Switching off Random P

I've a Zen V Plus which when I first started using I set on DJ Random play which is great? when I'm just using it to have background music on and therefore not fussed what plays next, however if I want to listen to a particular album it still plays in a? random order rather than by track. Anybody any idea how to switch off random play? Thanks

You may need to reconfigure your menus to get access to the 'Play Mode' menu.
Go System->Player Settings->Configure Menu
You will get a tick list. Make sure the Play Mode is ticked.
Now press the Back key repeatedly until back at the top level menu.
Select 'Play Mode' and choose Normal.

  • HT1430 my iphone 4 stopped working suddenly....i held the on button and the home button at the same time and it cam on...is this a fault as i cant have my phone switching off randomly?

my iphone 4 stopped working suddenly....it wouldnt charge or anything...i was told to push the on button and the home button at the same time and it came back on.
is this a fault with the iphone????
i cant have my phone switching off randomly...any help please...thankyou.

sometimes it happens, a hard reset will sometimes solve the issue.
If the issue starts happening more often, I would consider restoring the device to factory settings to install clean software. If the issue still persists after that, the device might need a hardware repair.

  • My Iphone 3gs Os 4.3.5 switch off randomly and it wont switch on untill you plug it!!

Since the update for IOS 4 (it could be not related as well) and my iPhone 3gs is switching off randomly
    - it may switch off while using any application (Mail, Camera, photos, facebook...etc)
    - when you switch on it stays on apple logo until it crush down again,
    - sometimes if you try to switch it on again, it give battery low even though the battery could be full
    - the only way to switch it on again is to plug it into any power source (PC or wall)
    - I'm using the latest version (4.3.5) since i have hope in every released update
if you need any details please ask for it

Honestly I replaced the phone battery with a battery from the local market (I don't even know if its original or not) but it cost me around 50$, and it worked perfectly since then.
so its either the battery is not compatible with IOS 4 or its simply dead!
    best of luck with yours...

  • N200 switches off randomly, during boot time and when moved.

    Hello everyone,
My 3000 N200 TYPE: 0769-AG2 laptop started to switch off randomly especially when booting, when I moved the machine (i.e.. from one desk to another) or when I pressed gently the bottom left side over the PCI slot.
The situation has gotten worse. I cannot use it anymore due to the frequency of the symptoms.
    Actions I have taken:
Operated with AC adapter with and without battery or battery alone.
Cleaned the fan and heat sink.
    Replaced the processor's thermal paste.
    Monitored the temperature using software.
Formatted the hard disk and reinstalled the preloaded Vista Windows.
    Reinstalled the BIOS driver.
Removed one of the RAM memories and swapped places.
    Removed the hard disk.
    Removed the optical disk drive.
Operated in Safe Mode with and without network support.
    Switched off the wifi button.
Excluded through BIOS the PCI LAN and IDE ODD from boot order. Also disabled internal Modem.
And finally, I contacted the UK support where they just suspected a motherboard problem.
None of the actions taken seem to solve the problem permanently. In some cases it worked for quite a while probably due to pure chance.
    Remarks:
My machine is out of warranty, yet it is in an excellent cosmetic condition. I only have it for home use. I have never dropped it, smacked it, spilt liquid on it or operated under any abnormal conditions such as on a blanket or a highly humid environment.
*Two of my friends that have the same model face the same exact problem.
*Hundreds of people on the web complain about the same problem with the particular product.
Could it be a motherboard problem? If yes, why did that happen to me and to two persons I know personally?
A motherboard replacement is very expensive relatively to the total value of the product. What could a feasible solution be?
Thank you for your time reading through my issue.

    intrasonik,
It sounds like you have taken great care of your system and approached the problem systematically.
I'm going to assume this is not a thermal issue since you have cleaned the fan (and verified it is running) along with replacing the thermal grease.  The randomness seems to suggest it is probably not thermal as well.
That the shutdowns may seem to be triggered by movement or pressure in a certain area of the system could suggest an issue with the contacts at the battery or AC, or a short in the system board.
Without doing a repair and some analysis, it would be hard to say with complete confidence.
I agree that the replacement systemboard through service could be perhaps somewhat expensive compared to the cost of new systems with 4 year newer technology.   You might consult the hardware maintenance manual on our support site
for part number and proceedure on replacing the system board.  You could search online for the best price by the FRU number and I would imagine, could find a reasonably priced board and swap it out.
The service training videos on this system are available here and may also be helpful to you.
    Best regards,

