SWITCH - Belgium

hello a belgain premium reseller Switch sold me a thunderbold display but it doesn't work with my MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2009) , can you explain me how I need to connect my display ?

Is this a Belgium Premium reseller ? SWITCH is the name.
I asked him in the shop if it was compatible, he said it was possible without asking me the question about my Macbook Pro ( mid 2009 ) version.
This is really not so client friendly.
Could there be a solution ?

  • Moving to Belgium - and making the switch?

    hello,
I'm in the market for a new laptop; have been a pc person for a while but am pretty much sold on switching to mac. I'd go ahead and buy a macbook, except for one thing - I'm moving to Belgium in a few months, and I've been warned that it might be difficult there to get service & support, and that there might be the odd compatibility problem since fewer people use macs over there. Can anyone weigh in on this issue?
    thank you!
    Lucy

Welcome to Belgium. Indeed, about 95% of the population has never heard of Apple or Macs. There are quite a lot of Mac dealers around (but I wouldn't say plenty, you might have to search around - then again, Belgium is only the size of a stamp compared to the US). The reason why there are so many PC users and so little Mac users is partly Apple's fault : you won't find any advertising anywhere : not in newspapers, not in magazines, and certainly not on radio or TV. But you won't have any problem finding support for your Mac : most dealers (although there are a few exceptions, check out some local discussion forums if you can, people will gladly help you in English) are really passionate about macs. In any case, welcome to Belgium, enjoy the food and the beer !

  • Belgium Network 3G and Normal network mobile No Switch automatically ??

    Hello
I have bought an Iphone 3G today in belgium in a mobistar center but i'm using it with a proximus sim (our phone is not simlocked here)
After some minuts of using, i have seen when the 3G is active, the phone is only connected to 3G network and not to the both (standard network and 3G), so when the 3g network is not good, i have no reception, impossible to call, If i switch off the 3G, the reception of the standard 2G network (900/1800mhz) is full and perfect.
I was looking on some website if other people have this problem and i found some others. On proximus or Mobistar, the same problem
So, do you have a plan to have an uptaded to solve the problem ? For exemple that the iphone 3G always has the maximum reception, if the 3g network is not good when the phone is, The iphone automatically switch on the standard network to have a minimum of reception to be in the best condition.
    Thank you very much
    Best regards

When the iphone goes into sleep mode, wifi is turned off. Upon wake, wifi turns back on.
    Your phone is acting properly.

  • Switch from Apple Store Country A to Apple Store Country B

    Hi everyone
I live in BELGIUM and work in GERMANY, but I have just one AppleId, to be able to share everything I bought on my devices.
In BELGIUM I have a credit card
In GERMANY i have no credit card.
Some weeks ago I got as a gift a iTunes Prepaid Card of 15€. I entered the code when I was connevcted to the BELGIAN stroe and was able to use it. Today there is a credit of 3ct. left.
Today I wanted to switch my account to my GERMAN adress in order to buy a free of charge application. This gets refused with the message:
    >> You have a store credit Balance, you must spent your balance before you can change stores. <<
So I'm currently blocked to the BELGIAN store. What can I do ?  There is nothing to spent 3ct. on.
I would be happy for any advice.
    Michael

You'll need Apple to cash out your account.  Contact Apple.

  • How do I switch from US store to Belgian store

I try to install apps and update apps but the message "your account is not valid for use in the US. You must switch toi the Belgian store before purchasing".
I have no idea what I have to do

Are you in Belgium or the US?  You have to have a credit card and billing/delivery address in the same country as the store you are trying to use.

  • HT204266 How do I switch to the US store in App Store on iPad?

I am constantly getting a message while in the apps store that states:
    Account Not In This Store
Your account is not valid for use in the BE store.
You must switch to the U.S. store before purchasing.
This is happening on a bunch of apps I am trying to update.

My account has been a US account for the last four years since I moved to Belgium. It has been working fine in Belgium up until the 22nd of January, 2013. On January 22nd, the apps store no longer takes me to the US store and I can not find a way to switch it from the BE store where it has somehow ended up to the US store. I didn't even know that Belgian accounts where different and now I am going to be locked out of the apps (12 and growing) I purchased until I create a new BE account? Do I then I have to buy my apps new?

  • Cannot switch to other iTunes stores

I have a new notebook that defaults to the U.S. site when I go into the iTunes store. I try to switch to my local store (Canada) by clicking the country icon at the bottom of iTunes. However, the store always just flips back to the US regardless of the country selected.
My account is a Canadian account as it won't let me purchse from the US store. Is there anything else I'm missing that is keeping me from switching countries in the iTunes store?
    Thanks

No it's not. You can only purchase from a store in a country where you have a credit card issued. So, you have an American issued card, you may only buy in the American Store. To buy in the Belgian Store you'll need a card issued in Belgium.
Why? Because the licence owners - aka the record companies - like to divide the world into different territories and charge different prices there.

