Hi XI Adimin/Basis experts,
Please let me know a way to achieve load balancing among available J2EE server nodes by adjusting any Java Dispatcher settings. what is the effect of sf.restricted.load.balance parameter of the Dispatcher JVM property".
Can also let me know the tricks need to be used in managing the queues in SXMB_ADM.All the related things about the queues (the mparameters need to be given)with explanation about each parameter and tips to improve the RFC scheduler performance and over all perfomance.

Project Server 2010 - Manage Queue anomalies

Morning All,
I'm currently experiencing an odd situation with the Manage Queue function in our Project Server. For the entire year I've been using PS the Manage Queue has never consisted of much more than a couple of projects awaiting check-in.
I logged on last week and saw that timesheets are now in the queue. This is particularly odd as we don't use timesheets so I'm unsure why these are now showing in the queue.
The screen shows the following:
Queue Type = timesheet
Entry Time = 1am
Complete Time = blank
Project Name = N/A
Job Type = either Archive Custom Fields, Archive System Settings or Archive Resources
Job State = waiting to be processed
Percentage Complete = 0%
Owner = SVC_SPFarmadmin
This week it's also trying to archive projects. Everything is as above except Project Name isn't blank and Job Type says Archive Project.
I'm the administrator for PS and (as far as I know) I've not made any changes that would cause these to now be queueing.
I was wondering if anyone might know why this is happening, if it will cause any major problems and if there's a way to stop this occuring. Everyone here is as confused as I am as to what's going on.

Scenario: R/3 - XI - Third Party System: Manage queues

Hi to all,
my scenario is: an R/3 system which extract some datas -> XI -> datas are used in a third party system. In R/3 system I did a custom program which extracts datas and send them to abap proxy, this program is used by a key user who can execute it more times quickly, and I'd like put these executions in queues so that they are precessed one after one. Is this possible? Is there a function module in R/3 system to manage queues for my purpose?

Hello, I'm quite interested in buying Lightroom 5.2. I tried the RC which ran out now. Yet, I have a several questions that I can't really find good conclusive answers to, that I'd like to get answered before buying LR. Please don't write maybe like this or that (assumptions), since I don't want to start my whole workflow and then realize that I have to change everything around, so please answer, if you know for sure that something works and you are, preferably, using that method too.
This is the biggest question, where I mainly want a conclusive answer: How do I manage Lightroom photos when using 2 computers, keeping all edits made on either one of them, using the same photos for editing. I won't use DNG. Details: I mainly use my older MacBook Pro, but would like to be able to use my PC as it's way better (Specs: i5 2500K, 16GB RAM, SSD, USB3, nVidia GTX 560 TI etc.). I have 2 external HDs that I could use, one for Backup and one for the actual Photos/Edits. I'll probably need to use it as my internal HDs are quite full, and I can't just delete stuff or move it to an (Developer programs, Lossless music, etc.).
Based on this, how do I back up the whole thing e.g. Photos folder (all photos and edits, and preferably presets too)?

I believe it should be possible to work cross-platform without having to relink files each time, or without having to keep exporting/importing the catalog, by keeping the single catalog and the image library on the one external drive which is then switched between systems as needed.
Obvious first requirement is an external drive that is formatted in such a way (e.g FAT32) that it can be used on both platforms in read/write mode. Given that, if the catalog AND the images parent folder are both established at the same level in one overall parent folder, then it should be possible to take advatage of Lightroom's ability to use relative paths rather than absolute paths to detect the images, no matter if the drive is named (Mac) or lettered (PC). This is how "export as Catalog" works, i.e. it creates a "package", aka a parent folder, containing the catalog and a replica of the exported images folder hierarchy alongside the catalog. Take that "package" to another system (same OS or not) and "it just works" even if the drive letter is different or the OS is different....because the relative path from catalog to images is still the same.
I haven't tested this cross-platform (though I have between different PC systems with different drive letters) so for me it's still just a theory, but there may be others who have done this successfully.

