SWU3 Configuration

Hi Experts,
i am trying to configure SWU3.. There "Configure RFC Destination" is not configured.
i tried to configured it manual but it giving the following messages.
1- RFC user is locked or invalid
2- RFC user has wrong Password.
3-Synchronization of passwords Failed.
I am having SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW..... can i authorize to do this configuration or some in these error message.

Hi,
It generates a random password and saves the same password everywhere that it is necessary. Nobody needs to know this password, because it is only used internally anyway.
The only important things to maintain for WF-BATCH are e-mail address and the user name. The address is necessary to be able to send e-mail from workflow, and the name is what will appear under "From:" in people's e-mails that they receive from workflow.

Can't configure SWU3 Classify Decision Task as General in Quality

Hello Workflow Gurus,
I have successfully completed SWU3 configuration in development, however, in quality I am not able to. I have not been able to complete two tasks:
Classify Decision Task as General
Document Generation/Form Integration
I can not configure these two manually or automatically, I get the following message:
Client 700 has status 'not modifiable'. Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'.
How can I configure these two tasks in quality?
Me, as workflow and ABAP consultant and a BASIS contact have tried to configure this. Thanks for any help in advance, points will be awarded.

Hi Gustavo
Please check with basis if its okay to transport a TR just from Q to P.
Normally, SWU3 config asking for transport happens based on the settings you chose in SCC4. Now for your case, there was no TR from Dev, but one from Q -> check with basis if it will not cause any conflicts.
Else you have this solution available when production is setup first.

UWL COnfiguration(Connecters is not successfully connected)

Hi,
We are configuring UWL on portal.
Folowing are the steps we followed for UWL configuration in terms for Portal as well as Backend.
Backend:-
1)SWU3 configuration is done.
2)created UWL_Server with all the authorization.
SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_UWL_END_USER
SAP_BC_UWL_END_USER
SAP_BC_UWL_SERVICE
Portal:-
1)Created one RFC through Visual Administrator
2)Deployed one .SDA sonic connectors
2)Created one system with SAP_R3_Workflow alias name but
getting an error while testing connectors
Test Connection with Connector
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
I believe by the time we donot configure the connectors sucessfully until we
will not be able to register service in System_administration->system Configuration
->Universal Worklist.
Please give you input that how we can manage to acivate the test connection of connectors.

Standard or Custom workflow

Guys & Gals,
How would you find out if a given workflow is a standard or custom workflow.

Hi Raj,
The main difference is seen by the workflow number.
Standard workflows start with numbers like 1,2 etc...
e.g: WS14000002
Custom workflows start with the prefix set by the basis team in SWU3 configuration.
The prefixs generally start with 8 or 9, so any worklfow starting with WS8 or WS9 would be a custom workflow.
eg: WS95100010

Changing standard or Custom attributes

After I upgraded to 7.4.00070 yesterday, today I’m not able
to modify the “standard or Custom attributes” I stopped all scan activate but
still I am not able to make any changes. Has anyone had this problem?

Workflow did not trigger the email notification to approver inbox

Hi SAP Gurus,
SRM 5.0
Extended Classic Scenario
CCM 2.0
Query : Work Flow triggers the professional purchaser PP in approval previw of SC but there is no email sent to the PP inbox.
No email notification is sent to the Professional purchaser inbox.
Can any one advice on this to locate the error.

The issue has been resolved now . The problem was RFC Configuration was not setup for workflow in SWU3.
Problem : Email was not triggering in professional purchaser and approver inbox even though we can see I the approval preview screen at the portal
Solution : The work item step was not generating for Agent determination.
In Automatic Workflow Customization ( SWU3 ), Configure RFC Destination under Maintain Runtime Environment was not enabled.
Basis Team ran Perform Automatic Workflow Customizing button situated adjacent to Execute button. And the status for Configure RFC Destination changed from Red cross to Green Tick.
In Automatic Workflow Customization ( SWU3 ) -> Maintain Runtime Environment -> Configure RFC Destination
There were some more options below were in Crossed red status :-
We selected the particular step below and Right Click -> Auto- Customizing
1)     Schedule Background Job for Missed Deadlines
2)     Schedule Background Job for Work Items with Errors
3)     Schedule Background Job for Condition Evaluation
4)     Schedule Background Job for Event Queue
5)     Schedule Background Job for Event Queue

Workflow - RFC Status -- User is locked

Hi , experts
I prepared a workflow and tested it with   PFTC_DIS transaction.
there was no problem .But when i trigered this workflow event in my program , workflow not worked. I used SWEL and SWELS programs to traced it.
The list is below.
The problem is "RFC Status = User is locked. Please notify the person responsible".

