Switching language for "Spelling while you type" feature

In the Swedish help pages (could not find in english version) it clearly states that you should go the the "text inspector", choose "more" and change language. There is no "more" tab in the text inspector for keynote, it is in pages. Please fix this!
I do presentations in both swedish and english, I need this feature bad!!!

In Keynote and other other apps the spelling feature is in Edit > Spelling and Grammar. Only in Pages is it in the Inspector.

I am looking for a "lookup while you type" feature for dashboard prompts in OBIEE 11g. The feature should let the user type in the search term for a filter/dimension and should suggest all possible values based on the partial search term the user is typing. Can I switch languages for spelling in Pages

I am writing a French document in Pages and everything is underlined in red or green. Can I switch languages to get the corrections in French?

I actually have the same problem here. I wrote 20 pages in French and want to spell check it. When I select all and change the langage option in the inspector, it stills spell check it in english, and changes to "option tab" back in english.

I unchecked "Check spelling as you type" but Firefox still underlines words in cut-and-pasted text in some web apps. How can I stop it from doing this?

I'm using an online web mapping application that has input boxes for descriptive text and stuff like that. Sometimes I copy blocks of text from a word processing app into these input boxes because I can format the text in the wp. When I paste the text blocks, Firefox does the wiggly red underline on words it doesn't know. I've already turned off "check spelling as you type" but this doesn't make a difference. I don't want Firefox to check spelling on these text blocks that I copy and paste. Sometimes I need to capture screen images of these text blocks in the mapping application and I want them to look clean. Thanks.

Does "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a tick when this happens?
You can consider to disable the spell check underline by setting the ui.SpellCheckerUnderlineStyle pref to 0 (zero) on the <b>about:config</b> page.

Check spelling as you type + pasted text.

With the "Check spelling as you type" enabled, if you were to copy some text from another window / application and paste into a "new message" window, the spell checker does not check it.
Originally this was not a problem as pressing "Command + ;" (semi-colon) would search forward for the errors - but this does not seem to work in Mail v2.
The only solution I have found so far is to press "Alt + Right Arrow" to move between the words.

Look at this a little more, it seems that the
Edit > Spelling > Check Spelling
menu item is disabled... I presume this needs to be enabled for it to work like it used to (skip to the next word which is incorrectly spelt)

General failure -the browser fails to perform especially after computer has been left switched on for a while.

After the computer has been switched on for a while and I try to access the internet - it fails to do so and the message I get is : -General Failure - followed up by the specific address/site which it cannot open. This is happening with increasing frequency especially when I try to open email links etc. I then switch off the computer and after a few minutes or even half and hour, i reboot and it then becomes possible to open whatever was not possible before. This is quite irritating however.

Thank you for the suggestion and having tried it with other browsers, I can now confirm that it only happens with FF. I like FF a lot and hate to bother with other browsers but it I have to, I will most reluctantly abandon it.
By the way, having downloaded 36 of your recommended ADD-ONS, I had to get rid of them(uninstall). They not only cluttered up the start-up page but noticeably slowed down the computer. ( I left about half a dozen). Moreover, what is the point of them unless there is an icon or a button that I can click on for instant access to an ADD_ON. Instead I had to search hard to access the ones that I wanted and even then was unable to engage them. For example, I download clocks and a currency converter but was unable to use them.

Now the user wants the search-as-u-type feature included.As we know whatever he types
in textbox , if available in grid should move right on top & that shoud keep happening...the problem is
that designing this thru java code is not easy.Because the iteration takes time & the way windows or other
help search-as-u-type features work is very fast.How do i achieve the same result.
Do i find a way out for this or is there another component which we cud use in java

do i achieve the same result.If you've got a massive amount of data, sure, java will probably be slow. But generally Java can handle this almost as fast as native C++ code, and your problem is probably that you just haven't implemented this right.

My ipad 2 will cut off completely if not being used for a while. you have to hold power button to power up everytime. anyone else having this problem? thanks

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.

if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

How do you switch language for iMovie?

After installing new version of iMovie, I noticed I chose my home country instead of USA, so that the language is not English but I want subtitles in my movies such as trailers to be English. How do you switch the language? Is there any way that I can install it again without any cost?

the iApps come multi-lingual and should use the language your System is set to ...

When BENGALI is chosen as language in GOOGLE Home page and as a language for transliteration while e-mailing, the font is unreadable. How can i sort it?

In the language option, although BANGALI is there, but it could not be used.Whenever bengali is choosen ,the font become unreadable

Controlling language for spelling check in Keynote on iPad

Hello,
I use Keynote on my iPad. The iPad is configured to use Russian UI. However, I would like to create a presentation in English. The spellchecker marks every English word as misspelled.
I could not find any way to tell the spellchecker to use English. I don't want to revert to the overall English UI on the iPad.
Any ideas on what can be done?

Key command for switching languages for 10.9 maverick

I was wondering if there is a keyboard short cut to swtich language input of the keyboard than manually clicking to swtich language. I'm an English user, but sometimes use korean keyboard. when i'm doing langauge study, it's tedious and annoying ot swtich back and forth for language studies.
i tried to look in keyboard --> shortcuts but don't see that option nor understand how you can manually set up that short cut like in windows. if someone knows or figure out how I appreciate it if you can give me clear instruction to do that.

Blackberry 8520 Doesnt show what you are texting while you type in bbm sometimes HELP!

This is for my boyfriend whose blackberry curve 8520 from t-mobile at times does not show what he is typing in the bbm message area. Does anyone know what it could be or if it has happened to them too?

InDesign CS5.5 doesn't honor original Language (for spelling)

I'm using InDesign CS5.5 and always import .DOC and .RTF files. The default language in the "character" tab is Spanish. So is the default paragraph style. However, most of the times I import these files they are placed with English, Estonian, Croatian, etc., etc., etc. I have to change it almost in 90% of the files I place. And if I place the same file more than one time, it get placed with different languages every time. I've cheked the original .DOC and RTF files and are in Spanish dictionary.
Is that a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

InDesign CS55 / Windows XP

I also override all styles when applying. The only thing, so far, that doesn't work is the language.
I placed that file into CS5.5 and it comes in with English in the Normal style. The Normal style in Word is also defined as English. Something is very wrong, here. You can define the language in the InDesign paragraph style, so if you clear the overrides then it must-by-definition have the language you specified. You say it's not, so something is wrong with either your INDD files or your install of InDesign. I don't see any of the funky language-redefinition behavior when I place your Word file into ID. The Normal style declares it to be English - I clear overrides and the text gets marked with English.
If this happens to you in a new InDesign file, I'd say that you should try replacing your preferences, reinstalling, that kind of thing. If you are working with templates or re-using INDDs, you may try exporting to IDML and re-opening in CS5.5.

Disabling Spotlight menu's "live" search-as-you-type feature

I do not like that Spotlight begins a search before I have finished telling it what to find. The "live" searching is slow and generally annoying. How do I prohibit Spotlight from executing a new or revised search with every new character typed?
This has been bugging me since Tiger. I have scoured the web for a solution, but I have found only ways to deal with the problem--not solve it. I could use LaserLight or simply type the search query into any other text field and then copy/paste it into the Spotlight search field. Or I could use a different application entirely to do my searching.
Suggestions?