  • Laptop switches off randomly and won't start up

    6 down vote favorite2
My problem is that my laptop suddenly and randomly switches off on its own. There is no blue screen, no error messages, the pc just goes off as though somebody pressed the power button. It might happen anytime from within 5-10 mins of starting up, to maybe an hour or two later. Sometimes it works perfectly fine and never turns off. And once it shuts itself off, i can't power it back on. If i press the power button to start the laptop, it turns off again in about 2 seconds before even the POST can start. If i  remove and replace the battery and try again later or shake up the CD drive and fan a bit and retry, it might boot up again and run for some random period of time before the same story repeats.
    plz help
    thanks in advance..

thanx man! but sometimes it works fine like now... but if i shut it down it will repeat the story for several minutes

  • MacBook switches off randomly even when connected to mains without battery

Hey, i've had a MacBook for nearly 16 months now and it's always worked ok but recently every time i switch it on, about 1-5 minutes later it will just die and switch off! If i try to switch it on after this it just keeps dying. The only way to get it on and working again, is to hold down the power button until the sleep light flickers and i here a short continuous beep. After this it works fine although the fan runs for the most time on use. I thought this might be a battery problem but i've removed the battery and just run the macbook from the mains and it still switches off in this first period. If anyone knows the source of the problem or could point me in the direction of a relevant post that could help, it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks, Ashley.

I suggest you upgrade your software. Tiger is at 10.4.11 now and a lot of stuff has been fixed since 10.4.06

  • Switching Off Randomly

I have been reading the many pages of problems people have been having with their MBP's shutting down on them, and I am having the same trouble. It has only started happening in the past week though and only when I'm running off the battery, not when I'm plugged in to the mains.
I haven't come across this particular problem though...After it shuts down (no warning, just goes black, fans spin down, basically dies) I can't even reboot it by pressing the power button. When I turn it over and press the button to check the battery charge by looking at the little green lights, nothing happens. I have to plug in my power cord to the mains before it will come on again. Also I have noticed that when I plug my magsafe adapter into my MBP the little indicator light glows orange, then green for a couple of seconds, before going back to orange. Only then can I switch on.
And when it has rebooted, the battery charge indicator in my menu bar shows upwards of 50 hours until fully charged! This number does go down after a while and it takes the usual time to charge. But this only started happening at the same time as my random swith offs, so I thought I'd mention it.
This happens when I have plenty of charge left in the battery. I have a full charge capacity of 5409 with 207 cycles. My health is at around 85% according to iStat Pro. I recalibrated it 2 days ago and getting the same problem.
I have also downloaded the battery update and no change
Anyone else had this happen to them? It's a pain now as I can't take my laptop to clients without being close to an electrical outlet. I bought it in July last year. I have noticed a slight distortion in the battery case when it is fitted to the laptop.
Am I right in thinking that I should be covered for a replacement battery under the 2 year agreement?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

RE: +can a replacement battery be sent to me via Apple?+
A reasonable question, the answer is yes. You call AppleCare, there are prompts for battery problems that will get you to someone who can help. They will ask for a credit card number, and send you a new battery. You return the battery to the (Apple pays the return shipping) and as long as they get the old battery back they don't charge your credit card.
    Give them a call!

  • MY IPAD SWITCHED OFF RANDOMLY AND NOW WONT RESTORE! HELLLLLLLP

MY IPAD WONT RESTORE AND I HAVE TRIED EVERYHING POSSIBLE AND I CANT EVEN CONTACT APPLE ABOUT IT OR GO TO AN APPLE STORE! HELPPPPPP PLEASE

What things have you actually tried? Saying Everything Possible doesn't help us at all. is the battery charged? What happens when you tried to restore the iPad? Did you get any error messages? If so what were they? Did you try a reset?
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.

  • Is it safe to just switch off tv at wall socket?

My wife has a habit of switching everything off at the wall socket. So if I get an tv, it will be switched off randomly at the wall.
Is this safe to do? is there a standby button on the tv? how do you switch it off? I dont want here just switching it off at wall socket when its in the middle of reading/writing to HDD as surely this will damage it?
    cheers

how can stopping a hard drive without 1st preparing it to be stopped ever be healthy for a device? how can increasing the possibility of interrupting data transfers in the middle of a transfer and increasing the possibility of corrupting data ever be a good thing?
the OP said that the power could be yanked at any old time.. i can't understand how you can say that would be a good thing for an appleTV.
i also run mine 24/7 and my device is solid as a rock.. i restart mine only by doing the press and hold menu + down button and since i stopped unplugging and re-plugging to restart it's stability has gone up markedly..
i would say to the OP.. if the power is going to be pulled in any case.. what you might want to do is press menu on the iPod Touch or appleTV remote for about 10 seconds after you're done with it to make sure it's at the main menu and lessen the chance it's doing anything of significants at the moment the power goes out. you are still likely reducing the life of the hard drive by constantly turning it off and on.. hard drives are designed to run constantly all the time.. spinning them up and down only reduces their lifespan.
