Switched country, now purchased apps are not recognized as purchased?

I've had my U.S. account for several years but recently switched the country of that AppleID to a Canadian account. I was pre-warned about the updates only being available on the iOS device which was acceptable.
However, I've noticed that if I delete an app purchased previously on my U.S. account (say, Waze, for example), download under the same AppleID now in Canada, delete it again, and try to download it, it does not maintain the cloud-with-arrow download icon but instead prompts me again to "Get" the app as if I had never purchased it in EITHER country.
Anyone notice the same issue?

Thanks Carolyn... I tried that but they are still not showing up. I ended up going to their support page and filled out a form with a description of the problem. I hope that I get a response soon.

    If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.

  • My paid apps are not recognized

    I bought a number of Apple apps outside of the App Store, including Aperture and iWork.  As far as I can tell the versions I have are the same as the versions that had been for sale at the App Store.  When I am in the App Store, the things I bought there showed up as "installed", but things I bought from the Apple web site, or in a store, do not show up with this tag.  Shouldn't these show up as "installed"?  Or should I be looking elsewhere for the updates to these apps?

    The apps that you installed from a disc are not Mac App Store (MAS) apps and will not be recognized by the MAS. Those Apple apps installed from a disc will continue to be updated through Software Update in the Apple Menu. At the time of the next paid upgrade, you can then buy the next version from the MAS, which will then be Apple's only distribution stream.

    log in as your administrative user, and in Finder, press Command-Shift-U to open the Utilities folder. Run Terminal in there. In the Terminal window, give it the following command, pressing the Return key at the end of the line:
    sudo date -n 021321322014
    This command will ask you for a password; give it your administrative user’s password. The password will not display as you type it; this is a security measure. After you enter the command, you should be able to go into the Date & Time pane of System Preferences, select its Date & Time tab, and check the “Set date and time automatically” checkbox to get a more accurate date and time setting.

    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.

    If none of that works... call your carrier. Make CERTAIN that the BlackBerry Data Plan is STILL on the account for her device.

  • My apps are not restoring properly?

    i recently updated my ipad from iOS 5.0.1 to 5.1. there were some minor glitches at first, and over time, they turned out to become problems.
    hence, i backed up my ipad to iCloud and restored my ipad. the glitches were gone but now, my apps are not reinstalling. some are installing, while the other apps just stop installing at a certain point and start installing all over again. the app i need the most restored properly is my note taking app - Notability. i have all my notes on that and i cant afford to lose that data
    i also tried syncing all the apps back via iTunes. even then, apps just synced halfway and stopped installing.
    when i go to iCloud settings, it says its still restoring the iPad.
    am i being paranoid and impatient? is there any way i can safely get all my data back? is it possible that the ipad has not backed up properly to iCloud?
    any help is greatly appreciated

    I assume that you are familiar with your iPad's portrait orientation lock feature and you have verified your iPhone is not locked in this manner.
    In case you're not familiar, please make sure this icon does not appear on your iPad's status bar:
    If your iPad is not in portrait orientation lock, then the app developer should be prodded into updating their app to fix this defect.  Generally speaking, the App Store indicates a way to contact the developer to inform them of such defects.

    Hi Kanishk,
    Those apps are forever tied to the Apple ID they were purchased under. You can either delete them and re-purchase them, or you can go to Manage your Apple ID and reset the password on the old Apple ID so you can use it to update your apps: Apple - My Apple ID
    If you decide to continue to use them under the old ID password, I would suggest that when you reset that password, you change it to be the same password as the one you are currently using. That way when apps need to be updated you will only need to know one password and you won't have to be concerned with which Apple ID is displaying.

I am desperate. I cannot afford the expense of buying or paying access to the software and, still,  I need the tools for all those little things I do for enjoyment. What can be done?

    The licenses are operating system specific, so one option would be to retain use of the Windows machine you had before the Mac.
    If you want to try to use the older stuff on your new Mac you can try installing Windows emulation software such as Bootcamp.

  • My purchased Apps are not synching with iTunes

    I have a serious OS crash recently, and I had to reinstall the entire system from a scratch (the hard drives were formatted). Before reinstalling, I deauthorised my computer in iTunes. Then, when my new system was ready, I installed iTunes, and authorised it for my Apple ID. But now I have a synching issue - when I'm connecting my iPhone, iTunes says that this computer is not authorised for the apps that are installed in my iPhone, and asks me to authorise this computer. I click on "Authorise" button, enter my Apple ID and pass. itunes connects to the iTunes Store, and says that this computer is already authorised. But my apps are not transfered! I've tried to transfer them manually, by selecting "transfer purchased items" in the iTunes File menu. But it didn't help me. All that is transfered are my purchased books for iBook app... there is no "Apps" menu in my media libruary in the iTunes top left corner... Is there a way to fix this? I don't want to re-purchase the apps that I've already payed for!

    Thanks. I can change the forwarding settings in Gmail to be either POP or IMAP. That is quite simple. I just looked at those settings on the Gmail server and, to my surprise, both are enabled. In order for outlook client on my computer to receive IMAP emails I have to change the email account settings in my current outlook from POP to IMAP. I don't need to be using the Exchange version of Outlook to receive IMAP. I guess I'll do a little research tomorrow on Exchange so i can figure out what, if anything, it might do for me.
    I glanced at the link you sent me and it looks like it might be very helpful - another project for tomorrow.
    BTW: I hit "This Solved my Question" by accident. I meant only to "like' your response so you would get some benefit from the help you've given me so far. I hope I haven't discouraged others from taking a shot at helping me. I suspect there is more than one way to approach this and, as you know, my problem isn't really solved until I have what I need all set up and running smoothly.
