You are allowed to have two activated installations, so if you prefer you can keep the original installation intact. If you prefer not to then the minimum you need to do is deactivate it.

You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

My old computer died and I've installed my photoshop elements 10 on the new one and have imported all my photos. WHat I can't figure out is how to get my tags and albums back. I tunes will find it by itself during the install process. It is in settings if you want to know what it is, but you do not need it for the install process.

You can install on up to 2 computers for your personal use.
If you will be giving away or disposing of the old one, go to the Help menu in Photoshop and select "deactivate". Also uninstall off the old one check marking the option to remove the serial number.

Can I install photoshop cs5 on more than one computer, if "owned" by a different user?

I want to install my recently purchased photoshop cs5 on my macbook, as well as my imac. The only thing I worry about is that the macbook is in my name and the imac is technically in my dad's name, even though he only uses it to surf the web. The only reason he even bought the imac as opposed to anything else is so that I'd have a great place to edit photos. I really need it to be on both, will this work? Need help moving photoshop 7.0.1 to new computer

I hope everyone is doing well. I also hope someone can help me out. I need to move/load Photoshop 7.0.1 onto a different computer - o/s Windows XP Professional v.2002. We are a small company with no IT department and the original CDs and product keys/proof of purchase are lonnnnnnnnng gone. Upgrading is not an option at this time, the powers that be will most likely tell me to do my photoshop work on the laptop, but I want everything at my fingertips at my desk. Too much to ask? Apparently it is because I cannot figure out how to load onto my desktop.
I've read, in several places, that Adobe allows the user to download the software to two computers, but I don't know if its ever been loaded elsewhere and when I moved the file from my laptop to our rustic server - didn't work. Then I tried copying everything to a memory stick and moving it to my new computer BUT there is no .exe file when I do this. I can't make it run. And never did I receive an messages that scream - hey you, you can't load this on more than two computers.
I called Adobe and they informed me that they no longer support this version over the phone and that I should check out the forums. Unfortunately, I cannot find the info I need on the forum. Perhaps I'm using the wrong terminology in my search - I have tried several variations...loading, moving, reinstalling....and come up empty. Actually, come up with lots of stuff (from years ago) that doesn't help. In one post I thought could be the holy grail, there was a link that bottomed out - took me nowhere.
I don't what else to do, I don't know what the google anymore. I'm hopeful someone has an answer other than an upgrade. Thanks.

Note that I am assuming you're properly licensed to be able to run the app on your new computer. I do not propose doing anything illegal.
With the ollld versions of Photoshop, like the one you have, you can try going through a process like this:
1. Copy the entire c:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0 folder to the new computer.
2. Try to run Photoshop on the new computer.
3. Note any "missing DLL" message.
4. Locate the DLL on the old computer (e.g., in C:\Windows\System32 or wherever), and copy it to the same place on the new computer.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 until no more "missing DLL" messages present themselves.
There may be other types of messages you'll see. They're usually descriptive enough to be able to determine what it's looking for that it does not have. If you get one you're unsure of how to handle, post it here.

Loading CS5 and Lightroom 4 on new computer

I have CS5 and LR4 on my laptop. I have all of the disks. I bought a new desktop computer. I understand I can have photoshop & lightroom on 2 computers under one license. To load CS5 and LR4 on new desktop, would I copy LR3 and download updates and then load LR4? If this makes any differences, these are student edition with licenses.

Don't worry about installing the old versions. They're not required.
Just install CS5 and LR4, enter the serial numbers and the installer will ask for a previous version serial number during installation of LR4.

Uninstall as they say. Check "remove preferences" if that is offered.
Next download and run the CS Cleaner for either Windows or Mac to remove whatever is blocking the install.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Make sure you install with your account set as "Administrator". If you have a Mac, verify your disk and Repair Permissions with Disk Utility.
