Switching between applications without Login

Hi
I have 2 Apex applications, one and each requires "login".
Once logged in to any of those applications I want to be able to switch between those two without having to "ReLogin".
Is this possible?

If the applications are in the same workspace this can be done as described in thread {thread:id=515240}

  • How do I fix (Firefox 32 has caused problems) switching between application (without first minimizing) windows and unintended scrolling

When I have several different application windows open I must first minimize the current application window in order to view another application window. Sometimes when I have two windows (for instance a chat window) open, one on top of the other, the top window moves to the back w/o being requested to move.
I also experience unintended scrolling on various applications open in FF 32.
These problems do not occur in IE.

The windows popping may be a system problem. While many users
report this type of problem with Firefox, I have seen non Firefox
windows popping up. Even if the window was minimized.

  • My Mas Air keeps switching between applications

Anyone has this problem? Since i upgraded to Maverick, my system keeps switching between apps without any interventions, i dont even touch the laptop and it does.
    Steve

I will try this cause yes I am using Google Drive. Another thing I noticed doing more test is that in fact the switch of apps that is occuring is all link to the FINDER. this is the application that goes in the back and comes back in the front of other apps all the time. I moved it to my monitor and the switch occurs there, if I close or minimize it, all is good.

  • Switching between applications using commands, not clicks

Using Automator, how do I switch between applications using commands, not clicking on windows? I want to copy from Safari and paste into FileMaker, along with performing other tasks. The applications are not important; it could be any. I just can't figure out how to call an application to the front using Automator.

Automator doesn't bring applications to the front, it just uses them to perform the actions. For example, the Get Text from Webpage action uses Safari to perform it's function. I don't have FileMaker to see what actions it provides, but they would most likely do their thing using FileMaker's scripting dictionary without bringing the application to the front.

  • Trouble switching between applications

When switching between applications I have a weird problem. Intermittently the menubar for the app I'm switching from will stay but the windows for the app I'm switching to will appear like they should. Most of the only way to fix this is to kill the apps.
    Any thoughts?

No Not using any tricky keys to switch. Applications just "lock up" like the old days. After switching apps, can't get back to an app. It is locked up in a process that ultimately results in an entire hard reset. Any one else have this happen on an iMac 2.4 intel core 2 running 10.5.2? Really weird slow behavior lately as well. Maybe there are some prefs I could dump..
tried the disc utility thing a few times. Fonts seem to create havok so I often disable those as well.

  • Switching between applications

Is there any way you can switch between applications other than using the home button?, sorry if this is a stupid question.
    Tim

No, unless the app is launched by the app you're in (like a link in an email opening Safari)

  • How can I switch between apps without going to home screen?

Is there anyway to switch between apps with one tap? (ie. without going to home screen first). Kind of like a command-tab feature.
    Steve

Well, you can have one app that you can get to with a double push of the home button (set in settings which you want), but I think it's only your contacts list, or your ipod app. Still useful though.

  • Delay occurs when switching between applications

System worked fine before installing Mavericks.  Now each time I switch been applications there is a 5-10 sec delay before the new application responds.  The applications don't actually hang, the system does catch up, but it makes the system unusable.
For example, I wil have Outlook 2011 up on one monitor and Safari up on another monitor and each application will work fine and be responsive.  But when I click between the two open applications, 5-10 sec delay occurs.  During the delay, the first application continues to be responsive (will respond to mouse clicks, can type, can close, can move/resize, etc.) but the second application (the one that I'm clicking to) won't respond to anything. Evenuntaly, the system catches up and the second application becomes responsive, but the same thing occurs when switching back to the original application.
So far, it seems to impact all applications - Office 2011, evernote, safari, webex, adobe reader, system perferences, and finder.
Verified Disk Permissions and vefied disk - no improvement.
Rebooted the system - no improvement.
    Ensured spotlight indexing wasn't running.
    Any suggestions?

Apple was able to help fix this.  From what I understood, they had me delete the Apple settings files and then the operating system would recreate them - sorry, didn't note the specific directories they said to delete.  They said it was an issue caused by installing the new OS.  Deleting the files fixed the issue.

  • Flash CS3: Serious lag when Switching between Applications

I've got a serious problem with Flash CS 3 on my Macbook Pro,
    which makes it almost unworkable.
When I'm working in flash, switch to another application
(Mail, Illustrator, any...) and then switch back to flash. the
program freezes for at least 9 to 10 seconds: The Menu's are all
transparant and greyed out, and the only thing I see is the beloved
    "beachball" spinning.
Needless to say that this makes it very hard to work with the
program, since switching between apps is a big part of my workflow.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
I have re-installed the whole CS3 suite (twice) and even
cleaned up my computer and did a clean install of OS X!!
    I'm running on a 15" mac book pro (2,33) with 2gig memory,
    bought last may.
    Any help is welcome,

I'm having the same problem as well. I was using Flash 8,
thought I would upgrade to Flash CS3 and solve the problem but that
was no good. There's still a long lag time when switching to Flash
from any other program. Not sure if it's a Memory problem or a Font
problem. Any word on a solution for this annoying problem?
    I'm running a PowerPC G5 with dual 2.0ghz processors and 2.5
    GB of ram.
    Thanks!

