Switch from CS5 Mac to PC

Someone I know would like to attempt a switch to PC, but is currently running CS5. Does Adobe offer a way to transfer a license from mac to pc? Even cancel it so it doesn't work on the mac so that it would work on the mac for good measure and simply allow her to install a windows version?

Adobe does offer platform swaps (Windows to Mac and vice versa) but only for current versions

Your friend will have to purchase a crossgrade from CS5 Mac to CS6 Windows.
Or join the Adobe Creative Cloud.

How is Windows installed? If you installed Windows using Bootcamp Assistant then when your computer is powering up press and hold the option key. When the boot manager appears, select either OSx or Windows to boot.

Upgrading from CS5 mac to CS6 pc

I will upgrade from CS5 for mac to CS6 for PC. Will i be able to open the old project files on the PCwith CS6?

When you open a project made on one computer on a different computer it may report that the media is off-line. You then need to find the media in the dialogue box(es) which appear to re-link the files. Premiere will probably have to spend some time re-conforming the audio first. The only time this does not occur is when Premiere's preferences are identical on each computer and the media is located on the same drive path, E.G. E:\Projects\project1
If any media files use Mac specific codecs then you may have issues IE Pro-Res files.
This will not be the case as you are changing between Mac and windows and paths to folders etc cant be the same. But it will work.

Green/Glitched Screen when switched from CS5.5 to Adobe CC.

I recently upgraded from CS5.5 to Adobe CC, and I converted a Premiere Pro project to open in CC. ALL of the video was green or glitched looking. The source videos are .mp4, with 17 videos that I'm pulling from to make this project. They have also changed from 59.94 fps to 0.00 fps or 0.01 fps. It shows up in Quicktime fine, and played in CS5.5 fine. I can only hear the audio, but all the video has turned green.
I am using:
Mac 0S 10.9.4
Adobe CC Premiere 8.0.1 (21) Build

Hello I just wanted to update and look for help again. For my previous project I just went back to CS5.5 and continued working from there since I was unable to solve my problem. I was able to start a new project after that without problems, but now, I have started another project from scratch, and it is showing up with the green screen after importing, again. The videos should be at 59.94 fps, but are showing up at anywhere from 0.00 - 0.06 fps, 0.37 fps, and 0.61 fps. I can still hear the audio, but am only getting a blank green image instead of video. Please note I started this project directly in Adobe Premiere CC this time as opposed to starting in CS5.5, and am still running into this issue. Could anyone please tell me why this is occurring and help me out?

Switching from Dot Mac to Mobile Me

I know doc mac users will upgrade to mobile me for free. However, I noticed in the previews for MobileMe that email addresses end in @me.com ... Will doc mac users have the option to switch to the @me.com email address or will we be forced to keep the @mac.com email address? If we can switch to the @me.com email address can we change our email handle/ID. Reason I ask is that I would like to change my email address and pick something new... I haven't been able to do so being a doc mac user (unless I stop subscribing and sign up again).

I got an email today from Apple about .mac/me.com that said you will have the option. You can continue to use your mac.com email address, but you will also be assigned a matching me.com address to use if you choose.

Access denied error message when switching from one Mac to another Mac

I use LR on a laptop and a desktop, both Macs running Yosemite. I use the same external drive to store my LR photo catalogs and move it back and forth between computers. If I import pictures on one computer I get a "file access denied" when in the Develop mode on the other computer. In other words, I can only use the Develop mode on the computer where the original download from my camera occurred. I cannot find a solution and would appreciate any help. I am running the latest versions of LR and OS X. Thanks.

Trouble switching from Mac to windows in boot camp

Ever since my imac updated early last week I am having trouble switching from the mac side back to windows. Switching fromt windows to mac is fine. I do most of my work on the mac side graphics design but for my job some of the software we use only runs on windows and this is the side i have to use to clock in and out and do someother work on.
I am using the option button as I have for the past 3 months and it worked just fine but since this update i am having to try 4-5 times before I am successful. I can do it by shutting down the computer, pushing the option button then turning back on and that seems to work, well it did Friday at least, today its not working again, i am having to try 4-5 times yet again by shutting down the computer then turning back on and i really dont like doing that 4-5 times in a row just to switch back to windows to do one quick thing then switch back.
any suggestions?

