Switching from Old Appraisal System to Management By Objective (MBO)

Dear fellow practitioners,
I have a requirement to switch or migrate from the OLD appraisal system to the NEW appraisal system (MBO).
Does anyone have any information of the implications of switching the value of REPLA in T77SO from blank to 'A' or 'X' when the old appraisal system is already configured previously and is to be replaced by the new appraisal system with similar business requirements?
There is an existing appraisal catalog configured for the old appraisal system. How do I migrate the Appraisal Models in the Appraisal Catalog of the OLD Appraisal system to the NEW Appraisal Catalog in MBO?
I have not been able to find much information with regards to this. Therefore, many thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light or provide some references to this matter.

Hello,
have a look at note 728542
It was planned to use the switch to replace the appraisal functionality in only one of the applications; technically it's turned out, this was not possible.
For using the usual functionality for appraisals in training and event management (TEM), HAP00 REPLA has to be set to space.
All other settings: X, T, A will cause problems. The reason is that many transactions of TEM delegate work to the central appraisal component and there the swith to MBO functionality is done (in the case X, T and A).
It is however possible to use MBO functionality for personnel appraisals. The transactions of MBO have to be used 'directly'.
These transactions are not part of the menu but can be added to the favorites list.

There is no recommended way to load historical appraisal data. You will have to write a customer-specific program for this purpose.
It depends on your specific requirements whether you really need the data in R/3. For example, if you need the data for reporting, it may be easier to load the legacy data directly into BW. If you need them for program logic, e.g. to default values for new appraisals, you could consider loading the data into a customer table and read that table in your implementation of an appropriate user exit.
Hope this help

    Dear Expert,
    I took the follwoing steps
    1. In the customization i use the subcomponent Appraisal Systems, this corresponds to the switch position <SPACE>.
    2. in the portal content i create a new iview using template BSP based view, i gave the BSP application name : HAP_Document and start page name : Documents_todo.htm (for create purpose) , Documents_recieved_open (for display purpose)
    3. in the customization i define the Iview path .
then execute the system , in the case of creation system showing new appraisal templates and in the case of view system is not showing the appraisals against employees .

  • Error -17600 when switching from LabVIEW Development System to LabVIEW Run-Time Engine in Adapter Configuration

I receive an error message (code -17600) while loading my test sequence after switching from LabVIEW Development System (2009 f3) to LabVIEW Run-TIme Engine using the Adapter Configuration.
    ErrorCode: -17600,
Failed to load a required step's associated module.
    LabVIEW Run-Time Engine version 9.0.1f3.
When I switch back to the LV development system, everything is OK, and the sequence loads and runs perfectly.
My TestStand Engine Version is 2012 f1 (5.0.0.262).
I'd appreciate any help on this issue.

    Hi Roman,
There are a couple of things you can try:
    1) Determine if the LabVIEW RunTime Engine is corrupted in some way. Create a new simple VI with no sub-VIs, using the same LabVIEW Development system you used for mass-compiling the VIs. Create a TestStand step that calls this VI and ensure it runs correctly. Now switch your LabVIEW adapter to use the RuntimeEngine and choose the "Auto detect using VI version" option.
Check if the simple VI is loadable and runs without errors in TestStand.
If the step generates the same error, you should try a re-install of the LabVIEW development system.
If not, its most likely that there is some VI you are using that is not loadable in the LabVIEW Runtime Engine because:
    1) Some sub-VI is still not saved in the right version or bitness. Open the VI heirarchy of the top-level VI that you are calling from TestStand and examine the paths of all the sub-VIs to check if they were in the folder you masscompiled and re-save any that are outside this directory.
Also, when you try to close the top level VI, do you get a prompt to save any unsaved files? If so, they could be the sub-VIs that are not saved in the right version. Save all of them.
Check if you are loading any VIs programatically and if these are compiled and saved in the right version as well.
    2) There is some feature you are using in your LabVIEW code that is not supported in the LabVIEW RunTime Engine. To check this, add your top-level VI to a LabVIEW project and create a new build specification and create a new executable from this VI.
Right-click "Build Specifications" and choose "New->Application(EXE)".
In the Application Properties window, select Source Files and choose the top level VI as the start-up VI.
        Save the properties.
Right-click on the newly created build specification and choose Build.
Run this executable (it will be run using the LabVIEW RunTime) and check if the VI has a broken arrow indicating that it cannot be loaded and run in the LabVIEW Runtime Engine.
You might need to examine your code and find the feature which is not supported in the LabVIEW RunTime and find an alternative.
Another thing i forgot to mention the last time around is if you are using 64-bit LabVIEW with 32-bit TestStand, then executing code using LabVIEW RTE from TestStand will not work since the 64-bit LabVIEW RTE dll cannot be loaded by the 32-bit TestStand process.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider sharing your LabVIEW code so i can take a look.