  • Apple tv uk does it work in belgium

Hi anyone know if I take my uk bought apple tv to belgium will it work OK I know the content in the UK is region specific but I would like to recieve UK content as well as Belgium content?

    Hi,
I admit that I am still in the thinking phase of getting rid of my Toshiba Notebook (4 years old) and therefor making the switch from PCs to Macs complete.
And upt to know I haven't had any kind of problems with my Macs (knock on wood )
So I don't have any real-life figures of the costs.
From what I have read in these Forum a replacement of a MBP Logic Board costs something around 400-500 Euros (appr. 250-300 Pounds).
Diplay replacement should even cost more.
I have bought my AppleCares after 10 months of possession of the Macs, since you must get AND register AppleCare within 1 year of possession of the Mac.
So if funds are a bit low, I would propose to go that way.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Mail 5.3 under Lion 10.7.5 fetches mail from Belgacom but not from Scarlet in Belgium

Mail used to fetch mail perfectly well from all my Belgacom Skynet accounts in Belgium, and also from my Scarlet accounts.
From the moment I "up"graded to Mail 5.3, it has been unable to fetch mail from my Scarlet accounts. So I have to seperately to their Webmail in order to treat my Scarlet e-mail. Scarlet seem unable to solve the matter. It seems to be clearly an Apple problem - but WHAT problem?
What technical difference or parametric difference is there between a Belgacom Skynet account and a Scarlet account?
Can Apple, or anybody else, help? It has proved extremely embarassing as I have missed some extremely important and sensitive emails.

By the way the other thread I mentioned is "Re: Mail in OSX Lion : pop not OK " and here is a copy of happyjohn's post:

    Hey guys!
I solved this problem with POP account very simple. Though I've read a lot to find it, but here it is (at least it works fine with Gmail accounts):
Go to Accounts>Advanced and just check the port you uses for downloading mail from your POP server. For POP it should be 995 and SSL should be switched on.
After that Mail 5.0 downloaded all mail I had on my server (I use chelarbitr.com with Gmail Apps installed).
    That's all.

  • USA iMac model A1224 needs power cord for Belgium

    Hello,
I have a US iMac Model A1224 I need a power cord that will work in Belgium.  My power cord has a tag that reads: 10A 125V~ .  Will any power cord work, a friend in Amsterdam has a cable with the same interface as my iMac with the European wall mont  (2 round prongs)... Will this work or do I need to look at the voltage settings?
    Help, Please and THANK YOU.

Newer Mac models switch voltage automatically.  What does it say after the "125-"?  Probably 220 or 240V.  All you need in that case is a European plug or an adaptor for a US plug ( you can get them in the travel section of any department store or they are easily found in Europe) .

  • Does anyone know about problems with Dutch power plug not fitting Belgium sockets?

I have bought my Mac Air in a Dutch online Apple Store to get a querty key board (i.s.o. azerty)
The power plug that came with it does not fit in my Belgium socket. The earth pin is to fat.
Is this a known problem or do I have an incompatible socket (ticino)?

In the Netherlands the CEE-7/4-Schuko-System is used for sockets
In Belgium the CEE 7/7 compatible "french" system is used for sockets
For that you only need to change the small removable plug on the magsafe.
As you can see, the plug is removabe from the magsave to plug in a different one or a extention cable.
So just went to the nearest belgian Apple Store or Apple Retail shop like SWITCH and by a new plug for your magsafe.
    Hope that helps.

Edit: If your lokation is near the german border, go to Gravis in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) They should have the parts.

  • New DVR Issues (First Run, Channel Switching, etc.)

