SWING for UNIX based Internet Explorer

I intend to use the Microsoft Internet Explorer based on Sun Solaris. The machine contains the JVM and JRE. However, in order to display SWING based applets an additional plug-in for the Internet Explorer is required. I have problems in finding the right plug-in on the sun internet pages. Does anybody know how I can find the plug-in?

Flash...swf...fla...will play on either platform. Doesn't matter what platform creates the flash.
Just like Quicktime videos will play on either a widows or mac computer. As long as the computer has quicktime on it. Same with WMV.

I’m sorry to hear that there is an error message displayed in your U410 Laptop while installing “Utilities and SDK for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications in Windows 8”, make sure you are installing this application as an Administrator User, if the issue is same even in this user account, I suggest you to download the package again and right click in the downloaded file select “Run as administrator” to get it installed in administrator mode, below is the link to download the SDK package:

Just wanted to let you know that the issue with IE9 is still being worked on. The browser is not yet fully supported by our software supplier, but they are currently working on this and it will be fixed in the coming weeks.
As imjolly suggests, please try using IE9 in compatibility mode, or alternatively use an earlier version of IE, or another browser.
I'll let you know when this is resolved.

Will you ever give us developers some decent tools for testing in Internet Explorer?

Today I got a bug report for one of our websites, and its a bug that only affects IE10, no other browsers.
My office has just upgraded to Windows 8. To then realise that IE11 is installed and you do not allow us to install IE10. What good is that? Seriously.
I know you have that compatibility mode, but that really doesn't work as well as you think it does. Not for styling issues anyway. Please please please help developers out and give us tools so we can actually test things in different versions
of browsers. Let us install different versions of browsers without them affecting each other. Just something so we as developers can actually make a product that works in all your versions of IE.

How can I use same bookmarks file for both Firefox & Internet Explorer?

There are lots of questions and answers about how to import/export bookmarks/favorites to/from Internet Explorer, but they all seem to assume that afterward you're only going to use the one browser.
But like many other people, although I prefer to use Firefox, there are times I need to use IE for certain sites, or to see how a page I'm creating will display to IE users. This means that I regularly edit bookmarks/favorites in both browsers, and can't possibly keep up with importing/exporting back and forth. What I need to do is use the same set of bookmarks with both browsers, so that the next time I bookmark a page in IE it will be available when I re-open Firefox and vice versa.
I had things configured that way on my last computer, and it worked beautifully for years. Of course, it's long enough ago that I forgot how I did it, and a perfect memory wouldn't help anyway, since it was under Windows XP, and older versions of both browsers. Now I'm in the throes of learning Windows 7 on a new machine and haven't yet figured out how it thinks or wants me to think, so until I get my feet under me I'll need some pretty specific instructions. (Explanation would also be appreciated, as I do like to know the whys of things and it will help me become more proficient eventually; but at this moment my mental bandwidth is pretty low and my priority is just to get some basic things working.)

Also you might be interested in [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab-2-ff-36 IE Tab v2]. It will allow you to use the Internet Explorer rendering engine from within firefox. It is useful if you want to see how a page would display in IE without leaving Firefox.

How to restore Adobe Flash Player for 32 bit Internet Explorer of Windows 8.1 64 bit?

Default Windows 8.1 64 bit install runs Internet Explorer 11 32 bit and all it's features, but slight disturbance for install of integrated applications runs user in such a trouble of loopback which he or she cannot escape, because problem application doesn't
runs for Windows or for it's programs, won't show it's Windows existence but wouldn't allow install of it's new software, I could only install complete new program for Windows program to run desired object.
I am using Rocket browser for Internet Explorer 11 32 bit because of problem of Adobe Flash Player uninstall or install.
But how many applications do I have to search, trial and if at all successful install for use because of problems of such applications of Windows?

As we have reviewed in other threads on the same topic. Internet Explorer for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 make use of separate management and content processes which on the desktop in a 64 bit environment are 64 bit and 32 bit respectively.

Internet Explorer 11 needs websites 'Trusted', add all pages in need of running addons, and rest Windows operating system handles.
Now I am listening to songs on Windows Media Player (T3 skin) from a website which earlier messaged Adobe Flash Player not installed refusing playing songs, but now running programs without installing Adobe Flash Player.

No per user setting for JRE in Internet Explorer on W2K/W2K3 term. server

After installing Sun Java SE on terminal servers (both 2000 &
2003) you have an additional option within Internet Explorer 5.5 & 6.x under tools, intenet options, advanced; called "Java (Sun) Use JRE
XXX (applet) requires restart". This option cannot be set on a per user base. When a user changes this setting, it is changed for ALL terminal server users immediately. This is a big problem.
It should be able to set this on a per user base.
Current key is located at: HLKM\SOFWTARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_SUN\SELECT
As some websites require Sun_Java and others won't work at all
when the Sun Java options is selected each user should be able
to select or disable this option on a per user base.

