Switch KM repository from FSDB to DB

I want to know if anybody has tried to switch a FSDB repository to DB.
SAP documentation says that this is not possible in "Subsequent Change to the Persistence Mode", but what I want to do is export all content of my FSDB repository, create a new one of type DB, and then import all content on it.
Has anybody been success with this before?

Hi ESteve,
What your really describing is not changing the persistence layer of an existing repository. You want to delete the existing repository and create a new one. The new one would have a different persistence layer. This should work. You will have to restart the portal between the delete step and the create step, unless you use a different name.

We've lost our 3.1 VM servers and manager. I've recreated a brand new set of servers and 1 manager and we are now running 3.2.
1- How can I restore the repository (I see the LUNS) to the new server set ? Should I recreate one ? Will it detect it's already containing a repository made of OCFS ?
2- What kind of issue should I expect on the VM side ? Will the repository be named the same internally and my files referenced correctly ? Can I rediscover the disk and change the configuration from the Manager ?
Another way to look at this scenario (even though it has not been the case), is I've switch my repository to a remote site. I have a brand new set of servers/manager. How do I recover my repository without copying GB of VMs?

1) You are absolutely right: I had to rebuild an OVM Manager with the same UUID from the original one. I've got the UUID from .ovsrepos file located in the repository. Other than that impossible to recover it! -Thank you very much for the hint...
2) I've also faced an issue due to the fact the pool UUID is different from the rebuilt one. I had to apply note "Rediscover an Existing Repository in Oracle VM 3.1.1 [ID 1469703.1]" to change the pool ID from the FS and remount the FS
IMPORTANT: Refresh the "Shared Filesystem" in the console AFTER you change the pool ID. If some inconsistent entries get registered in the OVS Repository, you'll get OVMRU_002037E errors. This is very annoying because this is the case even after you've fixed everything on the pool. The error actually comes from the repository check and doesn't seems to be able to recover by itself even if you refresh the Shared Filesystem.
3) To ease and speed up things, I would suggest to backup the manager once re-installed. This should be faster to recover it.
4) For some reasons, I could only recover the disks and not the VMs ! (No big deal since that was my primary concern). VMs appear in the Repository but not in the pool once the repository is published to the pool. The best solution I've found is to delete the VM directories first and recreate the VM manually from the screens once the directory restored.

Document repository in fsdb/dbfs mode

Hi,
Has anyone implemented the document repository in fsdb / dbfs mode? I am looking at possiility of storing documents in different server from where KM is installed. TREX needs to be able to search the documents as well.
Please advise how the configuration would differ in this scenario.
Points definitely will be awarded to answers that guide me in the right direction.

Here is the weblog we followed for implementing FSDB in our system (EP6.0 SP2):
Creating a CM Repository Manager - FSDB
We were also able to migrate existing documents from DB persistence mode to FSDB. The trick is to first download all the files via WebDAV to your storage folder, then point your FSDB repository to this folder. This way your existing properties won't get deleted during the transition. I still advise to do a full KM backup before this operation, unless you're starting from scratch.

If you would like to move your source models, target models and project contents from Work repository 1 to another work repository.
I.e. Dev. server to Prod Server.
1. Firstly, replicate the master repository connections i.e. with same naming conventions manually
2. Go to Dev. Server work repository -> File Tab -> Click on Export work repository (save it in a folder)
3. After exporting, you can view the xml files in the folders.
4. Now, Open the Prod. server and make sure you already replicated mas. rep. details.
5. Now, right click on model and import source model in synonym mode insert_update (select source model from the folder where your xml file located)
6. Similarily, import again target then Project.
Now, check. It should work.

Unable to switch screen mode from standard: PS CS5

Full screen with or without menus is grayed out in the view menu and the view dropdown selector from the menu bar. I have quit and re-entered PS and have reset all workspaces to default. I have checked that I'm working in 64 bit. I still cannot switch screen mode from standard. Last update was to 12.04. Last extension installed was photokit sharpener.

I have problem with Nokia PC Suite.

After i switch off cable from my USB port servicelayer.exe take me 100 % of PC process. I must CTRL+ALT+DEL and shutdown this process.
I try all. Close Nokia PC Suite, install new driver for cable, off my Nokia.

It's a bug in PC suite 6.84.
Hopefully it will be fixed in 6.85 when it is released.
6.83 works fine and is far more stable and reliable than 6.84.

There is, but not for CS5 any more.
Adobe has a platform transfer procedure (for perpetual license products) whereby you can terminate your Windows license and swap to a Mac license but it's only applicable to current versions of the software (CS6)

Dynamically switch printer tray from concurrent program in Oracle Apps 11i

We have a requirement to dynamically switch printer tray from concurrent program .
In the application we had a printer "*Printer1*" defined ,the printer (physical) printer have two trays and it always pick paper from Lower tray
To test the functionality I created one more defination " *Printer2*" in the application .
For this second printer created one more PPd files Printer2PPD2 . In this Printer2PPD2 the value of DefaultInputSlot i gave as Upper,so that printer will pick paper from upper tray
As we are having the PASTA configuration hence in the "uiprint.txt" entered the definations for Printer2 and also mentioned the PPD file.
So in the concurrent program i selected Printer2 and executed the program.But instead of picking from upper tray it picked from lower tray.
I could know this because in upper tray I had counted the number of papers so if the paper would have been picked ,the count would have reduced by 1.
Please let me know the solution for this issue.

Best way to upgrade the local repository from 11.7.3 to 12.2.3.3 DS 3

Hi, we are going to upgrade our DI 11.7.3 to DS3 - 12.2.3.3 in Sep. I found out there are different ways to upgrade the local repository from the SAP doc and tech support. I try to find a best and safe way to do it. If anyone had experince and inputs on this. It would be great appreciated. It seems there are these options:
we all agree that need to back up the repostiry db, and export the repository to atl file.
Option 1:
Upgrade the repository during the Data Services installation. But the tech support said there are times where this does not work as expected and Option 2 below needs to be implemented.
Option 2:
a) Export the local repository, via 11.7.3 Designer, to an ATL file.
b) Uninstall 11.7.3.
c) Create a new database in SQL Server to use with 12.2.3.3. (Optionally, use the existing 11.7.3 database. If you do, make a backup of it before making any changes).
d) Install Data Services 12.2.3.3 and reference the database created in step "c" above during installation (select the Create option).
e) Log in to the new local repo, via 12.2.3.3 Designer, and import the ATL that was exported in step "a" above.
Option 3:
a. Create a new database u2013 20 MB space
b.Create a new repo in 11.7.3 point to ds_local via Repository Manager (click create)
c.Log in 11.7 designer and Repository import from out.atl
d.Install 12.2.3.3 without upgrde the repostory
e.use epository manager in 12.2.3 to upgrade the new repository

Hi.
If you import the 11.7 atl into a 12.2 Designer you will face a warning message like this:
"The version 11.7 of the ATL file <c:\export.atl> is lower than the repository version <12.2>.
To update an ATL file, import it into a repository of the same version then ugrade that repository"
So, the correct method to upgrade the Data Integrator 11.7 repository to Data Services 12.2.x is the following:
- Export the complete Data Integrator 11.7 repository to ATL.
- Create a NEW Data Integrator 11.7 Local Repository.
- Import the ATL created in step 1 to the NEW Data Integrator 11.7 Repository. At this point you have two identical local repositories.
- From the Data Services 12.2.x system, open Repository Manager.
- Enter the Database connection information to the NEW repository created in step 2.
- Select UPGRADE, to upgrade this repository to support Data Services 12.2.x.
- Log into Data Services Designer to start using this Local Repository.
