.swf won't open in internet explorer
Hi,
This is driving me mental, flash seems to hate me! created a webpage in dreamweaver and then dropped .swf videos onto it. One video though was originally a .mov which i encoded to f4v in media encoder and then exported as a .swf from flash. It worked fine on my computer and now that it's uploaded it refuses to play. Also it won't preview on my computer anymore! Please help.
This is the page it's supposed to play on www.dpdigitalmedia.co.uk/portfolio.html

If you're having trouble installing Adobe Flash Player, try downloading the installer directly from the following link:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save it, close your browser and run it.

It seems that everytime I try to open a webpage with a .swf
extension (ex.
http://www.freewebs.com/donjworks/snipe.swf),
it just shows a white screen with that little symbol (the one with
the triangle, the circle and the square) in the top left corner.
Its really annoying.

Browsers don't normally open swf files directly, they are
supposed to load through an html header. Many people put swfs on
their
WebPages without the html even though they shouldn't so you
need to set your file associations so that your browser is told to
open
swf files. If you run windows..
Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer)
Tools..
Folder Options..
File Types..
Scroll down to SWF
In the lower box it says what SWFs are supposed to open with.
If it doesn't say Internet Explorer or Firebox or (your browser)
then
you need to click on the 'change' button and select your
browser from the list. Turn on the check mark for "always open
with..."
If it already says your browser name then the browser might
have it's security settings set too high to view the swf files. (or
JavaScript turned off)

PDF's won't print in Internet Explorer after upgrading to Adobe Reader 11.0.03
PDF's won't print in Internet Explorer 9 after upgrading to Adobe Reader 11.0.03.
The print dialogue box won't open....nothing happens.
Desktop OS is Windows 7 SP1.
Randy HeilTwo obvious troubleshooting techniques are to delete and re-install the printer driver (or updating printer driver) and fixing the installation of Acrobat. Have you given those a try?

Mostly websites are not open on internet explorer and other browsers in my laptop
mostly web sites are not open in internet explorer and other web browsers in my laptop.
Rob,
Many thanks for your reply. It is appreciated greatly. I have added text against each of the points that you raise.
troubleshooting Addons is somewhat complex.....as from this side we do not know which addon may be causing the problem, so the
only recourse is to disable the types of addons that commonly cause problems in IE (for security and usablility reasons some older addons that you may have used previously with IE8/XP are no longer compatible with newer versions of IE that you are now using)....
The following instructions will stop your Toolbar and Browser Helper addons from loading in IE.
Start>Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced tab,
uncheck "enable third-party browser extensions".
close any open IE windows and restart IE for the changes to take effect.
[GotaQ: Yes, did this but the problem then is that IE won’t open for me. There is no icon in the start menu or task bar
and routes such as using a command prompt or ‘run’ instruction don’t work. When I try this I get a window on screen that flickers for a bit and then disappears.]
Alternatively, your problem with keyboard input is most likely being caused by a form filling addon or a finger print reader
addon? Note: some addons like the Google toolbar have multiple features like form filling, you can disable the GTB's form filling features from its settings dialog (click the 'spanner' icon on the toolbar)
Use Tools>Manage Addons>Show all addons to locate any such addons and use the Addons Manager to disable them. (close and
reopen any open IE windows for the full changes to take effect).
[GotaQ: I tried disabling all of the add-ons in Google Chrome and the key-stroke mapping problem persisted, unfortunately!] -