Hi,
Your workflow is not configured properly. Transaction SWU3 -> Configure RFC destinations, hit generate. You may well lack the authorization, in which case you will need a basis person to help you.

Reg:Workflow event

Dear all,
Can anyone help me out of this issue.I created a work flow which on creation of Project it should trigger a mail in Development server .So i used the event CREATION of BUS2001 and i activated event linkages every thing .So when ever I create a project the event CREATION should trigger but instead of event getting triggered the "WORK FLOW STARTED" block is getting triggered and work flow is in READY state only.
The same behavior of Event triggering i observed in even QUALITY server too and i checked for some other
work flows even for them also instead of event getting triggered the WORK FLOW STARTED block is getting triggered and Workflows are in READY mode but in Production server these Workflows are working fine.
So how can i make the event to trigger instead of Workflow Starting block in DEV ???

Hi,
It Seems, the workflow settings affected. This will happen if you Take client copy from PRD or Restarted the Dev & QA System or if the system crash occured. Test the workflow using the T.code SWUE and SWUS check it working fine or not, If not working check the SWU3 Configuration is fine or not as mentioned in the above reply.

Object type 'EBAN' is not defined

Hi All,
I have a developed a custom workflow for PR release.
but the workflow is not triggering.
When i checked in SWU3 configuration, check event linkages, i found that the error message Object type 'EBAN' is not defined.
Can someone tell me what it means and how can i fix it?

Hi PK,
r u using ReleaseStrategy, did u try simulate it, get help from MM consultant, check whether its working perfect.
If tht works fine, switch on ur SWEL (first go to SWELS and click SwitchOn).
Create a PR and chk SWEL, see if ur object BUS2105 is triggered ?

Hi Friends,
When i am configuring SWU3 " Configure RFC Destination " it is asking for password.... basis guys is not having any track of that password.
For my user i have given all the authorizations of SAP_ALL and also S_A.SCON but still it is giving error Error Creating RFC Destination.
pls let me know how to login with my user Id and how to rectify that error.
I have configured all the basic requirement in SWDD.

Thanks for your response. I have read all the documentation. I have user i have assigned all the authorizations SAP_NEW and also changed that o SUPER user. after doing all that only i posted this in SDN regarding this error.

Are you going to use Workflow at all in your system? If you want to reverse everything I guess not. You do not have to reverse everything. See below.
1.Maintain Runtime Environment
1.1 Configure RFC Destination => In SM59 delete the RFC destination WORKFLOW-LOCAL_XXX where XXX is the client
1.2 Maintain Workflow System Administrator
1.3 Maintain Active Plan Version
1.4 Classify Decision Task as General
1.5 Document Generation/Form Integration
1.6 Maintain Time Units
1.7 Schedule Background Job for Missed Deadlines => Goto SM37 and remove the job
1.8 Schedule Background Job for Work Items with Errors => Goto SM37 and remove the job
1.9 Schedule Background Job for Condition Evaluation => Goto SM37 and remove the job
1.10 Schedule Background Job for Event Queue => Stop job vai SWEQADM transaction
1.11 Schedule background job for clearing report => Goto SM37 and remove the job
like wise we also configured the below tree as well
2. Maintain Additional Settings and Services
3.Classify Tasks as General
4. Guided Procedures
You may not have to reverse the other options but if you want to just select each individually and click the execute button and remove customizing.

Configuring Workflow in SWU3

Hi,
while configuring in SWU3 i am facing a problem with the node "Maintain Webserver". I have activated the services for workflow in sicf and rfc destinations in sm59.
still when i enter my webserver address as http://srmdev:8000, its not activated, instead its showing a cross mark.
Can any one help me, what could be the problem, or what action needs to be taken.
