Switch accounts on iCloud, iPad settings?

my iPad, iCloud is set to a secondary account that is rarely used except for foreign purchases only available locally. My Mail, Contacts...etc are set to my primary account - therefore the iPad primary data does not synch to iCloud.  How do I change iCloud settings on my iPad to my primary account in use on all other devices?

Yes, sign ot by deleting the account on your iPad, which will remove the data from the device - not from iCloud. When you sign back in to the correct iCloud account, your (correct) data will be pulled down from iCloud to your device.
Your purchased apps have nothing to do with iCloud. Nothing will happen to them. There is no problem using one AppleID for iCloud and another for iTunes Store / App Store purchases.

I need to remove one purchased app from my iCloud and ipad. Needs  solution
    immediately.

You cannot delete past purchases from your iTunes account. You should delete it from your iPad and then use Restrictions to stop kids from downloading without the pass code. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4213

  • Handoff switch not showing on iPad settings?

I Have just updated my 3rd generation iPad to iOS 8.0, and the first thing I looked for was the handoff feature, but the switch is not showing. I turned it on on my iPhone 5s running iOS 8. I thought it'd work after turning Bluetooth on, but nothing changed.

Handoff is not available on the third generation iPad. It works on the iPad 4 and up.

  • Switching icloud accounts on an ipad

Hi, Im wanting to switch an icloud account on an ipad, the ipad belonged to my mother but now im using it. What I want to do is make a new icloud account for this ipad (and an email) and add my Apple ID, to do this would I need to go into the icloud section and delete her account? From what ive read online this seems to be the answer, but is there anything else I need to do such as switch off any other settings? It wont effect her icloud account/Apple ID account on her new ipad will it?

If you have any photo stream photos on your iPad that you want to save, save them to your camera roll first (open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).  Then to to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data to the new account.
This won't effect your mother's account or devices in any way.

If you also want seperate Contacts and some other things:
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
    Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

  • My iPod touch is not connecting to iCloud account, under iCloud settings has old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this?

My iPod touch is not connecting to my iCloud account, under iCloud settings it  has my old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this on the iPod or otherwise? This old account info keeps coming back on my iPod and messing up access to my apple account and now the icloud. last time a system restore needed to be done to fix it....

It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck

  • HT4759 I now have my daughters iPad can you please tell me why I can't set up iCloud.in settings the iCloud is greyed out also how do I change her mail account to mine?

I now have my daughters iPad can you please tell me why I can't set up iCloud.in settings the iCloud is greyed out also how do I change her mail account to mine?

To change your iCloud ID or password you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID.  If you need to migrate any of your daughter's iCloud data to your account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge to upload it to the new account.  If not, choose Delete from My iPad.

  • Ipad is locked- unable to turn off/on - Message "iCloud Backup unable to access  account" unable to access settings. Totally locked up.  Please help

I am unable to turn off/on - Message "iCloud Backup unable to access  account" unable to access settings. Totally locked up.  Please help

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • I have the wrong icloud account on my ipad.  If I go in and hit the red delete account button in settings of icloud will it just remove it from my ipad or remove it completely since it is on other devices

I have the wrong icloud account on my ipad.  If I go in and hit the red delete account button in settings of icloud will it just remove it from my ipad or remove it completely since it is on other devices

It only deletes if from this device, not from iCloud.  Other devices still using the account will not be effected by this.

  • Is it possible to switch iCloud accounts on my ipad without losing everything?

My boyfriend and I purchased an iPhone and an ipad about 6 months ago.  Since we share them both we would like to be able to sync them.  The problem is when we set them up we set one up with my email, and one with his email.  So we can't sync them now.   If I hit "delete account"on the ipad and reset it up with the corresponding email for the iPhone, will it delete all the photos, apps, etc that I have on the ipad now?

I'm really not chasing you, but I was VERY curious to see the product your link was to.  Ddd you read what the product does?  It is for removing minor blemishes from Polycarbonate (Plastic) devices.  iPad however, has a metal back.  It is highly doubtful this liquid will help the OP in any way.

  • How can I manage my icloud mail account on my iPad since my apple id user is my gmail account?

    Hello,
I'm unable to send and receive mails from my icloud account since when when trying to add this mailbox to my account IOS pops a message that says the my gmail account is already added.
My apple user ID is my gmail account, could this be the problem?
How can I be able to manage my icloud account in my iPad?
    Regards,
    DM

Let's try deleting the iCloud account from your iPad, then adding it back.
If you have any photo stream photos on your iPad, save them to your camera roll by opening your My Photo Stream alburm, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  The force close the Mail app by double-tapping the home button, locating Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold Mail until it wiggles, tap to close it, then tap the home button agian.
Then to delete the iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted.  This only deletes the account and your iPad data from your iPad, not from iCloud.  Then go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in and turn on your sync settings, confirming that Mail is set to On.  Your iCloud data will reappear on your iPad after a brief delay as it redownloads.  Open Mail and see if your iCloud account is there now.

  • How do I change an iCloud account on an iPad?

My iPhone and iPad use 2 distinct iCloud accounts, as a by product of the mobile me exit. Now I want to sync these 2 devices, so they need to use the same iCloud account. When I start to change the iPad account, I receive a dire warning that all data in iCloud and the iPad will be lost if I proceed.
Is the warning untrue, or am I misreading it, or am i going about this incorrectly? How should one change the iCloud account on an iPad to another existing iCloud account? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

It does delete it from you iPad but not from the iCloud account.  If you want to migrate the data to a different iCloud account first go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn all synced data to Off, when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPad.  When everything is turned off you can scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up the other iCloud account on your iPad and turn syncing back on for contacts, calendars, etc. When prompted choose merge to upload the data and merge it with any data on this account.

  • HT4623 How can I change my Icloud account on my ipad to the one I use on my iphone?

How can I change my Icloud account on my ipad to the one I use on my iphone?
For example on my iphone I log in with a yahoo account.  My ipod was originally set up with another e-mail account (which I can't remember the password).  I want to use the yahoo e-mail and the password associated with it to log on to both devices.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • How do i delete my iCloud account from my iPad with an updated Apple ID?

How do i delete my iCloud account from my iPad with an updated Apple ID?
It requires i log into FindMyiPad to delete the iCloud account however the Apple ID has changed therefore the username/password no longer exists.
This is just sending me in circles to log into to a non-existant apple id with no password to delete my iCloud so i can log in with my updated apple ID.

Settings/iTunes and App Store log out then log in with new ID.  you might want to change ID in iMessage, FaceTime and Siri and delete the cloud account and create one with new ID.  remember apps are forever linked to the ID used to download them and can only be updated with that ID
