Swipe to chosen article/Hidden article

Would be great if it was possible have arcticles or pages that could only be accessible by hiperlinks i think is the main thing i couldn't do to transport my design to DPS.
The other thing would be nice in some apps is be able to choose the state where swipe goes to, example:
I'm in an article with 3 pages, in the 3rd page of this article I swipe and goes to seconde page of an second article, or first page (in this case always first page, not only when i do it for first time). It's really strange when i open the app, go to an article swipe to next one, go to page in that article, go back change page in previous artcle and when i go forward again i'm in the page i left, not first page.

Yves,
Are you testing in Adobe Content Viewer or a custom viewer? We specifically did work to make swiping to the next article work inside a horizontal scrollable frame.

    Hi Vikrant,
There are two ways of Uploading the mass files in a single way
First one: "Portal Drive" and another one is WebDev so you can follow both the process of uploading bunch number of files in portal content server.
    WebDav process
Click on Repository ->details> Setting> Access Link-> Copy the WebDav path and paste it into address bar of the Explorer
Than click on Webdav and enter the username and password than you can easily entered the directory and paste the file easily.
    Portal Drive
Mention the Exact path in the Server URl -> Go to Work Online--> than they require Username and password after that they
can directly enter into the server where you can store ur file.
This will helpful to you.Or If you need my help in portal drive so i can write the step by step.

  • Publish articles, edit articles, help new Linux users

Firstly, i apologize if this is in the wrong forum category. I've been procrastinating on this for a while now, because i do not quite have my system complete; but this feature has been usable for a long time now, and i guess that i can start letting others use it...
Anyway, i have http://LinuxIntro.com which is (obviously) a Linux and open source software oriented website. I am too damned busy to keep up with creating new articles, and updating out of date articles, and exploring new areas of Linux and Open Source software to educate myself enough to make articles for others to learn it.
I have been running my unfinished Content Management System on this site (and on my political reform website, that is likewise falling into a state of neglect for the same reasons), and noticed that many others are trying to assist the open source movement by publishing their own articles on their own little home pages, or blogs.
So now it is a community content management system; a hybrid between a wiki, a blog, and a high-end commercial CMS. It allows users who have any at least Level 1 privileges (normal 'users' are level 0) to publish articles and edit articles (even if they did not create it, as sometimes another user may have more experience, and thus more useful information to add to an existing article), and for users with Level 2 privileges to move articles and upload images, and for users with Level 3 (highest you can be) privileges to delete articles and to delete images.
I don't have any publishing guidelines written yet, but for the most part it is common sense. All articles must be filed in the appropriate category (just try your best, and at worst i will just move it to the correct category), and limit only 1 video per article page (articles can have many pages).
When you log in, you can click on "Account" and then "My Website" to enter your own website address for others to see. When a user reads an article you've written, they can click on your name below the article, and see your profile, which will display anything you want to share (website, bio, interests, etc). If you publish an article, you are not limited to keeping it only on Linux Intro. You can publish it on your own site, or any other site; however you cannot delete it, as others may have made a contribution to your article, and that would not be fair to them. You can add YOUR VERY OWN you tube videos that you already have, or any new ones that you make; just remember 1 video per page. Also, if you DO post a video with your article, make sure that what you do and say in the video is typed out in the article's paragraphs. This is not a video site, and so textual content is mandatory for articles; also text is accessible and video is not, so i try to adhere to 801 standards as much as possible (or practicable).
For the record, in case anyone is wondering, this is NOT an attempt to 'steal users' from this website. It is only an attempt to create a more user-engaged, comprehensive, and in-depth informational material for new Linux and Open Source users to benefit from; and to make it MUCH easier to publish content.
Oh, almost forgot, if you have been a member of this forum for longer than 4 months, and have over 200 posts, PM me HERE with your Linux Intro user name, and i will raise your security clearance on Linux Intro so that you can publish articles (otherwise you're only a user). If you already have a moderator/maintainer/admin status here on this forum, then PM me HERE with your user name on Linux Intro and i will raise your security level on Linux Intro.
I know that the site may still look like crap, but i'm about to redesign it again to look much more clean (like i just did with http://Ionisis.com) and presentable. I am brainstorming for ideas atm, and should begin with a new design tomorrow.
Also, if you do not find an appropriate category for your article, then feel free to suggest one; but i believe that i have a fairly comprehensive --yet still generalized-- list to choose from. And please do let me know what you think about this system.
Try to remember that "articles" are not the same as "article pages". An article is an object that is independent from its pages, and has a parent-children --or one-to-many relationship with its pages. You publish the ARTICLE's details, like its title, keywords, and description, and THEN you publish any/all of the pages that belong to that article. You can completely ignore the "previous" and "next" options, as the system takes care of pagination automatically; those are for advanced use, namely, chainlinking disparate articles together (the end of one article leading to the beginning of another).
I have also made a test category for hackers to publish and attempt to hack/destroy/modify-without-permission articles in. If you want to try to hack the site, please do, but if you believe that your hack may result in data loss, then try to limit it to the hacking category so that it is not 'good data'. And, obviously, if you are able to hack this site in any way, please let me know how you did it.
Enjoy, and please do give feedback!

