SX700 has a loud zoom in/out, which got picked up by the video. Is it normal?

I just received my Canon SX700 and went out for a test today. The picture quality wes good, the video image quality was great as well. I heard zooming in and out sound when I was shooting the video using SX700. After I came home and play it on my computer, the zooming in/out sound is indeed loud and clear. In addition, I heard clicking sound in some zooming in and out as well. Is it normal? Is it an one off defect? Should I return it? And comment/ suggestion/ advice is appreciated!

The noise you can here is the zoom motor stopping and starting and very little you can do about it. The internal microphone is only doing it's job... picking ALL the sound up it detects.
These cameras in the video mode is only a gimmick, the quality of these internal microphones leaves a lot to be desired, the only way round it is to use an external microphone, whether these cameras have that facility I can't say, do consult your user manual on using an external mic.

ADF table: How to find out which rows were modified by the user

Hi,
I am using ADF table to display data that can be modified by the user (ReadOnly = false in the input text). I need to find out which rows were modified by the user, and only update (persist) those rows in the database.
Is there an easy way to find out which rows were modified by the user.
I am NOT particularly concerned with which columns were modified as I would update the entire row (if any data in that row is modified).
I am using Oracle JDeveloper version 11.1.1.3.

I am using ADF Data Control (which are created from Web Service proxy) to display/update the data.
In the backing bean, the operation that is invoked at the time persisting data is as follows:

How do I find out which app is transferring all the data?

My daughter is approaching her data limit and I'd like to find out which app(s) are responsible for the bulk of her data transfers. If I go to Settings -> General -> Usage, I see a list of apps. The right column is labeled "App Data", but the User's Guide says that this column shows "(e)ach installed app’s total storage space". I can't find any indication of how much data each app is transferring. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

the problem could be something loaded in the Login Items list in System Preferences > Accounts but I have gotten rid of all those.
A question, did you just uncheck them or highlight them & click the little minus icon? Do they still show in the list? I'm not sure, but I don't think it takes effect until you restart.
Should anyone else come across this - the message is typical of not having the proper version of Pro Tools installed for the OS version being used.
In this case, the minimum Pro Tools version supported on OS 10.4.10 is 6.9.2 (or 6.8.1 with certain Digi hardware devices).

How can I find out which apps I have in the cloud

I bought a new 5s and have been downloading apps I had previously on my 4s. When I search for apps I already had, there is a cloud icon when the "buy" icon usually is, and I am able to download them with ease. However, I know there are many more apps I that I had whose names escape me. How can I see a list of which apps are available in the cloud so I can pick and choose which ones I want to download again, rather than racking my brain trying to remember all of the apps I previously had?

How can I find out which DLL version is on the end-user's computer?

I'm working on an installer program and I was wondering how I can find out what version of a DLL is on the end-user's computer, furthermore I would also like to find out if the file is locked in memory. Is there a way to do this? I figured natively there wouldn't be but does anyone know of a C++ wrapper or so?

I'm not aware of any way of seeing the list. Have you had other computer's in the past and/or updated the OS on your current computers without first deauthorising them ? Deauthorising all (which you can only do once every 12 months) won't remove any content from those computers, it just means that you won't be able to use the account's content on a particular computer until you've reauthorised that computer

Zoom in/out, Move through frame WITHOUT changing the placement/crop size?

How do you actually zoom in and out of a frame, move through it up and down, WITHOUT changing the crop size or placement of the frame?
Scaling doesn't do it...

I mean I don't want the crop size or dimensions to change but I want to move the frame around within the same crop dimensions. Does that make sense?
While showing the image and wireframe in canvas, I should be able to adjust framing without changing dimensions by shift and dragging up or down, but I'm guessing it doesn't work once I've cropped the image since the dimensions are filled to the edge with black.
How can I accomplish this task. The clip is already in a sequences timeline.

Finding out which jarfile that is starting the application

Ok the thing is, i need the JarFile which started the application.
With javaws, it seems like they change the name of the jar file when you deploy it with jws, so how can i in the main() method of the Main class get the instance of the JarFile which it is started from?

May i know which app you are talking about.
If you are talking about IPC then, you can generate the trace of the Product Configuration web page and in the source code you get, you can see which scenario was chosen.
If you are talking of ISA, then you can either see this in the URL that launches the app or in the XCM setting page, which scenario has been set to the default one.

Find out which EAS settings come from the server

I am still struggling with the screen-lock timer. It still just offers locking after "Screen turns off".
Since our exchange-admins claim that the only supported plattform is Windows Mobile I would like to find out what instructions come from the EAS server.
Is there a way to find out, what the EAS server sends to the Pre?
Oh, and I am using webOS 1.4.1-wr.

You can copy iTunes purchased from a device to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases - if the account is authorised on your computer's iTunes then you should be prompted to authorise it when trying to copy them.
Or there are programs listed half-way down this page which can copy them back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
You can then add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library, again you should be prompted to authorise the account if it's not already authorised.
You can also find the account that a track is tied to be selecting/highlighting it in the My Music part of your library, or the Music section of 'OnMy Device' when you select the device, and doing 'get-info' (command-i) - it will show on one of the tabs on the popup

We want now to switch this jobs to other accounts. The problem we are facing is how to find out what jobs, or job steps are connected with his account, so we can safely demote his account, so that no other jobs will be run under his account. the only reliable way to do this is by scanning table TBTCP using the person's userID in field AUTHCKNAM and filtering by job statuses: scheduled, released, ready and active (sorry I can't remember the code#'s off top of my head, something like P=scheduled, S=scheduled...you have to look it up). When you search SM37 it only permits you to scan by the userID who created the job, but it won't tell you if a different userID is defined in a job step. That's why you need to scan TBTCP. Don't forget that you should also check for a user's open Workflow items before deletion.
I noticed some posts in this forum that suggest a userID should never be deleted, only locked, added to a special user group, and all role assignments removed. However I've never worked somewhere that does this.

While in imovie, when working on a project, I can NOT view the project in the right hand screen. I have made several videos and it has always worked before. I am not able to edit the videos because they won't play in the right hand screen.

The videos that I import (and are located on the bottom of imovie) will show up and play on the right hand screen. But if I move that clip to the actually project area it won't play in the right hand side! I somehow must have clicked something that now won't play the project videos and now plays the clips below instead! Help please I need to fix this! Everythign else works, I can still edit videos, add transitions, music, etc I just can't see it on the right hand side- so I can't edit because I can't see

I've had a look at the TC settings dialog and tried to keep it as simple as possible. I also had a copy of LR 4 on the hard drive so have trashed that also incase of any conflicts. LR seems to be running ok now but as said it's an intermittent problem.
I also have a copy of Capture One on the hard drive so am going to uninstall that also in case it is trying to launch.

Zoom in/out on panel -- efficient way?

I need a panel to display an image, I want to be able to zoom in/out on that image, and have the panel resized (which would need to adjust the image being shown so that it fills the panel)....below is sort of what I was thinking...but is there a more efficient way?

1) Don't extent paint(), extend paintComponent()
2) Keep a local copy of the image in your class. Use Image.getScaledImage()
whenever the user changes the zoom level to modify your local copy. Have
paintComponent reference the local copy.
This way, you're only performing an expensive computation when the zoom
actually changes, which is relatively infrequent, rather than every time you
have to repaint, which is relatively often.
