Sxipper addon causes multiple requests for master password

Since installing Sxipper as my new password/form filler addon, every time I go to a webpage, even my homepage, the Software Security Device pops up and asks for my master password. This happens as many as four times on the same page. I can't seem to correct the problem. And these are unencrypted pages.

I am using Secure Login with Saved Password Editor within FF 7.0.1. I believe that the former is not behaving correctly. Specifically, it keeps asking for the Master password to be entered even though it had been entered. I thought that it was only to ask when FF is first opened???

In current Firefox versions the master password expires after 30 minutes and needs to be re-entered if it is needed.

Multiple requests for keychain password after booting up

Every time I boot up I get several requests for my keychain password.
I think the requests come from each of the applications that I have selected for auto-launch in the Accounts control panel.
Is this because these apps are launching before the system unlocks the keychain?
I never get keychain password requests at any other time. It seems like there is a sequence or timing issue.

I have never set-up a master password for firefox. Somehow the browser to locked mode, now, and requests a master password. How can I get it to unlock?

There is no URL line, into which anything may be entered.
Also, I reinstalled the program as well. No change. Still defaults to a request for a password THAT I HAVE NEVER CREATED.
Full disclosure: I reached to reconnect a cable, and pressed my chest against my keyboard, while the computer was in sleep mode, with Firefox running in the background. When I stood, the browser was locked. I've tried all passwords I know, and use. No luck. The following addy will not load, even if entered into home page.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar

Multiple popups for username/password for basic authentication.

Safari 4.0.5 (5531.22.7) gives multiple popups for username/password while requesting a page which has more than one 'secure' items in it (basic auth). We expected that Safari to reuse the credentials entered the first time around and pass it on for subsequent requests. (Although RFC 2617 specifies that the credentials 'may' be reused, not really sure what Safari is doing here, though this seems to be the behavior on other popular browsers).
There's another discussion that listed this problem but that too seems to be unresolved yet (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2074214).

If you have tried the suggestions at that link but nothing worked, update Safari.

     I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
     I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it. His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
     It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
     Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
     I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
   For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.

If you have a corporate Exchange account set up on the phone, the administrators can require encrypted backups. Try using your Exchange password.

Itunes popup on mac requesting for my password, how to turn it off?

When I click the play button on my mac to listen to music it doesn't turn on because itunes keeps requesting for my password for automatic downloads. How do I stop this? It just started after I got my iphone.

@ Ivmedic... Disabling automatic downloads does not resolve this issue. I am having the same issue. I open iTunes and get prompted for my log in info for automatic downloads, if you log in the issue returns the next time you open iTunes same as if you hit cancel. Also you actually have to go through this 2 times when opening iTunes before it stops... Certainly a bug in the 10.5.1 (42) build.

I understand that you are receiving repeated prompts for different “Local Items” keychain passwords and know how frustrating this situation can be. There is a solution to this issue however. Please use the steps and information in the attached article to resolve this issue.

When I go to a website requiring login, and am logged in automatically, I still get prompted by Software Security Defice for master password. New w/Firefox 24.

If I go to a website that requires a login & password, and I have it set up to automatically log me in, I get automatically logged in (it remembers by userid & password for that site), but the prompt from the Software Security Device for my master password appears as well. I can cancel the prompt and it goes away, but it shouldn't show up because I'm already logged in. This problem started happening after I downloaded Firefox 24 yesterday.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

So i've found that 2 freeware program I use for work do not open. Its not the programs itself as older versions of the program works (they have bugs which means i cant use certain functions). I've attempted to re-install the program's and they still dont open.
I think it is the Java update. At work they suggested re-installing Java, Which also didnt fix the problem.
I would like to try re-enabling Java SE 6 however when i put the 1st command into Terminal it asks me for a password which I dont know. Is there one i should know? Where can i find this password? Can I work around it?

Yes it is from firefox. It is a request to enter a master password, which protects all your passwords. If this annoys you, you can disable it by going to Menu>Preferences>Security and then clear the box that says use a master password. It should then prompt you to enter your master password, and then you will be done. However, I find this function useful. You don't need to worry about it, its from firefox good question though.

How to stop request for admin password when sending files to trash?

I am requested the admin password when ever sending a file to trash using the mouse or the context menu.
How to stop this annoying request?
It was not like this before.
I am working on a non admin account for security reasons. I got admin details here of cause.

I gave my working account admin abilities in the system preferences. logged out and back in. Run the command line "sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash" as Topher Kessler suggested. Now my own password was accepted (before this ine and the admins accounts one failed). No there is no annoying request for the admin passowrd when sending a file to trash. changed my work account for no admintrative in the system prefs and logged out and in.
Problem solved.

I FORGOT MASTER PASSWORD BUT I HAVE THE STARTP DISC 10.4.6. .. I TRIED TO HIT THE APPLE C BUT ON RESTART BUT IT DIDNT RESPOND ,,, I ALSO HIT THE APPLE S ..BUT IM NOT FAST ENOUGH TO TYPE COMMANDS... CAN ANYONE HELP ME TO REBOOT USING MY DISC .. I CAN ONLY USE MY GUEST ACCOUNT AND NOT MY MASTER .. EVERYTHING IS BACKED UP .. BUT WHAT SHOULD I DO TO COMPLETELY RE-INSTALL ?

i tried both reboot then hold down the option key and didnt work.... i only want to completely reinstall cause its getting frustrating ... lol i have the orig disc and when i folow the ins to hold down the c it doesnt work .. i tried single user mode but i dont type fast enough to enter commands.. i waited for the tone after it restarted then i hurry up an press the option key ..but it takes me straight to the login screen .. i can only use guest account ... .am i pressing the option key at the right time ..?

Sync NEVER works automatically. In a new FF session it always reports "Error While Signing In". If I try to connect manually I must go through the set-up dialogue and enter my Master Password etc and then it works (during that session).
I have a Master Password defined.
Sync doesn't prompt for that before trying to connect. So the connection fails and sync concludes that a set-up must be performed.
Useless extension in current state.

as per the error message is:
"... The part /soap:Envelope/soap:Body was required to be signed by the policy with the transformations [], but the signature was not accepted. (Info: number of valid signatures: 1, number of accepted signer certificates: 0.) ..."
I guess the cert. setup either on your side or the other system's side is not fully correct. Check whether all cert., priv keys and public keys are exchanged propperly and setup as trusted certs.

HT5622 Trying to get a training room set up with Apple ID's. Does Apple block an IP if they receive multiple requests for accounts?

We are training 63 new employees today. Trying to set up an Apple ID's and iTunes. All but 4 credit cards are being denied. Will Apple block an IP if they receive multiple requests from an IP within "x" minutues?
