Sxi_cache in busines system
Hello
SXI_Cache is to verify if XI cache is up-to-date in the IE. This is particularily useful in PI/XI box. However PI configuration will be also populated to the connecting backend abap system? I mean should we also check if XI cache is up-to-date in the sender or receiver abap system using sxi_cache? or at least this is valid for ws adapter for system based on NW 7.1?
I am asking this question, because in my backend sytem (NW7.0) in sxi_cache, the button to refresh cache is disabled, and basis people can't tell why this? Also sxi_cache says cache is absolete. So I wonder maybe this is correct because no PI configuration would be pushed from the PI 7.1 box to the backend, thus there is no need to refresh and the error message that cache is absolete is also normal. However I want to get confirmation from you experts on this.

You can not have two the same named business systems as "receivers" in receiver determination.
But you can define two business services/systems (different names) and they can point to one physical system by different adapters.

Technical system not available in Integration tab of Busines System SLD
Hi ,
I am creating a Business System in SLD(on Solution Manager) for XI system but not able to see any technical system from Integration tab of Business system.
I have already created a technical system in SLD.
Please suggest what other settings I need to check.

Clear the cache and try again.
Go to Environment -
> Click on Clear SLD data cache.
If you still din't get then In the SLD goto technical system, in the dropdown box select your Technical system type(web as Java/....) and cleck on display, if it is there then it was created other wise it wasn't created. -
Same busines system having different Logical system name--- is it possible

Can I create same business system connected to to a specific Technical system? Here I am creating more than one business system having same business sytem name but different logical system name?

Sugata BOne technical system could have multiple business system and each business system should have a unique logical system name. However, if you provide some similar name, then I guess while configuring there would be no error. At runtime, you may face some error when business system is checked during SLD lookup.

Business system is not seen in new business system window
A Business system has been created by admin in SLD
now when I try to declare the same BS as business system(manually .. new > assign busines system), I dont see it in create business system window...

I am getting No service for system SAPNID, client 800 in Integration Directory in tRFC monitor (SM58).
My scenario is IDOC to File.
I did following step in R3.
1. Created RFC destination pointing to XI systems (name:XID)
2. Created IDOC port (name: SAPNID) and use above (XID) RFC in RFC destination.
3. Create Partner Type LI (Partner No. 3000) and add message type ORDERS, set the receiver port (SAPNID) created above.
XI Side.
1. Create Technical System (Name : XID)
2. Business Systems (Name: R3XID)
3. In Integration Repository.
Created Data Type
Import IDOC ORDERS.ORDERS04
Created Message Interface
Created Message Type
In Mapping Object created Message Mapping and Interface Mapping.
4. In Integration Directory
Created the Scenario (name : FILE_FROM_IDOC)
Assign Business Systems as R3XID
Create communication channel(name: FILE_ORDERS_COM_CHNL)
Create Receiver Determination
Interface Determination
Receiver Agreement.
IDOC is triggered correctly but in tRFC monitor I am getting following error
No service for system SAPNID, client 800 in Integration Directory

I do not know whether SAPNID is required or not, earlier I used R3XID as Business Systems at the time of configuration now I changed it to SAPNID. I am getting the same error in both the case. -
No Business Systems refresh in Integration Directory
Hello,
I'm working with an installation of XI NW 7.0 SR3 ABAP+JAVA on Windows
MSSQLServer.
I've created many outbound and inbound interfaces and imported idocs
too in a specific software component.
I've imported the busines system linked to the software componed in
Integration Directory but it didn't contain the I/O interfaces nor
imported idocs.
Result of this is that when I try to use Condition in Interface
Determination this error occured:
Problem loading Schema Description.
Message interface does not exist in any software components installed
on this business system.
Can you help me?

If you get the following msg while selecting the BS in Receiver Determination
"Message interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system"
1) Open ID-----Double click on Business system that which u are using in the scenario
2) Check whether you are able to see the SWC in the Othere attributes TAB
3) If it is not there means goto SLD----Open the Technical System of R/3 by choosing Web as ABAp type
4) Click on Installed Products TAB
5) Click on Add New product and add your Product of the SWC whcih you are using for developement and Save it
6) Then goto Business systems TAB in the same Technical systems window and click on the Business System appears in the window.
7) Click on Installed products and Check the check box of your Product and then finally save that.
Now you should be able to see the SWC in the Othere attributes TAB in ID

SLD: Pointing two business systems to the same client...

Even though you will have multiple Business Systems in every envrionment, the final transport will happen from only one environment.
DEV --> QA --> PROD. In this case, objects are moved from dev to qa and then from QA to prod and so, all you will need is the trasnport target created in the QA business systems pointing to the Prod busines system and do the transport.
><i>While transporting to a new SLD(quality to prod) can I choose one transport target for multiple source business systems?</i>

Can we define two business system for a Client.
Hi XI Experts,
We are facing problem regarding the Technical & business system in SLD.
For deploying the readymade .tpz files , we have to define a technical system as ABAP in SLD.
under this Technical system one Business system with specific name to be defined.
But problem is that in Custmor's landscape they have already defined a Technical system & corresponding Business system for a specific client 250.
so while adding the new business system to existing technical system we are facing error:--
Business system is alredy define for this client , choose another client.
as a second option we defined a new technical system and when we try to define the new business system under this it also throw error:-
Client is associated with Logical system name of existing business system.
suggest the solution .Hi Sudhir, I think in XI there is 1:n relationship between Technical sysytem and business system.
Means for a technical system we can define a no. of business system , but only limitation is that for a Specific client we can define a single busines system with a logical system name.
so i am looking for any way around. for my scenerio is to add a another business system to the client which has already defined business system.
suggest if any alternative solution is there.

