Switcher missing some functionality

I have had my new and first Mac for about 2 months now. I really like it but I find myself really missing a couple of things that is in Windows.
The very first thing that I miss and I keep trying to do it over and over and over is to be able to resize a window from any edge. I really miss that. It seems unintuitive to only be able to resize from just the one corner.
The other think I really miss is the file warning when you try to copy a file over another file. For instance if there are two files named red.gif and you move a second one into the same directory, OSX will ask you if you wish to replace this file, but it doesn't give you enough information to make the decision. In Windows, it will say something like:
"do you wish to replace red.gif 12 KB 10-10-2007 with red.gif 18KB 12-14-2007 ?"
In OSX I have to open two finder windows and compare the files manually before overwriting. In XP, the dialog gives me the information that I need.
I don't mean to be a complainer, but this is a feature that I really miss. I realize that it won't be added just because of me, but I would like to know how other switchers and oldtimers have worked around these two issues.

There are apps designed for the iPhone that haven't translated well to iPad. I'm sure updates are in the works as we chat. Although you can cause the iPhone app to fill the screen of the iPad, it's format precludes operating in landscape mode. No iPhone app that has not been upgraded to work with the iPad will work in landscape orientation on the iPad. They remain fixed on the screen.
Any film above 720p you get from iTunes will downgrade to that definition when played on the iPad. They may downgrade more, depending on format.

Page 139 of the iPhone User Guide will show you how to reset the Home Screen layout:

Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose an option:
Reset the Home screen layout: Returns the built-in apps to their original layout on the Home screen.

Missing some basic functionality

I seem to be missing some basic functionality, like switching to tty1-n using Ctrl+Alt+F1-n. I can't begin to guess what this is related to, as after several installs I've never experienced that to be missing. Can anyone point me in the right directions? Thanks.

Some missing FCP functions?

I have just switched from FCP to Premiere Pro, and there are some functions, that I'm used to in FCP, that I can't seem to find in PP. 1. Mouse scrolling in the timeline, up/down makes the timeline scroll right/left, when I want it to show hidden tracks (up/down) 2. I would like to be able to set the timelone up, so all clips are unlinked when it is dropped onto it. Not having to "right-click" and "unlink" each clip. 3. Adding transitions to a selection of clips would also be great. And not having to place the CTI over the edit to add the transition. Nada. Lots of people want this (not me), but you can file a feature request here: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form

I don't believe there is a way to do this at the application level--if there is, I'm not aware of it--but if you drop all your clips into a sequence, you can select them all and unlink in one fell swoop. Not exactly the same, so if you want the same, do the Feature Request Thang

Can be done; just select all clips you want transitions between, and go to Sequence > Apply Default Transitions to Selection. If you select just video (hold down Alt or I think Opt on a Mac) or just audio, you'll add transitions to just those, but by default, it adds both audio and video. Note that this requires setting up a default transition (right-click on one in the Effects Panel), and probably your desired duration in the program settings.
And not having to place the CTI over the edit to add the transition.
Not sure I'm following you. You don't have to have the CTI... I mean, playhead (they changed the name in CS5.5... grr) over a transition to edit it. Just select it and you can tweak it in the Effects Controls panel.

TS3276 Acknowledging email/internet parameters are functional when attaching, in any fashion, jpegs of 6GB+ they are being received as 70KB attachments? Have i missed some setting?

Having issue with sending jpeg attachments. Acknowledging that all my email/internet providers are functional and the usual parameters have been checked I currently have the following concern. When attaching, in any fashion, via all methods, jpeg files of 6GB+ they are being sent and received as 70KB+/- attachments? Have a I missed some simple setting or is this a function of iPhoto. I can send the same full size jpeg attacments via Windows based laptops usuing same services, same location; and have had no previous issue using a previous Windows PC.
Appreciate any input.