Well the forums there are actually not meant to take the place of other forums like this. The forums there serve a slightly different, and less obvious purpose. You see, if someone joined the website, there would be no way to know what kind of person they are without having forums for them to show their character, so it would be insane to give them any kind of administrative access to public content. Also, the forums were originally meant to assist users who had questions about the tutorials on the site. I used to have it so that at the bottom of each tutorial was a link to the appropriate forum category for it; but because i modularized my WCMS and UFMS to accommodate clients who may want one and not the other, i broke that tie.
However, if someone wanted to write an article for Arch, or post a question about Arch, then they could send me a PM on the site (or any other means, i suppose), and i could add that category in a few seconds (it's all dynamic, almost nothing in my IMS systems are static).
Oh, and thanks about the design. It's a bit grunge, as this site caters to that crowd. Face it, even us IT Geeks don't like the 'suit-and-tie' attitude. I may change it a bit more later, one of my girlfriends said she hated the background (but i like it) . I was primarily concerned with getting rid of the "Tron" theme that i had, and make it more user friendly asap, and the fine tuning can (and will have to) wait.

  • What is the process for transferring Consignment Stock from Article to Article?

    Dear Gurus
Just like the Movement Type 309 is used to transfer the stocks of a particular article to Another Article, Is there a Movement Type for transferring the Consignment stock from one article to the other?
As I see, in MB1B there is no Movement Type 309K.
How should I go about this. Kindly suggest.
    Regards
    Sahil G.

    Hello,
As mentioned by Sridhar, we cannot directly transfer article into another in consignment. The reason is that valuation affects during article to article transfer and consignment stocks are not valuated.
You have to trasfer the consignment stock to own stock using 411 K (MB1B). Now, use movement type 309 to transfer the stock from article to another. Afterwards, transfer back to consignment using 412 K..
    Thanks,
    Venu

  • A 'Hidden article' in the finished content

Is there a way of hiding an article?
I'd like to have a 'bonus' story in the folio but I don't want to be able to qwipe to it, only 'click' on it and the user will be taken to that article.
I've hidden it from the contents (like an advertsiment) and pushed it to the end of the folio but I'd like not to be able to swipe to it.
    I'm in CS5. All updated.
    Thank you.

You can put it on page 2 of the last article, and make page 1 black, then set the button to navto that page, its by no means perfect but it swipes to a blank page which looks like the end, and clicks to a sort of hidden page

  • Return to Page 1 of an Article Upon Article Swiping?

I have a client request that I'm pretty sure is not doable but figured I would ask:
Let's say I have an article with 20 pages and I swipe down to say, Page 8. If I then swipe right, I am on another article. Now, if I swipe left to go back to the previous article, it remains of the same page I was on before, Page 8.
Is there a way to have it return to Page 1 if I were to swipe back to that article?
    Thank you.

    No, there isn't.

  • Forcing Page 0 when moving from article to article

I'm just getting started with these new tools.
I have a simple folio with two articles. The 2nd one has two pages. When I leave the 2nd article from page 2 and return again I want that article to force the viewer page to the first page of that article (section).
The way it works now, if you leave page 0, and navigate down, you end up back on that page when you return.
    Thanks, John

So, there's no action/code I can apply to a global swipe or article loading to reset this?
This is now how the BMW magazine pad works. Aren't they using this same technology?

  • When I do a quick read of an article, the article is always highlighted in blue as though I had selected it for copying. Windows xp, firefox 12.

