This set of instructions is 'buried' in the Help Center at Google:
How do I export my Google Calendar data?
To export Google Calendar content, just follow these steps:
1. Under "Calendars" in the left column, click on the down-arrow button next to the appropriate calendar, then select "Calendar settings." (Alternatively, click on "Manage Calendars" under "Calendars" in the left column, then click on the name of the appropriate calendar.)
2. Click on the "ICAL" button under "Private Address" and click on the displayed URL.
3. Save the exported file to the desired folder on your computer.
4. Following the instruction on the calendar application of your choice, import the file you exported from Google Calendar to the calendar application.

  • Switching, quick question about garageband

ive used garageband before so i know some basics but one thing i never tried or thought of was editing mp3s or mp4as.
could i open an existing song from my library and add layers to it, beats and all that stuff to in a way "remix" the song?

If the song isn't purchased from the iTunes store, and is either MP3 or AIFF (I don't know the answer to MP4 or AAC, never tried them) you can drag it into GB.
The adding of beats can be difficult if a) you don't know the BPM (beats per minute), b) have a song not recorded with a click track and therefore has shaky rhythm, and c) is just a poor recording to begin with. There are probably more reasons not to, but what the hay, go for it. The worst thing that could happen is it doesn't quite work out the way you planned.

  • Can I sync my iCal calendar to my husband's Google Calendar?

I have read many discussions about this here and on other forums, but can't find an answer that works for what I'm trying to do.
I use iMac, iPhone and iPad and keep track of our family's many activities on 3 iCal calendars (so I can use the different colors to track what each kid is doing.) I would like my husband to be able to view and modify these calendars.  He is on an Android device, uses Google Mail and a PC.
I can easily sync his Google calendar to my iCal using advice from this Google forum (http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=151674).  I cannot figure out how he can sync my calendar to his Google calendar.
I have exported my iCal calendar and he has imported it into Google calendar just fine, but it is a static picture of the calendar when I export it so doesn't really help keep him up to date.
I have shared the calendar per the link by Roger Wilmut1 (link: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a9479) on this  discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4599543?start=0&tstart=0.  However iCloud is requesting an iCloud account from him to "Join" the calendar in Google calendars.
If he set up an iCloud account (how??  I don't know) could he then access my iCal and sync it into his Google calendar?
I'm trying to figure out if I should just give up on iCal and switch to a Google calendar.  It is working so nicely right now with my iPhone and iPad I would love to just keep using iCal if possible.  Most of the advice I have seen describes how I can link to his Google calendar (done, but not what I want to do) or says I should move to Google Calendar and stop using iCal.
Would appreciate any solutions you might offer.

I've been using iCloud since it's inception as "mac.com" or whatever it was called. I've been able to Sync Outlook Exchange Calenars to my iMac, iPhone and iPad. However, I cannot get iCal (when viewed in iCloud) to display Exchange or Google Calender items.
It's odd, all other Mac versions of iCal are happy e.g. iMac, MacBook Air, iPad Air, iPhone etc. But nothing when I login to icloud.com and look at the iCal there.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.
This is a picture of what it looks like now:

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".
any way to get around that?

  • I want to switch FROM iCloud to Google Calendar

So, I've discovered that I'm not terribly fond of the iCloud calendar.  I used the MobileMe calendar for forever, but with the switch to iCloud, I'm just done.  My work uses Google calendar, so I want to switch to that, but I don't want to have to re-input all of my appointments/meetings.  Is there a way to sync my iCloud calendar with Google-- even just on a one time basis?  I see lots of posts regarding going the other way, but not leaving iCloud.  I will continue to use iCloud for email-- I just want to switch the calendar.  Also, I don't want to use iCal, but Google's GooCal instead.
Oh, BTW, I don't know if it matters, but I have an iMac, an iPhone, and iPad at home and a PowerBook at work (complete with 5 million firewalls and filters-- I work in the public schools).  I access my calendar from all of my devices-- and I need to be able to share my "home" calendar with my husband...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!!

