I am in my 2nd month of an initial free 6 months on BB option 1.I am finding that 10gb is not enough and would like to switch to the 40 gb tariff.Does anyone know if my "discount" of £13 per month for the remaining 4 months would also be transferred and deducted from the new £18 monthly charge.?

How do you take information from one layer and switch it to another?

I am trying to figure out how to take pictures and text that I have already placed on one layer and switch it to another layer. I have like 50 pages worth of information and I am trying to look for the easiest way to do this. In illustrator and Photoshop, its pretty easy. Wanting to know if it is the same because I have been trying but it is not there. Just in case it matters, Im using CS5 on a pc. Help is greatly appreciated.

Please follow the below steps.
Step 1
Create the separate layer. Select the content you want to move.
Step 2
Go to check layer panel, near the pen symbol icon, the below box drag to move up to the image layer, see sample
Step 3
This option use spread wise content, it will complete the task with fast. If more faster, please raise as question to Scripting Forum, they can suggest the tool.

After switching broadband provider I can't send emails?

When I am abroad I cannot send emails unless I go into my email on the browser. Then yesterday we switched broadband providers with the same result ie can no longer send emails without going through the browser. Any ideas?

A lot of e-mail providers will only allow e-mails to be sent thought their smtp servers when you're on their network and/or using one of their accounts for anti-spam reasons. Gmail and me.com seem ok for allowing you to send when out and about though.

Seamless Home Move with Broadband from Another Pro...

Allow me to rant.
I'm moving home.
BT provide my landline phone. O2 provide my broadband.
I want to move my landline and my broadband and have them up and running the day I move in.
To arrange the broadband move, O2 need a LORN (Linking Order Reference Number) from BT.
The LORN number doesn't become active until the day the landline is moved (according to the most recent BT help rep. I spoke to).
O2 need 5 working days from the day the LORN number becomes active, to switch the broadband.
So, apparently I can't move my phone and broadband seamlessly from one home to another.
O2 say they can't do anything, it's BT's problem. BT help say they can't do anything, it's BT Openreach's problem.
Oh, but I can't talk to Openreach because they're not a retail company, and BT help can't talk to Openreach on my behalf because ... well, I don't know why; they just can't.
Don't people want to do this kind of move every day?
I've been dissatisfied with O2 for a while, mainly due to continually dropped connections, but I haven't switched providers because my preferred alternative, Plusnet, definitely couldn't take over seamlessly from O2 during a landline move.
If I'm going to be without broadband for a week or so in my new home, which it looks as though I will be, I may as well now switch to Plusnet, and whilst I'm switching, I may as well get my landline from them as well, since they offer such a good package.
So, BT's inability to activate a LORN number has lost them a customer.
The combined total of 2 hours on BT and O2 help lines during the past week played a part, too.

Switching of user access for substitute during vacation

We have A and B user
If A is going leave for 10 day,
For this ten day, I want to switch the A user role to B user,
Which we have to do in single step.
I know by changing composite role it possible,
Is there any other way ?

As the others have mentioned, you get what you build for.
My recommendation if you use composites, is to only use them. Otherwise avoid them and build "better" and less single roles. This will also be easier for you during upgrades.
In this case I guess there is a temptation to have a smaller single role to assign with a validity period to the user. The problem is that if you have 50 000 of those, then you have a mess in no time...
Another option would be to use a workflow solution which you can configure for "approval" type of tasks for example. That way the user does not necessarily even need the authority themselves, and the person going on vacation can request and setup their representative themselves, and cancel it when they come back, etc...

I switched off my ipod touch 4g during an ios6 update

it was during the ios6 update that i realised for some reason i did not want to update it because of what my friends told me, it had nothing beneficial for the ipod touch 4g, so i decided to switch off my ipod touch 4g and now it would not turn on the only thing that i could do with it was restart it which i have done over 40 times and it either shows the apple logo and then goes dull or turns blue to yellow, yellow to white, grey to white etcetera.
Can someone please help me i don't know what to do with it i've looked everywhere for a solution.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Is there any way on Mountain Lion to get the dashboard to overlay my open windows but not switch me to another screen?

