.swf with Vector images playing slllooowww

Good Morning Fellow Developers,
haha - okay so down to business
Flash CS4
published with AS2.0
Flash Player 10
The movie is 15FPS, and lasts about 16 seconds total.
With about 40 Vector images that are constantly, coming into the screen and leaving the screen - and when they're doing that they're also fading in and fading out, and resizing. so a lot is happening on the screen... then after the 15 images or so are done swirling around, they all come in for the grand finale and this is really where it bogs down... All of them, as I said are vector images published as .swfs from Illustrator (if I tried .ai files or anything else it was tons worse). The movie just completely bogs down, and goes very very slowly - I'm assuming this has to do with the computer trying to draw all the vector images as they are resizing, fading, and moving - etc...
The reason my client wants vector images is because of the clarity - Is there anyway to retain the clarity of these resizing images, but reducing the load on the client side so it doesn't slow down?? Any help would be great!
- Also - while I'm here - I should probably look elsewhere, but anyone know of a quick way to expand my movie say from 16 seconds to 24 seconds? Keeping all the same animations but just slowing it down slightly so it's not so fast without redoing everything?

I guess the other question would be then, if I didn't want to make every image a vector one, what are the proper steps needed to make the images as clear and as crisp as possible??

How to replace text with vector image in 3d space

Hello,

I finally took a look at your Vimeo example and I'd guess that the animation of the text was created with Text Animators and range selectors. As Mylenium said, and as I said
Reveal all of the animated properties that you want to transfer to your new layer. Usually pressing the U key will suffice.
Note: Text animations and shape animators will be ignored unless the new layer is a text or shape layer.
You need read up on Text Animators so you can understand them.
Type a question in the search field at the top right corner of After Effects.
And you'll find all of these resources. (providing you have the Adobe Help preferences set to search the web)
Animation presets will save all animated properties applied to a layer, but they will only apply the keyframes to properties that exist on the layer. Text Animators only exist in text layers so you'll have to animate your logo by hand or grab yourself a font creation tool and recreate your logo as a font.

FW CS3 problem with Vector Images PLEASE HELP

My name is Logan and I work for a company called Sutherland
Design Agency. I am creating a website and i created some vector
images in illustrator for the logo because i wanted source files to
be imported into fireworks. When I imported the ai file it seemed
to be rasterized. Is this normal?
I would like my images to stay as vectors in fireworks so i
decided to test this a couple times. When i create a vector i save
it and import it into fireworks. It's a raster. Then i export it as
an illustrator file and when i open it, it's a vector again. So i
know that it is a vector, but why won't it show up in fireworks
CS3.
I also noticed the drop-down bar with the different image
types. Is fireworks auto-optimizing? If so, is there a way to turn
this off? I want to do my own optimization and I want to view the
fireworks document the way it is.
Much help would be greatly appreciated.

AI/PDF/... - SWF with *original* images?

Using Xara, I have created a vector illustration. However, when exporting it to SWF, Xara re-rasterizes all images to a common resolution.
I do not want that!
I want to have the images untouched, because later I want to zoom in on them (in Prezi). I can however, export from Xara to PDF or AI without having the images re-rasterized. This makes me wonder:
Is there any way (software) to convert a vector illustration (PDF, AI, ...) into SWF and leave the embedded images at their original resolution and quality?
By the way, I do know that it is possible to import PDF into Prezi, and then - I presume - Prezi converts it to SWF. However, for various reasons, I don't want to use this option.

The only problem: I don't have AI installed on my machine. So experimentation is a hassle. I was hoping that there is someone on this forum who knows which tools to use for the described purpose. Perhaps even AI is the wrong tool. There is also, for example, PDF2SWF, which is of very light weight. I just tried out PDF2SWF, but unfortunately it doesn't import my PDF correctly.

That's the wrong approach for usage of the SWF in Prezi. I simply want all images in their original resolution. Just take the time and read carefully what I wrote in my initial post...

OSMF swf with embedded video play

I tried to play swf(which embedds video) as SWFElement, but strange
thing happened - sound is playing but no video. Does it have something with codec support?
Or should I try MediaFactory?

Loading external .swf with external images

I have created a basic website and wish to load an external
.swf file into it. The .swf loads fine but the images that are to
load within that particular .swf do not. The images are external
and load using this action script.
btn1.onRelease = function (){
loadMovie ("IMG_2812.jpg", _root.photo.empty)
They load fine using just the .swf file but when the .swf is
loaded within another document it doesnt load the imgs.

Losing detail with vector images

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this... when I copy and paste/import or open a PDF (site plans) in different software programs, they quite often lose clarity and detail. This happens in Word 2000, PowerPoint, sometimes in Photoshop CS. It has happened in InDesign CS as well. Can someone explain this? Can I prevent this? Why does this happen? I would appreciate all help!

