutions.com/Flash/01%20Home/Home%20V1.flv
Here is a test player using that address:
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/flash/cidm_simple_vid_player.html
So unless your .swf is broken, it just a pathing issue.
    From an old post:
    Pathing issues
Almost always when it works on the local machine and not the server, it's a pathing problem.
You can put your Flash related files in whatever folders you want, they do NOT have to be in the root, they do NOT all have to be in the same folder. But if you have a problem and if sticking them all in the root folder works, then you know that the issue was a pathing problem.
Just remember that paths used in the .swf become relative to the Web page on which the .swf is placed, NOT it’s physical location.  So for example, if your .swf is in the flash/data folder and you use that .swf on a Web page in the root folder, you are in effect, removing that .swf from flash/data and putting it in root. So if the .swf is loading any related files (xml, images, video, etc), the path used inside the .swf to load the .xml file has to be relative to it's new location in root and then back down into flash/data. This is true even though when testing the .swf by itself, it can be inside flash/data and work just fine, since relative to it's location, the path is just fine, they are in the same folder. But if that same path is used when the .swf is placed on a page two folder levels up, the relative path has changed, the old "same folder" path will not work.
In fact if you are placing the .swf on a web page in a different folder than the .swf is stored in, and that .swf calls external assets, then direct clicking and opening of the .swf in it’s folder should NOT work! That’s because the paths to the external assets should be relative to the Web page and not the physical location of the .swf.
So just be sure that you use addresses relative to the final Web page locations (not physical file locations) and you can put the Flash related files in what ever folders you want.

  • Embedding SWF file into an Indesign document and later export as PDF

    Hi to everybody,
I am searching now since 3 days for good solution of my problem. First I wanna tell you that the problem is not just to convert a swf-file into a pdf.  I did this many times with all animations, page flip and stuff. My situation is the following:
I have varios catalogues with  more or less 12 pages each in an indesign format. Now I created an animated scroll down menu, which appears on an "index-page". On the menu I created buttons. One button for each catalogue. So the idea of the whole thing is to open a document and an index page appears where you have the animated menu and you choose the catalogue you wanna see. Until here it is quite easy. I created a swf file of each catalogue with my animations (as the special page turnover e.g.). So that I just need von Object in with I can load the different swf-files of these catalogues. I already did the process. I linked the buttons to the different swf files and so. So the problem is now when it comes to convert the whole thing into a PDF. Of course I convert it first to swf and then to PDF. After converting it to swf it works 100% fine, but in PDF not, suddenly the swf-files of the catalogues disappear.
So the summary is, that I don't know how to embed swf files into an indesign document, creat buttons and interactions next to swf file, then save it to another swf, and then to a pdf without losing the first swf files within the pdf.
Hope I made my self clear would be too nice if someone could help me or if someone may have a better idea of realizing the whole project.

    Jeffrey,
Thank you for the answer. As you have written:
I will also add that the ID's play mode contol [plays once] [repeat play] does not always control the file once in Acrobat.
I presume you mean version of ID older than CS4 or version of Acrobat Reader older than 9.1
It that is the case I will strongly recommend my visitors to upgrade to this version.
    I hope that would work.
    Thanks again.

  • Emdedding swf file as class throws error while previewing the component

    Dear all,
I am using Flex SWFLoader to load an animated swf file and added it as a component in xcelsius by add on manager. When i click preview button it throws the folloing error.
TypeError: Error #2023: Class must inherit from Sprite to link to the root.
I am embedding swf file by using the following lines of code
    Embed('Animation_1.swf')
    public var Animation:Class;
Then i tried to create my class by extending Sprite, i got the same error,
Can you please anyone help me to solve this issue, all i need is the way to emded the swf file as class and using it in xcelsius. The embedded swf class is working fine alone (that is outside to the xcelsius).
    Thanks & Regards,
    Manimaran.

    Hi
To embed a .swf file in xcelsius using SWFLoader, you have to pass the path of that swf file to the source property of SWFLoader.
By using class concept xcelsius does not get the path of the swf file you have embeded.
In flex It gets that file because that swf file is present in the same directory as your application.
    Hope this helps

My requirement is somethis like this parent child dependency menu.
eg: i have to two tabs 1)alphabets 2) Numerics  First levet menu
if you click alphabets tab then the following menu A/B/C/D/..... Z i have diff charts.. under each alphabet.
If you click numberic tab then the follwing menu should one/two/three/.......ten  here also i have diff charts under number

  • Can a SWF file resize in the PDF when user zooms or goes 'full screen'?

    Hi,
I've got some animation in my Indesign file which I've exported as a SWF and brought back in to InDesign.
I then create the Interactive PDF. It has a white background, so I select it in Acrobat and got to PROPERTIES and give it a transparent background.
BUT, when I go full screen or above 75% - the SWF shrinks on page.
The users of this PDF will need to zoom in, or go full screen. I really need the SWF to be resizing as the user goes full screen, or views it however they choose.
Is there a way to set the SWF to resize with the PDF?

Let me guess. You’re using InDesign CS5 and never bothered to install any of the patches.
    Download and install 7.0.4.

  • Flash not playing correctly in Chrome or Firefox

I did a Flash SWF file on CS5.5, and then published the output. It has 5 imported videos (FLV), all placed within the same directory as the FLA, SWF and HTML files. When I go ahead and open the HTML file on Chrome, the SWF file plays, but when I get to the frame where the placed FLV files were supposed to play, the videos don't appear at all. Same goes for Firefox. However, it plays correctly in Internet Explorer.
I'm a total Flash beginner, so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here.
I've uploaded screenshots of the HTML code and of the SWF file in Chrome.
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/89001193/screenshot1.jpg
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/89001193/screenshot2.jpg
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/89001193/screenshot3.jpg
Also, I tried creating a Win Projector EXE file, and I get an error dialog saying "Destination Directory Does Not Exist. Change Your Publish Settings", whe in fact I used the default publish settings.
I'd really appreciate expert advice on this, especially if you can "dumb down" your answers to total beginner level.

Are you using relative links to the paths of the media, e.g.: assets/videos/movie1.flv ?
What are you using for FLV playback, the FLVPlayback component itself or are you handling NetStream/Video yourself, or StageVideo?
Default publish settings are never to be trusted in Flash, ever. Paths are RARELY ever saved correctly unless they're relative and even then it's not safe to assume it's correct. I've, long ago, made it a habit of going into publish settings, clicking the browse icon next to SWF/HTML/EXE/etc and manually set the location to publish every single time. If you do that the error should go away about publish destination (and yes, it's really irritating).
What FLV codec did you use?

  • Exporting to a .swf or .fla from InDesign CS6 - issues with timeline when opened in Flash.

    Hello,
Looking for help with exporting files for Flash. I have tried both .swf and fla exports from InDesign for the animations I have created. The .swf file will play fine in Flash player but I am having no luck using the .swf or .fla file in Flash. The .fla file will open in Flash but there is no time-line. I can import the .swf file into Flash, but again there is no timeline - all the graphics and elements are visible in the library.
    - Is there a particular way the file(s) have to be exported from InDesign in order for them to appear with a time line in Flash?
    - Are there particular do's and dont's when it comes to creating InDesign files that are going to be used as Flash animation?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Jamie

The page turning animations in an exported swf are accomplished via ActionScript—they are not timeline based tween animations. You might be able to decompile the swf and get to the code, but I've never tried it. Google SWF decompiler.
When you export to fla the animation ActionScript code is not included, so you lose the page turn animations. Each spread is saved as a MovieClip and the clips appear on sequential keyframes of the root timeline. With an fla it's up to you to write any animation code.
