Swipe 4 fingers to the right for a "new desktop window"?
Hey everybody, I recently upgraded to OSX Lion and I am not able to find this option where you can swipe to the right with 4 fingers and it goes to a new "desktop window" where you can open a new app and switch back to the other window by swiping to the left. I'm not exactly sure about what its called but I know it's there somewhere..
I've seen my professor use this in class on his macbook pro so I know that option is there somewhere but I can't seem to find it in system preferences.

I can't seem to find anything there. I'll try to be more clear:
When you swipe 4 fingers to the left, it takes you to the Dashboard (with those mini apps such as the puzzel/clock/calculator) and when you swipe 4 fingers to the right, it brings you back to the desktop. What I'm referring to here is an option which enables you to "add more desktops" so that when you swipe 4 fingers to the right from your original desktop, it opens up a new desktop with no apps on it so you can have Keynote app on one desktop and safari running on the other and interchange between the desktops with the swipe of 4 fingers.....

I am in the market for a new desktop.
Sorry if this is convoluted. I am currently doing my research on a new comp. and I am unfortunately over all over the map. I have and love my 160gb ipod and my wife feels the same about her ipad. What we dont share affection for is our all in one Dell. I am looking for a multifuctional piece of equipment, most likely a desktop. I would love the mobility or the ability to at least move around my house to do my thing rather than being confined to my home office, but this isnt a deal breaker either so I am for the most staying away from MBP unless someone points out some good sell points. I am focusing on a desktop that can handle basic to intermediate home office usage as I occassionally do some work from home (Project Management Consultant). I game some, mostly just World of Warcraft and perhaps some Sims or Sim City type stuff. No first person shooters or anything extensive. I also have a massive music collection which is why I am favoring going all out apple base to keep things smooth between the platforms. The idea of having the ability to do some video editing is also intriguing for work purposes as well. Also of course the basic usage for internet browsing. I am hesitant to going the gaming desktop route because I dont feel i play enough of the high end games to justify going that route, but I do play WoW approx 10-20 hours a week give or take. Can a iMac handle what I am looking for or should I look elsewhere. The apple quality isnt an issue with me, I just need to know if this platform is right for what I need. I appreciate anyhelp. Also, I am approx 2 hours or so a away from the nearest apple store so talking to them isnt a possibility.

ShawnIf considering an iMac, if your gaming activity is this many hours, I would look at the 27 inch screen model.
Many people have complained about the iMac's stock 512 MB graphics card not being fast enough for WoW.
So, you may have to opt to purchase some custom options such as the 1 or 2 GB VRAM video card.
The stock RAM will not be enough for gaming, also.
Instaed of buying the extra RAM from Apple, you can buy RAM cheaper from third party suppliers.
Plan on installing, at least 12 GBs of RAM and consider installing 16 GBs of RAM.
New iMacs can take up to 32 GBs of RAM. You can install more, at your discretion, at a later date if you feel you need it.
But for gaming with WoW, 12-16 GBs should be enough. -

So my my main question is going to be this: Does Best buy match prices or beat them out if i find the same model cheaper and with a mail in rebate on another retailer's website such as office depot?
I am doing price comparisons right now, because i don't know how long my current HP Pavillion Entertainment PC will hold out. I have had it for 3 years and now my on board graphics chipset or the LCD Monitor one are starting to mess up on me and i had to replace the fan and battery almost 2 or 3 months ago and now this issue is popping up. It boots up with a green screen when i turn it on at the moment, but then after it has warmed up the screen clears back up like normal. So that is why i figured that it is about time for a newer model laptop and where my researching and price comparing will come in down the line.
If you have any other laptop suggestions for me to at least look at please tell me. I want at least 750 GB or 1 TB HDD and an Intel Core i5 or I7 Processor in these suggestions too, because i do heavy duty Video Editing and Processing for my website and for Video Game Video Walkthroughs and need not only the best Processor it can handle, but for website backups and for the space doing Webcam video recordings can handle too.

The next thing after I save up after getting whatever next Laptop I buy will be a Cooling Pad and an External HDD that I can put into one of the USB Ports or where ever you hook them up so that I can backup it up for a rainy day as they say.
The only reason why I am not opting for the becoming popular SSD is the Price tag to get the amount of space I would need is still out of my price range if I got one included. I have to be realistic and on budget as much as I don't want to be.

