.swf wallpaper on Vista

I downloaded Hoops and Yo-Yo desktop wallpaper which is a
flash file (swf), but it won't work. I KNOW it works on Vista
because they work on all the computers at my work. *sniffles* I
want Hoops and Yo-Yo on my computer too! How can I get Vista to
accept a swf wallpaper? And yes, I downloaded the latest Flash
player and restarted the computer, didn't work, uninstalled,
reinstalled, restarted again, didn't work.
Any ideas?

I am not sure if they are downloadable, maybe you have to check it with google or whatever. Just type the name of the wallpaper or the objects/environment/bla into google and add the words "Vista Wallpaper" to your query.
Maybe google will find something. Otherwise you should look at www.microsoft.com or some wallpaper sites on the web.

  • Moving Animated SWF wallpaper to Phone

I'm a student at Quinnipiac University and I am trying to get
an animated wallpaper to work on my Verizon LG VX8300. I am able to
get the file into the appropriate directory (I believe) but the
phone does not add the swf file to the menu to allow it to be
    chosen as a wallpaper.
When I pulled the existing 4 flash animated wallpapers that
came preinstalled on the phone and decompiled the actionscript I
    found this within FSCommand2.
    FSCommand2('GetVars', 'flashNVData', 'setting', 'menuType',
I browsed through the help section on Flash but couldn't find
any definition for 'flashNVData' and what it does. I figured that
if I had that same line of code in my wallpaper that it might help
it be recognized on the phone but that wasn't the case. I almost
feel like it has to be installed.
After going through more documentation I begin to wonder if
even just a simple flash lite wallpaper needs to be published for
BREW...but it doesn't make sense to me since the files I pulled off
    of the phone were *.swf
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have same problem .6233 problem with swf theme.show white screen.
    can anyone help us?

  • Problem With Swf File. Please Help!!!!

Hi! I recently got adobe flash cs4 and i tried to create swf wallpaper (flash lite 1.1), so everything looked good, untill i opened the file. The problem is its constantly blinking, like its refreshing with every second or frame or something. Then i transfered it to my phone and theres no change. I had the same problem with CS3...I attached the sample, if someone cares to see...Please can somebody help me??? Thank you!

I think (at a first look) that you should put a stop() command at each frame of your movie.
Playhead is running through your movie from one frame to another and back to beginning if you don't stop it with stop() command.
    What I mean is:
    in frame one of your movie put ActionScript: stop();
    in frame two of your movie put ActionScript: stop();
    etc.
If navigation through your movie is linear, like some animations then don't put this AS in frames, but it seems to me that this will solve your problem.
For more (if this isn't helping) upload your movie along with ActionScript.

  • Why do these N series phone NOT support flash wall...

Hello- I am curious as to why these apparently "high end" handsets do not support something as simple as flash (.swf) wallpaper ??
I love the N85 and was hoping to buy one but I then found out that it (among others) does not support flash wallpapers.
I am wondering if this is a compatibility issue with Symbian ??
Does anyone know why this is ??
Now before anyone says anything I am referring to flash wallpapers, NOT screensavers, these handsets do support flash screensavers but NOT wallpapers !!
    Thank You, LL-

If they do it for the S40's then why not the S60's ??
The S40 software and S40 devices are done by a different organization/team in Nokia than the S60 software and S60 devices.
Different organizations have different priorities, different resources, different goals.
There's nothing technically that prevents it from being done. And it is possible that some day it will also be supported in S60 based devices.
However, as things are now, S60 based devices do not support Flash [Lite] wallpapers.
I haven't seen any user-installable applications that'd enable such a function, either. I suspect it is next to impossible to write such an application anyway, without the support being part of the S60/Symbian operating system.