  • When syncing multiple Google calendars to iPad, switching event to different calendar on iPad creates a duplicate in Google. Ideas?

When syncing multiple Google calendars to iPad, switching event to different Google sub-calendar using iPad creates a duplicate in Google.
Using Google account with the Exchange setup on an iPad mini. iOS up to date. I have a secondary calendar in my Google account for some appointments, and when I create the event on the iPad and it defaults to my main Google calendar, changing the event to the secondary calendar caused the following:
    1) at first, the event totally disappeared from my iPad. Scary! Reappeared when I went into Gcal on the web, opened the event to edit, and re-saved. Phew.
    2) Failing to re-create error #1, I switched a new event from primary to secondary calendar, and it then appears correct on iPad, but is duplicated on the web. The duplicate remains even after deleting the changed event on iPad, refreshing Gcal, etc.
Just curious if anyone else is having this problem or has discovered a workaround or fix.

When you open the Calendar app, tap the button at the top-left corner (Calendars).  That should reveal all the calendars you have available, and you can select/ un-select any or all of them.
If you don't see your 2nd GMail calendar listed, go into Settings/ Mail/ (account name) and make sure you've turned the calendar ON for this account.

  • Google calendar not showing in Calendar. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't. I've ticked box 'switch this calendar on'.

I've read the questions and responses about a similar problem happening for other Thunderbird users. This problem seems to have started when Google asked me to sign in after an update. Now Google Calendar will sometimes show in Thunderbird but most of the time it doesn't. I use Google calendar for all my events because that's what's on my phone. I can't seem to pick a reason why it works sometimes and other times not. Any clues? TIA

Any update to this at all? Is your client now stable?
    Cheers,

  • Can not Login to Google Calendar but if I switch to IE Rendering it seem to work fine.

When I try to login to my Google Calendar in Firefox I get and error. It says that “The page isn’t redirecting properly”. I have cookies enabled!
If I “Switch Rendering engine” to Internet Explorer I can login and update my calendar.
This is an irritation as my ID and password are not saved in the Internet Explorer rendering.
I have updated to Firefox 3.6.15

Please note that I have tried all versions since 3.6.15 and have just updated to version 5.0. This problem still exists only not it is worse. Since the IE TAB add-on was disabled for this version I actually have to open Internet Explorer... yak... to be able to view and edit my Google calendar.
This used to work in older versions of Firefox.

  • Bug: Repeating Google Calendar Events Show Up On The Wrong Days

I've created a Google Calendar event that repeats "Daily," every two days, from 6:00pm to 6:30pm. It shows up fine in my Google Calendar, but the Pre's Calendar puts them on the wrong days. For example, the repeating event that should be scheduled for today shows up tomorrow (offset by +1 day).
I tried turning off network timezones, but the bug remains.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is a bug, how can I submit it to Palm?
    Thanks!
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)
    Some new data:
If I create the repeating event on my Pre, rather than via Google, it shows up on the Pre correctly. However, it only shows up for one day via Google (today); the event is not repeated. When I edit the event in Google, it's setup correctly. I tried saving the event from there, but it doesn't cause Google to recognize it should repeat.
    Very frustrating.
    Even more new data:
Created yet another event via my Pre instead of via Google. This time Google picked up the correct repeat pattern, and my Pre now shows it on the correct days.
Calendar sync needs serious work, based on my experience. I have issues with Facebook events showing up an hour later than they should, too. Dunno if this has been fixed yet.
    New Data (01/28/2010)
Not sure why, but the above success reverted back to being off by one day; temporary success only.

Hi, another quick question: you say you turned off network timezones.... did you make sure that the (now manually set) timezone is correct?
Sounds similar to other issues related to the timezone being off, but usually the appointments were off by hours... not day(s).  However if your timezone is set to something really odd and the event you're creating is around midnight (again depends on a few things here), then MAYBE this is it.
If it isn't, one of the support guys will have to chat with you privately about possibly collecting logs, getting more granular details, etc.