I would have shown a 15 screen laptop, but the CD/DVD Combo drive is not included in any of them. I would need one to back up my new laptop's OS and files the first week I use it to save from having to reformat or reinstall stuff if things even got messed up.

I tried getting the update for my new iphone and now it is asking me to activate it again but won't let me, how do I fix this? I had started using it for a few hours and tried getting the update and now it won't let me activate the phone. I also can't call the helpline because it won't let me leave this screen on the phone that says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." What it says on iTunes after I fill out the activation info is "There was a problem activating your iPhone. Please contact Verizon Wireless at 1-800-922-0204 to have this iPhone added to your account. Click Continue to be able to explore its features and the App Store." Please help this is driving me nuts!

I migrated info from a hard drive to a new mac under time machine. It says I have shared files, but I don't see the old info on the new machine. Where do I look for it ? How do I make the old backup the basis for my new macbook ?
The old OS was Mac X 10.5.8. I think the new one is 10.7.2 Lion.Have a read here How do I set up a new Mac from an old one, its backups, or a PC?

Ok, so basically my charger fell apart on my MacBook pro(2010) and I didn't have the money for a new charger, I got it in the states too if that's relevant. Basically my laptop will not charge, I bought a new charger yesterday and it's still no-use,not charging . No green or orange light coming on on the new charger either.
It is one of the items that Apple gets criticized at regular intervals. The MagSafe connector is proprietary and unlicensable, so the company has a lock-in on the power options. And as you have now found out, your hijinks trying to avoid buying an expensive new charger may have caused more damage and led to a total no-charge condition.
If lucky and no physical damage has occurred (there IS a fuse in there somewhere on the circuit boards), maybe resetting the SMC can restore charge functionality, provided there is still enough juice: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 -

i am currently in the market for a new laptop and seeking some advice.
I am debating between getting a basic rMBR 15' 2.4 GhZ 8/256 model and MBR 2.3 GhZ 4/500. The price for the basic rMBR 15' 2.4 GhZ 8/256 model is 1,867 euros with Apple's friends and family discount i am getting (stock price is 2250 euros here in Ireland). MBR 15' 2.3 GhZ 4/500 starts at 1850 euros and i am not getting friends and family discount off that (don't want to go into details). In any case this isn’t the sort of cash I have lying around.
Apple’s rMBP is a wonder of modern engineering, there is no doubt about that. What i am concerned about is all the software that has to update to add higher res images which takes time and a lot more space because they are effectively doubling the size of the image and my general browsing experience where buttons, logos and anything affected by Photoshop’s “Save for the Web” setting will look blurry or pixelated. This is certainly not the kind of experience I am looking forward to after spending 2k on a laptop.
I'm not a heavy user also I like to take my stuff around with me and I do a little Pro Tools and Logic once in a while.
Any thoughts are appreciated.What you were told is not correct. Apple doesn't care where your music originated and nothing will be "blocked", but you can only sync your iPhone to one device at a time.
When you first connect your iPhone to a different Mac or PC, you will see a dialog similar to the following (substitute iPhone for iPad - the result is the same):
It will do exactly what it says. If you "Erase and Sync" the iPhone will be erased first. So, make sure whatever music you have on the iPhone is stored someplace else first. Transfer that music to your new Mac's iTunes Library, and then sync your iPhone to it. You will lose nothing that way. -

in BO CMC, how we will know what are rights and authorizations he has for all groups...
SriLog in to CMC and slect the group and select properties of the group or user and to user security to see their rights.
I don't see any other automated system telling you the rights for each group.

As most of us know, World of Warcraft is getting better graphics in the upcoming expansion. I'm worried that my desktop now (which can barely play the newest expansion) won't be able to play the upcoming expansion, thus I am looking for a new desktop. Not an amazing one, but just a good one with nice RAM, and a good processor. I agree. If you don't already know where to find parts at good prices (BB sometimes has good deals but rarely on individual parts. In some cases their RAM prices are more than 3-4 times the price of other reputable sources of RAM.), you probably don't want to assemble a machine. (Note: You might have a friend who is comfortable with such things that can help you.)

I have a weblink. When the end user clicks on the web link a new browser window opens up.
I would like to be able to control the appearance of the new browser window. I want to be able to hide url address bar, tool bar and all menus.
Is there a way to do this by editing the weblink in CRM OnDemand ?