  • Old Appraisal System (SAP R/3 4.7 ITS) upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0, Ehp4

    Hello experts,
We are currently on SAP R/3 4.7 (using ITS) and will be upgrading to ECC 6.0, Ehp4 (using Netweaver Portal). This upgrade will be purely technical, no changes to existing talent modules.
Our employee performance appraisals are currently accessed via ITS using the Old Appraisal System. Can you tell me if it is even possible to link the old appraisal system to the NW portal?
If yes, what kind of changes are required here? Which iviews will I need to activate?
All of your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
    Dina

    hi,
THe old appraisal system runs on ITS , true .
In the new ECC 6 , there is a built in ITS , which should allow you to still run the old services . But it makes sense to explore the newer functionalites offered in EHP4.

  • Archiving Information from "old" SAP systems and switch off the server

    Good day
I hope someone can offer some advice. Our company has a few sites across the globe. Three of the sites in South Africa ( where I'm working at the moment ) had their own SAP systems. Three odd years ago, we implementeted a new SAP system, combining the separate SAP systems into the new one, running of the same box etc etc. The "old" SAP systems were still availbale after the new one went live, in the event that people want to look back at history.
We are you busy with a project where we are going to merge our current SAP implementation into our global SAP system... obviously only the current master data are going to be transfered to the new system. It's an idea time for us to clean up our data.
My question: Once we go live on our global SAP system, we want to "export" or archive from the 3 "old" SAP systems the Master Data from the HR module ( like employees who's left the company - it's law to keep the records for 5 years at least once a employee has left) , HSEC and FI modules into a single datastore... this way we don't have to keep the three servers running in the event that history is required. The servers wil be kept off-line and only switched back on if a detailed audit is required.
The global SAP system does not have an archive solution implemented to we can't access archived data from the new system...
So, we need to export master data from our 3 old SAP boxes into a Unicode type file system, and our local South African sites needs to be able to access the information using a text type editor or a web based interface we can run off our SAP Portal...
    Thank you

    Hello Cornelius,
To introduce myself, I am an active SDN/BPX member as well as an ASUG Archiving and Information Lifecycle Management Volunteer.
Decommissioning Legacy Systems (SAP and non-SAP systems) is quite the topic these days with divestitures becoming such a common occurrence.
Some things to think about in this situation are:
Identifying the data to be decommissioned:
what information would be needed for an audit
what information would be needed for a lawsuit situation
Identifying the access requirements to this data.
Identifying the retention policies for this data (this will be
    driven by regulatory requirements, etc.).
If this has not already been done - define retention periods for this data - it will most likely have different retention periods based on the type of data.
You mention that you do not have an archive solution in place yet.
I would recommend that you may want to research that option because typical requirements for retaining legacy data is that it is stored in such a manner so that it is protected from any type of modification.
There are a lot of 3rd party archiving/storage solutions that provide this type of secure storage.
You are correct in that you will want to export or archive the legacy data as opposed to loading the data into your current system.  It would probably involve a large increase in the size of your SAP database and you would probably run into number range overlaps.
But, if this data is exported to a filesystem, you will be losing the business logic associated with the data, and the information is no longer in its original format (this could have legal ramifications).
I would recommend using SAP Archiving functionality for this effort.  If you are looking for outside resources, there are many vendors out there that have a lot of experience with these types of projects.
Two that come to mind are Dolphin IT and OpenText.
Or, depending on the timeline of your project, SAP is coming out with a tool that can be used for decommissioning SAP Systems.  It is part of
their SAP ILM solution.  It will be called Retention Warehouse.  Here is a paragraph from their latest white paper describing this new tool:
With the retention warehouse, SAP now offers a
standardized method for system decommissioning in
answer to these pressing issues. It allows you to reuse the archived data outside the original system in a central
    retention warehouse.
For more detail on this topic, the white paper can be found on the SAP ILM Website:
    service.sap.com/ilm
This tool is part of a larger initiative from SAP to help customers with their ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) strategy.  This tool is near and dear to me as I was fortunate enough to be part of an
ASUG Influence Council that helped with some of the requirements for this solution.
I hope this information is useful.
    Good luck and Best Regards,

  • Is it possible to switch from Office 365 online user management to Active Directory after Exchange online migration?

If we utilize the Cutover method to migrate from on-premise Exchange (2007) to Office 365, which to my understanding will hand over user management/authentication to Office 365 online during the process, is possible to later switch from Office 365 user management
to Active Directory (synced to a future local domain, or even possibly via AD federation single sign-on)? If so, how difficult is this process and is there any documentation available?
Asking this because the organization  I'm working for plans to upgrade (re-do actually) its entire infrastructure. There will be a completely brand new domain/AD set up that's totally unrelated to the old one. At the same time, we also plan to migrate
all emails (previously hosted locally on Exchange 2007) to Office 365 and get rid of local exchange. Now because we will set up new domain, we do not want to carry over the older AD to the cloud, hence we will not use the "Staged Migration".
So the plan is to to use "Cutover" migration first, which means all authentications will become Office 365 managed. That's fine for now. But later, after we set up our new domain and AD controller etc, we'd like to have Exchange Online switch back
to syncing with our new on-premise AD. We'd also like to consider the AD Federation Services if it's not too complicated to set up.
Your advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