This seem to work great! Funny thing is when I scale the font down I lose most of the grunge. I know this is a little small but I've tried to show the difference before and after. The compound path side has the offset path added, which you can see in the larger size. However when the logo is scaled down I loose the grunge. This is even more apparent when it's printed. This logo will be printed on a wide variety of things and at different sizes so I need it to scale correctly. I'd hate to give a client a logo that's only good at one size. Thanks so much for your advice!

Vector image in Photoshop?

Hi Guys
I trying to wrap a text around a circle in this Q1 logo here:

The major problem is that the “bitmap” type image
distorts and become unreadable. I’ve tried vector images both
in Flash and Illustrator, but there I can’t find a text
wrapping function.
I’ve also transferred illustrator images to Photoshop,
but they convert automatically to bitmap.
So:
How can I create and work with vector images in Photoshop?
Or:
Where in the CS3 programs can I work with text manipulations
in a vector format?
Second issue:
It seems like Photoshop only wraps the text 180 degrees? If I
have a longer text the ends of the string will be straight down
from the 180-degree point?

As Snake says, Illustrator is an option. Just draw a circle
around your
logo, click on the 'text to path' tool click on the
circumference line
of the circle and start typing. To rotate the type to the
correct
position select the 'empty arrow' tool, click on the center
of the
circle, chosse the 'rotate' tool in the tool box and spin the

around until its in the desired location.
Having said that....the text around that logo looks a bit too
small to
be read anyway as a gif or jpg file. You need to consider if
it really
adds anything or just looks a mess. Below a certain size gifs
and jpg
text becomes practically unreadable.

Just about every tool in illustrator has to do with vector objects. So File>Open will open a vector file with a few exceptions. Illustrator can open a ai, pdf, eps, and I think svg file. The exception is both pdf and eps can be created by another program and can have data that is not recognizable and therefore may not open.
I recommend that you take the time to read the manual, it provides a vast amount of information about how the tools work. Most book stores have books on illustrator.

Small Bug in Flash 8: loading swf that´s a vectorized image in many layers

Hi! There´s a small bug in flash 8. If you load a swf
that it´s a vectorized image in many layers, when you give it
an action in onLoadInit, like mc.onRelease, the mc don´t
"catch" that action. You can try loading an image (it works), a lot
of swf (it works), but with this kind of swf the actions onRelease,
onPress, etc... don´t work.

I´ll make a different vectorized image to make it works
(if there is only one layer it works)

Seems odd it will only run once. Usually if a cache problem
you get the same
results even when you update the movie or server scripts.
If it is
http:// it is not local even if from the browser
cache.
Verify the html is validated.
Check to see if this applies to all swfs. Create a simple
hello world swf
that connects to a JSP script that returns a simple value to
Flash. If that
seems to work, then the problem is in the JSP or
Actionscripting coding.
Check you can load the JSP script repeatedly using a direct
call to it on
the browser line using

How to I make my animated vector images better quality when exporting to a SWF file?

I created an interactive PDF and SWF file. My animation only works on the SWF file, but the vector image is low res. On the PDF it doesn't animate (which I know,) but it's high res. However, the SWF file animated, but looks low res. Thoughts?

Changing text to an image should never be considered since there is no content for the SEO spiders and the images will slow your page download time to a crawl.

The above method uses an HTML snippet and, since this is fairly cumbersome, is only suitable for adding features like special headings. It does allow you to add text shadow using CSS rather than all these wasteful PNG images.
To use hosted fonts on a whole site you would need to add CSS styles in the head of the HTML doc for every page of your site. But its not low tech and, if you could do this, you wouldn't be using iWeb!

I've stored the library in HARD DISK which is installed inside my computer (1 TB capacity) and different from my hard disk in which I've installed all my applications (600 GB capacity).
I've installed FCP since 2001, bought FCP X in 2012: never had a problem. Yesterday I was editing my video of my last vacations (in California!) and I have updated FCP X, downloading FCP X 10.1.1: then the problem!
Strange is the fact that I've just tried to export a short project, I can see the final product quite well.
What is impossible is playing the clips within Final Cut: they are jumpimg, moving, presenting some frame in green or red ...
Everything all right in iMovie.
I've just checked the RAM: 9GB out of 12 GB is busy, could this be the problem?
Motion is very slow: for 20 sec of project, it takes minutes to play. And once again, if you finalize the projet and export it in Quicktime, you can see it correctly.
I do hope you may suggest something, I'm getting crazy!

Loading SWF with audio playing in it...

I was loading a SWF file, and noticed that even if I didn't
add it to the display via addChild() that I can hear the audio
playing in it. Why is this? And likewise, when I do addChild(), and
see the SWF, then later use removeChild(), and no longer see it, I
can still hear it playing.
I can sort of understand that even though it's not displayed
until using addChild() that one would HEAR it, because it is loaded
- correct? But how would I actually get rid of/delete this when I
no longer want to see/hear it ?

That blog describes adding a generic object in the complete
listener:
var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = e.target as LoaderInfo;
var myLoadedSWF:Object = loaderInfo.content;
You can then target myLoadedSWF and access your SWF. Seems
pretty different than AS1 & 2, but I suppose that's how it is
(unless there are better ways).