To see if it resolves the problem, from Mac OS try setting your chosen boot disk in Preferences -> Startup Disk. You can do the same to go back to Mac OS from Windows in the Startup Disk control panel.

If you install a Windows emulator you could use the Windows version on the Mac. Otherwise you would have to buy a Mac version along with a Mac license thru some third party vendor because Adobe does not sell their older products. CS5 does not qualify for a platform swap since that is only supported for the most recent version of the CS series (now CS6).
You could upgrade CS5 to CS6 which Adobe does still sell.

Switching from PC to Mac - need urgent help!

This question has been asked before, more or less, but I'm going to ask it again, because my version is more - me specific.
Upgrading from PC (windows) to Mac (...). I have CS5.0 (photoshop, illustrator, indesign, acrobat, bridge) Student and Teacher edition for windows.
As far as I can tell, it is not possible to simply switch my PC license to a Mac license - even when I DON'T want to be using CS5 on both the PC and Mac. Meaning, I ONLY will be using CS5 on the Mac.
Is this correct?
Presuming the above statement is correct, how much is an upgrade from CS5 Windows to CS.5 Mac? How much of a hassle is it?
And, how different is CS5.5 from CS5.0, as in, features and "looks" wise? Is it fully compatable with the intuos4? And will PhotoshopCafe tutorials for CS5 still be relevant?
One last question. Is running Photoshop through Parallels 7 a pliable option? From the research I've done, it doesn't sound like it (ie. lag and no full access to full RAM power), but I would appreciate verification from personal experience.

Then really for me upgrading would be a waste of money. I really only use PS and AI, and Bridge obviously. And from what I read about what they upgraded, it would be a waste for me. I'm not commercial yet! lol
Thank you very much for your help. I think now I will continue looking deeper into running CS5 via Parallels. My only concern is that it apparently runs slower (which makes sense). However I read somewhere that setting up the VM on a seperate partition on the HDD helps? Or even running Bootcamp through the VM.
Do you know anything about this? I've set up seperate drive partitions on Windows before, so that is not a concern to me.

I am going to be purchasing a new computer in March. I am seriously considering switching to a mac. I've owned a mac before and I obviously have my reasons for wanting to go back...however...I've always been a pc and all of my software is pc based...and a lot of them I no longer have the install discs for. I'm a designer and my main concern is losing the ability to use my software, such as Adobe CS4 because I dont' know if it will be compatible with the mac. My question is, is there a way to transfer my software from my pc to a mac without any external hard drives and without having to buy all new software for the new mac? This is going to be the deciding factor on whether or not I go with a mac instead of a new pc. I really could use some input on this. Thanks so much.

If you've bought your Mac, be sure to exchange your Windows CS4 license before CS5 comes out. Adobe will only do a cross-platform swap on the current version (which I found out the hard way!)

I have heard of a lot of folks having trouble getting a cross-platform swap. Also, don't believe anything an Adobe customer support rep tells you. They are either "misinformed" or they flat-out lie.

New here, I appreciate any help!! I have just switched from a windows machine to Mac. On the windows machine I had an education version of CS4 Design Premium. Now I need it to work with Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3. I downloaded the mac version of the software, but the installer would not take my old windows serial number. What can I do??

You upgrade to CS5.5 and make the platform switch. If you're still eligible for education pricing, you just buy anew. Until then you can always run your Windows version via Bootcamp or Parallels.

I am debating the switch from PC to Mac, but I currently use CS5 and Lightroom 5. Is it possible to do a Platform Swap? I would HATE to have to purchase CS6 (and Lightroom, if applicable) on top of a $2500 upgrade on a computer.. Help, please!

Yes, you will need to cross upgrade to CS6 Mac for $200, but the Lightroom license is also for the Mac and you can activate using your present serial number.