  • Can't load Google Calendar in existing session tab - constantly loading/reloading/re-directing

    Please always include:
Operating system (e.g. WinXP): Win XP Pro
Program and version you use to access Google Calendar (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or Outlook 2003): Firefox (just updated this morning to 3.6.7 and it still isn't working)
Any Sync software you're using or have used (e.g. Google Calendar Sync): Not using
If you're using the non-Apps version of Google Calendar (accessing from google.com/calendar/render) or you're on Google Apps: non - Apps version
If you have any Labs (and which ones) or Offline enabled: I do have both labs (Skip to date, next available reschedule, Year view theme, probably others I don't remember), and Offline enabled
I think it has to do with both google and firefox. I have Google Calendar open in one of my many tabs that open during a session (when I load my last session) as well as other google products. This seems to have been only happening in the past few weeks (or last couple of firefox updates not sure if it is related)
The google calendar tab just stays on a white screen for me and loads and then reloads and then reloads. When I had the accessibility option selected in firefox to warn me when I site tries to redirect. I was able to click allow and it would load. That was annoying on other sites including opening links so I turned that off. I tried turning that back on and that doesn't seem to have helped so I turned it back off again.
I thought it might be helpful to show the web link as well. It looks like I am actually accessing the non-apps version
    https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=cl&passive=1209600&continue=http://www.google.com/calendar/render?tab%3Dmc&followup=http://www.google.com/calendar
At the bottom it says waiting for google.com, then switches very quickly between that and stopped, transferring in no discernible pattern.
I also tried another users suggestion and logged in to igoogle and then signed out there. That allowed me to see the login page on the calendar tab but it won't let me sign in because it is reloading/redirecting too quickly for me to get my password in.
The only way I have found it to close the existing tab that opens with the session and open it in a new tab from another google product as if I was just opening it for the first time. Then I don't have any problems. I updated my firefox today to 3.6.7 hoping that would fix the bug but it didn't so I am posting here. All of these solutions have been work around solutions and I hope that google and/or firefox can fix the issue soon.
It should be noted as well that the goggle calendar widget on the igoogle page is also having issues loading saying the following (below in italics).

  • Google Calendar to ICal to MobileMe

I've been using Google Calendar for a couple years and want to "convert" my calendars to MobileMe.
Using CalDAV, I was able to get my Google calendars (multiple ones set up) into iCal & be able to edit them, etc.
Now, I'd like to take those calendars (just imported from Google) and sync them into MobileMe.
I have two Mac's and various calendars for various reasons on both Mac's. I'd like to be able to manage them from one central spot - then tell each Mac which calendars they're 'allowed' to sync with.
For example - the business Mac will sync with the business calendars only. The personal Mac will sync everything.
    Here's the problem:
The personal calendars I just 'sync-ed' with Google won't 'upload' or sync into MobileMe.
    Help?
    Thanks!

I think the answers are partly already in your question...
MobileMe has the important limitation that you either sync all calendars, or none. So, you are not going to be able to sync some of the calendars using one MobileMe account, and the others using another account. However, I can see two workarounds:
    1) Use MobileMe to sync your work calendars, and Google to sync your personal calendars, or vice-versa.
    2) If you really want to only use MobileMe, you could create two user accounts on your personal Mac, one for each MobileMe account. Your personal user account would only have your personal calendars, and your work user account would only have your work calendars. If you still wanted to be able to display your work calendars on your personal user account, you could publish the work calendars to the work iDisk (using the procedure in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2071 to password-protect them) and subscribe to them on your personal user account. But, as you pointed out, you would not be able to edit them; you would have to switch to the work user account to make changes to the work calendars.
    Hope this solves your problem
    P.S.: I have 12 calendars, so I win

  • Q10 and multiple shared Google Calendars?

