Switched from PC to a Mac. AE hasn't been used lately. Blinking Amber. ?ms
I've checked around but I think I've hit a wall on solutions.
I was a PC guy who switched to a mac. Due to some other related projects, I hadn't gotten around to using the AE I had bought as a PC guy and used with no problems. Now that I'm on the Mac, I seem to be at a loss to get this thing to work with the mac.
I've held the reset buttons as instructed but the thing is non-responsive. When I plug it into the ac outlets, it blinks a solid amber and then eventually goes to a blinking amber. When I try a "hard reset" I can't get that to work.
I've open airport utility and the AE does not show up there.
Doesn't show up in itunes.
I'm stuck. Not sure what to do from here.

Follow the "factory default reset" procedure described here:

... and keep holding down the reset button until you see the four green flashes, which takes 10-15 seconds (longer than the article suggests). No four green flashes = procedure not followed properly.
At this point, the Airport Express light should flash amber. That is normal, unless it has been cabled to another network or to a cable/DSL modem.
Then turn on your Mac's Airport interface from the Airport menu item (fan-shaped icon near the right side of the MacOS menu bar), and also look for the Airport Express's wireless network when you click on that menu item. It should appear there - and will be called "Apple Network xxxxxx".
If that all checks out, run the Airport Utility. It should now "see" your Airport Express.

I have recently transferred data from my old Mac to my new one. The result was good, but I have 2 users now, whose data I want to merge into 1 single user, so to avoid having to switch from one user to the other to view and use certain files. How to do it?
Here's an easy way:
Pick the user that you want to eliminate (making sure that the remaining user has administrator privileges) and move all of the data that you want to keep into the Shared folder. Reboot or log out and login to the user you want to keep. Copy all the data from the Shared folder into your account - placing it neatly in folders (Documents, Music, Movies, etc.).
Once the data is moved, log into the account you want to delete just once more to make certain that you've grabbed all the data you want to keep. Log out and log back into your admin account and go to System Preferences>Users & Groups and delete the 'old' user.
That should do it.

I am considering switching from MIE to Firefox. But I need to use an outdated version (7.3.1) of QuickTime, and I do not want Firefox to update it. If I installed Firefox, how would I prevent this?
Firefox doesn't update plugins like that. The worst you might see is a "nag" from Firefox after an update, about that plugin being outdated; and you can dismiss that "nag" by just closing it.

before upgrading to Lion, I switched from MobileMe to iCloud. At that time I used my MobileMe user name and password. I purchased additional storage space to 20GB. I was unable to send any emails during this time. After researching, I upgraded to Lion and changed my icloud mail usuer name and password from the original I used from mobileme. How do I get my upgraded storage to my new account. I intend to delete the first one.

Unfortunately you can't, the additional storage belongs to your first account, you can't transfer it. -
This is so frustrating! I have an itunes store account, etc. I lost all my info when I had to "restore" my iphone.
I wasn't able to do the "restore" until recently, gosh it was about 6mos or more ago when my iphone died...
So, as I get older I am having memory problems and haven't been able to access my itunes account.
Obviously when I did the "restore" on my iphone I lost all my info with it... So, wanting to use my iphone for
music, games, etc. I had to create a new apple id, fine, but when I wanted to download a "free" app it says
my apple id hasn't been used with itunes so it keeps asking for credit card info.
I do not remember ever having to have a credit card before!
I am so frustrated... First it was not being able to access my account then having to create a new one, fine!
But now I can't download "free" content without credit card information!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! UGH!!!!!!!
Please, can anyone help...?!?

"Distressed"If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

I have an ipod touch that hasn't been used in a while. We want to use it now, but the screen says "ipod disabled. connect to itunes". When I connect to itunes it tells me to enter my passcode, however the ipod will not allow me to do anything (and I don't know the code anyway). I tried to put it in recovery mode as someone suggested by holding the home button while plugging the ipod up from the computer, but I never did get the "connect to itunes" symbol, I continually got the same screen saying "ipod disabled connect to itunes". Help!
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

When trying to log in to the ITune store for the first time. Keep getting a message "account hasn't been used" , then kicks you out
1) The third or fourth person who wrote back from itunes 'express lane' support was, AS ALWAYS, so nice. She gave me a free coupon for something. She told me that I was a great artist (who writes this stuff?). She held out lures indicating that my podcast might become the next great thing since sliced bread. She told me that she was looking forward to listening to it later.

2) So, the work around that worked was - I setup a BRAND NEW MOBILE ME account as a home for my audio files (using the 2 free month promotion), changed everything I could (and didn't want to) like the TITLE (the old one was recorded in all 5 episodes I've already recorded) , my name (it's still my legal name but I changed to initials and hyphenated with my married name), and added new words into the description, deleted a few words, so that all keywords wouldn't be exactly the same.
That way I had not only a NEW RSS feed but also new data to go with it.
I guess my old submission just sits as a key in some database somewhere forever.
3) I FINALLY GOT APPROVED yesterday and went out to check out my podcast. Boy, was I disappointed not to see my image. But then I read a reply to another post out here from Roger, saying that the images can take several days to update. So I took will be hopeful and check back.

since getting the 'new' ipad, my old one hasn't been used. I tried it early today and it does nothing. It has been on a charge for a few hours now, the apple logo screen blinks occasionally but that is still all it will do? Is this normal and will eventually work or is something wrong with it?
Maybe it has taken umbrage at being dwarfed by the new model!
Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe! -
I have an Apple ID which I had registered years back.I wanted to use the same Apple ID to download apps on my ipod touch - but whenever I try to login with that Apple ID, it tells me "This ID hasn't been used with Itunes", and proceeds to let me "Review" it. In the last step, I'm asked to furnish credit card information, which I don't want to, since all I want to do is to be able to download free apps !!
Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.

How come I could not download anything today? It keeps saying my app is not available in the US store and that I must first switch to Philippine store. But I have long been using Philippines as my location. Pls help me.
Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your device and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select the Philippines.

How do you get rid of an old Apple ID that hasn't been used in a while in which you no longer remember the password and the email account it's tied to no longer exists?
The password will not be sent to you, because Apple does not know it. They will send a link where you can reset the password. My Siri and microphone in other apps hasn't been working lately. I've cleaned the mics, took off te case, and it's still not working. My camera only picks up audio when it's off of vibrate. And now I can't answer texts with the new pull down thing. please help

App store ratings are gone? Just shows release date.
Ok I went in the app store and it's only showing the date the app was released and no stars like always and it's not showing how many ratings under the app just the release date. I went on my iPhone and it shows star ratings and how many users rated.

Processing paths and containers with an "&" in the name
So in the dark ages, someone though it was a good idea to use "&" in a storage path and in a container name. NSM seems to be choking on this, the path errors out... any suggestions short of moving the storage and changing the ou name?
