Switched computers - Lost apps

I started syncing my iPhone 3GS with a different computer, which doesn't have any apps on it. Is there any way to transfer the apps from the iPhone to the computer? When I tell the computer to sync the apps with the phone, it tells me everyone on the phone will be replaced with what is one the computer... but there is nothing on the computer. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

  • Switched computers, lost my games.

Hello. I recently switched computers, and I copied the iTunes Library and iPod games data files into the system file for iTunes. I also placed a game I'd bought "peggle" into the iPod Games folder. When I loaded iTunes, all my songs and videos were in their respective libraries. So was Peggle in Applications. I synced my iPod as usual, and when I went into the games folder, alas, no peggle. I tried removing it from the library and putting it back in, then re-syncing.iTunes THINKS it's in the library, but on my iPod, it isn't. I've set it to sync all games, and I also tried manually selecting it to be put on my iPod. No luck. I'm not sure where to go from here, as I don't want to use up the license by installing, uninstalling. I also don't want to re-buy it. I have a 6G iPod Classic, and would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I just needed to authorize my account on this computer.

  • Switched Computers lost tunes

I just switched to a new computer and lost all my tunes. I still have them on my other one..so..do I need to upload all of them again? How can I transfer songs in library from old computer to new computer? Thnx

    There are a few ways.
You can network the two computers and transfer that way.
Also, read this article to learn how to use the iPod to do it: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer

  • Switched computers, lost all songs.

Hi. I just bought a new computer, switched over my iPod and iTunes information to it from the old one, gave away my old computer, and unfortunately, when I put my iPod on the connection to charge, it popped up with iTunes and it asked me a question about "This library exists on another computer. Would you like to replace this library with the old one?" so I said "Yes." and now all my songs are gone. My purchased songs, my CD songs, etc. They're not on my iPod, and I have no idea how to get it back. Can anyone help me, or am I just stuck up s* creek without a paddle?

    Eww...
Ok i think i can help u but ull have to check some things out yourself. I hope u havent loaded any new things on ur iPod yet cuz since it is a "hard drive" the data isnt lost its just masked as empty so it can be over written.
Check ur local electronics retailer for software called "iTransfer" (i think thats what its called) its in a white box and its about $20 at BestBuy which is where i saw it. Its supposed to have the ability to restore lost songs, but just check it out for urself and make sure and dont load anything on it until u look into the software.
Hope i was of some help, and reply if u try it so that ill know for future referrence.

  • I switched computers and have lost my previously downloaded and paid for music how do i get it back?

I switched computers and have lost my previously downloaded and paid for music how do i get it back?

What do you mean it's lost?  Did you actually put it on the new computer?
Simply installing iTunes and logging into your account does not cause content to magically appear.

  • Why do some iOS 7 apps lose their state when I switch to another app and then switch back?

When I switch from an app like Safari, the New York Times, Facebook, or Google+ Hangouts to some other app and then switch back, the first app takes me to its initial page, not to my place in the document I was reading. The Kindle app, on the other hand, seems to access the network but still manages to restore the page I was reading before the switch. I don't think my apps lost their place in earlier versions of iOS. Have other people noticed this? Is there something different in how iOS 7 switches context that requires apps to save their state differently than before? This problem is an annoying time-waster!

Thanks for explaining how app's loss of state can happen. However, I'm sure that the behavior of the four apps I mentioned is much worse than just a few months ago. Something must have changed, and iOS 7 is the main difference. The Kindle app behaves as it used to, but the others do not. Maybe I should note the problem in reviews of the apps themselves in the App Store -- and down rate the apps.

The absolute best way to do this is to transfer your iTunes library from the old computer to the new one. You can find a numbr of ways to do that here.

If you want to spend the money for a computer application that will let you transfer all of the content from the iPad to iTunes - look at
    Touchcopy
However, I have posted this many times over the past few months. If you follow these instructions you should be fine. This will transfer the purchased content from the iPad into iTunes on the Mac. You will still want to get your photo library and any CD's that you imported into iTunes on the new Mac. That is why transferring the iTunes library to the new Mac is the best way to go.
When you set up the new Mac - if you can import or migrate all of the PC content onto the Mac - this will all be a non issue, but I'm not sure how to bring all of your PC content onto the Mac. Going from an old Mac to a new Mac was a breeze, but I know nothing about transferring the content from a Windows PC.
The 3 basic things to remember - authorize the computer, (Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Store>Authorize this Computer) transfer purchased content and backup.
The following was copied from this thread. This is essentially what you want to accomplish.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11527071#11527071
    1) Without connecting your iPad to your Mac, start iTunes. Click on iTunes. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) Now connect your iPad to your Mac and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
    5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on iTunes / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.
Read this thread and the support links as well. There are apps that you can purchase that will allow you to transfer photos from the iPad to your PC. Look at Photo Transfer App in the App store and you can search for others as well.

This support site will help you with transferring iTunes music to your new computer - if you have an iTunes library of music on another computer or hard drive.

The worst case scenario is that you can download all of your apps again if needed - but you will not retain the data or app settings - but it is always an option if everything else fails - but it won't fail!

  • Hi, I activated my CS6 in 2012 under my student licence and still using it. I've heard that you can't run CS6 on multiple computers. How do I transfer it from one computer to another as I am switching computers?

    Hi,
first, I'm not Adobe's "slave" as you might to accuse me. Most of the posters here are users like me.
I only can repeat that what I found in Adobe's help sites, as I wrote above. You are free to figure out the "real" truth and - the best would be - you may contact Adobe directly, here are - I'm sure you know them -  the links I would use: http://helpx.adobe.com/support.html  and http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html.

  • I had my Itunes account disabled due to fraud, if i create a new itunes account how can i switch purchases and apps to the new ID?

i had my Itunes account disabled due to fraud, if i create a new itunes account how can i switch purchases and apps to the new ID?

    Hi ...
Just be cause the account was disabled (Apple ID) doesn't mean you can't reset the password and have access to your iTunes purchases.
Use the iforgot link to reset your password > Apple ID: "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" alert appears
If you have problems resetting, use the email form here >   Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us

  • Is there any way to reverse the "swipe to switch between fullscreen apps" controls?

I feel like the "swipe left to go to the app to the left" is actually counter-intuitive, especially when they were thinking about a touchscreen when designing this OS. The scrolling, though most people aren't used to it on a computer, makes sense because you move the page in the direction as if you were moving a physical page. The switching between fullscreen apps is the opposite and isn't natural for me, especially since I have been using an iPhone and iPad for a couple years now. Is there any way of reversing this control? If not, I think they should do the same thing that they did with the "natural" scrolling and have a checkbox to give you the option of either way.

I didn't see anything in the trackpad preferences as far as direction of the swipe. If anyone else can find it, I would love to be able to reverse it.

  • When I switched computers my songs now cut off and don't play out.  How can I get my songs back to play fully that I purchased from ITunes over the past years?

When I switched computers my songs now cut off and don't play out.  How can I get my songs back to play fully that I purchased from ITunes over the past years?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over the last few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

There is no need to do that, I had the same problem pal! Just do this and all should be fine!
Delete one of the app's and re-install it, then for some reason everythign is restored to as it was!