I love the idea of widgets on Mountain Lion but when I try to open the dashboard I am always redirected to another screen that pulls them up. Is there any way to have the dashboard show up like the launchpad does, as a screen that overlays my current work but doesn't change my screen? I want to be able to check out information at a glance or write on a sticky note without having to manuever over to another window and then switch back. I saw this done by another Mac user but idk if they had Mountain Lion. All help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Every time I choose to, or am forced to, upgrade, there is at least one stupid / un-useful/ performance or usability killing change to the Interface.
Make the product better or faster but STOP making Front End changes that cannot be undone, and also please document all front-end changes and how to set them back.
Beta testers are NOT a good poll for customer assumption. I beta many programs and am always shocked and amused at just what other users think is "useful", but i NEVER would suggest a front-end change without an 'OFF SWITCH" or "Choice-seletion" - that way, everyone is happy.
I.e
1 - New download window just sucks. I don't need to see History, the left waste-of-space window, nor the waste of space that comes from NOT having a 1-lin per download display
2 - Who was the brain surgeon who decided that no one wants menus, and then did not document it - we all had to find out in web searches just what key under about:config turns off that stupid button
3 - Tools/Options .. WHERE did all the OPTIONS GO ?? There used to be pages for each tab ?
Note - this is being sent from an XP system - but the same stupid things happen on my Win7 and Linux systems

no offense, but your suggestions, all of them fall into the "just accept it and move on" category - which is just NOT acceptable to me.

I just ran into another "improvement" in 21.0 that has my teeth on edge .. and then the automatic update-notifier, if it was aware, would wonder why I strenuously refuse to upgrade .. - Every time I upgrade, something stupid is added or something useful is removed, and the only 'official' answers are to use a 3rd party add on or just 'accept it', or spend time, a LOT of time, decompiling and recompiling old FF code and adding it back into the current version to regain the Front end I want ... which is VERY time consuming.
How does one speak to, talk to, contact, the actual programmers or Product managers of this once-wonderful tool that is now running dead last behind Opera, Chrome and Safari (which is two years old and still better than version 21).
....I just restored my original downloads window, menus AND behavior but it took a week. I sent the message that you replied to when I was just plain stuck in rebuild, with no idea what was wrong. Took my son to notice an extra paren and comma ...

New Windows 8.1 Connected to company NAS, now switching identities with another computer on the NAS

So I recently installed a new Windows 8.1 computer and mapped a network drive to the company NAS. Now, this new computer (let's call it Joe) has switched certain features with another computer on the NAS (let's call it Marie).
- Joe and Marie have switched histories in Chrome
- Joe has Marie's Chrome bookmarks
- Marie can see and access Joe's mapped network drives
- Joe's Chrome automatically brings up Marie's saved IDs and password for email and online databases
However
- Joe's computer identity remains Joe in computer properties
- Other software besides Chrome are acting in the normal, separated fashion
"Joe" has been using the computer a bit since I installed it, so I don't know everything that has been done to the computer. What would make PCs partially switch identity like this, and how do I fix it? Is there some way that
Windows 8 maps network drives differently? Is this a virus (both computers have BitDefender)?

I will have to double check again to make sure I'm telling the truth (I've gone through so many iterations in the past weeks I can't remember which way is up :-) but I believe that the drive was showing in offline files, but that attempting sync (even
repeatedly) did not bring the drive contents back. Which also begs the question, if the user has not made the drive "available offline" why would it be acting like it is? I've considered actually making it available offline, but I don't want
all of that data on his laptop and I'm also concerned that we'd then have more problems as he continues to work for hours and days on his offline copies.
I should also add that I was able to work with the client on Friday and we were able to determine that the VPN is NOT dropping as we're able to ping devices on the LAN side immediately once the files disappear.