I tried searching on this support forum for answers to my question but could not find any.
I am currently using the BB9930. The device was more than adequate for my purposes even though the lack of apps was always a sore spot. However, the one lack of functionality that I could not compromise was the BB9930's lack of support for displaying multiple Google Calendars that are shared with me. I recognize that I can create a new Google account and have that account's Calendar display on my device, but I am not interested in that. I need to be able to view the Calendars of other Google accounts that are shared with my Google account.
This lack of functionality is turning out to be a dealbreaker for me. I switched temporarily to a Motorola XPRT but that device's keyboard was just not as good, the phone was sluggish, etc. I've switched back to the BB9930 but am planning to switch either to an Android non-keyboarded phone or to the Q10.
Whether I switch to a Q10 is really dependent on whether it supports multiple shared Google Calendars but I can't seem to find a straightforward answer to this question. Can any current Q10 users tell me whether this is possible in their experience? Thanks so much for your help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
My memory tells me that the answer remains no...only the primary gmail user calendar can be displayed, and no other calendars associated to the same google account can be shown. I've been digging for an official KB on the matter (I am quite sure that I've recently read one, but just can't find it now!!), without success...perhaps your search will be more fruitful:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.do
But, my memory also tells me that this is not a limitation of BlackBerry per se. Rather, it is a limitation that Google has placed onto the BlackBerry platform...which is a bit of a different twist on causality. Irrelevant from the end user perspective, but perhaps helpful when one is dealing with their frustrations over the issue (e.g., knowing who to "blame").
Your workaround solution sounds, sadly, like the proper one...create additional google accounts for a calendar-only function, and have the desired calendar be the primary within that account, integrated to the BB10 device via CALDAV:

  • How to use iPhone to sync Outlook with Google calendar?

This is a bit of a convoluted question, but I think there may be an answer using the iPhone as a go between. Here is the issue, I cannot get my google calendar and my Outlook calendar to sync with each other.  I'm using Outlook 2011 on a macbook pro which is using 10.6.8.  The macbook does not have iCloud services on it.  I am also using an iPhone 5 which of course does have iCloud.
Before recently switching to an iPhone, I always used a Blackberry.  I was able to get my google calendar events to appear in my Outlook calendar when I connected the Blackberry to my mac with a cord and selected "sync" in the Blackberry desktop manager.  There were some issues with duplicate events on my BB calendar, but I could deal with that.  For that set up, I had turned everything on to sync with as much as possible, including iCal.
Here is my current question.  Now that I am using the iPhone, is there a way to make google calendar and Outlook calendar sync with each other?  I would think this is possible, because my iPhone and my iCal have all the events from both calendars.  Google is syncing with my iCal, and Outlook is syncing with my iCal.  So, shouldn't the sync work in reverse as well?  Does the iCal only receive events from these two sources but not also "export" events to these calendars as well?
And, is there a fix using either the iPhone or iCal to make both calendars appear in both places, as they do in my iCal and my iPhone?
    Thank you!

In order to be able to order from the U.S. Online Store you need to have a U.S. credit card and the device has to be shipped to a U.S. address.

  • Google Calendar

Quick question for anyone that has or has used the Google Calendar app. I have entered quite a few events on my calendar, some even being in early 2011. But only the events that were entered for Aug, Sept, & Oct are showing up. I noticed this when I was entering them as well. When I entered an event outside of this 3 month window, it would save but wouldn't show up on the calendar. My question is are these future events past the 3 month window saved & will show up as time passes & they fall within the 3 month window, or does the app just not allow you to enter events past 3 months out & those future events just didn't save?

I already have it set up like that. I am not sure how to make only certain ones visible at certain times without the other calendars being visible at all. Truly like a completely separate calendar. Since they are both synched together, my personal calendar info shows up in my work calendar on both my phone & work computer. This way anyone that can see my work calendar on my computer (the whole company) can see all of my personal events. This is why I got the Google Calendar app in the first place. Everythying is synched but all runs together. So if you know how I can separately & individually view each calendar through the iPhone calendar without simultaneorsly seeing the other one at all, that would be greatness.