Pending requests in the Standard Manager queue

We are currently facing a situation in one of our Oracle EBS R12 instances, the current number of Standard Manager processes is set to 20, cache size 20 and sleep time 15 . We frequently observe that the concurrent requests get queued up in the Standard Manager queue (Concurrent->Manager->Administer).We have observed that the request queue gets cleared out when we temporarily increase the Standard Manager process to 30/40.But, the issue occurs again after some time, when we reset Standard manager process to 20.
Any help in this regard will be highly helpful.
OS: OEL 5.5 (x86)
EBS: 12.1.1
DB: 11.1.0.7
Install type: Multi-Node

Installing Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Using an Existing Database

I want to install Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control 10.2.0.3 using an existing database. This database is RAC 10.2.0.2. and I use it as Infrastructure Metadata Repository.
I is said in Oracle documentation that SYSMAN schema has to be dropped, thus Database console repository has to be dropped. As far as I understand after Grid Control installation I will not be able to use Database console for my RAC 10.2.0.2 Infrastructure Metadata Repository database. I will be able to use only Grid Control for this database.
Am I right? Could you give me any advice about Installing Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Using an Existing Database?

Yes we've done that. They've confirmed a problem with the links/scripts on the note. The 10.1 and up version was not really 10.1 and up.
As they would not have a new version available in time for the move we needed to perform, we switched our approach to using dbms_redefinition instead.

But does Oracle allow/support monitoring and management of Oracle databases using open standards like WBEM?
We are trying to standardize on an open standard like WBEM for monitoring and managing hardware and software and also model those entities using the CIM (Common Information model) and would
like to monitor Oracle Databases under this model using WBEM.
I have read about the ability of the Oracle Enterprise manager to manage other third party hardware and software including databases using WBEM Fetchlets.

We have got custom concurrent queues defined and have then included applications / programs under it.
This way we are seggregating the load across multiple queues and application servers.
As a check , i want to find what programs are running / actually scheduled under each queue.
I can see the same from the application frontend. How can I find the same form backend database.

How I can set Leopard to use the color management mixture that Tiger uses?

I have recently bought a new Mac with Leopard installed. My old Mac is running Tiger. Unfortunately the color management default settings in Leopard are different than in Tiger, so this is completely messing up my calibration. I already have set FF to No Proxy. This made FF work again, but not any of my other internet programs, programs that don't have the option to set to no proxy, they rely on the system settings. So I need to know how to reset my system settings back to their default values. This will allow all my net progs to access the net again, including FF using the Use System Settings option. Since FF has an option to use system settings, this is a somewhat FF related question. I need to get all my net programs working again, not just FF! And, if my system settings are restored, FF will work using the system settings, and all my other progs will work too.

That depends on what kind of "files" you're talking about and what your employer's policy is on using cloud storage.
I found dropbox and/or OneDrive work very well for keeping documents in sync between multiple machines.

H E L P ! ! Managing Parental Controls & Cloning using Apple Remote Desktop

Hello folks,
I work in an UK University managing a Lab of Mac Pro's. We've just had a kit upgrade and I've spent the last few days installing and configuring the systems. There are two accounts on each machine; an 'administrator' and a 'student' (a managed account). All managed by Apple Remote Desktop.
Basically, after installing the OS 10.6 and other software, I've setup one machine as I would like it to be and want to clone 'Parental Controls' settings from one machine to the rest. Sounds simple. Hmmm. Well despite being able to see all the other machines on the network and connecting to them using the administrator login, the settings won't copy.
I have being using the 'Copy' & 'Paste Settings' in the Parental Controls Prefs Pane, ensuring that the "Manage parent controls from another computer" is ticked on the destination machine. The settings appear to copy, or when selected duplicate, so there appears to be two versions Photoshop, Illustrator etc etc.
I've follow the limited information I've found on the net, but am still experiencing problems. I've run Disk Utils, checked and repaired the Permissions, used Time Machine to copy the settings using Migrate Users Utility.
I'm not sure if these issues are connected to a problem I had with CS3 licensing where the volume licence "stopped" working. As the Adobe apps are the constantly stating, on the "student" account, that the user doesn't have permission to open them. Despite being ticked in the Parental Controls Panel. I've cured this on one machine, the one I want to clone the Parental Prefs of.
Well … after that monologue - can anyone suggest a way of cloning these prefs (wherever they live) rather than having to format and use Time Machine to clone the entire OS and Mac?
I'd love a Unix command which I could send from ARD - but I'm a still a little green to it's use.

I don't think so? Besides there's no need for it. Parental Controls is available as a Managed Preference (or MCX) using WorkGroup Manager either at Users, Group or Hardware Level. Launch the application and click on the Preferences icon and you'll see what I mean.

Can Application Manager queue multiple app installs or does each application have to be installed separately while we wait for it to finish (bored out of skull)?

Yes,
Adobe Application Manager support installation of multiple application at a time but it will affect the perfomance of the system
in case hardware configuration is not adequate.