  • Flash .exe or swf files will not play on Vista

I decided to learn how to create captions for flash video,
using CS3. I tested this project and it worked fine. I could just
double-click on the app or the swf and the captioned video played
fine on my Mac. I only had Flash (CS3) on my Mac, so I created the
    files there.
I then published an exe to move over to my Vista machine.
When I double-clicked on the file, it brought up Flash Media Player
version 9, but only showed a blank white box. Very frustrating.
After some research, I read that Windows Vista was not
compatible with Flash Media Player 9. Only 10.02xxx or later (I
forget the exact version - it was long) was supposed to work with
Vista. Since CS3 uses version 9 to pack into the executable (PC) or
app (Mac) projector files, I thought maybe this was the problem.
So I downloaded the demo of Flash CS4, thinking this version
would pack version 10 into the projector and this would solve my
    problem.
While the CS3 version of my saved flash video project would
open in Flash CS4, it would not play when I tested the movie inside
Flash CS4. It would just show a skin at the bottom of the video
player only (with a play/pause button), and it had moving blue bars
on the skin like it couldn't really load either.
I then decided to create the whole flash video with captions
from scratch under Flash CS4. This time when I tested the movie in
Vista, it worked fine. When I published either the projector exe or
the html/swf combination, it worked fine. So proudly (and finally!)
I sent the exe over to my boss. But..... you guessed it. The Flash
Media Player 10 that started up when the file was double-clicked
just showed a blank white screen again!
So then I moved the exe over to another partition to test to
see if there was some dependent directory pathway saved as part of
the flash video file. The exe wouldn't play on the other partition!
So I thought I was onto something. I then tried moving files that I
thought the exe might be dependent on (although isn't the point of
a projector to be stand alone?) to the same directory on this
partition as the flash exe projector file.
I ended up moving the captions.xml file, the swf files (flash
video player skins included), and the html file that the swf file
is supposed to be embedded in. NOTHING worked.
I even read that someone with this problem saved his Flash
CS4 file as a Flash CS3 file before he published it, and that
worked for him. So I tried that too, but with no joy.
So I am totally stumped. Does anyone out there have advice or
    even a solution?
    Much Thanks,
    Chuck

  • Windows vista and problem with association .swf files

I have win vista 32bit. Downloaded and install adobe flash player from adobe site. I have some file with .swf extension but can not get to work with adobe flash player 10.1r52. Ii can asociated ths type of file with adobe flash player. Where is the adobe flash player after installation_in which folder? Confused. Help.

Hi, The Flash files are at C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
Also, if you used IE to Install Flash Player, then in Tools, Manage add ons you also need the Shockwave Flash Object,
the ActiveX Control and it must be Enabled. This is Installed when Flash Player is Installed.
If you are using Firefox or another non-IE browser, then in the plugins, there will be a SWF (version number of Flash Player) and it must be Enabled.
    Hope this helps,

  • Using a swf file as a wallpaper - E51

I have a nice swf file which is a clock with date - on an S40 phone I can install the swf file as a wallpaper, anyone know how i can install it as a wallpaper on the S60 E50? - its in a folder where I can play the swf file and it plays Fine but under options there is nothing to say "use as walpaper"  - can anyone help please?
    Many thanks,
    Andy.

    1) I also think it's much better to keep your images separate from your XML, this prevents a lot of in case you just want to read XML data
    2) What's exactly going wrong here? For the project.xml, make sure it's not inside a directory within the JAR file, or else the variable i will be null. Otherwise it looks fine..

  • SWF transparency in IE9-Vista. Nightmare.

I have scoured the web looking for expert input on this issue and sadly I can find none. I am laughable when it comes to Flash, my ability is poor at best. But I have about 6 websites I've made over the last few years, most of which have simple swf files embedded into the html via the <script><noscript> method using the AC_RunActiveContent script. Two of them have nav menus made with Flash, their displaying properly is DEPENDENT on their having transparent backgrounds. The use of "wmode" and "transparent" in the param and embed tags has always worked for me, until now, and the only problem is when the sites are viewed in IE9 running on Win Vista. My main work computer is Win 7 with the 5 major browsers, including IE9, which displays swf transparency fine across all browsers. Recently I went to my wife's office where there are three machines with Windows Vista +IE9.. and one with Windows XP + IE8. The sites display properly as they always have on XP. But on the machines that have Vista OS with the updated IE9 browser, there is a BLACK BOX bg on every swf file of every web page I've ever built. My most recent Flash embed was done with Dreamweaver CS4 and its different embedding method, no <noscript> tags, and different js files. No matter whether I embed the swf with the AC-RunActiveContent.js method or the swfobject_modified.js method of CS4, when I view my pages pages containing Flash objects on Vista machines with IE9, there is that horrible black box background behind the swf.
My first couple of sites were primitive at best, all tabled html, but at least the Flash content displayed the way I wanted it to. I wanted to know if there is a way to embed these swf objects differently so that viewers with Vista + IE9 will see the transparency properly. I know there has to be a way, but my limited knowledge has not found it yet. I would appreciate any input from people who know the ropes. Thanks.

