Switching language pref in iPad using wireless keyboard

The Apple Bluetooth wireless keyboard has no globe icon. Is there some shortcut I can use to switch languages (i.e., change the keyboard) when the wireless keyboard is connected to my iPad Air? I have several languages entered in Settings, so using the screen keyboard I can switch in a few seconds. Do I have to go into Settings and change the language there in order to use this feature when I'm on the wireless keyboard?

When I try your solution, I can indeed get Greek, but it is modern Greek, not Ancient/Attic--thus the accent and breathing marks are not part of the keyboard. Is there a way to download or access the Polytonic Greek keyboard?
Under iOS 7 and earlier, there were separate settings for Hardware keyboards, where you could specify Polytonic Greek.  But these are gone in iOS 8, and I don't know whether there is any way to make it work.
For screen typing, you might try the app Keyman Pro, which I think has a polytonic greek keyboard.

  • IPad and wireless keyboard do not pair any more

I always had (minor) problems, wehn vonnecting iPad and keyboard. But now iPad and wireless keyboard do not pair at all. Tried 15-20 times, fresh batteries, switched on an off, tried manually - nothing. I noticed that the green LED of the keyboard shines just for about 3 seconds when I switch on - but this has always been like that before. Latest OS of course. Who can help, please?

  • Using wireless keyboard with Apple TV

So why don't they make things easy and somehow add a firmware upgrade that allows you to use your wireless keyboard when making searches on the Apple TV. Every new owner of an iMac has one! This would be a great improvement over the hunt and pick that the remote gives you. Even Sony's playstation 3 has a remote keypad available as an option.

as others have said.. if you have an iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone you can use the remote app to type text fort the appleTV in a tiny package... and navigate your appleTV (don't have to use the remote at all) and surf the net and check email, twitter etc, etc without annoying everyone else in the house that just wants to watch the movie or TV show... and if you want to share something with someone on the big screen you can use airplay to transfer the video to the big screen.. next iOS update adds API for developers of 3rd party apps to add the ability to show video or audio on the big screen.. this direction seems to make WAY more sense to me than the google direction that seems to serve to mainly annoy your family..

  • Having trouble linking iPad to wireless keyboard

My wireless keyboard won't connect with my iPad!  Any suggestions?

You need to make sure that Bluetooth is activated in your iPad. It takes some times for the 2 to pair after that ... Assuming you have the Alu Keyboard and not the older White wireless keyboard (which does not work)

  • IPad and Wireless Keyboard

Trying to connect my (newer) Apple wireless keyboard to my iPad and it doesn't seem to recognize it. When I turn on bluetooth on the iPad it just keeps searching but not finding the keyboard (sitting right next to it).

Are you holding the power button down on the keyboard until it blinks? You need to do this to put it in 'discoverable' mode.

How do you navigate between the cells in a table while using the wireless keyboard.  I am finding I have to click on each cell and then type. The tab key doesn't move to th next cell.  Can anyone help?

  • IPad and wireless keyboard won't go to sleep

I just got my iPad, and it's working great. But I'm a little confused about sleep mode.
When I pull my MagicCover across the screen, does it automatically go to sleep? And it should automatically wake up when I remove the MagicCover, right?
In fact, my iPad continued playing music after I covered it with the MagicCover. I don't know if that's a "native" function, as I had turned the mucic on with my wireless keyboard. But I thought the MagicCover would kill all the processes.
Another time, I turned the music off, but the iPad continued to drain the battery after I covered it with the MagicCover...at least, I think so. I need to do a couple more checks.
Also, it seems like every time I turn my wireless keyboard off to save my batteries, it somehow comes back on. Is there anything that could cause that, other than the on button getting pushed while I'm carrying the keyboard in my luggage? Maybe I need to make some sort of right carrying case that protects the on/off button - or just take the batteries out?
    Thanks.

Oops...I just discovered this is covered in the iPad tutorial. Sorry.

  • Using wireless keyboard

When using the wireless keyboard, is there a keypress to "SEND" a text message?
The "enter/return" key acts as a return and does not activate the send.

I was hoping that there would be a "fn", "control", "option" or "command" + {key} combination that would SEND the message. Seems like a rather obvious lack of functionality? Not all that big of a deal, but more of a nuisance...

  • Problems using Wireless keyboard on WinXP.

When booting XP from BootCamp, XP do connect to the keyboard, but it does not work. I can see it's connected in the BT settings. (No Passkey - Connected)
If I then power the keyboard off and on again, it work after about 5 sec. but the vol. up/down mute and eject keys does not work.
Restarting my iMac from windows, and then booting back to OSX, the keyboard takes some time to connect.
When using the keyboard only in OSX there is no problems. The problem is only when booting to XP.
Using a wired keyboard every thing is just fine, so it have to be a problem with the wireless keyboard.
Any ideas how to solve my problem ?

Just an idea for you. There is an entire Apple Discussion forum dedicated to Boot Camp and Windows XP.
Whereas, not everyone here with an Intel iMac has installed, tried to install or has experience with BC & XP, everyone there has or at least has an interest. You may attract help more quickly there.
The Forum is at the bottom of the main Apple Discussions page under Windows Compatible Technology.

    1. disconnect all external devices, except keyboard and mouse

The apple hardware chooser should appear next.
When I do these steps it goes right to my desktop every time. I am running a mac wireless keyboard and mac mighty mouse.

    Hi,
It can take a few minutes for the AHT to appear after booting, D key, etc:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509
Try shutting down your iMac, reboot and THEN do the AHT.
Are you able to boot from the restore disk?
    To check the hard disk:
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the Menu Bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click the Verify button. If DU reports errors, click Repair. When it's finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