Another headache - "problem during multiplexing/burning - buffer underun"

After many iDVD issues, I finally got the burning process of my DVD project.. half way through it spit my DVD out and gave me these errors:
"Errors were found during the burning process:
The recording device reported the illegal request: Buffer underrun. (0x21, 0x02.)
There was a problem during multiplexing/burning."
What is this supposed to mean and how can I just burn my DVD?!

It's been awhile since I had this error crop up, but I know 2 things that caused it for me.
1) Bad DVD media. It happened a lot when I was using some cheap, off brand DVD-R's. More expensive Sony DVD's (white) are much better and more consistent. The time wasted with bad burns from bad DVD media is not worth the time.
2) It could even be a problem with your DVD burner going bad, but not as likely. I did have one SuperDrive replaced because I started having problems even with good, recommended brands of DVD media. However, try getting some better media first. Don't buy a lot. Try out a small package of DVD-R's or buy a disc from a friend to try out a brand.
Another possibility: Lack of sufficient, free hard drive space. Here's what iDVD 6's help file states:
"When you burn a DVD, iDVD needs temporary space on your hard disk to store the encoded files for your project. To burn your iDVD project to a single-layer DVD disc, you should have 8-10 gigabytes (GB) of free disk space on your hard disk, depending on the size of your project. For double-layer discs, you need 15-20 GB of free disk space."

You might also want to defragment your hard drive (with a 3rd party utiility such as TechTool Pro) so that you don't have a fragmented hard drive when burning a project.
Speed rating of the DVD media- I've seen reports that some SuperDrives work best with media rated the same as it's maximum burn speed (e.g.- 4x, 8x, etc). I would recommend trying to find media that matches your SuperDrive burn speed, or no more than twice the burn speed.

You didn't mention which version of iDVD you were using or which operating system. Sometimes other users have tips for you based on that info.

Facetime - does it need to be switched on, on another person's device?

I'm new to my iPad and new to Facetime. If I want to contact someone via their email address that is in as a contact, when I make the call do they have to have selected Facetime and be waiting for my call or does their device just ring and then they can select Facetime to see the call?
With Skype I know that we both have to have Skype 'switched on' to call one another. Is this the same with Facetime?
I'd love just be be able to call someone at any time without prior arrangement and their device ring and they just answer the call.
Is this possible?

The other party do not have to wait for your call. There will be sound and notification on his/her screen even if they are doing something else.
There will be a miss call message on their screen if they are asleep.

Switched broadband provider-Azureus no longer opens ...

Just switched to Sky Broadband (uk service) (was previously using ntl world for internet-wirelessly)
-opened up azerues as per normal
-blue frog appears for 1second in the dock then disapears
Has anyone got any ideas? Ive tried removing azerues from the computer and re-downloading the dmg but to no avai. Still same problem.

How to switch ON/OFF Unassigned Hierarchy Nodes during Query Runtime?

We have a GL Account Hierarchy based on an FSV that we use in BW reports.
All our reports are web reports accessible via BW Portal.
This hierarchy has an Unassigned Node also that we have suppressed (switched off) for display via Hierarchy Attributes Settings.
When you check the Suppress Unassigned Node box the unassigned nodes do not show on the report.
This has been working fine so far until we have this one requirement where user would like to see unassigned GL Accounts also.
We would like to check/uncheck this flag (Supress Unassigned Node) during the query run time.
Is there a way to control showing/hiding of unassigned node of a hierarchy during query runtime?

Hi Ram,
If you have set hierarchy attribute as display unassigned node, then you can simply select the root as filter in order not to display the unassignd node.
However if you have set hierarchy attribute as suppress unassigned node, then you can't choose the unassigned node by the filter.
So if users want both, you need to set hierarchy attribute as display unassigned node. You cannot really change this setting at runtime by user.
