Switched from openbox to Awesome, now i get no sound! [SOLVED]

Hi all,
I have just switched from openbox to awesome and within awesome i get no sound, but if i swith back to openbox i get sound.
Within awesome i get this output whenever i run any command that requires sound!

i just did not use ck-launch, so i added it within my .xinitrc!

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Switched from DSL to cable, need help getting TC back on line.

I just switched from dsl to a cable modem to access the internet and my service provider doesn't offer support for my TC. Where can I find out how to change my settings (I guess from PPPOE to DHCP) to allow internet access from my wireless network? It seems like a matter of plugging the right numbers into the right place but I don't know where to find the numbers or where to put them exactly. Any help is appreciated.

I suggest that you first perform a "hard" reset on your Time Capsule (TC). Then, perform a complete power recycle of your network components to get them "talking" again.
Power Recycling Steps
1. If the modem has a reset switch, use it to reset the modem. Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the modem to initialize.
2. Remove power from the modem. If it has a backup battery, remove this as well. Wait 5-10 minutes. Replace the battery, and add power back to the modem.
3. Perform a complete power recycle of your network components as follows:
o Power-off the modem, TC, & computer(s); Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the TC; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the computer(s)
4. Contact your ISP to have them perform a "modem reset."

Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons. Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music. Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users - there is no notification either way that a message was not received. So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't. This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication. I also have clients I have not received texts from. My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.

Switched from lxde to e17 now Deluge won't work?

Hi all,
I've been playing with different Windows Managers and a few Desktop Managers lately.
Today I installed e17 from a fully working lxde setup and now deluge won't load.
I installed e17 as suggested in the wiki:
pacman -S e17-svn desktop-file-utils e17-extra-svn
I still haven't removed lxde, I just edited my .xinitrc.
I've tried selecting deluge from the application menu and nothing happens.
I've tried running it (as user) from the terminal and all it does is spit that python2.6 deprecation warning before going back to a blinking cursor.
I've tried running it via sudo (and gksu) and it spits out the same error as above but never progresses to the blinking cursor.
I've tried opening a root shell (via su) and get the same as above.
I've tried reinstalling deluge, no change.
I've only been playing with enlightenment for a few hours now, any ideas?

Oh, I've also replaced the default file manager with pcmanfm.
When I try to access /home/"user"/.config/deluge it freezes the whole computer and I have to restart x.
I noticed this because according to the permissions my normal (non-root) user doesn't have write privileges and that doesn't seem right.

I can't help you with your main problem, but for this one, just do:
sudo chown -R $USER:users /home/$USER/.config/deluge

On Mountain Lion, when switching from any app. to finder, when getting to finder I could see my desktop, it no longer works what Have I done?

Well, I guess I wrote everything in the question.
But to repeat myself, when I first got Mountain Lion I was so sooth to see that when I was switching to finder from any other application (using the cmd+tabs buttons) I could see instantly my desktop meaning: the screen without any other windows, the desktop!! With the wall picture and the few folders lingering there.
But for some reason, it doesn't do it anymore...
Was it only an short appercu... only to make me hope that they finally... humm... some frustration with the ...
Anyhow I would appreciate any help.

Try Safe Boot, then see, and boot into ML Recovery too and check your system drive.

Copied profiles from old to new, now i get 'A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time.'

admitting defeat! after copying profiles from old computer to new one i can't get firefox to launch. says it's already open. i have gone as far as deleting the application, along with the cache and profiles and emptying the trash. then downloaded new version and same thing. obviously i'm forgetting something. have been out of the loop for a while... thanks for any help. :)

If you restored or copied a profile folder and not the corresponding file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/profiles.ini_file profiles.ini] then you need to use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and choose the location of the restored profile as the location of the new profile (Choose Folder).

HT1338 As soon as I switch on my Mac book Pro, I get a sound from the optical drive.Is it normal??

It is a 13" MAC book pro bought about a month back.

In addition to checking system preferences/sound/output and selecting built in if that does not work, make sure volume is up and mute not checked.
You can try the following, Take a set of headphones and plug theim in and out several times (there is a micro switch that sometimes gets stuck)
Go to applications>utilities>Audio MIDI set up, see if you can select built in there, make sure volume is uo mute not checked.
Try a NVRAM/PRAM reset:
Power off, power back on holding the following keys OPTION + COMMAND + P + R
Continue to hold these keys till you hear the start chime 2 times, then release,reboot

Switched from Mac to Windows -- Now my Serial # doesn't work

I recently bought a new computer that is a Windows unit -- my old laptop was a mac. I went to install my Creative Suite Software, and found that my serial code only works on Macs -- is there a remedy for this??

Serial numbers are language & platform specific. So, you cannot use Windows serial key on Mac or vice-versa. However, you could get a platform swap done. Not sure, if this is applicable for your old version CS5.5 but it is worth a try. Order product | Platform, language swap

Switching from Windows to mac, how to get master collection cs5 package for mac instead?

Purchased Abobe Master Collection CS5 in 2010 and had been using Windows as an operating system since but I'm about to make the switch to OSX. However the download package and serial numbers I purchased are for windows, can I switch to mac download packages and will my serial numbers work for them?

Unfortunately, Creative Suite packages are operating system-specific. Further, platforem swaps are only supported for the mst recent release which is CS6. You can read more about the policy thru the link below:

Recently switched from Mac to WinXP-- now iPod doesn't show up at all!

As the subject says, I recently reset my iPod (the old black one with video) from my Mac to my Windows XP. I restored the iPod so that it would work on the Windows computer, and I let it sync, since I've got a good amount of songs. As I was syncing, I was also downloading Podcasts. Well, I ended up needing one of the ports to hook up my printer, and removed the port which connects to the internet. iTunes froze for a moment, and I quickly replaced the internet plug. iTunes told me that it could not locate the folder for my iPod, and the icon for my iPod disappeared. I unplugged the iPod from the computer and plugged it back in, but my computer doesn't even recognize that something is being plugged in. I've tried it in different ports but it won't show up at all.

Recently switched from windows to Mac-can't get ipod nano to sync

After reading help pages, I believe I need to reset my ipod. HOwever, all the directions are asking me to select ipod from device list and mine won't even show up on the device page of itunes. At this point I just want to erase everything on it and start over. Any help would be appreciated!

I have read that page before. My problem is that as I try to restore and follow the directions, it says to plug in ipod and wait for it to appear in the itunes page. Well it does not show up, so I cannot find the restore button in the settings. I really think its a software problem as the ipod just says do not disconnect whenever it is plugged into my computer-whether it's charged or not. Thanks for trying to help.

When I record videos it usually gives me sound, but now it's not. There's no sound at all.

Have you checked to make sure your volume is all the way up, ringer is not muted, and that the side switch is also not muted (RED)?