I just noticed something else interesting. Since I know my code skills are poor, I wanted to find a site with PROPERLY embedded swf object on an html page, just to see if it had the same issue as what I'm experiencing when viewing on IE9-Vista. I went to nedwebs.com and it displays fine, but your site is a flash site, so it's not a true comparison to an html page with swf on the page. Then I found this TUTORIAL page, showing the "proper" way to embed a transparent flash object on an html page. The url is here, go look at the animated leaves swf file on this page to see what it is SUPPOSED to look like ...
    http://www.aleosoft.com/flashtutorial_transparent.html
Now look at the screen shot I have attached. This is how a "properly" embedded transparent swf displays on IE9 with Vista OS.
You're supposed to see a back-image as well as text through the leaves. On IE9-Vista you see none of this, only BLACK behind the swf, and just the left edge of the back image.

  • Swf in aw7 exe - crashing in Vista

I created a CBT product that incorporates various small movie
scenes (swf). It works fine in XP and earlier versions but when
deployed to Vista it experiences random crashes while playing the
various swf. By random, I mean: one time it might go through all
the scenes seamlessly but on re-entering it might crash part way
through the 2nd swf or the next time part way through the 1st or
    5th.
This is error that is generated:
    "Authorware Runtime has stopped working"
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    AppName: Mod1.exe
    AppVer:7.02.0
    Application Timestamp: 406171.ea
    Fault Module Name: FLASHAST.X32
    Fault Module Version: 9.0.0.183
    Fault Module Timestamp: 3d776de7
    Exception Code: c0000005
    ExceptionOffset: 00095990
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.256.6
I tried replacing the FLASHAST.X32 but it still crashes.
Any suggestions as to why this occuring only in the Vista
environment? or what I can do to correct the situation.

First, please send this in to Adobe as a bug. They've
    recently stated
they'll upgrade the web player to address any Vista issues,
    and this
could certainly be one that needs to be fixed. Additionally,
    if they
find problems with the current Flash asset, perhaps they'll
    finally
upgrade that asset so it'll properly play content beyond
    version 6!
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I've not seen this reported before so no idea what a fix may
    be. If
nothing else, you could rework the piece to use the Flash
    ActiveX
control, perhaps, instead of the sprite...
Otherwise, what if you change the properties of the .exe to
    work in
'compatible' mode? I forget the specifics now, but somehow in
    the
properties you can tell it to run as 'Windows XP' or 'Windows
    2000'...?

  • SWF audio skips and noisy in VISTA

    Hi
My SWF audio files were working from a number of websites and
even on my PC in Vista. The last 3 to 4 weeks, all now are skipping
and garbled . When I access the same web site in XP all is OK. Even
when I play the SWF files right from VISTA PC they skip and are
    garbled.
Has something happened in Vista(..ugh) or Macromedia player?
    Any ideas?

  • Vista just updated and now we have a black wallpaper - Satellite P300

Windows Vista updated last night on our P300 laptop and now acts rather weird.
We get only a solid black wallpaper and a lot of the icons we had are no longer there, and it wont change the wallpaper. Most programs arent loading at startup like normal (only the anti virus) and most things are missing from the start menu... has this happened to anyone before? It almost sounds like what they do when you have a pirate copy of Vista (and of course this one IS legit as it came with the lappy)...
    Any suggestings?
I havent physically got to see the laptop and wont be able to til tomorrow myself... Though knowing my mate its probably only something simple but thought there check around before I get there incase.
    Thankyou :)

    Solved the problem..
A windows update some how damaged the register.
I hit log off in windows, then tried to click the user name to log in (we have it set to just auto log in) and while trying to load the profile, we got a The User Profile Service service failed the logon.
A system restore fixed the issue... :)

  • Captivate 5 zip output in Blackboard Vista not running swf

After loading a Captivate 5-generated zipped file, uploading it to Blackboard Vista, browsing to files (while in COURSE CONTENT screen), selecting the .htm files, and attempting to preview it, this error is generated:  blackboard.purdue.edu : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555
Other info:  the Adobe loading icon appears and runs to approx 71% then disappears, leaving a blank screen.  Inquiry into the console errors shows the above error.
This entire process was run prior to Christmas to upload a number of other files, all prepared in the same fashion, uploaded and linked in the same manner.  All of these output zipped files were generated as Flash10.
The process today has been attempted as both Flash10 and 9.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Air ServerSocket not Working the same on XP/Vista/7