Hello. Sorry, don't have an answer for your issue. Just wondering whether you've experienced this issue in your Windows Server 2003 envionmnet.
We're running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) (and Citrix Presentation Server 4.0). We typically have 20+ concurrent users logged on to a server. Since JRE 1.5.0_7, we've had issues with Internet Explorer taking upwards of 15 seconds to display even though Iexplore.exe appears in Task Manager almost immediately. If we uninstall JRE 1.5.0_7 and use 1.4.2_6, Internet Explorers displays fine. We've tried JRE 1.5.0_11 and 1.6.0_3, and Internet displays slowly. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any thoughts of why this is occuring? Thanks.

Toolbars for PDF in Internet explorer

I somehow turned off my Acrobat toolbar (menu)in Internet Explorer. I cannot figure out how to get it turned on again (and actually have looked at the preferences/internet. Any advice? Thanks.

Bernd, thanks for the answer. It worked - sort of. On the problem machine, but in another user account, it clearly turns it on and off. However, on the problem machine in the problem user account, it does nothing. I had to resort to a superstitious behavior of searching, then when that shows up on the tool bar, right clicking, and adding the other features. I tried a reinstall of IE7, as well as a repair on Adobe Professional 9. Also, this feature seems undocumented (there is a shift f8). In any case, I think it is solved. G

[Outlook 2013] Apps for Office and Internet Explorer 11 (IE11)

We have the following configuration:
Windows 7 Professional,
Internet Explorer 11,
Microsoft Office 2013 (32-bit),
Microsoft Exchange 2013 CU6,
Symantec Enterprise Vault 11.
Patch level Microsoft Until 03-oct-2014, so very very recent.
What is the problem, in Exchange its possible to use "Office Web Apps" for integration with OWA. This works very good and we dont have any problems with OWA and the Office Web Apps within OWA Enterprise client.
But, in Outlook 2013, almost every "App for Office" crashes with a popup from Internet Explorer 11. When we open the App, we get a loading.... and after a while A popup with the message "Internet Exporer stopped working".
This is with every App i tested. And it can be reproduced.
What we tried:
Proxy settings;
Re-install Office 2013;
Internet Zone settings;
Browser compatibility modus with zones;
Reset internet explorer settings;
Various reg-hacks for IE security;
GPO settings for untrusted locations of Office Web Apps.
And lucky? No.
So we went back to IE9, and it works like a charm. No problems at all. But Unfortunately, IE9 is not an option due to company apps written for IE10+.
But when it works outside Outlook 2013 in IE11, but not inside outlook with IE11, there must be a problem somewhere with Outlook 2013/IE 11 integration. And actually, the currents Apps we don't need in Outlook 2013 (until snd quarter 2015, then we need them).
So for this time we configured "Block Apps for Office" GPO setting and depoyed it. And... In Every Office components Apps are disabled, but NOT in Outlook. So the GPO is not working for Outlook.
How to solve?

Firefox does not fully load. blue letters are visible for links. Internet explorer works fine. I downloaded the latest version of firefox

"_blank" won't do anything for me in Internet Explorer 7

I have a bunch of menus on my website that are supposed to
open HTML in blank windows using the "_blank" function but now it
won't work in IE 7. Now when I click on those buttons it doesn't

IE 6 SP2 won't work with "_blank" from an swf either. The
only thing I've come across which worked is setting it to
"_self".

Requiremts for viewers in order to open a SWF file using internet explorer

We are using Xcelsius 2008 SP3 and the swf work fine with:
IE 6 SP3
Adobe Reader 9 (doesn't seem to work in previous versions)

Or try and see if Opera, or Safari 3.2. I assume you've tried changing User Agent setting? and that doesn't work? you need to reload or logout and log back in - may need to delete any cookies they may have left behind, too, before it will work.
Enable the Debug menu or Developer menu in Safari. In Opera, there are site specific preferences and you can set Opera to present itself as Internet Explorer.
Most sites that act this way are in for some "forced" upgrades probably when IE8 comes out and aren't ready.

Internet Explorer 10 is not remembering website credentials.

Internet Explorer 10 is published from WS2012 session based RemoteApp.
User profile disk is in use, set to store all user settings and data, no folders are excluded.
I can logon to a webpage, click for IE to save the credentials but they are not displayed in credential manager and if I logoff then immediately logon again need to enter full webpage credentials.

If you are running windows 7 then there is one KB article for this issue. According to that, this issue occurs because the WinInet cache task is not notified to close when you log off or restart the computer. Please check beneath article for details.

Column widths OK in Firefox & Opera, NOT WORKING in Internet Explorer?

I've got a table based website and for some reason Internet Explorer is messing up my layout? It works fine in Firefox and Opera but IE is extending one particular <td> tag beyond its set width? What's even more strange is that the problem only happens on 3 of the 5 pages?
The <td> in question is the first one (width="175" and class="banner_logo")
Tested with Firefox 3.5, Opera 10.10, Internet Explorer 8
