Switching account to new computer can't access old account w/changed email

I'm trying to access my itunes account on a rarely used pc that was used for my ipod and authorize my account on a new computer. My itunes account had my old email address and I forgot the password, so when I try to access the account and answer the security questions to send a new password, it ends up offering to send it to my old email address which is no longer valid....how can I access the account to change my email, and de-authorize my old computer and get my music etc. synched with my new one?....maybe I can just set up a new account on the new computer and dump my music from my ipod to it?

To remove the iCloud account you need to delete it.
Settings > iCloud > scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Acccount

  • New computer - can't access itunes account

I have a relatively new computer and an ipod I haven't updated in a long time. I have just tried to create a home share account to see if i can access my old stuff and update but it's not recognising my account and/or password
    HELP

First of all you should really post this in Itunes forums cause you might get more hits on it.. Anyway.. You can only authorize up to 5 comps on one itunes account.. This does not include iOS devices. Those you can have 10.
So to fix this issue, open itunes, hit store on the left side, click log in (or your e-mail address if you are already logged in) in the top right hard corner of the page. One you log into your account you will see a a little area where it says you authorized 5 out of 5 comps. Below it should be a button to clear all those out.  Itunes will de-authorize all computers on the account then you need to go back Store tab in the menu bar and select authorize this computer.
Remember it will deauthorize all your computers, so you need to re-authorize any other computers you have.

  • Need help with my iTunes-new computer-can't access my music

We just got a new computer and I transferred all of my songs from the old to the new and now when I try to access them in iTunes I get an error message that "it cannot be used because the original file cannot be located" Do I have to put in the DVD with all of the files on it in order to use any of my song? I thought that I saved them to my hard drive, but who knows....HELP!!! pLEase!!!

You haven't told us enough about what you did.
You need to explain exactly how you did your transfer.
If you don't care about your ratings and play counts and your really did copy your files across, there is a simple way of getting going again.
With iTunes closed drag iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.itl out of the iTunes folder to the desk top.
Start iTunes and you will have an empty library. Now simply add the folder with your music files in it - normally iTunes Music - to iTunes with File>Add folder to library.
If you didn't copy your files across, try putting the DVD in the drive and opening iTunes - can iTunes find your files now. If so it is a sign you added the files to your library without copying them to your internal HD.

  • New Computer - Can't Access My Old Music

The computer I was using when I first purchased my ipod died. I've recently purchased a new computer and it seems as if all my music died with my old computer. When I plug up to the new computer, it seems that I have to erase all my music and start over. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello there,
If you still have all of your music on your iPod, you could copy it over to your new library on your new computer. There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes.
There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your new computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync." Hope this helps.
Also, if you have any purchased music, make sure to authorize your new computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

  • New computer - can't transfer old itunes, problems importing cd's

Sorry the subjec area has multiple topics, but i've got issues. Long story short: computer completely broke. Can't even view screen to try and restore anything or remove programs. Now have HP dv6000. Since I can't move old itunes acct over to new computer, I've resorted to importing all my cd's again. For some reason, some cd's don't even come up when i put them in the drive. No message, no warning - nothing. I insert the cd and it just spins and spins. Is this an itunes issue or a HP issue? Is it because some cd's don't allow you to copy to more than one computer?
    Any suggestions?

You should probably post in the itunes forum, since it appears your question has little or nothing to do with ipods.
Where is your back up? Did you not maintain a back up of your music/pics/docs/etc?
You can copy a cd on as many computers as you like. Your problem is very likely not an itunes issue.

  • New computer can't access TC

i have been using TC wireless with my mac book pro. I recently got a Mac pro (1st gen) which only has ethernet. It connects to the internet just fine - and sees the TC icon in the finder window.
If I double click on it - I am not able to connect. Says connection failed.
I would like to pull some files off that TC which was backed up from my laptop (it's in the shop).
I should mention that I have not backed up this computer to the TC yet.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

Also, is it possible to pull an application off the TC???

  • Moved Library to new computer - can't access all music on IPOD

    Hi,
I apologize in advance if this exact issue has already been discussed.
I recently migrated all my data to a new laptop. I was successful in moving my music files over and re-installing the IPOD/I-Tunes software. Now, only 50% of my Music Library will download to my IPOD. The music that won't come across is mostly stuff that I purchased via I-Tunes.
    What should I do?
    thanks!

Have you played each track at least once within iTunes before you try and load the track to your iPod? If you haven't played the tracks once, try doing that and then see if they'll load; they may not be correctly authorized.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't access Skype Credit after changing email acc...

I changed the email address linked with my Skype Account a few months back. After that I have lost access to my Skype Credit. How do I go about retrieving my old Skype credit? Also, is there a Skype support email id I can contact?

    Hi autobull,
You may try to call the support (they seemed to be quite much aware of the problem - password management between Ovi and Yahoo is veeery fragile), or then try to contact bretj in this forum. He sorted it out for me, but I think support would have done it also - sooner or later.
Lesson learnt: never change your Ovi password.
    Cheers,

  • HT1420 My songs that I purchased on my itunes account from my dad's computer will not play on my new computer, I have access to my entire account but can only play songs purchased using my new computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

My songs that I purchased on my itunes account from my dad's computer will not play on my new computer, I have access to my entire account but can only play songs purchased using my new computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Kevin,
Have you authorized the Computer to your Apple ID?
If not, sign on to iTunes.
Then got to the Store menu option at the top of the screen (CTL+B if it is not showing), and click on it to display the dropdown, and select Authorize this computer.
If that doesn't work, then sign on your Dad's iTunes ID and repeat the Authorization process.
    Cheers,

  • I switched to a new computer...

After switching to a new computer, I was successful in moving my music library to the new computer, but after I purchased some music I could no longer access my music.  It is giving me an error message that it cannot locate the original file.  Also, apple sent me a message informing me that music had been purchased from a different machine using my account number (which of course, I already knew.)  Any ideas how to successfully make the transition to a new computer without problems?

    Do you use automatic downloads?

Any ideas, I can access files - i.e. jpegs of old work, but can't edit new photos...

If you have a license for Lightroom, you should be able to reinstall it from an installer disc or re-download it from Adobe after explaining the situation and clarifying the license issues. Either will be simpler than trying to extract and install it from a TM backup of a different Mac, I think. If it's anything like other Adobe products, it has bits and pieces all over the place that you'll have to find and put in their right places on your girlfirend's Mac.

  • PSE 6 switching to a new computer - any way to import albums and tag/label heirarchies?

I've just switched to a new computer and have copied and imported all my photos over to it. When I imported the photos using PSE6, I lost all the heirarchies of tags/labels (e.g., people not in the people category, ditto for places, animals, etc.). Also, I've lost all my albums. Is there a way to export/import this information from my old computer before it goes to the recycling bin?
    TIA for any help.
    Mary

    > My original attempt to move files included using the Folder Location tree and moving the main photo directory from one drive to another. That copied all the files over, but resulted in all the photos showing up as missing in the catalog.
That is not good moving within Folder Location view should not produce missing files. This suggests you may have encountered one of the PSE bugs in handling hard drives.
I recommend letting this first attempt at doing a restore complete and then thoroughly testing it. Do File > Reconnect > All Missing to see if there are any missing files. Try viewing a number of your files in the Organizers full screen. And try importing a few dummy photos from the old drive to make sure you can have photos stored on both the old and new drives.
    > it appears that all the files are going in without any subdirectories
There are options you can set in the File > Restore Catalog command that control how folders are restored. See this Adobe tech note:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402894
Assuming that your test above works ok, then you can redo the restore using the desired options.