I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to find answers through the search with no luck, so sorry if I missed something.
I recently switched to FIOS from RCN cable in New York.  I've gone through trying to setup my DVR and am running into issues and was hoping for some answers.
    1.  I setup two programs to record at 8PM, I was watching another channel at the time and only half paying attention.  Around 8:02 I noticed a message had popped up asking if I would like to switch channels to start recording.  I was expecting it to force it to switch like my old DVR, but in this case it didn't switch and I missed the first two minutes of one of the shows.  I typically leave my DVR on all day and just turn off the TV, this dual show handling will cause issues with that if I forget to turn off the DVR.  Is there a setting I can change that will force the DVR to choose one of the recording channels?
    2.  I setup all my recordings for "First Run" because I only want to see the new episodes.  One show I setup was The Daily Show on comedy central, which is shown weeknights at 11pm and repeated 3-4 times throughout the day.  My scheduled recordings is showing all these as planned recordings even though only the 11pm show is really "new".  Most of the shows I've setup are once a week so they aren't a problem, but this seems like it will quickly fill my DVR.  Any fixes?
    Thanks for the help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I came from RCN about a year ago.  Fios is different in several ways, not all of them desirable.  Here are several ways to get--and fix--unwanted recordings from a series recording setup.
    Some general principles.
Saving changes.  When you originally create a series with options, or if you go back to edit the options for an existing series, You MUST save the Series Options changes.  Pretty much everywhere else in the user interface, when you change an option, the change takes effect immediately--but not in Series Options.  Look at the Series Options window.  Look at the far right side.  There is a vertical "Save" bar, which you must navigate to and click OK on to actually save your changes.  Exiting the Series Options window without having first saved your changes loses all your attempted changes--immediately.
Default Series Options.  This is accessed  from [Menu]--DVR--Settings--Default Series Options.  This will bring up the series options that will automatically be applied to the creation of a NEW series. The options for every previously created series will not be affected by a subsequent modification of the Default Series Options.  You should set these options to the way you would like them to be for the majority of series recordings that you are likely to create.  Be sure to SAVE your changes.  This is what you will get when you select "Create Series Recording" from the Guide.  When creating a new series recording where you think that you may want options different from the default, select "Create Series with Options" instead.  Series Options can always be changed for any individual series set up later--but not for all series at once.
Non-series recordings.  With Fios you have no directly available options for these.  With RCN and most other DVRs, you can change the start and end times for individual episodes, including individual episodes that are also in a series.  With Fios, your workarounds are to create a series with options for a single program, then delete the series later;  change the series options if the program is already in a series, then undo the changes you made to the series options later; or schedule recordings of the preceding and/or following shows as needed.
And now, to the unwanted repeats.
First, make sure your series options for the specific series in question--and not just the series default options--include "First Run Only".  If not, fix that and SAVE.  Then check you results by viewing the current options using the Series Manager app under the DVR menu.
Second, and most annoying, the Guide can have repeat programs on your channel tagged as "New".  It happens.  Set the series option "Air Time" to "Selected Time".  To make this work correctly, you must have set up the original series recording after selecting the program in the Guide at the exact time of a first run showing (11pm, in your case), and not on a repeat entry in the Guide.  Then, even it The Daily Show is tagged as New for repeat showings, these will be ignored.
Third, another channel may air reruns of the program in your series recording, and the first showing of a rerun episode on the other channel may be tagged as "New".  These can be ignored in your series if you set the series option "Channel" to "Selected Channel".  Related to this, if there is both an SD and HD channel broadcasting you series program, you will record them both if the series option "Duplicates" is set to "Yes".  However, when the Channel option is set to "Selected Channel", the Duplicates Option is always effectively "No", regardless of what shows up on the options screen.
As for you missing two minutes,  I have sereral instances in which two programs start recording at the same time.  To the best of my recollection, whenever the warning message has appeared, ignoring it has not caused a loss of recording time.  You might have an older software version.  Newest is v.1.8.  Look at Menu--Settings--System Info.  Or, I might not have noticed the loss of minutes.  I regularly see up to a minute of previous programming at the start of a recording, or a few missing seconds at the beginning or end of a recording.  There are a lot of possibilities for that, but the DVR clock being incorrect is not one of them.  With RCN, the DVR clocks occasionally drifted off by as much as a minute and a half.

  • Remote deployment switches for Jabber 9.2.2

Are there any installation switches for remote install via the MSI/DMG?
I will be pushing this backage via Dell KACE K1000 appliance and would like to configure default options for the users during the install/upgrade such as Disabling (or 'unchecked' following initial sign-on) the Docked Window, configuring Phone Accounts, WebEx Meeting and application Integration settings.

application integrations setting mostly get pushed out through  the profiles on CUPS that get pushed out as soon as the user logs in.
I can't help you out with all the switches you asked for but, you can starting using:
    msiexec.exe /i "\\lsrftufs1\ict\Networks\Voice\Jabber\Jabber 9.2.2\CiscoJabberSetup.msi" TYPE=CUP DOMAIN=somedomain.com.au LANGUAGE=1033
This will at least use auto discovery of the presence server if you use an SRV record  _cup._login.somedomain.com.au
so at least your useers wont have to type in a presence server name or IP.