(Q1). Im new to SAP XI and recently Ive attended an interview with an MNC. There the interviewer asked to draw complete system landscape (all systems which are integrated with XI). I told him that Ive configured JDBC, File (with content conversions), IDOC, RFC and SOAP adapters. I need a sample system landscape wherein I can show all the systems involved in configurations and it shud cover all the above mention adapters. In which scenario we use JDBC adapter I
(Q2). In a system landscape do we maintain a single File server or every system will have there own file servers. If only a single file server exists then how we can configure file2file scenario using RFC?
(Q3). In which scenario we use JDBC adapter .I mean can we send the data directly to DB lets say SQL Server without using any front-end applications.

Abdul, first you have to know what is sld, how many sld's can be configured, it purely depends on the client's requirement, they may maintaing single SLD for DEV, QUA & Production, or they may maintain individually. and if we deploy the .tpz file of adapters all the adapter which are present with the XI will be deployed and can be viewed and according to the requirement we choose the adapter.
If u deal with the DATABASE then u have to go with the corresponding JDBC adapter, else if u want to work with CSV or XML files then u will be going for the file adapter, it purely depends on the requirement of your scenario.
SLD contains
1>SW catalog, which contains
SW product: is any application. Ex: MS office.
SW Component: is any new funcationality that is added to the product.
SW Component version: version of the new functionality.
2>System Catalog, which contains
Tech systems: SW products are installed on the tech systems.
Busines Systems: are Logical systems that take part in the actual message exchange.

XI server: External XML to SAP interface: No own business system
Hi, we have inbound XML interfaces into SAP via XI using JMS queues. We have a dev, test and int. test environment. The dev and test environments work OK. The int. test environment has just been set up. The XML appears in the XI server, viewed via monitor SXI_MONITOR. It has a red flag error, within the XML trace, No own business system, seee below for full msg. I've test in config and the receiver is determined correctly. Can anyone help? Using XI version 3.0, SP14.

Business System
Business system usually comes into play in case of A2A scenarios. It has all the details configured in SLD.Business systems need to be configured in SLD.They can represent a swim lane in Integration scenario in IR.To address a business system from the SLD as the sender or receiver of messages in logical routing, you must define it as a service (of type Business System) in the Integration Directory.Business system is an addressable unit. It points to a technical system with all system details.In real time, if the system lanscape of communication partner is known, then a businness system will be created in SLD.A business system (service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.
Business Service
Business service is an abstract object. It is usually used in case of B2B scenarios. It will not have any entry in the SLD.A business service represents an abstract unit for addressing the senders and receivers of messages. You can use a business service to group interfaces.Business service is an abstract addressable unit, i.e., without system information.Business service is used when landscape of communication partner is unknown.

-so talking about the working of an SLD, here if any information is required for the integration server regarding the systems(logical or physical) and the softwares(installed products) it refers to the SLD.
-to tell you about the other features it has....it captures the dmensions of the system landscape like solution dimesion,transport dimension and technical dimension.
-putting it in short XI IS A CLIENT OF SLD
2.technical system is correlates the software to the physical host on which it is installed.
-they are actually the basis for defining the business systems.
-we assign a technical system to a busines system to help the SLD make the appropriate assosiation.
-the software products used by the business system are got from the technical system definition.
-to note 1 technical system can have more than one business system asssigned to it....and as told the SLD make the appropriate assosiation between them.
3.i would ask u to use graphical message mapping to send one message to 6 diff systems....i presume that EDI MESSAGE FORMATS are business documents like tax returns and invoices(am i right )
-incase you want to send it to 6 systems based on some condition you can check for that also in the receiver determination.
5.to put it in short adapter is used to convert any type of file format into xml format.this is the basic need of an adapter.
4.we can have either a sender or receiver file adapter........but to give you an idea in general...
-The file adapter enables you to exchange data with the Integration Server or by means a FTP server.
The file contents can be sent to the Integration Server unaltered. If the data contains Comma Separated Values (CSV), it can first be converted into a simple XML message. This XML message is then forwarded to the Integration Server.
-Conversely, file content coming from the Integration Server can be put unaltered into a file or converted from XML format. -

Go to Service without Party->Right Click->Assign Business System->it will show you list of Business Systems created in SLD -> then go ahead
Then
2 options to refresh the cache-
Integration Directory->Environment->Clear SLD Data Cache
Another way is -go to SXI_CACHE / Goto - Business System -> delete the content
Still , if you are not able to see the Business sytem in the Directory, the just go and check in the SLD. If it exists just change and save it.
Then synchronise the same by SLD cache refresh as mentiond.