SQLDeveloper-64bits Missing Migration-Functionality

Hi all, after years of absence from Oracle, I am back
I've installed Oracle11gR2 64bits (11.2.0) , jdk1.7.0_40 64bits and SQLDeveloper 64 bits on WIndows7, all seemingly successful. Then, I tested the installation by creating a test schema and some views.
Following that I tried to migrate the MS SQLServer database Northwind to Oracle, using these instructions:

At the point where the instructions say to "Capture the Microsoft SQL Server Exported Files", I noticed SQLDeveloper missing the functions for Migrations.
Since my return to Oracle is mainly to study the 64bit version of 11gR2 and to migrate SQL Server databases to Oracle, it would be most helpful to know how to use the missing migration
function, else it is a show-stopper.
Where can I get the add-in for the Migration function in SQLDeveloper?

Solaris 10 x86 missing math functions in libm.

I'm working with the 3/05 distribution on a 32-bit x86 box. I'm using gcc 3 and am compiling the following:

/usr/include/iso/math_c99.h on Solaris 10, but the macros only work
with the Sun C compiler.
Current Solaris Express includes a GCC implementation in
addition to a Sun C implementation in <iso/math_c99.h>.

FNDLOAD missed some personalization's from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.2

I am working on the Upgrade project . We are upgrading the Oracle applications from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.2 . So i am uploading the all personalizations from 11i to R12.
I created the ldt file from 11i and and tried to upload in R12. But some of the functions are missed in R12 so the Count is not matched as per the 11i personalizations. I checked in the meta link and they suggested the patch p9446215_R12.FND.B_R12_GENERIC.Zip for R12.
So i tried with latest lct file which is provided with patch also i am missing some data after uploading in the R12. when i check the log file after uploading the data, it is throwing some error. I am mentioning the error below.
I tried to Upload form level as well as Function level. In both ways count of personalizations are not matched.

In the custom mode i tried in both ways like custom_mode=FORCE as well as UPLOAD_MODE=REPLACE. but there is no change in the uploaded R12 files.What if you use "WARNING=YES" option in the FNDLOAD command, do you get any details in the log?

Missing config functions in 2009

I am missing some config functions after upgrading legacy code to 2009.
Specifically "config data registry function.clt" and config data registry.vi"
what is the best way to handle this (copy and rename old lib functions???"
Why would ni break old code on an upgrade by removing public functionality.

I pulled this from the attached forum, but I think it answers your question:
"If a customer want to use any of its subVIs, he
has to keep a copy of the subVI, and maintain the copy himself in the
future. It losts the upgradeability. But it
guarantees an application works on the future LabVIEW version. For
most customers, keep their application work is the most important
thing, have better performance is the second."
Upgrading the VIs those VIs yourself and using them should work for you. Please repost if you run into problems.

I have designed a workflow in which i have to call workflow for n number of times.
In this workflow i have taken one notification and one function . when user submits workflow, its reached to user's parent level(1). If it approves then forwarded to function. it will check whether for that parent level(1) parent is found or not. if parent is found then it will identify the parent level(2) and sets into Attribute level(1) .
and forwarded back to notification.

RTA for CC 5.1 Installation: Missing some programs

We installed RTA for CC 5.1 and we are missing the programs which are responsible for downloading Role data.

Thanks a lot for the info you have provided.
We have double checked the content under the package /VIRSA/ETL and we can not see the programs regarding "Roles download" We are still missing them. Besides that, we don't see the functions you mentioned under SE37.
Is it possible that we have missed some installation component?

ITunes on my iPod Touch is missing some tabs

Can somebody help me?
I have:
+ iPod Touch 4th Generation 32GB
+ Wi-fi connection
+ iOS5 installed
iTunes on my iPod Touch is missing some tabs. The only tabs that's showing on my iTunes are Podcast, iTunes U, Search and Downloads
Also, whenever I try to load un Podcast tab, it ALWAYS say Your request could not be completed.

Where exactly are the tabs that are showing, are they a list at the bottom of the page and next to it is the "More" option, or are you referring to the options on the More tab? You can move these options between the bottom of the page and the More section.
Is that the problem, or is there something else missing? (Perhaps it would have helped if you had mentioned what is missing). If it's the Apps section you are looking for, it has its own App button on the Home screen.
As for the problem with downloading Podcasts, I would try getting them in iTunes on your computer if you cannot download them via the Touch's Wi-Fi.
