Switching from Iphone 5 to Galaxy s5--iMessage issue

I recently switched from my iphone5 to my galaxy s5. I am unable to receive messages from other iphone users due to imessage, I am able to send and they do receive them. Those receiving messages are unable to send messages to me at all. With the message "Message could not be delivered" listed for them. I have attempted the following: Removing my icloud, disabling imessage from my phone, backing up the phone and doing a full reset/restore after imessage had been disabled, had the receiving user delete the message thread and start a new one. Any suggestions?

  • Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons.  Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music.  Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users -  there is no notification either way that a message was not received.  So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't.  This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication.  I also have clients I have not received texts from.  My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.

If you still have the iPhone, go to Settings and turn off iMessage. If you don't have the phone or if that doesn't solve the problem, contact Apple Support and request that they deactivate iMessage. https://www.apple.com/support/appleid/contact/

  • Switched from iPhone 5s to Android iMessage problems

I recently switched from the iPhone 5s to the Android Galaxy Note 3. I made sure before I wiped the iPhone that I turned of iMessage. I had no trouble switching everthing to the Android world and now 2 months later I am suddenly haveing issues with not recieving text messages from anyone with an iPhone. After finding this out I quickly realized it was sending the messages through iMessage however previous texts say 2 weeks ago were sent SMS. I have an iMac for my personal computer and I have an iPad 2 however iMessage is also not set up on either of these. Can anyone help me to fix this issue? I did read an article that I needed to delete profiles from my iTunes device list and I did delete all objects that I do not have anylonger however my most recent iPhone 5s was not even on that list to begin with so I am not sure that was the solution for me.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Switched from Iphone to Galaxy, Contacts with Iphone's can't message me

I've switched from the Iphone to the Galaxy S5, everyone in my Contacts list that still has an iphone, can not text me. I keep showing up as an imessage. My iphone has been sold back to Verizon and wiped. My Contacts have deleted me and reentered me, nothing seems to be working. Help

Text the word "stop" to 48369 from your new phone. This should deregister your number from Apples system. Restart your phone.
It should work now, but some iPhones may take a while longer before they will recognize your phone not being in Apple's system.

  • Switched from iPhone to Galaxy S3 and now back to iPhone 5

I am having issues with imessage on the iphone. I can't sent imessages from my phone number but i can send them from my emails that are registered for imessage. How can I fix it to send from my phone number?

    Hello missyrocks14,
Signing out of your Apple ID in Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive, then signing back in can help get your iPhone to send messages from your phone number.
To sign out of your Apple ID
Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
If you have difficulty activating FaceTime or iMessage

    Settings > Messages > iMessage > OFF

  • Switched from iPhone to Android and now iMessage being sent instead of Text

A friend of mine recently switched from iPhone to Android and now my text are being sent as iMessage instead of text and he obviously isn't receiving it. How do I fix this bug. I'm using iPhone 4 running iOS 5

I apologize about the odd style but I'm using voice rec software.  I just got the Galaxy S five and I have this problem too after weeks of searching online I finally figured out the problem it is with iMessage even if you have your old phones imessage switched off. you have to get your friends to text you normally and send. If the text bubble shows up blue, press and hold choose option send as SMS or text and the bubble will change to green green means SMS blue is the iMessage so its up to the iPhone user to take literally a half of an extra step to send a text to you and if they don't do that then they're just jerks

  • After switching from iphone 4 to iphone 6 i lost sync with iMessage on my mac book

    Hello
I have jsut switched from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6. Previously I could use iMessage sync'ed on my iPhone and my Mac-Book. Now I doesn't work anymore. I went into settings->messages->SMS transfert from the iPhone. I saw the Mac Book being referenced but when I put the switch into green it shows a pop-up asking me to pin-in the code that should be shown in Messages from the Mac-Book but nothing is posted there.
I hope I am clear. Just trying to get back to what I used to like as very convenient.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Best
    Pierre

    Hello
In the meantime while I was working on the issue a window popped on my iPhone asking for my password for iCloud. So I wasn't connected to iCloud and after I connected it all went OK and iPhone 6 now coupled with iMessage on the Mac Book.
So I'm fixed and thanks again for your help.

  • I switched from iPhone 4 to Android Galaxy 4S.

I switched from iPhone 4 to Android Galaxy 4S. I am not receiving all group text messages from iPhone users. I unregistered my iPhone from my apple profile. Sms and MMS are on on all devices. One person has to double tap the send button to send to me as a text. The others are just not coming through to me. They all receive my messages, but I get none of the replies.

Try these two tips (copied from other thread and apple support)
Let's get this resolved sbash! Please ask the sender of the message to try below options....
    1. Log into iCloud and remove my old iPhone from my profile.
    2. Reset the password on my apple ID so that any other ios device that used "my profile" would be forced to re-sync.
    3. Remove the phone from my support profile, log in and remove the phone.
Go to your support profile, remove the iphone: http://bit.ly/17RD5sY
Also, go into your iTunes account and remove the iMessage settings from your phone number. On the iOS device, go to Settings>Messages>and click the Send as SMS button ON (make the button green). Ensure you have turned off iMessage on your old iPhone and erased the entire text thread between you and your contact you can't receive from. Have your contact erase their entire text thread from you as well, power off/on both phones and test. If you no longer have your iPhone to do so you will need to contact Apple Support. Please keep me posted. Thank you.

    Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

  • My friend recently switched from iphone to blackberry, but my messages to her are still sent as imessage. how can i send it as a normal message? she doesn't receive any of my messages. her phone number is saved in my phone under the phone tab, not iphone.

Sounds like your friend didn't disable iMessage on his/her iphone before switching.  Have your friend do the following:
    Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
    Click on "edit products"
Click on the "x" to the right of his/her old iPhone.
    Click "unregister"
This should unregister it with the iMessage server, which will allow you to send texts as normal SMS.
On your iPhone make sure you have Settings>Messages>Send As SMS set to ON.

You can turn on BT tethering but it disables Wifi so if I have to do that step every time I get in my car, I just as well manually connect on BT every time.

switched from iPhone 5 to Galaxy Note 3 and not getting texts
Turned off I message. Now what?

Do not expect ANY help from Apple.
I switched to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and have been gettig the run around for the last FOUR weeks...the tech I spoke with only returned one of my many phone calls after our initial conversation (in which she told me she reset the computer and I should be all set in 48 hours) to say it should clear itself up, there is nothing she can do to help.