Had to reinstall Software and Safari window won't open for internet
I am running 10.3.9 and screwed up my computer royally yesterday by apparently deleting important files. I reinstalled the software but the only browser that will connect to the internet or even bring up a window is firefox. My Safari will open but now browser window will show up. Netscape won't either. Internet Explorer will open but not connect.
I cannot upgrade any higher because it's an old G4 with only about 20GB of original space with only about 2.7GB left available.Hello,
I am running 10.3.9 and screwed up my computer royally yesterday by apparently deleting important files. I reinstalled the software...
Can you recall what software it was that you deleted and reinstalled?
One quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account. This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed) -
FDF file opening in Internet Explorer--not in Adobe Acrobat Professional XI
Good morning!
I have created a form in Acrobat Professional XI and have a submit button that emails that data back as an .fdf file. This is working as it should.
However, on some of the returned emails, the .fdf file is opening in Internet Explorer--not in the associated file in Acrobat Professional XI.
Is this the default? Is there a way that I can specify that it always opens in Acrobat?
I looked on line, and found where you have to associate that type of file with Acrobat
I have Windows XP
in My Computer--in Tools, Folder Options, File Types, I have where FDF files are associated with Adobe Acrobat.
Are there other changes that need to be made?
We have a work-around--we can import the file data into the form--just takes a little longer.
I tested this before I posted the form online, and it worked perfect. Now that it is online, we are seeing some snags...
As always--Thank you for your help!Thank you for your quick response!
no--it is an fdf file. Has an .fdf extension.
One difference that I have noticed that the file that is opening correctly (in acrobat) was sent from a gmail account. The file that is opening in internet explorer was filled out in Adobe Reader XI from an outlook email.
This is the window that appears when the file is opened.
On the Tools--the only items that are accessible from this screen is the AddOnTools--not all the tools sets.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! -

Hyperlink in MS office to pdf opens in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox
I have some documents (Excel, Word) that contain hyperlinks.
Hyperlinks to websites (www.***.com or http://***.htm) nicely open in Firefox. But links to online pdf's (http://www.***.com/***.pdf) all open in Internet Explorer.
How can I change this?
I'm using Windows XP pro, Firefox 3.0.5, Office 2003, Adobe Reader 9.0.0I have the same problem (roughly) - I have PDF hyperlinks in an Excel spreadsheet and, when clicked, instead of them opening directly in Acrobat (or via Firefox, my default browser), they open via IE. Regular HTML links in the Excel spreadsheet open in Firefox.
I have enabled the '''Block PDF files' access to all web sites''' option under ''Trust Manager'' category in the Adobe Reader ''Preferences'' tab.
I have also disabled the '''Adobe PDF Link Helper''' Extension in the ''Manage Add-ons'' tab in IE.
Obviously, neither of these settings made any difference.
* Windows XP Pro SP3
* Microsoft Office Excel 2003 SP3
* Internet Explorer 8.0
* Adobe Reader X (Version 10.1.1)
* Firefox 8.0 -
TS4022 Why does my icloud open in internet explorer when it is not my main browser?
Why does icloud open in internet explorer when I use Google as my main browser? I did something to make it happen and can't find how to change it back.
Hey man I was having the same problem and I found the answer.... Im going to put the steps you have to follow.
1.Open www.icloud.com on your Internet Explorer and if you're signed in you have to sign out.
2. Open www.icould.com on your Google Chrome and then sign in and click on the box that says "stay signed in" or something like that.
3. Try to open icloud the normal way you do it and it has to open on Chrome.
This worked for me, hopefully it works for you man, let me know. -

but my client asking why URL not open Internet explorer and moreover third party they given WSDL that file is open in internet expolerer.so
my question is why third party WSDL open in Internet explorer and why PI generated WSDL file not open in internet explorer.
please guide me where i did wrong and what should i answer to my client regarding above issue.
I hope,could you please clearly given points.Hi,
Firstly, you should not give the host name and port name of the URLs that you are using. It is your company's security issue.
And the message that you get for the wsdl , when you open in IE is nothing wrong.
The wsdl can be of two types. One is a design time wsd, where you will just see the structure, importing and exporting parameters. It does not have the binding parameters within the wsdl.
When the same wsdl is implemented, then it has a binding with the backend system. It becomes a runnable entity. The wsdl generated from your PI system is one such entity (It is tied to a backend and is a runnable web service). Hence IE shows that message.

When I right click on an entry in the bookmarks and select Open in Internet Explorer, nothing happens. It does work when I am on a page , right click and select View this page in IE.
If you right-click the image and choose View Image Info, what shows as "Type"?
If it shows JPEG image, for example, make sure to save the file with a .jpg file extension. If you place quotation marks around the entire file name, e.g.,
"myfile.jpg"
then you can ensure that the name as the correct extension. Does that help? -