  • Weird window behavior when switching between applications????

When I switch between two applications, the other window disappears. This is annoying if I am trying to copy text from say, textedit, to another application like mail or Excel. When I switch to the mail app, the textedit window disappears. And when I switch to textedit, the mail window disappears. I have to keep going to the Dock to get to the other window.
I did not think this was always the case. Is there a setting I am missing? I really think I was able to see both a textedit window AND an Excel or Mail window at the same time. Please help

Do you have any third-party extensions installed? I googled and found several that will perform this auto-hide action: Quitling, App Presto, AutoHide, and DragThing are some of them.

  • RDS 2012 Farm with RDS 2008 R2 - Switch between applications issue.

    Hello All,
We have setup Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS farm with two hosts and joined Windows Server 2008 R2 to the farm. We joined server 2008 to the farm becouse we require Internet explorer 9 for compatibility testing. Internet explorer 11 in emulated modes does not
work for us. Now we seem to be facing a wierd issue.
When switchig between RemoteAPP application from server 2012 R2 and server 2008 R2, the applicatoins don't get displayed on screen. The computers try to desplay the applicaitons but it seems that Server 2008 R2 applications win and stay on top. The applications
are switched only with effort, 4-5 clicks on the applicaiton.
Did anyone else expiriance similar problem. Does anyone knows a solution for this. Is there alternative aproach/solution to my problem.
    Any suggestoins are welcome.
    Thanks.
    Regards, Luka

    Hi Luka,
When switchig between RemoteAPP application from server 2012 R2 and server 2008 R2
Do you mean that both Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 have published remoteapp applications, and users are switching remoteapp applications from these two servers through RDWeb page?
I suggest you try to fully patch servers and clients to see if the issue persists.
If there are any third party software installed, please disable them temporarily to test.
    Best Regards,
    Amy

  • Switching between Applications/email and what have you

    Gentlemen and ladies,
If i where to open different programs/applications or documents at the same time, which is the easiest way to go back to any of previous please ?
let me explain further. If i open Safari then Mails then games and tones of Ap[plications how do i go back to the older ones without using X

I find expose and / or spaces to be quite useful for this, and have assigned certain applications to certain desktop spaces, allowing me to switch back and forth quite seamlessly either by using the application switcher, or keyboard shortcuts to go between spaces. Only minor setup sometimes is that expose won't show a view of running apps that are assigned to a different desktop space other than the one your working in. I'm sure you're probably wondering what I'm on about, so check out these links cause it's hard to explain without physically seeing it in action.

  • HT5891 When switching between applications on different displays, Microsoft Word (or Excel) "steals focus" and becomes the active window.

In Mission Control, Displays have separate Spaces is checked. This happens regardlesss of whether I'm switching using Command+Tab or a mouse.  Any suggestions?

There is a workaround for this problem, which was posted by Highestwater on the Microsoft Community thread for this bug and worked for me as well:
    Go to
System Preferences > Mission Control >
and UN-check the box labeled "Displays have separate Spaces" (see image below)
The original poster on this thread may already be aware of this workaround, because he/she mentioned that the "separate Spaces" option is checked. But if you can live without the extra Mavericks dual display features (like going full screen in 1 display only, switching spaces independently on each display, and having a menu bar on each display), then uncheck this option and the "stealing focus" bug seems to disappear. For me the bug is so annoying that it's worth it to lose the extra features. Just yesterday I closed a Word document I was working on by mistake because I clicked on a Finder window on my other display and immediately pressed command-w to close it, without realizing that the focus had switched to my word document which closed instead. It was saved, but this sort of stuff interrupted my work enough to be both an annoyance and a time drain.

  • Hot Keys for Switching between Applications (Equivalent to Windows Alt-Tab)

    Please help.
For the longest time, I have had trouble finding the keys to enable a fast switch of active applications. Is there an "ALT-TAB" for us Mac lovers? I mostly want to know because when playing WoW, I'd like to be able to switch to Safari at a drop of a hat to look up info.
    Any suggestions/answers?
    -M

    The alternative command is Command-TAB.
When WoW operates in full screen it might not work however.
You posted in the wrong forum BTW.
Please post in the appropriate forum next time.
E.g. in one of the Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger forums.
    Hope this helps.