I'm having a strange problems with an air socket server i've written.
I have an Air application written using Flash Builder 4.  It's basically a simple HTTP server.  It's purpose it to open a server on a specific port and serve files (both html and swf) out to a web browser.
When i run the air application on my desktop (windows 7, firefox 4.0b11, ie8, flash builder 4 compiled with flex sck 4.1.0) everything works correctly.  Whether i run the server through the Flash Builder debugger or actually do the full packaging and install as a standalone air app then run it using the Air Runtime like any user would.  I load up the server, punch in the address from anywhere and the page loads, and the requested swf displays correctly.  While the server is running on my desktop i've tested clients including Windows XP and Vista with IE8, HTC Evo4g Android phone, and the Playstation 3 browser.  From any tested client with the server running on my desktop all requests are handled correctly and pages/swfs load and display correctly.
The problem comes when i run the air app on another computer.  When i package it and install it on one of my two test systems (Windows XP and Windows Vista) things start to go wonky.  The Air app loads on the two test systems but when a client tries to use their web browser to request a page things don't display correctly.  The client can load the html file fine but the swf that it receives from the server does not display.  I can check the log on the status server and see the HTTP GET being processed, and the file sent.  However, the browser simply displays a blank box where the SWF should be.  With the server running on either of my two test boxes (XP and Vista) the same clients who can connect and display html and swf's delivered from the server experience this problem.
I think i've eliminated browser request as the problem from testing different browsers on different OS's on each of the test installations.  As best I can tell, the problem is with the server side of the app.  The server uses the SocketServer class to listen for a connection and then writes out the HTML headers and content to the socket manually, i'm not using any external libraries for writing to the socket.
here's the code for writing to the socket when a swf is requested.
         var content:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
         var stream:FileStream = new FileStream();
         stream.open(file, FileMode.READ);
         stream.readBytes(content);
         stream.close();
         socket.writeUTFBytes("HTTP/1.1 200 OK\n");
         socket.writeUTFBytes("Content-Type: application/x-shockwave-flash\r\n");
         socket.writeUTFBytes("Content-Length: " + content.length + "\r\n\r\n");
         socket.writeBytes(content);
I don't believe the problem is with the socket write since it works on my desktop but not when the server is running on another.  I'm wondering if the problem is with an external system dependancy.  Are there any external libraries, visual c++ runtimes, tcp/ip libraries that Air uses to fulfil requests to sockets on different operating systems/versions?  I've been searching around the web and browsing through adobe live docs for a few hours on this but can't seem to find a resolution anywhere.  If more detail is needed, please let me know.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I appreciate you taking the time to look at this.  Good to know I'm not completely crazy, that makes me feel a little better.
The 178774 is bytesLoaded()   and 1096810 is bytesTotal() as seen by the swf.
That's what i was experiencing.  The issue you're seeing with it running on vista of the swf apparently only loading 180k of the 1 meg is what i'm experiencing.  For me that  happens when the server side of things is running on my XP or Vista  machine.  On Win 7 it works fine.  Also, for mp3's it seems to only download the first couple seconds.  When i stream an mp3 from the server it only plays a couple of seconds and stops.
Not sure if the index.html file that it serves out is small enough that it gets it in one cycle but for larger files it closes out the socket before sending all the data.
If i get some free time tomorrow i'll see about getting an Ubuntu  virtual machine going and test it there as well.  I don't have access to  a mac to try it on OSX.

  • RH 7 - How can I get .swf movies to work inside CHM output on Windows 7

    Hi RHelpers,
I'm using RoboHelp Html (RH 7, latest patch) on my Win 7 64-bit machine to provide a HtmlHelp (CHM) output.
Now that we're close to releasing, I've been doing some testing, and I've noticed that my SWF movie files do not play inside of Windows 7 when viewing them inside of the CHM file. It keeps asking to install the Adobe Flash Player. But I've already clicked Yes several times to that message, and it still doesn't play the file. I've even manually downloaded and installed it as an administrator, restarted my system and still no go. It just shows a red X in the container where the movie should be playing.
However, viewing the same topic inside of RH's preview window (or inside a browser) seems to work fine. Also, I've copied and pasted the problem CHM onto a virtual machine running 32-bit Vista, and the movies display fine there. This tells me it's something to do with how how compiled files are handled in 64-bit environments.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions out there?

    I see the answer here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/781427?tstart=2
Also I verified that our software does use the 32-bit hh.exe so I'm only seeing this when running the help by itself, outside of our software. That's good news.