In principle, you cannot sync back from the cloud AD to the on-prem, yet. But you can take advantage of the soft-matching mechanism once you have the new AD in place:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2641663
Be careful though, as the moment you turn on Dirsync, all the matching users in the cloud will have their attributes overwritten. A very good idea is to do an 'export' of the cloud AD first, using the WAAD module for PowerShell and the Get-MsolUser cmdlets,
which you can then use to compare or import data in the new on-prem AD. Some links:

The link Kappy posted should give you peace of mind. I can tell you from personal experience that both the Canon EOS 550D and the Nikon D90 work seamlessly with OS X (10.6.4).
You can use iPhoto, Image Capture or Adobe Bridge CS4 to import and organise your photos. I would definitely recommend Bridge over the others, but Image Capture (pre-installed on all versions of OS X) is surprisingly good and offers a range of features.
    Enjoy your shiny new Mac!

  • Can't switch from old Blackberry 8703e to new 8530

I installed the Blackberry Desktop Software.  I connected the 8703e and the 8530 and tried to switch.  The 8530 will shut off during the switch process.  Then I get a fatal error from the BDS.  Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong.  Is it because one is sooo old and one is soooo new?  Thanks.

I don't think the replacement process will be any more complicated than you expect. However, if you want to keep your old Time Machine backup files, you'll have to move them from the old Time Capsule to the new. The current advice seems to be that this is best done by copying the backup image(s) from the old Time Capsule to an external disk, then copying from the external disk to the new Time Capsule. As far as the best way to perform the copying, I believe I saw a recommendation to use Disk Utility's "restore" function.

  • AGP card switch from old G5 to later G5 - Will it work?

I have a reconditioned G5 from 2005 that I picked up to replace by old crashed and burned G5 from 2003 or so
but it didn't come with a graphics card
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE with 128MB of GDDR SDRAM
So I was wondering if i took (cannibalized) the graphics card from my earlier G5 would it work in my later G5?
    Anybody ever done that?
But probably I'll have to buy one. Anybody know where I can order G5 graphic cards?
    thanks

    Hi Ben,
Is it a late or early 2005 G5, the Late ones use PCIe graphics cards like the GeForce 6600 LE & have no AGP slot.
I'm no expert on FCP, but I wonder if it has a pref file from the old G5 that had an AGP card & stored that info in the pref file?
But then again, one of the System Requirements says AGP...

I switched my files(saved an external HD) to my new iTunes library, but my playlists are gone. How do I get them back? If I plug in my iPod, can I get them back that way, or will they vanish when the iPod syncs?

No need to be rude and clog up the forums with needless duplicate posts.
Stick with one post unelss it's a different topic. That is standard forum etiquette across the internet, not just here.
The information is obviously there, why wouldn't it be able to be transferred?
Apple has not stated why they designed iTunes like they did.
I switched my files(saved an external HD) to my new iTunes library, but my playlists are gone. How do I get them back?
Would you explain exactly, in detail, what you "switched"?
Do you still have access to the old computer?
I downloaded iTunes to the new computer. I wanted to be able to access my files, and I was told, in a diff. topic, that one way to do that was to open iTunes and drag and drop the library file into the open iTunes window. I did this.
I have access to the old computer, but it's badly malfuntioning. Even if I can get it turned on and get access to the files, I'm worried that any files I take from the old HD will infect the new comp with whatever the old comp was infected with.
As for the playlists--couldn't I just use the On The Go function(i.e. make OTG playlists out of everything on the iPods, and just retitle once I plug into the comp?)?

  • Switching from old AE to new version: process

    Hi all;
I'm about to replace my older AE (spaceship, 802.11g) with a newer AE (square, power-adaptor shape, model# A1264).
I have an existing network and am hoping (oh, how I'm hoping) that the network will simply find/use the new AE and go on happily.
    Just want to check:
    1) I have an existing network now. If I simply unplug the older AE, and plug in the new AE and connect it to the modem,
the manual indicates that I will just need to go to Airport Utility and select it, and my existing network will then use the new AE.
Is this all I'll need to do? Seems too easy?
    2) The "new" AE was previously owned. I've held done the reset button for 20 sec or so.
Adequate to erase any/all old info on it?
Sorry for simplicity of questions, but I'm just hoping to forestall any problems, so please let me know
if there are any other issues, that anyone has encountered.

When changing ISPs (or networking equipment) it's always a good idea to start from "scratch" in configuring your equipment. Also because, you have picked up a "previously owned" device, this would also be a good idea.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.
The other thing to take into consideration is that you can export the current configuration profile of your existing AirPort, and then, import it into the new one. Some setting will need to still be changed as the new router will some different or new features, but this would work as well. However, in the long run, I think if you start with the factory default reset, you can save yourself any additional trouble with the setup ... and start from a "clean slate."
