Switch to existed application instead of open a new one on Cinnamon

Hi all,
I am currently using Cinnamon as my desktop environment in Arch.
Before that I used Unity on Ubuntu. Unity is an awesome thing. One feature I liked most is that when you press "Super+1,2...", you can switch the corresponding application on the launcher very quickly(Just like you are using shortcuts on the Windows launcher). Unless the application is not started, the shortcut will start a new one.
On Cinnamon, I bind some keys (like Super + 1,2...) in system settings (Cinnamon System Settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Custom Shortcuts) to start my applications. But I can't get the effect as I described above. When I just want to switch an existed one, the keys will still launch a new one.(Of course, obviously according to my setting).
So my question is: Can I bind some keys to "Open or Switch to existed application" like it on Unity or Windows?

I would suggest that in addition to printing the stack trace of any Exception, you could append the Exception.toString() to a Form (or display it in an Alert) to see whether any exceptions are being thrown.

File downloads as an application instead of opening properly

I have been experiencing a few problems with my macbook pro 2006
The files download as applications instead of opening properly most of the time, these files are for school, such as word documents and powerpoint presentations, I usually download them from a website or e-mail, it always says it is an application and does not let me open it on the mac, so I go find a PC, but now something screwed up with the PC too, so I can't get any of my school assignments.
My mac also will not allow me to put video from a sony hard drive camcorder, which is a pain because I have editing to do and PC programs are not as good as final cut pro.

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.
Just go to the site linked above, then click on the big blue button and fill out the neccessary information.

I had the same problem, but with Firefox 4.0. My first thought was to update Firefox (after of course restarting FF), but that didn't help it and I had the same problem.
Among others, I had an extension installed and enabled called Tile Tabs 4.10 that I thought could feasibly creating this problem. So I went into my add-ons manager and disabled it, restarted Firefox and the tabs worked properly again. Unfortunately, the Tile Tabs extension is my favorite Firefox add-on and I use it almost every day for managing my web work tasks. I went to the add-on page for Tile Tabs and saw that there was a notice that version 4.10 didn't work properly on Mac OS, and to install version 4.9 of the extension. I saw they had a new, not-yet-reviewed version 4.11 that addressed the Mac OS problem, installed it, and everything seems to be working properly.
I have no idea why all of a sudden I had this problem, as I hadn't updated Firefox or the Tile Tabs extension recently. Also, obviously this might not address your problem, especially if you don't have that add-on installed and enabled. But our problem started at the same time for both of us it appears based on your post time, so its probably not coincidence.
But its worth a look, and you might want to check out other extensions if you don't have Tile Tabs that could be causing the problem.

You will probably note tabs can be dragged along the tab toolbar, they also tear off. You can click a tab and drag it off the browser onto the Windows Desktop where it will open as a new window, or drag it on to another open browser window.
An alternative is to click the tab and drag it down, again it will then open in a new Window.

While it isn't as easy to just use a Mac iDevice as media storage as Android and Windows, you can add documents and such like Word, PDF and others manually in iTunes to have them sync as well.

Since you can't delete Apple IDs and having multiple Apple IDs can cause confusion, what you may want to do is rename your existing Apple ID to the new email (desired Apple ID). That would in effect do what you want, get rid of the old and give you the new.

When signing up for iCloud I'm asked to choose an email address [email protected] I am already using an @me address via moblileme. When i input that address it states that that address is already taken. Try picking a new one. I don't want a new one I want to use my mobileme address. How can that be done?

It appears you set up a new iCloud account rather than migrating your MobileMe account over to iCloud. I migrated everything over this morning and am still using my old MobileMe email address.
Check to see if you can migrate rather than open a new account.

Only if a backup of the iPhone with all that data on it exists. If one does, restore the iPhone using that backup.

Why do my windows automatically minimize when I open a new one?

I have had my Macbook Pro for over a year now, and in the beginning, I was all about finding cool applications to customize my Mac. During that time, I must have downloaded something that makes my application windows automatically minimize or disappear whenever I open a new one. Well now, I want it gone because it gets really annoying when I can't have more than one application up at a time. I created a new account and was able to open more than one application at a time, so it must be something installed on my account only. If you have any clue what sort of application/script/something else could be causing this, please help me!

So I figured out that it was an application called TransparentDock, but I still can't seem to get rid of it. I reinstalled it on my harddrive and tried to refresh all the settings to default, but it won't let me because it says that the "dock application file" isn't it the right location (apparently it only worked with Tiger and not with Leopard). But I can't find any trace of anything with the name "Transparentdock" on my harddrive, so I don't know how it is still on my computer even though I am running Leopard and it doesn't work with Leopard. I'm starting to get really frustrated with this stupid program, and I feel like contacting the people who made it and telling them to fix my computer! If anyone has any ideas on how to stop this, please help!

I've never seen an error discribing "maxed out". Please type in the exact error message you are seeing so I can maybe assist you further.

That isn't possible, you cannot delete an iCloud account, you can only stop using it.