I have FF12 on a windows xp machine. When on Huffington post and try using the quick read function, the article is hightlighted in blue. This was true with the FF11 version. Doesn't happened with internet explorer or safari. Before I can read the article I have to click within the article just beside the letters.
    Sincerely, Sigmund S Gould

Yes, I see that too (now that I figured out that I need to hover a photo to access Quick Read). It takes extra work for a script to select text that way, so I'm not sure why it happens. Perhaps someone should submit the puzzle to the HuffPost so they can try to solve it...

  • Converting HAWA Article (Trading Article) into ROH (Raw Material Article)

We at Pan Foods India Ltd.are in the business of buying Rice, Wheat etc. as Raw material for which the Unit of Measure is Kgs.
Rice is then packed in polythene bags and sold in the market.End Product is a trading article (HAWA) having Unit of Measure as PC (Piece).
Raw material Rice & Plastic bags are first getting converted into a Rice Packet having Unit of Measure PC thru the Production Planning Cycle route. It first gets converted into a semi finished Article (HALB) which subsequently gets material to material transfer to Trading Article (HAWA).This is our business requirement.
We have another business scenario. From the market we receive damaged/torn Rice packets. These packets we receive in our warehouse as Trading Article having UOM as PC.Loose rice is then removed from the packets and used to make new rice packets.
Need suggestions/help in mapping the last scenario in the system

  • Article to article delay. Within article delay

This issue really need be addressed you guys.
What if anything is being done to fix the lag issues between articles and
    within articles.
Uploading Jpgs isn't fixing things anymore. Any suggestions???

    Hi Graham,
your first step to find articles that hugely add to the file size is to log in into acrobat.com (not digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, just acrobat.com) with the credentials corresponding to the folio in question. There you can see the size of each article/stack. You can sort them by size to find the biggest one.
Du to the way folios are build right now, stacks with a lot of MSO (multi state objects) tend to get the biggest ones, especially on Retina iPad. Every single state of every single MSO is rendered into a PNG with transparency. Fullscreen MSO states (like in zoomable pictures) easily can be 3-4 MB in size. If you have a lot of states doubled by to alignements (landscape and portrait) your whole folio gets huge quite fast.
    File size:
Try to eleiminate as many MSO states as possible.
    Maybe don't even render a 2048-Rendition.
Use PDF instead of jPEG or PNG as export mode.
Dont add Full HD Videos, stay with about 800-1024 of pixels width and keep the bitrate between about 1 and 1.5 MBit/s
All in all though, i'm not sure if the performance problems arise from the big file size of single stacks. There could be more reasons for slow rendering Stacks:
Give interactive web elements a delay of 0.125 s so they are not preloaded when a reader arrives on the stck before.
Use as little web elements per stack as possible (we encounter poor performance already with only two simple web elements per stack)
Don't use the iOS Audio/Video renderer for playing audio/video tags in web elements (use jPlayer instead e.g.)
I'm not sure if there is a bug within the newest version of the content viewer which leads to poor performance problems. This should not be the case in v20 or v21 Custom Viewer Apps.
    Good Luck!

  • Grey Screen in iPad Content Viewer when swipe through the last slides of the articles

Some of co-workers and clients reported and issue with the presentations and the viewer: some times grey screens appear when swiping in an presentation from article to article (reproducible only for the last slide of the article).
    Pre-conditions:
    1. Folio with several articles (3-4 is good).
    2. Articles should have different number of slides.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open folio on iPad and go to the last slide of each article.
    2. Swipe from article to article (better from the first one article to the last one)..
Expected outcome:  Last slide of the next article is displayed.
Actual outcome: Grey screen is displayed instead of the last article. Some times it's needed to swipe fast to reproduce the issue. Or at least on the last slide you'll see grey screen instead of the content.
Content will be displayed if you scroll up the page. Seems that new (additional) page is added after the last slide of an article and disappeared after scrolling the page.
Notes: Reproducible with the latest version of adobe viewer (i'm using v31(3.4.3.0.96281). NOT reproducible in iPad Content Viewer with version 3.2.1.3.85505.
Maybe somebody knows the root cause of this issue and how to fix it?

I can confirm that I've seen this happen but beyond that, I can't help.

  • Is there a way to automatically go to the first page of an articles when navigating through a folio

If the user scrolls to the final page of Article A and then swipes to the right to Article B, is it possible that when they swipe back to Article A it will default to the first page as opposed to the last page?
